AWE! That was awesome. Thanks for the link. Sorry to hear he will be retiring this year.

Good luck INUK!

Verona, ON

Betty I saw it. Inuk is 1 handsome dude. He looked almost bored. What a good boy he is .....let those people talk but look at me.

Sunny but very cold here. Snow is it on the way.

Barb I am glad Norm is home with you. I know you would worry about him all day if he was on the road.

Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you saw the entire episode..sure hope he breaks yet another record Monday then he can enjoy his retirement

Drats, decided I would make a spaghetti sauce for the freezer, grabbed 2 packages of what I thought was hamburger..while cooking I thought this doesn't look right, look and here it was turkey burger..unless I throw meat away?? Anybody ever have turkey spaghetti sauce..maybe I could see if I've spaghetti sauce in the freezer and add to it..that is what you get when you don't read labels..you would think they would put those packages in with the poultry. Grrr

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - thank you for the link! He is a beautiful dog! You're right, Dianne - he does look almost bored (expect to see a paw cover a yawn, but he's much too well-bred for that lol). Sharon & his handler must be so proud, as are you. A celebrity in the family :-)
Lots of snow out there, but hoping to walk the block to visit my friend Adrianna here, in the Park. She's about 1 blk from here. We normally craft together and I've been missing it since Jan 17th. Bob will walk over with me, and pick me up afterwards.
I need her to show me how to do cross stitch. I haven't done it since I was in Home Ec and I was given 3 kits, "in lieu" by a friend last summer. Have one all ready to go, just don't know how to get started.

Beautiful Susan, could your friend not come to your place? Kind of early to be out isn't it?

It's 16F with a feel like 12F, tonight it will be -1F with a feel like -16F so cold here as well..so cold that I put a bag of melter on steps going down from back deck but it is NOT melting at all even with this sunshine..bad weather arriving mid afternoon.

Lazy today. Lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, that is very pretty.
I have done cross stitch years ago, and if I remember correctly, you need to start at one edge, and go from there. Very time consuming, but like Barbs work, it is so beautiful when done.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I'm getting cabin fever in here. I need to get out...... With Bob by my side, I should be ok. It's only a block, after all. I'll take my walker with the seat on it.
Do you really think it's too soon?
It's 1F / -17celcius at the moment, but supposed to be 9F / -13 this afternoon.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty I use Turkey Burger ALL the time. Just use your regular spaghetti spices and it will be great....and healthier. Shane actually prefers the turkey meat in the sauce and also some stews. We even get the turkey burger and cook on grill for hamburgs.
It has a sweeter taste to it...not as greasy either. But ....cook it up, taste test and add spices you need.

I will look at video. My insomnia is really bad...I slept thru the alarm I had set for 6:30 to get up and check. Never heard the radio or bothered by the cat sleeping on my head.

Barb stay safe!!! Pictures from the window only! I almost...I said almost....wish we would get snow here. Haven't had more than a few inches this year!! Remind me this when we get hit...I wished for it!

I did something to my arm/shoulder. Aching something aweful. Put some cream on it and took celebrex...hoping it kicks in.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Ouch, Debbie - hope the Celebrex helps your arm/shoulder.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Glad you jumped in on the turkey burger Deb. I was going to and it slipped away.

Lyndonville, NY

I use it even for meatloaf.....and you can always use 1/2 beef 1/2 turkey or pork. The pre-diabetic issues have me trying new things here and there.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Inuk IS a handsome animal. I never thought of putting him to stud - good idea, Karen.

I just talked to the OT from Home Care - I've been approved for full coverage with Aids To Daily Living, for medical equipment, so they can take back the loaners and give me my own to keep - hooray! Nice to know we qualify.
She also said that the snow was crunchy enough that I should be able to get out and walk. That's good to hear too. Cabin fever is not fun. I'd like to get to Adrianna's and do some crafting. She'll teach me how to cross stitch again :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie is never ends for you, just feel better and another health issue presents itself..I fell like a drug provider lol. Pat will have her shoulder operated on and June's leg is gone so I had bought at the $$$ store stateside then found out our had it in stock, called "arctic ice" I have mega rubs but this cheaply is better..pat and June both agree.

Found a package of hamburger, cooked it and added it in the sauce, I'll eat it and see how I like it.

With the sun so strong it's melting top layer of snow and in the cold has turned to ice..I'm staying in..

Had done a few doll quilts, couple faces, different quilting, 2nd one on right is a no go

Because I strayed on my list of to do's (finishing etc)I found a large throw that I need to finish quilting and binding..

Perhaps I will have a nap, sun beaming in the couch, am sure if I do I'll feel as though I'm laying in the Florida sunshine

This morning there was a torn shower curtain, asked Ziggy who did it?? Said 'not me, not me' who am I to believe??

Oh Betty, Love love love that quilt in the blues and yellows! And looks like Daisies.
Still snuggle with my special one daily.

The dolly quilts are so cute. Your imagination can go wild....and even turn one into a boy with little overalls for the little guys. Gives them great coordination and imagination to do those things.

Tried to go out. Still only 17....Afraid of the camera in the cold will damage the lens.

Hate to say it but think I am going to have to return it. Camera itself was expensive...I put it on a CC card. BUT...I need the bigger lens to do anything of distance further than 20 feet. Cheapest decent I can find starts about $300!!!! Just not possible with all the attachments I think. Will look for refurbished on Amazon...but geez.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will they let you return it seeing it's been a few weeks Debbie? How about those hock stores?? Seems to me when I've seen them they always have lots of jewelry and camera's

Did see the boy quilt, I've different hair patterns, there you go again trying to give me something else to do lol

I've got a lazy on

I have 30 days to decide to return. Has been 2 weeks.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I like both faces - big eyed doll, and the demure one, too.
oh Ziggy - naughty kitty! Who're you trying to palm the blame off on, Betty? I think not...... she's not given to nocturnal shredding lol

Holy Hannah, cameras are expensive, eh? I'm sure you can find a decent one that's appropriate for your use and won't cost an arm & a leg.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan , Dianne and "M", let's do the happy dance, yes you sasan, well maybe you can pretend to dance while Dianne, "M" and I pick up the slack. Lol

Forbes just announced the 30 most reputable countries in the world..ok we dropped from 1st 2015 but 2nd is something to celebrate..singing 'Oh Canada'

Hooray - I'm chair dancing, Betty - I know that our health care is good, and yes, I'm feeling peaceful here. Doing great, Canada!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

With this being our 150th Anniversary Susan, we've much to be proud of..it's about time we are patriotic..

Wanted so bad to have a nap but decided if I did I'd not sleep tonight so had my bath, nighty on, kitty on one side of me, quilt binding to sew on the other and a dessert waiting to be eaten..snow falling and I'm warm..things don't get much better than that right

I LOVE the cookie sheet over the keyboard!!!! Great idea Betty.
Norm and I spent the day cooking chicken soup and baking mini loaves of banana bread, chatting with our neighbor (he is going to make sure we are shoveled out) and watching a bit of TV.
Loved the videos of Inuk. He is gorgeous.....

Betty, a friend of mine shared this post on facebook:

ATTENTION CANADIANS

We're pleased to announce the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will air LIVE in Canada on the National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild and FOX Sports Racing simultaneously on Monday & Tuesday evenings from 8-11pm ET

So it sounds like you will be able to watch the groups live! Breed judging should be streaming live on the westminsterkennelclub.org website during the day.

Deb

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Fantastic for you Betty! Thanks Deb

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thank you Deb, not sure I get those channels but hope so...certainly am going to try the link you provided the other day..

Lol Barb..Ziggy was flying from the couch onto computer stand and Lordy what program and things were coming up so had to do something, this seems to work plus because of the metal he seems to stay away as he cant get his claws into it..right now he is hiding under the throw I'm sewing the border on..

What a fun day you both had, nice of neighbor to make sure you will be plowed out and look all the goodies you've got for the freezer unless of course norm gets into the sweets.

Verona, ON

Thanks Deb. I don't know about Betty but those channels are 'extra' for me. I have been thinking about getting Nat Geo - the satellite company that I have gave us that channel free for a month. I enjoy Pitbulls and Paroles . Think I mangled the spelling of the show title...lol

Oh Barb I could hear and feel the joy in your post. Warren used to call days like that 'stolen days'.Banana bread sounds very good right now.

Think the TH and I might go ice fishing for a bit tomorrow. The 4 of us have cabin fever. I'll get 1 of the guys to spud a hole near our dock in the morning. But if I catch some fish I have to clean them. Sure would love some cold water perch though.

I was wrestling with the same thing Betty ... nap or not.I get so tired but when I get to bed at night I am wide awake like a hoot owl.

Sharon woo hoo Debbie and I need your sleep angels.

Pat I hope things are falling into place for you. Bet Ben will be more than glad to get home.

Hope to get back but if not stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne and her TH

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh watch yourself Dianne, will be an icy trip to the bay to ice fish...who are you with Dianne, Bell/Rogers? Too bad you don't have harnesses for the dogs, just think of the ride you could habpve..my first boyfriend, even remember his name, Maurice quesnelle, would pick me up just after supper and we would go to his house play cards with his parents..he had team of dogs/sleigh, did take long for us to get across the bay..I lived on one side he lived on the other side right across from each other

Trying to stay up till 10,grrrr just took me 45 hours to get tv working again, so many wires, wi fit etc, well that Ziggy got behind the stand, got caught, started to struggle or play and wires from most of the components, shaking my head..this is worse than having little ones.

Oh well, cleaned the dust bunnies from behind the stand

Good morning everyone. T.G.I.F.

Kind of fogging and a light drizzle this morning. But is supposed to warm up this afternoon.

Going to be a full moon tonight with a partial eclipse, and a comet about 2 in the morning.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Betty.

Lyndonville, NY

Morning, Not much sleep again.

DH got a text late last night and saw it at 4:30 when up for work. His mom took ill and
is in hospital with blood clots in her lungs. So she will be in a few days. Trying to convince him to stay with his dad this weekend. If he falls will be a big issue. Both are to darn stubborn

Needing some coffee and shaking my head at pooooor Ziggy getting scolded for TRYING to help. hehehe I feel your pain and know it well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about hubbies parents. Sending prayers.

Verona, ON

Good morning everyone

Well I didn't get ice fishing just lost my urge to do it. Absolutely gorgeous day out there but still very icy. The 4 of us have a bad case of cabin fever. We spend so much time outside most days it makes it hard to stay in. I'll do some doggie pushups with the TH that will tire them out. I hate pushups so will use the treadmill if my body will let me.

Knew the full moon is tonight - too much wildlife on the prowl after dark right now. Duke especially is intense. Doesn't help that Diesel showed Duke how to bark at the image from the TV in the window. It is always the same window even though the next window has a clearer image.

Betty I have Bell. They seem to be shuffling programs around - wondering if they are going to change their bundle of shows . I used to watch Bookland TV 529 for me but they have eliminated that from my bundle. I used to watch Soap and China Beach there.

Pat any news about Ben coming home ?

To quote Ernie Weed who used to end his posts with I am going to do something even if it is wrong.
Dianne and TH

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

www really missing Ernie.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, prayers for your MIL..HOPE Paul does go spend weekend with his dad..does he not have brothers who also are in same area as his mom/dad? Am sure with your kitties Debbie you know full well how much trouble they can get into lol..if Ziggy keeps this up I'll crate him amd bring him to Buffalo next weekend..am sure one more wouldn't be too much trouble. Lol

Dianne, glad you played it safe and didn't do the ice fishing
When talking to my gran nephew the other night he said he cancelled going to cognacs hence island (up near Henry's Deb) because ice is poor, imagine smaller body of water with less current would be safer"know how think it is..great saying...

Am sure he is greatly missed....

Splurged and bought myself the stitch regulator I wanted, I should be housebound for a few months as I've used up that much allowance..justified it as I have a birthday coming up and think I've been a good girl this past year

Still on the couch, like you Dianne, had a zillion things I'd like to do but not getting done

Verona, ON

Just got back in from doing a couple of wheel barrels of wood in for the night.Started out in my wellies took 1 step out of the car port and turned right around. Needed my work boots so I could get a good purchase.

The TH did some sit/down/stays. Diesel and Duke do it perfectly. Chaos tries but all he does is make me laugh. He flops around and I figure he gets enough energy burnt off doing that. He is so darn cute. He has the attention span of a gnat.

Betty people are driving their trucks and cars across the lake. The 1 end of the lake is still open. It never freezes and several of the locals like to get some air and jump over the open water. They usually start around midnight. I just am glad I don't have to see it.

Sure hope Paul listens to you and spends the weekend at his dad's.Win/win on all sides right ? Sending healing thoughts for you MIL.

Karen I miss Ernie very much. I talked to him almost daily. It was his fault I was growing 60 - 80 tomato plants each year. That was back when I canned and preserved everything. He would send me seeds of new tomatoes he had tried. I actually think I am going to make some chili sauce this year ... sometimes ketchup just doesn't do it.

How goes the day for you Susan ? Just keeping on doing those exercises.

LK what will your temp get up to today?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Dianne. It is 77 today. Nice temps for sure.
