Best/Worse/What did I Learn today?visit with friends old/new..join in?
Morning everyone,
Schools are cancelled, everything is still covered in ice..you would be proud of me, I cleaned out a few things from refrigerator and filled one of those grocery shopping bags, garbage didn't get picked up yesterday so thought why not add this bag, looked outside and drive is a skating rink, said self, not smart, keep it for next week. Lol
Again craving for sweets so made muffins, take one for your coffee please.
Joanne just called, she was going to visit me but thought she would wait due to road conditions so likely a day talking to myself and Ziggy..Ziggy's bad. Lol
Dianne, did you get this ice? Think Debbie did.
Susan, how many more sleeps before surgery?
Deb, Westminster show soon to happen, you don't enter? Do you have friends that do so I can watch while keeping an eye on Inuk?
Lindakay, what are you working on? Know barb's doing needlework..
Judy are you finally after much organizing getting to make something for that baby..meant to ask, did you cut more of the lanterns for Christmas gifts, using your tools?
Liz,meow are you and Kenny doing..one of these days I will do like Judy and drop in for a dpfew days
Wonder how Sharon is doing?
Know I've missed someone but time to go downstairs
Still no sewing projects here. I need to get my machine back out, and start working on something, now that I don't have the crud anymore.
were doing good betty,
not doing much just spoiling the dog who is out of control lol
just love ziggy so darn cute hope your feeling better.
hoping to sew this weekend with no interuptions!
oh would be so much fun if you snuck into California.
We warmed up a bit and the ice is going away, hope yours does too Betty. Even supposed to stay above freezing at night for a while. We'll be a mud mess but better than ice. Love that you have Ziggy for company.
No, I've never been to Westminster. Not sure who's going that I know, but if there's a red dog there named GrCh Pahlavi Itz Not My First Rodeo, he would be my choice to win. Can't think of any other dog in the country that I've seen that's nicer than him.
All rain, and MUD here! Backyard has standing water. While ice is bad, I'd really prefer snow and below freezing temps to this 40's and rain we're getting. Winter is usually the one season the dogs stay cleanest because the yard is frozen, not this year!
Liz, don't think the girls will go on our annual ROADTRIP, Rita wants to take her family to east coast about time we usually go so who knows, just might be a good time..what will you be sewing?
Where is your machine Lindakay, I'd so miss not having a working machine
Day surgery tomorrow
5 more sleeps until my knee surgery
We're trying to get funds for the trips to Calgary (3 return trips in 1 week) and Senior Outreach is working on our behalf, to help. They are helping as much as they can.
That is good news Susan..always expensive parking as well.
My sewing machine is stuffed in the spare bedroom, that seems to be a catch all room. When I sew I have to use the kitchen table.
Good luck on getting the funds you need Susan.
Bob wouldn't park - he'd drop me off as he did last week.
Drop me off for procedure tomorrow as he did last Wed.
He does have to pick me up tomorrow ("responsible adult" lol does Bob qualify?) and again after my knee surgery. These are the only times we have to pay for parking. Yes, Calgary parking IS expensive - unfortunately my 1st born child doesn't live here lol It would be a toss up anyway - would it be mine, or his, first born? hmmmmmm
Morning all,
High if 36 expected today, overcast but no snow..still very icy outside
Decided I will go into midland later this afternoon, have my hair cut and pick up supper..need some fresh air.
Morning everyone. Dull gray day here.
It's hard to stay inside isn't Betty ? The TH and I have been on very limited outside time the last few days. I don't know who is more antsy - me or them.
All good things come to an end and with that said Santa Warren's Gift Exchange is retiring. You have no idea how much you all were in keeping Warren's spirits up the first year. He could hardly wait for me to see who gave what .... And I thank you from the bottom of my heart very much for that.. It's hard to believe this was the 5th year ... it feels like it was just a few months ago.
I see Mary's city is under a flood watch. Sending positive thoughts that way.
Susan sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
I have hives again on my forearms. My fault I brought in an armful of wood with my arms bare. Finding lots of snake skins in the wood pile.
Betty when is the TV clip about your DS's dog air ?
LK I chuckled when I read that your second bedroom is a catch all room. Ours is the same. One day the double closet exploded out into the room What a mess. I also have Duke's large crate in there too.
A banana is calling my name - stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne and her TH
Nice seeing your post, do miss when you don't and worry about you, especially with this icy weather.
Ohhh snake skins, that would do it, wouldn't be back getting more wood..how long once you have the hives do they leave..you will have to leave a garment at the door just so you are completely covered.
Sharon is waiting to hear from them..perhaps it will be after the show but I will let you know.
I love my gifts from Santa Warren exchange, with being housebound sure enjoyed ghost chocolates.deb sure sent me a lovely box of goodies and most for Christmas and you know me and Christmas...lol
I'm on the couch, is my downtime..get to go back downstairs at 11
Nice to see you posting Dianne.
When you say Santa Warren gift exchange is retiring, I hope you just meant for last year. I so look forward to it every year.
Betty, if you have to go out, please be careful on those icy roads.
I've only participated in the Santa Warren exchange the past two years, and really enjoyed putting together the boxes I sent, though didn't realize how long it would take for Betty's box to arrive (I know you all warned the Canadian Postal service was slow), and I felt really bad about that. I have some treasured momentos from wonderful friends here on DG. I'll miss it if it doesn't continue.
That ice takes some time to melt, so do be careful going out. We've had mid 40's and rain, so most ice is cleared here, but early mornings it's still a bit slippery.
I'm sure she meant for this year,, I too look forward to it every year,,I only now participate in two specialty events..Santa Warren gift exchange and the annual workshop..smiling big time as I already have everything I need to do the 11th (imagine) annual craft workshop, so yep, sure hope there is a 6th.
Not feel bad Deb, I enjoyed it more, you know we all get the blues after Christmas so it ave me something to look forward to.
Caleb sent me the photo shoot, he is the lawyer and think one of the main characters
Nice photos. Love the costumes.
Caleb looks so distinguished. Great job on his shirt Betty.
I hope Dianne only means Santa Warren is done for this year. I too only do that and the craft with you Betty. I would be so unhappy to think it won't continue. If it is a problem Dianne, or if it brings too many hard memories, maybe we can now change the name. I will always consider this group of people as my Santa Warren group. You know how Norm and I felt regarding Warren and I'll understand now matter what. Praying all the ice disappears quickly.
I made it, I made it, first outing in forever..got hair chopped off and I mean chopped off, went to Walmart and bought a few things, seeing I m lounging bought some lounging pants..had enough though, was glad to get home..glaring lights while driving wasn't good..having hot chocolate and sweets then have black locorice and chocolate bar for night time treat..won't be long I'll be settled in bed
Melanie called, she was telling me Greg still has the flu, told her he is not to visit me until he is sure he no longer has it.
That is good that they are calling first. You don't need anything else wrong.
Hoping Lorna is doing okay. Know she doesn't like hospitals but sometimes we just need to bite the bullet. Keeping her in my prayers.
Also read that Lorna's not doing well, sure hope they can get pneumonia under control..would imagine any infection takes her down quickly..she is blessed having
"M"
Calling it a night
I'm hungry and son is bring home take out food. I'm tired and crabby, got to work after braving the ice to discovery they had posted "delayed start at work 10.00 AM" Great except I START work at 7 and they made the announcement at 7.30! Oh well... I am sooooo far behind at work. We keep getting this lousy ice and needing to cancel appointments.
Prayers for Lorna - she's blessed having you there, M!
Dianne - I understand if you retire the "Santa Warren" because it is difficult for you. I hope in some way we will continue to have the Christmas Exchange. Next year I should definitely be able to take part again.
I remember getting my Christmas Exchange back at the beginning - wow, it made me feel so special!
Betty - did the neurologist call about the bleeding on the brain? I must have missed your comment on it
Dianne - are you allergic to snakes? Hope the hives clear up soon. Do the TH get into the woodpile after them durn snakes?
Had my procedure today - people are right, the prep is the worst part lol
4 more sleeps till I get my knee replacement - looking forward to recovery :)
Goodness, looks like everyone is sleeping in today!
I'm up, had company since 8:30..joanne picked up timmies coffee and donut..a treat for sure.
Well that is the pitz Pat, hoping that you tell them announcement for those who start earlier should be made earlier..hope things improve for you, not a wonder that you have down days
Susan, not many more sleeps..Suzanne called me this morning, DH Lenny had surgery on his knee yesterday in collingwood, all went well so here is hoping ours is same.
I will rest for a tad then I have 3 maple leafs, a trout and a lobster to appliqué on the Canada quilt then it's ready for the frame/quilting
A little hard to quilt with Ziggy laying in it
What is it about cats and quilts? Ziggy looks very comfy!
Found out when I go into the hospital - have to be there at 11:35 am, Monday, surgery is 3:05 for 1 1/2 hours, and as I'll be heavily sedated I can have visitors as of 8pm
I'll be back home Wed or Thurs.
Bob will be home, except for the drop off and pick up. He has work to do on our place, so it's a good thing :-D
Ziggy is growing like a weed!
Spent most of yesterday in vigil at my brother's bedside. Will be going back today unless the Lord called him during the night and I haven't heard yet. I will call hospital and check first as it is a 50 mile trip each way. Please say a prayer for his soul and for us.... Thanks friends
(((Barb)))
Morning all,
Barb, my heart goes out to you, difficult times for you and the family..very emotional
Sending prayers and as Judy says, biggest armwrap.
Susan they sure don't keep you in very long, a friend's sister had a quad bipass and was home within the week. A blessing that Bob will be home to help out.
Making a list and checking it twice, where have I heard that before lol
Now watch me, I will forget it and come home with half of what I need..even doing it in proper seen ce re stores so I'm not running to and fro, want to be home within 1-2 hours.
Not a cold dY out there, think 36, no sunshine but no snow..calling for snow for the next few weeks so best take advantage of this nice weather.
Again Barb, thoughts are with you!
Prayers being sent, Barb!
Prayers for you and your family Barb.
Hugs to you Barb, dear friend.
Sending lots of thoughts and prayers for you and the family Barb!
Hugs to you and your family Barb .. always in my thoughts..
~M~
Thank you so much for the love I see here. I'm sad to say that he lost his fight but our God accepted him about 10 pm. He was the best brother a girl could have and I'm lucky I still have two more!!
I am so sorry for your loss, Barb!
So sorry Barb. (((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))
