Cut and home again. :-)
Hubby does wear hearing aids but of course not at night. I guess I'll have to plan future heart attacks for day time.
Pat so glad you are seeing the end of the dolls for this year. I packed you a box of ribbon, laces and elastic but as you nearly at the end didn't send. If you get into this again next year, I'll send it then.
Huge excitement yesterday, hubby called me to look and see what was in the trees. We thought maybe a turkey but then it spread it's wings and tail and I could tell it was a bald eagle. I bit later it was joined by its mate and they hung around for a long time. I have seen them doing fly overs but never this close. I tried for photos but it was snowing so hard and getting towards dusk so not very clear. It's almost nesting time for them so hoping they will stay close. Click to enlarge photo and scroll down, you can just make out their white heads.

We have seen them a time or two soaring over the lake. There are a lot of small lakes in this area and also plenty of woods. Eagles are another that mates for life.
Betty that photo of Ziggy on the wreath would make a perfect Christmas card.
Awe, I love that picture of Ziggy. Looks like you made that just for him.
My quilts are 5 feet X 6 feet. Big enough for a twin bed I think.
Love the eagle pictures Karen.
I agree....Betty that is the cutest picture!!! Frame-able!
DH had problems laying in bed....so slept in recliner. I slept on the sofa in case he
needed anything. His nerve block wore off about 5:00....and he is taking meds as needed for pain. Said the thumb is throbbing a bit.
Not a dang thing wrong with his appetite though.
Got you fetching and feeding huh? LOL
Ziggy is cute. I did not see answer to question if your 2nd kitty would be another Maine Coon? Can't remember who offered one from the next litter.... 1/2 heimer working my way to Alzheimer.
Ziggy sure is a cutie!!
Was hoping to get most of my Christmas shopping completed this weekend, my daughter and I are both taking the day off work on Monday, so we can go shopping together. Just heard on the news that they're predicting 8+ inches of snow between Saturday night and Monday morning. Maybe that will keep some of the crowds down at the malls!
Deb
The TH are woofing with joy as they hear Santa Warren's gifts are making their way across the sky.
Oh Betty the pic of Ziggy is wonderful. He looks like he is full of beans.
No snow just cold here.
Sharon I need your sleep angels please.
Thought maybe this year I would put out my handmade International Santas that I have collected - can't do it as the buffet is no longer here.
Barb listen to your doc. We want you with us for a long, long time.
BBL
Dianne and her TH
I agree - picture of Ziggy is the kind that Christmas cards are made of :-)
lol Plan your timing of your heart attacks - too funny, Karen
Still have water - Bob's heading under the mobile to put Wrap inside the skirting, which should help keep the heat underneath, and may help our floors keep the heat.
I had 2 presents to send for Christmas and got them out today. One's for my daughter & SIL, and the other to my friend Susan in Georgia. I was busy knitting for Susan, and sent two hats with embroidered pugs on them to my daughter & SIL showing one black and one tan pug. Hope they like 'em. Funny, but it cost more to send the package within Canada by ground, than the one by air to the US
Morning all,
Deb hope you have a fun day with your daughter, nice to have someone to bounce gift suggestions on, now if the weather cooperates..any dog shows coming up? sharon left for Orlando,Florida earlier this morning with pouches for a show, long drive.
That is great news Barb, kind of news that puts topping on Christmas..now to slow down
Susan, hate mailing from Canada..Sooo very expensive and service sit that great.am sure items will be appreciated.
Dianne, they are keeping sleep angel USA side..we will have to depend on sandman..are they calling for bad weather in your area this weekend
Debbie, was it a good night for Paul?
Didn't snow last night but they are calling for squalls this afternoon, here is hoping it clears by tomorrow for those driving from the city!
Last minute shopping this morning, have to wait til 9:00for bakery to open, need sweets and did tally, short on Greg/Kyle and Caleb's gift so have to look for something, want to be home by noon
While waiting for stores to open I'm trying to hand sew binding but Ziggy has other ideas..after plunging the snowmen he decided to be comfy and lay on the piece I'm sewing
Best I get that needle going
Oh Betty - Ziggy is a charmer for sure. Love the photos!!!!!
Glad to hear Paul lives Deb!!!! Keep the snacks coming I guess.....

Looks like Ziggy is telling you, you have other plans! :)
Oh I am chuckling so much at Ziggy! Betty he is your new supervisor and will make you rest.....whether you like it or not. His play time is "me time" and you need to bond with him. Be his person. lol Especially since you will be gone a few weeks.
Finally getting some snow here. Just an inch so far....but weather man said "It is coming over from Georgian Bay" SO I know who sent it!!!
Paul is doing pretty good, thank Heavens. He has been resting, has full feeling back....along with the throbbing starting. BUT says it is manageable. His Boss has called twice to check on him.
Enjoy your day all....
The only shows left for this year are for Bonnie. She'll be in Orlando next week for 4 shows. Not showing at the big show on the weekend, too political, but showing at the all breed shows and the Afghan Hound specialty leading up to it.
I love the Ziggy pics!!
Isn't Ziggy just TOO CUTE!!! Really gets me wanting another cat and then I remember what I would be risking and the problems associated and talk myself out of one. (how many "ands" can one sentence have??)
Seems like Ziggy is your Christmas present to yourself, Betty
I finished the two hats I made for our landlords, finally. It took 3 tries to do Bill's cuz I was doing it too small. I'll take the first 2 attempts to the church, for their Mitten Tree. They will fit some kid, or teen :-)
Quite the day, Lordy I'm a tired 😴
You know the kind of tired you are Christmas Eve after wrapping all the gifts, gettin goodies/eats ready for the big day then remembering that one person you have no gift for..well that's the kind of tired I am and this is my Christmas Eve.
Mom got here early afternoon, helped me where she could..enjoyed our day
It's night night everyone
Nothing like coming up with a last minute gift. But knowing you, you will have something made quickly.
Santa arrive Betty? Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Dianne and the TH
Merry Christmas Betty. And to all your family too... Have a wonderful day full of love and surprises.....
Merry Christmas Betty.
Had a lovely evening last night at the Community Christmas Party - cocktails, dinner, and dancing. I didn't dance, but I did move well enough that people were asking about how come I do dance moves (the twist) better than I walk.........
Pat & Glenn bought us our first drinks - lovely neighbours.
Woke up this morning late, so missed church :-(
After getting up, our kitchen water pipe burst, so Bob quickly shut off the water outside. Called the company that helped us unfreeze on Wed, and they'll be out around dinnertime today to see what they can do. They know our financial situation, so it's all good.
Very different Susan. Did you Google knitted puzzle pieces?
Evening all,
Been quite the day, everyone left for home, some travelling involved and bad weather to do it in..ended up with 24, 8 couldn't make it because of the weather..didn't take long to clean up, ordered in Chinese, everyone ate well, Melanie took food enough for 10 home and I've got about same..will treat Tuesday's gals
Everyone loved their gifts..I got $$$ from everyone and gift cards from several of the grandkids so a shopping I shall go
Even pressies for Ziggy, everyone played with him, he is sound asleep, everyone tired him out.
Just going to have coffe/cake and come back to respond to some posts..
awwwwww poor Ziggy - how sweet that an energetic kitten should be so worn out lol Guess you'll get a good night's sleep tonight! Glad you enjoyed your Christmas, Betty!
I guess I should google knitted puzzle pieces! Would have to be sure they'd fit, but stretching them a little to make sure would be ok, as long as it's not too much :D
Plumber's here, and fixing our water pipe. Thank goodness!!!
Well I've asked about the chenille several times with no response. Sorry Betty I tried, You'd think when someone was trying to sell something they would respond.
Morning everyone. Looks like it will be another nice day. supposed to be around 60 this afternoon.

Susan, check these patterns out.
All buses are cancelled. No getting out the lane until it is plowed. I could probably get out but don't need to until early Tues. morning. Need to see the dentist.
I am soaking wet as are my clothes. Just spent some time outside shoveling steps off, bringing in wood and playing with the dogs. I need a shower .... I stink.
Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne and her TH
Stay safe and warm Dianne.
Betty, are you still sleeping?
I can picture poor little Ziggy, exhausted from all that play and totally zonked out!
Sorry to hear more water problems Susan. I wonder what the long term fix can be. We had to actually change the structure of a small portion of our house to accommodate more insulation and protection for a vulnerable area and never had problems again after frozen pipes several different Christmases! . We had a split level house and the upper floor was bigger than the basement, all the bathroom plumbing ran in that area that "hung over" beyond the basement walls. That's where it kept freezing. We extended that area, STUFFED it full of more insulation and that gave it the protection it needed.
At our mobile home in Boise, we wrapped the pipes with heat tape.
We got snow last week, then a little more off and on for days, THEN last night SEVERAL more inches. This is not the storm that is predicted for LATER in the week that is expected to give us another 7 to 9 inches. Bear in mind... we have had years when we got NO snow. This is kind of unusual for us. I am so glad I got a hair cut last Friday!
*sigh* I have to go back to work tomorrow, these 4 days off have been really nice. SEWING and SEWING and did I mention sewing??? I've been working on the dolls with my sister. Got another 13 simple nightshirts/ & cut down sleepers made last night after getting home from Marie's. I had a stack of "ready" stuff and working in my OWN set up is so much faster for me than Marie's but we'd rather be together.
Dianne - please keep warm & dry - do not want you getting sick in the middle of winter - that would be nasty.
Karen - I'm pretty sure that Betty answered about the chenile?!?!
LK - Thanks for the links, however I don't crochet. The one I saw was knitted. It looks like it could be done, but I get confused and don't want to make my own pattern. I guess I could just "suck it up" and figure it out though. With all the other things on our plate, I don't want to teach myself something lol
Woke up this morning, and the kitchen pipes were frozen - no water there. Bob did get it thawed quickly though, thank goodness. It does mean poor Bob will have to get under the mobile and do some more insulating though. Temps bumped up a wee bit, but it's going to drop down again before the week's over and I know we'll have more frozen water pipes. siiiiiiiiiigh
Glad the guy came last night and replace the section of pipe that burst yesterday morning. This is getting pretty expensive, using heaters all night........
So sorry Susan, this is all I can find for knitting.
This one is $5.00

Frozen pipes... oh joy! My heart goes out to all of you facing this problem. We used to leave the cold water running - just a trickle- to keep the pipe open.
No sooner did I get in and start trying to get my laundry room tidied up and Dave the plow guy came through. Sure glad I remembered to move Duke's leash - it would be there until Spring. Now I have to go out and shovel off the steps again and behind the Escape. He leaves a deep pile of snow behind the Escape which is in the carport.
Do you have to work Christmas Day Pat ? I remember you from a thread waaay back in DG history. There was a lady named Rose on it I think and it was either her DH or another DGer's who taught spinning.
Thanks LK for the links. I like to crochet so maybe that will spur me on to starting again.
Betty did Ziggy let you sleep in ? Hope everything is OK with you.
Dianne and her TH
No Dianne, I quit the mental health crisis work 3 years ago. NO more holiday work, weekends or middle of the night having to go to some hospital or driving in freezing rain to a town 60 miles away. Took a big cut in pay but it was SOooooooo worth it to sleep at night.
Glad you're not having to go out at un-Godly hours, and in all kinds of weather anymore, Pat! I'll bet it IS worth it, to be able to stay in comfy/cozy in the winter :-)
Yeah, where is Betty? Are you eating Turkey leftovers? lol
We're applying for a Seniors Home Adaptation and Repair Program (SHARP) to see if they can help us make our home meet code, as we can't do it ourselves.
