Morning all,
Gorgeous day out there, almost tempted to get stained glass pieces and sit and add them to the cement bench I'm doing for Paul but to do that must get off my nut. Lol
After Christmas I will follow suit pat amd Susan and do some purging, that being said did it in the spring, used mega fabric for projects so likely it's more an organizing task than a purging task.
Sorry Susan about the tenants, maybe ignoring the situation would be your best option as their sending a card is just to get you on edge.
Sharon is coming tomorrow to do more Christmas crafting as she so enjoyed Saturday..best I tidy up a bit today as there are projects everywhere
Breakfast calling , will get dressed then it's finding the energy I need today
What are you all up to? Ikely tired from your thanksgiving right?

Sorry I have been missing in action. Went to Omaha for dog shows over the weekend. Coming home the alternator went out in my car. Had to wait until Monday to get it fixed. Didn't get home until late, yesterday. Came in and went straight to bed, overslept this morning for work, so I had to stay late to make up time. Ugh!
Thank you so much Linda Kay for the Christmas box!! I'll have to post pics as soon as I find my camera. The placemats are just lovely, and that fudge! Wow! That fudge! what more can I say!! The Santa mug is so cute, and the Santa tea light set, and the mulled apple cider, yum! And the cherry Hershey's kisses, too! What a wonderful surprise to come home to!!
Sorry to hear you had car problems.
Keep the fudge in the fridge.
Hooray - the Building Inspector came today, and PASSED Bob's work! He's now put a sidelight next to a 2x5' window, and will be putting another one on the opposite side. Then he can install the outside door. Then it's insulation, interior and exterior wrap, and electricity & heating ductwork....... then drywall, etc........ oh, can hardly wait for THAT stage!!!
I don't want to make you sad Betty, but I really missed seeing Missy in those photos. The quilt room seemed to be her favorite place!!!
What are you using the three white globes for?
Sad as well..for 10 years she was always by my side...wipe a tear
Greg dropped in yesterday, said "mom you need a kitty" that I do..need something to love and to talk to!
Globes will be snow ladies..got to buy ribbon and white flat spray for the globes then make a hat..do not need anymore Xmas gifts, they are coming out of the yang yang. Lol
Finished the 4 tree skirts, even added ties..
Will paint the other 6 lanterns this morning while I wait for Sharon to arrive, she has the Christmas bug (a little) hates Christmas but I am converting her..even picked the tree skirt to do together come January.
Had my coffee, best get at it
I love that snow lady! Where do you get the hats?
Make them..will just enlarge my pattern that I did for wine glasses last year or decrease pattern from snowlady..there again both Riley and Missy would lay in her lap..
Good morning everyone. Are you all hibernating?
40 degrees here in Texas this morning. Still no hard frost.
Working on a couple QOVs. Will be presenting to a WWII Veteran on the 27th. Started out as him, his wife and son. Has grown to a hall, over 25 guests, and a reporter. I think it's wonderful as there are so few left from WWII to honor.
Also finished top for a memorial quilt for a fire fighter who passed last year. He founded and was chief of a Tennessee volunteer fire dept for over 20 years. It's at long armers then will add patches, brass buttons and pins from his dress coat.
Weather is still pretty mild here but I'm already freezing anyhow. I just so need to get away from here.
You are keeping busy for sure. Bless you for your work making these quilts.
41 here right now, light mist..keep looking at long term weather prediction, still calling for snow on dec11th..guess a bit of snow is ok, just don't want a blizzard..
Karen you sure are a blessing..know the lord has angel wings with your name on them..you will not need them for ions though..
Photo of Sharon's treasures..Saturday projects and yesterday's sure used every inch of the fabric she bought..
Worked Sharon hard yesterday, while she worked I sewed 3" blocks together, one snowman quilt short, I've others I can give but you know me, I'll work as hard as I can to get it done.
5 more maple leaves to appliqué and I can put the my Canada quilt on the frame for quilting, gives me a week to get it done..
Getting there, celebrate mine then watch ou all enjoy yours..must add that Deb got her lovely gift from you Lindakay
Morning everyone.
Another dull gray here today. I hate these days as the seem to suck all the energy out of me. It can be gray and snowing and I am fine. Going to take my trusty leaf blower out soon and get rid of the leaves that have blown back. I am more concerned about having a breeding area for skeeters in the spring.
When do you leave Betty ?
Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne and her TH
Betty, a while back you were looking for some white chenille. Did you find it and if not what size did you need?
Today I am going to start working on a Round Robin quilt center.
I just have to put away my computer screen & keyboard, and put the sewing machine on the table. I have a folding table that I can do any cutting on, and I found my cutting mat & quilt rulers. I'm pretty sure I know where my rotary cutter is, and I moved all my fabric stash next to me, in a wicker drawer'd storage stand :-)
I'm getting there!!
Sounds good Susan. Once you start doing your 'things' you will start to feel likes it home.
I am so angry I could spit ! I've been dealing with 2 firms in Toronto with something that time is of the essence. I am seriously thinking about changing my insurance carrier - the whole shebang dental, drugs, medical, car and house. And add my woes with Purolator - the only courier each company deals with. I am sure the big smoke that you see is not TO it is me.
Guess my boys thought I needed cheering up. Duke saw a squirrel when I was getting their food ready... I had my back turned.... I turned around and Duke was outside running in circles barking. What a stinker. Another reason why I hate the windows in this house - they are cranks so a good push opens them. He came right back in so I went to finish getting their food ready and something bumped me. I looked down and there was Chaos with my prayer shawl (made by a DGer) over his head. It was on the back of the recliner where I sit.
Oh great I am breaking out in hives. Can being upset and stressed do that to you ?
Later when I am in a better frame of mind.
Dianne and her TH
Stress can cause hives big time. I take Zyrtec when I get them.
I have some Benadryl so will take one and hope. LK was it you who had a horrible case of hives?
D
Evening all,
Karen, gave up the idea of doing my chenille pillows because I could not find any so perhaps I will put it on my Christmas list of things to do this January, now you know I'll start then😜
Big sigh Dianne, you are having a time of it for sure..hoping tomorrow is a better day for you..those furries sure bring smiles when reading your posts..makes me think of the joy Missy brought..and yes, stress can bring on hives
Susan, you must be feeling better to have gotten out your sewing..I still have two batches of squares to turn into a quilt, more to do's for next year. Having everything close by will sabe your knees.
Just got in from Barrie, I drove through sunshine, rain, sleet, snow and fog but am home safe and sound, imagine one morning in midland ought o finish Christmas.
Last night I could smell something burning then a beeping and lights flashing in my iron, unplugged it, thought this morning it might work, not.,don't want to use my good one that lifts itself when you take your hands off it, too many using it so dropped into Canadian tire, must have been my day because they had a lightprofessional shark, regularly $79.99 for $39.99, will do,,.. Can't complain because I use it absolutely every day as does the girls who come to sew..Santa stocking filler for me lol
Yes, I still get hives at least once a week. Wish I could figured out why.
Congrats on the new iron Betty. Sounds like a nice one.
About how much chenille did you need? I might have found some. It's not the lines though, it's dots but I think would work for a snow man.
Karen, that sounds like it would be adorable as a snowman!
Only a quilter could get excited about an iron. Lol
Been trying to sleep, no go..might get up for a bit then try again
Could do some wrapping
Morning all,
Taking my 1st coffee break
This no sleeping bug is the pitz but one gets a lot done during those quiet hours..
Finished putting all my squares together and now ready to cut out snow people,
My wooden piece needs new skirt, going to do it in the plaid and incase I have a few minutes between painting LAST of the lanterns
Hope sleep angles found you all
Thought I'd post a photo of the 4 Christmas tree skirts as I'm about to wrap them
Where can I find the pattern to this tree skirt Betty? I love the way it looks.
Sent you an email Barb, think it would look nice just as a throw
Betty, tell me about the tall wooden figure. The little snowmen tucked under the quilt is such a cute idea. I really like that.
Thanks Pat, did her skirt..she is very woodsy..she is glad she has a skirt lol
Tired, and rightly so, might have a bit of a nap so I can get my 2nd wind
Went into town and did pretty well all I had left to do..2 quilting projects and putting remainder of lanterns and I'm ready for family Christmas next Sunday.
Omg my craft room is a disaster area, will take photo..really I should tidy up a bit before continuing my projects
What are you all up to?
I'm working on a couple QOVs and a Memorial quilt for a friend who's fire chief dad passed away . Then I have a baby quilt to do for new great coming. Somewhere in there I want to build a couple lanterns.
Betty How much chenille do you need for the snowmen????
You are as busy as I, but are you making as much of a mess as I??
Would have to go back and try to find the pillow pattern I had Karen..where did you get your chenille blanket..keep telling LINDA who drops into 'almost new' facilities to look for one for me, not sure she hasn't forgotten.
Off to cut the last of 4 snow people out, doubts I will iron them on blue fabric but one never knows
Ate Swiss chalet when I got back from town so don't have to cook supper and bought a bag of licorice to munch on tonight so I'm a happy camper re filling my tummy
Babysitting the 3 month old grandbaby. He's been a little fussy for me so I'm happy he's sleeping now! I'm trying to finish cleaning & setting the hair for the remainder of the dolls. I've told Marie (Sis) we need to completely set this aside come this coming Friday, what is done is done. Turn it in and walk away until at least January.
Omg Pat, you are ambitious for sure to take this projects on again in the new year.
Bet you enjoy every minute of looking after the little one, will you be up,with him during the night or do you have him just for the evening?
Miss having little ones, was telling Kyle when he was here this morning that when I was in Canadian tire last night I walked through the toy department, motors looked so exciting, was tempted to buy them each one..
Kyle was looking for a ribbon for his truck, towing a 35 ft float in Santa Claus parade tomorrow, didn't have much ribbon, puny bow lol
While looking for ribbon looked for fabric Linda thought she left here to make an apron, no can finf but found a box with several snowmen we did a few years ago, you know the one with large shoes and dowel for legs'
Shaking my head, should every time there is a blizzard I make a point of finishing unfinished wood.
Was mild out today, let's hope it continues for at least a week..
Have a neighborhood Christmas gathering tomorrow night, remember going last year and we had freezing rain.. Steve walked me home, was afraid I'd fall
Think I'll close up,Santa's workshop for the night
Betty there was a person selling an item that had some chenille in it so I asked if she had any more. She asked how much I needed so That's why I asked you. If you have any idea or a guess as to what you need. I can see how much she has left.
I seem to have my mess spread all over as I still don't have my sewing room back. Everything is spread on beds upstairs. It was carried up there by others while I was gone so finding what I need is a challenge. I have to bring down what I need and sew on the table for now. It's a royal pain in the nether region.
Pat I do have a box of ribbons, laces and elastic set aside for you but will wait till next year before I send it. I figured you were about done for this year and didn't need the extra clutter.

Morning all,
Think you my USA friends are keeping the sleep angles your side of the border..gabbed with Linda here and there during the night, wide awake but forced myself to stay in bed until 6' enjoying a cup of coffee then down into Santa's workshop for the day.
Now on countdown, have to have everything ready as Sunday is my Christmas..by Saturday I have to make at least 4 floral arrangements, have everything quilted, meverything wrapped and have the craft room mDe into an eatery so likely half the reason I'm not sleeping..with my stating Christmas dec 26th last year how Am I running around doing and making things this week??
Karen, I'd say the chenille piece would have to be at least 16" square, would pay for chenille and postage for a few..
I will give you a preview of what I'm going downstairs to, cyclone zone, now let's see how much I get done by 3pm as I go out for community gathering at 5 and need to make myself presentable.

You have lot to do, but know you, you can do it.
How big are the scrappy snowman quilt. I think they would be cute to make for the smaller grandkids.
Mine are quite large but they could be downsized
Think the one I'm doing is 68" X 86"
You could use larger squares, first one was 2" squares, 2nd one 3" squares, think if I made another I'd make it at least 3 1/2" X 4"
But the idea was to use up scraps so had mega 3", think I had to cut up an extra 20 or so to finish project
Yep, no doubt I will finish on time
Have the snowmen applique'd, having bath/breakfast then then will sew the snowman topper to the blocks and prepare it..every time I move I look for something that can be put back it its place, think one calls it multi tasking😜
Lindakay, the 2" square one I bordered with 2 borders, this one is bigger so have to decide what to do..while deciding have to go to foodland get groceries to make pizza pie dip which I will cook 1/2 hr before I go to the gathering..might as well pick up enough to make for next Sunday.
Those are beautiful.
