What a gorgeous kitty!! I'm sure he wil be "helping" with your crafting soon enough!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I am 110% positive you did the right thing taking in Ziggy! He will help you so much....comfort, company and sleeping! Not to mention the crafts. Watch him with the centerpiece...the berries and plants can be poisoness....and they love to chew!!!
I have problem with Axl chewing on my artificial tree even

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

awwww what an adorable kitty! Betty - you are blessed with a little guardian (you said he won't leave your side :-) )

Deb - how awful about your DH's thumb!

Well, we're waiting for a Heating & Home Maintenance co to come by - we have had frozen water pipes for 4 days now. This is the worst, we can only get cold water in one room, nothing in the kitchen, and only cold in the bathroom sink, nothing in the bathtub, toilet or washing machine, of course.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will be on the lookout Debbie, mnot sure where he goes to rest, plays hard then off he goes..should make him a bed right?

Susan, nothing worse than not having water..at your other location did you have a heating element around the pipes..sure hope there is an easy fix

On a timeline, getting sidetracked..because they were calling for bad weather today Dave drove LINDA over to make an apron, her sil is a size 3x and loves to bbq'ing..when in Buffalo she bought John Deere tractor fabric (he loves anything John Deere) so there went a few hours..I was pleased I had enough left overs from past 2 nights that I was able to provide a nice lunch.so far storm hasn't reached us, think later tonight..

Need a few groceries so think I will go to foodland then come back and try to play catch up

With no sleep past few days one would think I'd be falling down dead tired but still going strong.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

We have heat tape on the pipe from the ground to the floor of our mobile (outside), but the lines are frozen from the floor up - between the outside, and the inside walls. We would have to tear out the cupboards in the kitchen (then remove the drywall).to get at the pipes. The cupboards are likely glued down, as Bob tried to unscrew them, but they won't budge.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Awe, Ziggy is so precious.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Ziggy is a love for sure!!! I know you are in love already.....

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

TWO kitties are an excellent idea! Can't wait to see who you pick for his playmate!

Lyndonville, NY

I think he would like a bed to curl up in. Sometimes if house is too busy for them they like to escape to a quiet spot. And kitties like to sleep still when so little.

I know mine prefer something with a hole....and kind of covered. But anything you pick will be fine.

Ziggy is a love, for sure - you're getting a 2nd one? They'll keep each other company when you're fabric shopping lol

Good news - the heating/home mtnc company came by (2 fellows) and they found where the pipes were frozen - right next to the water heater, a T-connection. They thawed it, and will wait for the payment $50, when we can afford it.
Also, because they're Home Maintenance, they can offer the help of a fellow who's an electrician, and someone who can help Bob with other parts of the building. Gosh, I hope so. I'll call the Senior's Outreach tomorrow, and get a referral, that they require. They also may help with financial assistance. All very nice, just before Christmas - we are so blessed.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue, I hope you get the help you need.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Linda :-)

Sleep evades me again, watched scorpion and ncis just started. Grrr

Debbie, thanks for info on sleeping accommodations for Ziggy..know you've had many kitties , Ziggy affectionate, does it take away from that when there is another kitty, ie play together and to heck with humans? Went into hiding for the night

Sure hope alll works out Susan..now that you've found where problems are is it unlikely to freeze again?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ive only been ere 2 days says Ziggy and I've learned that one has to get before crack of dawn, get chores done then you can rest while mom works in Santa's workshop..

I helped unload the dishwasher, then make the bed (ha ha, she will never know what happened to the flowers) then finally I will nap while she has coffee

Love Ziggy Betty. Yes I am sure he will love a buddy. Who will take him when you go south ?

I have hives again but this time I think I have figured it out. It is only in the area of where I have bare skin touching the wood blocks. Its probably the bark causing it.

Enjoy your days ladies.
Dianne and her TH

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy that will be hard on you as you are near bark all winter burning wood..Drats
Are you getting the storm we are getting, just snow but when the wiNd gusts come, poor to no visibility..sure hope it stays in my neighborhood so that Debbie can get to and from the hospital for Paul's operation.

Dianne, Kyle and Brittany will stay here for 3 weeks..I leave Thursday night, Going to Caleb's play Thursday night then need to be at airport for 3a.m. Friday morning..did make arrangements for Simcoe airport to pick me up but that was before I knew I had a play to attend..works better providing weather cooperates as I will be taking mom to Buffalo for the - few days when I return, will save me coming north to get car only to head right back.

Barb you mentioned your friend was coming crafting yesterday, maid she come?

Know you will get tired re photo's of Ziggy, just want to share for a bit then I will settle down, promise

Living room area a disaster already, what mischief they can get into

Going downstairs to see if I can find a bit of the same glass my snowflake was made out of, if I repair it Kyle will feel much better, felt so badly sitting on it..my fault for laying it down..then will finish another wreath IF Ziggy lets me

Poor Kyle Betty I am sure he does feel terrible.Love that irrid granite glass!! Is he still selling cars? I did a huge custom piece that was circular. The lady took it home put it down on the chesterfield and her cleaning lady sat on it. Another time a family cottaging here bought a special piece for their parents' 40 th anniversary. I warned them about not putting it
some place where people would sit. About 2 hours later they pulled up and came in with the piece (we pack them on 1/2 in styrofoam) and very long faces. They put it on the back seat, stopped to pick up their son who jumped in and sat on it.
Great plan for your departure Betty.
I should be all covered up LK but sometimes when when my supply needs topping up for overnight I run out in my bare feet and bare arms to grab some.
Oh Debbie NO coffee ??? The nerve!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

hahahaha Betty - I agree, Ziggy will lead you a merry chase! No sitting still, that one!
oh no on the "break by sitting"!!! Glad you can fix yours, Betty.

Dianne - were you able to fix the two pieces that broke back then?

Heading out to Olds, to see what we can get for financial assistance
Will chat later :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good luck Susan, hope there is some help out there for you and Bob..

Dianne, Kyle's dealership had top sales in Ontario last month..Kyle did very well with sales..will have to take a photo, no longer a boy but a man..Jeff turned 47 today..Lordy my baby is getting old, says something for me right?

Any hints Dianne for taking broken piece out without having to take it all apart?
Have to wait to see when you answer Susan re repairing items..heartbreaking for those who purchased item as well as for you, all that work you out into the pieces only to have them bro ken..

Braved the storm and went and got fries. D gravy, guess who learned to beg for food?

Feel like a nap but girls are coming tonight and I still have a quilt to finish quilting and put binding on so best not do it

Working on 4 of the snowman quilts, they still need eyes and carrot nose, then layered and quilted. 5 feet wide, 6 feet long. Nice and big for the kids to cuddle under.

Very cute quilt Linda. Loved it when I saw Betty's.

Cats can a handful at times. Ducky hollars if he can see the bottom of his dish, thinks he's going to starve. When one of us gets close, he runs to the food container and complains. I cut his rations a bit as he's getting a bit chubby. I know he's not starving as there are always a few pieces of food left in his dish.

Drats, forgot the snowmen, doing it now Lindakay
Sent Kyle e-mail, got the snowflake done

I too am working on snowman quilt
Doing 1/4 stitch each side down and across for quilting

We are home. DH did well. Screws in thumb and joint to hand. Has a cast and also cheese block to elevate. Haha

Snow started 5 miles from home. So far light flurries.

Hope Paul can do as he told and pain is bearable..too funny Debbie. Lol

Lindakay, you must remind me if I promise to do something and don't..just sent you body parts.😝

Verona, ON

Good job on the repair Betty!! It is so much easier when it is an outside piece. I used to hate when a repair was in the middle of something. You often end up cracking another piece as the solder gets too hot

Never too many pics of Ziggy. LK we haven't seen any pics of your dogs lately.

Paul looks so happy Debbie. At least he doesn't have to walk far for a snack.
Good to see you post Karen. I was getting worried you were stranded on the stairs on 1 of your trips up/down to get fabric.

No snow yet but the temp has really gone down. My hands are like a block of ice and I even had to put socks on. Bitter gusty wind out there. Duke is as close to the wood stove as he can possibly get without burning himself. The wood stove just keeps smacking its lips and saying more, more.

Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne

Verona, ON

LK I forgot to say how cute the snowman quilt is... made me smile

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had it been on inside I'd have just taken it all apart Dianne, glad it wasn't..I hear you talking of wood stoves, would so love one.,

Quite stormy here, wonder if Dianne and Janice will come tonight..don't live far so might..last winter they said it was blizzard night every Thursday.

Still sewing but with more breaks. Lol
Best I get my Christmas list and to do list out to make sure I'm not forgetting anyone and I do my grocery list so I can get it done tomorrow, want to relax Saturday..kids will be here early Sunday, if you can call early 10-11😛

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I would get stranded on the stairs too Dianne, Hubby is so darned deaf he'd never hear me call. That happened when I had one of my heart attacks. I woke up and went to the bathroom because I felt queasy. Pretty soon I was throwing up and then the pain started. I called and called but he didn't hear. Finally I grabbed the waste basket and started banging it on the floor as hard as I could. That he heard.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Oh Karen - I feel your anguish about your DH not hearing you. That would be so scary!!!! I had the same thing when I was in the bedroom with my heart attack. Bob was in the living room with his headphones on...... I called several times before he heard me. I'm sure our landlords heard, but they wouldn't do anything. I'm sure if I were alone and they were upstairs they wouldn't know I was dead until Bob came home & found me.
Thank goodness you had the waste basket (metal?) to bang so he heard you!!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, is your 2nd kitty going to be another Maine Coon kitty? NO< NOT TIRED OF PICTURES!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Slept better last night, of course having a kitty laying across your neck purring woke me a few times..

Karen/Susan, Guess both men say you mumble and they can't hear you right? 😜

Debbie how did Paul do overnight? Much pain?

Rules were here last night, didn't quite finish their projects so will come Wednesday night, cutting it close they are..

With coffee in hand off to finish quilting the snowman quilt..hope binding is on by noon then I can hand sew this evening..if time permits I'm thinking this aft if vet can cut ziggy's nails I will bring him..they are so long and sharp

What are you all up to

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Love the quilt LK They will be so loved.
Ziggy is going to be fun to train Betty. You must leave ideas for Kyle to follow while you are ogone.
Had good report from heart doctor yesterday. My problems are not of the life threatening kind but of the you need to slow down a lot kind. Happy about that.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

washed, curled 10 dolls last night and combed out the hair this morning. We have the ceiling heat cranked up so the doll hair dried FAST!! I took today off in hopes of getting these dolls complete and out of my sister's house.
Sis dropped off the pattern I wanted for the astronauts gloves yesterday @ work. She said if I didn't show up at her house she was dumping 200 dolls on my doorstep! LOL

We got several inches of snow last night. It about 5.40 AM here and I'm going to shower and clean off car.. Then call my beautician and tell her that when she gets her first call of cancellation I will come! My appt is 11.30 but I'm betting on earlier slot. Might even just GO with a book to read and figure to wait until it happens LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.
I am finishing my quilts today or tomorrow.
Glad to hear the good Dr. report Barb.
Pat, I bet you were glad she did not drop off 200 dolls! LOL!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I've cleared the Cherokee Jeep as much as possible, I have it running to finish clearing the front windshield.... when it's clear and ready, I'll call the beautician and see if she wants me to come in early.

200 dolls... day is not over yet! LOL. I have Monday off too so I'm praying these dolls will be on the journey to new homes with loving little girls shortly!.

We don't get much snow here. So when it happens people are freaked out. Some idiots drive even faster for the thrill (If they have already passed me, I like to wave to them as I pass THEM in the snow bank).

OK, jeep is ready and so am I, later peeps!
