My mom always made Yorkshire pudding with the Christmas prime rib. Miss it.
Morning ..
Lorna had her OLD socket (Top part of her leg) on when the bottom piece decided to leave ..
The NEW socket, even though it has been re padded etc. is simply not fitting correctly.
She will NOT go in on Friday as it's her last day of work and she is so intent at getting all the gardens pulled and tilled for winter .. she is MORE than half way there, an apt for a fitting would be 3 hours .. she just wants one of the techs to ensure the old socket and leg are properly attached and aligned best day for that is Wednesday as she is off because she is having a cortisone shot into her right knee ..
My nerves are shot trying to keep this together ... but, it will happen
Off to the Toyota dealership this morning to have my car gone over and an oil change .. Gord will follow mw in and we'll do some shopping .. have to get wedding paper/bags for the gifts ..
Betty good to hear Debbie made it home .. sounds like you had a great time :-)
Are you making 'Muppets' costumes ? BIG hands, could be Frankenstein !!
Sorry to hear about Mel's Dad ..
YUMmmmmmmmmm re the Maurice salad .. may have to give that a whirl Karen ..

Morning everyone.
Betty, Dylan has been doing good so far.
So sorry to hear about Lorna's leg. I pray she can get it properly fixed, once and for all.
Can't wait to see Debbie's pictures from the trip.
Morning all
High of 68 with a feels like 72, nice fall day
Not to fret "M", enjoy thoughts of meeting up with family, seeing fall colors and going on a ROADTRIP with your best friend..will work out fine and know you are both independent women and should something happen you'll have a fix..bringing wheelchair with you? You sure had a great birthday..
Lindakay, great that Dylan is doing better, he is young enough not to realize he's on a special diet..what have you been up to now that temps are lower? Did you get all the vehicle repaired?
I will have to find a video to show you what I'm making..little more difficult then I thought to get proportions right
Meant to say after our trip to Meaford that I picked up a few supplies for our 10th annual Christmas workshop..
Think this is it Lindakay

Oh Betty, those are hilarious. Who are they for?
Good morning!!!!
"M" Happy belated Birthday! I think you should celebrate again today since I was late.
I slept in til 9:15, mostly because the furries missed me and had 3 big kitties cuddling. And then just soaked in the tub. Betty wore us both out!
Felt the aches when I got up this morning.
The ride back was much easier than ride up, only hit a small patch of rain before Toronto area. The border was a long wait about 45 minutes. Thought I had done so well getting to there in 2 hours 30 minutes.....I had missed construction and all. But the border got me "back on track" and another 40 minutes I got home at 1:05.
I had such a wonderful time and really enjoyed all we did. I have most of the pictures loaded, have to clear the ones off my phone now also and put them in order. Really intended to have them up last night but the body said....NO.
These costumes Betty is making are hysterical. Don't know if she will have any hair left by the time she is finished!
A little cool here, but the sun is shining. Will work on my pictures to show you.
Debbie
Love the 'drunk fellas' LoL
Well Debbie, I DID celebrate my bday one day late .. I bought a new car today .. CANDY APPLE RED ..pick it up on Thursday :-)
Had taken mine in for servicing for the trip .. saw this one,a 2017 Toyota Corolla LE .. same as I have, but newer .. NOT telling Lorna .. hope I can keep my mouth shut ...
~M~
WOHOO!!! We call that hello Officer red.
Pretty car.
What a beauty "M"
Good luck with keeping it a secret 😉
Enjoyed the girls this morning, always nice chatting/sewing
Once they left I started to make a few components for the costume..tired so setting it aside for tonight
Brought up glass bevels and cut triangles and did copper foiling, something to keep me up..sure want to watch debate tonight..
Good morning :-)
Well .. SURPRISE .. I have kept my mouth shut, so far .. big deal is going to be when Lorna gets in the car later this morning and we head to the hospital. Her walker goes in the trunk, and, it's spotless ..no shopping bags, or window cleaner in there .. and,I wiped down the dashboard and cleaned out all the nooks and crannies, AND, the glove box hold only the manual and a change purse, not a bunch of strws and napkins LoL
My excuse is, 'I'm getting it ready for the trip' .. She has time set aside on the weekend to detail the car, and I am just going along with that :-)
Betty, awesome job on the beer drinkin guys ;-)
I think the 'pants' part might be tricky ..
58 here this morning ... crazy, it is supposed to be raining 100% chance .. haven't looked at the map yet ..
hope everyone has a great day ..
~M~
Morning all,
58 here but will eventually get to 73
Sun is shinning, nice and bright..should be outside putting things away till spring.
"m" you did good not saying anything, she will be mega surprised. Is the car a little bigger than the last model?
Mom had a stained glass lamp Jim had made that got broken, it's been sitting in my car since Buffalo trip, think I will make an effort to repair today..take a break from sewing..actually I'm deadlocked till I have a real body to figure out my next step..slap me silly if I say yes to costumes nexrpt year..kidding of course, you know what it is like when kids ask you for something, how do you say no to sons and grandsons..
Need a coffee, get the lampshade then head diwnstairs
Hey all..
Quiet thread today . .. everyone must be busy :-)
Cortisone shot for Lorna went well .. a 2.5 hour wait !! Fingers crossed it relieves Lorna's pain ..
Scooted out for a quick lunch .. and I am still 100% in the NO MENTION dept LoL
The car is a smidge bigger, not much though, pretty much has all the bells and whistles the other one has ,.. not going to be BIG learning curve .. will have the salesman set my phone up as I did a pretty flakey job 3 years ago ..
Rain did come ... in bunches .. then it tries to shine out, then rain again . ..
We have stuff to put away as well ..
Catch y'all later
~M~
Been lazy today. My allergy shots yesterday are kicking my butt.
Trying to synchronize phones to hands free unless you are a computer person can be intimidating..can't wait to see photo's of your new wheels
Hopefully the easing of pain will last till you and Lorna return home
Was also wondering where everyone is
Just getting ready to head to town, need a few costume supplies, will pick up supper then if I'm still up to it will play with Caleb/braeden's costumes..it's slow going but little by little ill get them done, hopefully for the weekend so they can take them home
No problem here Betty.
Was gone all day to a fair in Maine. Each year, Norm's boss gives his employees a paid work day to go to the fair and when you get there he gives you $75.00 to spend!!
We had a wonderful time. Ate fair food and bought a few small things and just enjoyed being out in the sun. Then on the way home he took a certain road that is known for it's fall foliage. Absolutely beautiful!!! And who had no camera? Right...
No problem with DG here - don't have to sign in again.....
Getting cheque from City tomorrow morning.
Bob's building the 4th wall for addition (it goes on the mobile side, so he can attach the roof properly)
Played cribbage today with a group that meets every Wed afternoon - it was fun, and great to meet new people in our hamlet
Supposed to snow (wet snow) on Friday - hope Bob has some of the roof done by then?!?!
Should get the shed soon........... from across the road. Would be nice to store stuff there, instead of in our living room, dining area, and bedroom.........
Been busy the past two days, I was chosen for jury duty on a case, and had to report to a downtown Chicago courthouse. It was a civil case, one middle eastern cab driver rear ended another middle eastern cab driver at the airport. The one rear ended was sueing the other for amost $20K in medical bills and another $15K for pain and suffering, even though he had no visible signs of bruising or injury and was walking around after the accident. His car only had a 5 inch tear in the rear bumper, even though he claimed the other car was going 30mph. He didn't follow the ER doctors recommendations of following up with a doctor if his pain persisted, instead he googled and found a chiropractor who specializes in car accident victims, that sounded a bit on the shady side. Signs in his window had a cartoon drawing of two cars crashing head on. What kind of chiropractor advertises like that? It was interesting, I've never been on a jury before, so I was excited to be chosen, plus I got out of two days of work!
Interesting that you're on a jury, for a car accident (?!?!?! - never heard of something like this calling for a jury?!?!).
You get out of work, but you don't get paid for it, do you, Judy?
My company pays us for jury duty, so that was fine. The driver that hit the guy was ticket for negligence. I thought the medical bills would be covered by insurance, but either they refused to pay because of the lack of proof of injuries, or the one driver didn't have insurance. "Pain and suffering" is something you have to sue for in court. We didn't buy his whole story and didn't award him any money for pain and suffering.
so, the trial is over then?
Car accident trials happen all the time here. Someone is hoping to hire a shyster lawyer to get mega money.
Morning ..
Barb, I hear ya on the no camera .. I usually have my cellphone with me, but, fiddling with it to get it to the camera app is a bit tricky when your hands are full of you are overcome by what you want to take a pic of .. I can only imagine how beautiful the scenery was .. just gorgeous I'm betting ..
What a GREAT boss :-)
Haven't had any issues with Daves .. in fact, I have nary an advert, as Debbie would say, it's kinda blank and white .
Picking up the car today .. trying to figure out how to SPRING it on Lorna .'DH and I are going to town this morning as he has a physio apt for his hand .. then we'll go for lunch .. then, after I pick up the car, I think we'll go to the cemetery .. she won't recognize the car as mine until she sees us in it ..OR ..I could just come home and park it .. either way I'll have the camera and take some pics (famous last words)
Going to go and check on Hurricane Matthew ..

~M~
Yes, the trial is over, and it's back to work. We ended up awarding him $3K for bills, and we got to decide who got paid. We agreed to the ambulance bill, which was a little over $1200, and the remainder was to go to his hospital bill. I would have been fine with not awarding him any money, but there were some who thought he should get some. So, he ended up with less than 10% of what he asked for. Now, I've got to figure out what I've missed at work the past two days. I'm glad I was chosen for the jury, I've never been on one before. It was interesting.
Deb
Betty, If you are getting ads, you can turn them off. Go to the top of the page, and click on preferences, then on the next page, left side click on ad settings. uncheck what you don't want to see, and then click on submit.
"M", I bet Lorna will be surprised when she sees the new car.
Morning all
Sun shinning, should be doing windows vs making costumes 😜
High of 78 - feels like 86
Watching news on hurricane, Lordy it's a nasty one, danger to life..worry about you all on east coast.,,know Thunder ,Jaye, Barb are close enough for damage, prayers coming your way that it missed you.
Barb sounds like a fun filled day..did neither of your phones have camera's
Do your fall fairs have craft entries, one with quilts, knitting? Sure is nice for an employer to be so giving to staff..must be a nice place to work
Will have my coffee and toast then downstairs..back to costume making
Fair day is a NO PHONE day. It is one of the very few days we take entirely for us. No interruptions. That's why I have no photos since I forgot the camera. If I had known we would be traveling the way we did or that the foliage was peaking farther north where we were, I would have made sure of it. It was a wonderful day and I thank heaven for Norm who pushed me for three hours all around to anything I wanted to see.
Would love to see the look on Lorna's face with the new car!!!!
Good luck with the costumes Betty. I also would not do them anymore.....
Had a friend in Vermont/newhampshire earlier this week, said they so enjoyed it..
I remember doing the eastern states with Roger, what I remember most is being terrified in the mountains
Norm is a dear..how blessed you are having him.
Oh I just ramble about costumes, once they are done and I see look on the boys faces it is well worth the effort!
Just did the shoelaces on the booties, it's the little things that bring it together
M I hope you have Gord ready to record Lorna's face when she first sees you and the new ride.
Was trying to pay bills on line when I looked up and saw a cow feeding on the Hostas. Went out there was another one. Belonged to the farmer next to us. I herded the 2 up and started up the lane. The farmer is going to meet me before we get too close to the county road. Getting 2 cows is much easier than just 1.It is so dry here that the cows were able to walk across the swamp.
How was Meaford Betty ? I found the last couple of years it was just more of the same.
Hope our Debbie's tests went well.
Now I need you all to send me your bubble wrap. A couple of days ago I injured my left knee again. As I was trying to get out of bed my left knee went kaput. I am surprised you all didn't hear me.This 1 hurts still.
Dianne and her TH
Good afternoon
Have a sick kiddo DS sounds like he has the croup or bronchitis. Making him a pot of chicken soup
The test was nasty!!! I knew I would not get contrast dye because of allergy.....but wouldn't you know they have a NEW one that you now drink. Although is clear, it taste like straight iodine.....and I still taste it today. It was 42 oz. of that I think I had to drink in under an hour......and the last glass before I laid down on the table for scans. They said doctor will have results tomorrow....might be til next week I do as Monday is Columbus day. Not sure if they are open.
Weather is beautiful here Mid 70s and sunshine.
M I love that car color!!! Be careful so do the police!!! They just look like they are going faster. haha
Ooooh Debbie so sorry about the yukky drink. It doesn't work for me, I have such a bouncy stomach, even things I like I just sip. Last Up scopy. I kept throwing up the cleanse and finally gave it up. Told the Dr. if it's not clean enough, I'm sorry but just couldn't keep it down.
Karen I kept thinking this was not going to stay down also. The guy next to me was saying I looked a bit green! lol Told him I would run the other direction no worry.
I have been sucking candy and everything trying to get rid of this taste.
I told my doc last scope (several years ago) I can only do the pills to clean out the rest will not go down and stay. He gave me those and the "lemon flavored" citric mangesium...let me dilute a bit with water to taste like a bad lemonaide.
Well Lorna was flat out surprised as they come .. kept looking at the car from afar (she was on a machine) saw ? someone waving? Me .. she finally put it together and came over .. she was speechless .. the car is SO shiny .. the colour is called Barcelona red
Have some pics and will be back ..Lorna and Gord at the cemetery .. her last day is tomorrow, and, the car :-)
~M~
Back ...
Oh my Deb ..that contrast media is horrid stuff .. sure hope you can get rid of the taste ...
Citro mag is bad enough ..!
Dianne .. so sorry to hear about your knee .. ice I guess ..
Betty .. good stuff .. you are a busy one .. I think the costumes are going to look great !!
Deb .. I take it you were on a jury .. must be glad it's over ..
Waving hi
~M~
Dianne, what are we going to do with you. Praying you did not do too much damage.
Debra, I hate that contrast stuff. I found out the hard way I was allergic to the iodine IV solution, so I can't so that any more.
Sorry to her your son is sick.
Beautiful car "M". I think Loorna likes it alot!
LindaKay that is how I found out also. Breaking out in hives while in the machine....came out and the nurse said "oh my". Hooked me up to a liquid benedryl right then and there and steroid shot. Tested positive for shellfish allergy also.....which of course is favorite food!!!
M...that car is BEAUTIFUL!!! I just love the color!!!
I need to get to bed. DS ate 2 big bowls chicken soup and said it cleared up his
head a bit. I put in garlic, onion and a bit basil along with the rest.
