Kind of a schlepy day .. went into the city and got all the stuff done that we needed to get done ..
Took Lilly with us .. ended up taking her for a walk by the lake shore, and then, the cemetery..
Tomorrow will be Zoeys turn .. Piper .. well .. he is just NOT a 'car guy' .. too restless ..

Just finished supper .. veggies from the garden and steak .. yummie ..

May have a bonfire later ..

LK what awesome news .. your DS and DDinL will be cooking lotsa rice/noodles .. but .. there are 'gluten free areas 'popping up in stores all over the place, as well, restaurants advertise gluten free meals.

Mom has been eyeing a rug she wants, I've compacted and flatten a lot of our treasures so just maybe I'll have room although she says to not worry about it
My little car sure can carry a ton of stuff

I was a smart gal, 2 grandsons want me to make them a star wars outfit..dropped into the Halloween shop and found orange jump suits for $45 each, suppose to be prisoner garb but same color as what I needed, I will cover the inmate number and make the airpack..saved me hours of sewing and likely by the time I'd bought fabric cost would be same

Treated me to outdoor lighting, witches flying, can't wait to plug in tonight to see how it lights up the house..that with the smoker and sound system little ones should be in awe..always remember Liz/Kenny and their amazing Halloween display

Must have been the day for company yesterday Barb.. a couple of friends popped over, knew I had made a pumpkin pie .. had a great visit on such a dreary day ..

DH is off to the hand surgeon this morning .. still in a quandary as to whether to have the carpal tunnel done on his other hand .. the first one (a year Nov. 19) has not turned out so well .. still numb, AND, he now has a ' trigger finger'.

Wow, that weekend just flew by!

Yesterday was my DGD's 4th birthday, so spent the afternoon at her party. She had a fall from a bouncy house that was rented and fractured her collarbone, so not such a good day. She's fine, there's nothing they do for that kind of fracture, she was given Motrin and a sling, and they need to follow up with her regular doctor, but she still had cake and opened presents.

Welcome home Betty. Sounds like you bought out the store.

Sorry to hear about your granddaughter. OUCH!

Still raining here. Been raining since friday night, and we have 2 more days. About 8 inches so far.

Karen, photo's of wedding? When do you head back or will you stay down there and go to Florida for thanksgiving, but then your thanksgiving isn't till November, that is a long time to be away considering your renovations are underway..keep thinking it's only 2 weeks away but that is ours.

Need to clean out the china cabinet, mom sent box of 1 of 3 of royal dalton figurines home with me, now to find a home for them

What a treasure Betty. They are so beautiful. Your Mom did the right thing knowing you WILL take care of them. Who knows, maybe one of your grandsons wives would treasure them also. They would make an excellent wedding gift also. Quite the investment.

Our neighbours down the road came and got me last summer .. their 6yr old son broke his wrist on their trampoline .. I could do nothing .. just ice it and they took him to ER for it to be casted.

oh Deb - poor wee one, breaking her collarbone!

Betty - collecting teacups/saucers and teapots is MY thing - and sets of dishes for best (had one set for Thanksgiving and another for Christmas, only)

Bob's doing well on the deck - has the floor almost done - now, for the walls & ceiling..... He has an idea how to make it a sloped roof, and keep the interior ceiling flat - hooray! He's going to make a "step down" so we can have an 8 ft ceiling. Previously we had a sloped interior ceiling from 7 1/2 down to 7ft and I did Not like the looks of it.

Dylan is doing good. No more upset tummy. He loves the gluten free food. He does not know the difference, as he has always been a good eater. He loves his fruits and veggies. Heather made a pizza with a cauliflower crust and he loved it.
Yes we needed the rain, but with 2 dogs in and out all the time, I am constantly mopping.

That is wonderful LK that Dylan is eating like that!!! He will do just fine as he becomes familiar with what is good for him and what will make him sick. I'm so happy for your family.
So sorry for your DGD Deb. There really isn't much they can do for it except hope she keeps it still for a while....

Earlier this year I was headed out the door with tennis balls in hand, and I dropped one. Blackie was right there, and when I bent down to pick it up, Blackie picked it up and raised up under my chin and bonked it pretty good. It was pretty sore for several months.

Betty - right now he's thinking he'll be able to do most, if not all, of the room. I know he's knowledgeable, and all that, but 2 sets of capable hands are better than one.
Red, who's supposed to help when Bob needs it, is the one who came over here and reamed ME out for something that he didn't have all the facts about (nor did *I* because it happened in Calgary & I wasn't there), and Bob's still upset that he yelled about me about it and upset me. I told Bob that he didn't have any choice - Red's capable and knowledgeable, so we're hiring him - so THERE lol
I think Bob's also worried about the funds that Red would necessarily charge when we don't know how much we'll get back from the City. We are also going to have to pay out for a new roof, so we're going to have to watch our pennies.

One wedding down, one to go..This is Emily my DGD with her dad James my....well he married my former DIL...they just call me mom it works. She looked so pretty, under that oh so lovely dress she had on cowboy boots as did the rest of the attends. All were dressed more casual. Her mom was so flustered that DGD Jess and I just told her to go be with Em and we would handle everything on the top end. I wanted her to be able to enjoy the wedding. After Jess and I sat and the rest did clean up.

I didn't make the dress, don't do that type of sewing anymore. Next DGD wedding is this Sat. down state. It will be so similar, they could have had a double wedding if we could have gotten everyone into the same state. Most of my GDs are country girls.
