Thanks for the hugs Susan. Sending many right back to you.

Betty, I can't believe you rode on the back of the bike in the rain.
Love that picture.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh no Lindakay, was behind him in my car, you couldn't see..kept hoping I'd not run into him. Lol
Napped for 1/2 hr, decided to make myself comfy in bed, tomorrow is another day.
How's the little one, any news?

Susan, does that mean you will not be able to bring the shed over?

Looks like you had a lovely gathering Betty. Your mom does look happy.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Lovely pics, Betty.

I made it to Wilkes-Barre PA, that was about 700 miles. Long day, but glad I got this far. Will try to get another early start tomorrow so I will have some time in Cape Cod.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Have a safe trip to Cape Cod.

Dylan will have to spend the night, and be evaluated tomorrow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is one heck of a lot of miles to put in one day Deb, sure hope you get a day or so to relax before the show.

Will Dylan's parents get to spend the night in the hospital with him Lindakay, likely he'll be a tad bit frightened

Before we left the restaurant mom made sure to remind me its Buffalo weekend Friday

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, parents are encouraged to stay with the kids.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

And Betty - if I may be so bold as to say it - you are the best looking one in a good looking group. My goodness but you're a beauty!!
Glad your mom enjoyed herself :-D

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Just the best pics Betty .. looks as though a good time was had by all :-)
Hadn't realised that Lorna's folks are older than your Mom at 86 & 87 .. both still drive and are ferociously independent .. looking forward to seeing them .. am thinking we'll likely drive about 600 miles the first day .. waiting on the CAA 'triptik' to arrive as they have planned out the whole trip.

LK ... prayers for Dylan and his parents ..quite the situation to deal with.

Wondering how Dianne is ...I see lots of rain fell that way yesterday.
Like you Betty we got caught in a torrential down pour yesterday ... had to pull over and wait a few minutes, drove another 10 miles home, nothing had happened !

Deb .. safe travels ..

Barb how are you and Norm, and Sharon, how are you and Vern doing ?

Have a lovely day ladies

~M~

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Beautiful family Betty!!!
Safe travels Deb.
Hugs and prayers for all in need and special ones for Dylan.
I finally finished the pillow for my bed.
The cover with insert is removable.

Morning everyone.
Barb, that is so pretty.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks Linda Would make more sense if the photo would post correctly! lol I even tried reversing it in my photos and it still came here upside down!!!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Still pretty Barb even upside down. Sure don't know why that happens sometimes.

600 miles is a very long day on the road "M". Be sure to plan to stop if it gets to be too much.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

When I open your photo's Barb they come out ok..I too have same problem
Thanks for the comments on yesterday's gathering, did have a nice time..poor brother Bernie just had all his teeth out last week, had to watch us eat all the goodies while he ate anything that was on the mushy side...Sharon was still ill but they were troopers and came out.

Susan, you are too kind re your compliments..

How is Dylan doing today Lindakay

So hope"M" wether it on your way down, on your way home or in Georgetown that we get to meet up for coffee at least.

Deb, safe travels..

I had thought as Kyle was busy last weekend didn't hpget to do my grass that's might try to do a bit of it today, mar far too wet right now, perhaps later today..in the meantime I finished the appliqué I needed done to finish the Canada quilt op (2nd one) so I will play a bit with it and a Halloween piece and mug rugs..gives me the chance to go from project to project when I tire of one

What are you all up to today?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Karen .. my bladder will give us MAYBE 2 hours of driving !! Lots of stops LoL
As well, Lorna needs to stand up to reposition her leg .. so, it's good we aren't under the gun re time :-)

Lazy day here .. going to replace the little felt pads on the chair legs in the kitchen .. gawd .. there has to be a better method ! I bought chair leg feet from an ad on TV .. little plastic booties .. a scam .. as soon as we started sliding chairs back and forth, they just disintegrated :-(

Seems we have a 'Fisher' on the property .. kinda like a mink but bigger .. won't bother the dogs, but our neighbours let their cats roam ... so,we are watching ..

Off to conquer some chairs

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

I bought same pads "M" in Buffalo, love them, when I lift chairs though they fall off, nothing that a twitch of silicone won't fix..

Mom just called to thank me for getting some family members together, she can barely talk, yesterday she said she was glad she made it as she was coming down with something, now vomiting, fever, coughing so let's hope she is better by the weekend, as for me, hoping I don't get it.

Time to eat, just dusted, vacuumed and washed all the floors on main level, even found the fall Matt I painted last year and out it at the door..
Might make a trip to back shed to find a tote, won't carry it all just carry a few things
Looks soooo Orange/fall like..Sooo love getting my pretties out

Was thinking of the tent sale coming up in Meaford, always buy some autumn/Halloween decor, anxious to see what is new

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad your mom enjoyed it, Betty. Geeze, I hope no one gets whatever it is your mom has! btw - only say what I feel is truthful Betty and when I saw this picture, it just jumped out at me to be said - you're a very elegant looking lady, and you looked so happy and at peace. You looked positively healthy, and I'm so glad to see you like this.
A Fisher - oh my.... those are vicious critters, aren't they?
Marilynne - do take your time, and enjoy the drive, taking time out.

I'm going to help Bob outside, putting more rivets in the siding of our home. It feels good to help.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon,

Got to love productive days, seems I'm moving in slow motion but mega things being done..
Took 4 breaks but managed to get back yard cut, leaving it for a few hours then will do side and front yard..have the mower in lowest gear so I don't bounce all over..set one of the fall totes on mower and brought it to the house..

I smile but am sad at same time, there were so many swaps over the years while I've been on here, opened the tote and there was a glass pumpkin and a glittered pumpkin she had sent in a swap, there was beautiful embroidered t towels from Liz and know in the next tote there is more of what they sent, then there is a homemade potatoe sack pumpkin looking ever so cute, a bag of little Halloween critters yet from another swap..goes on and on..

Sure do miss my swaps

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I miss the swaps too Betty. Wish everyone could come back to DG.

Betty, you should not be out cutting grass. I know it is a riding mower, but you need to be careful please!

I just talked to Andy, Dylan has to spend at least another night in the hospital, as he can't keep even a sip of water down. So he is on Dr. orders nothing by mouth. A GI specialist is supposed to be there Monday for an evaluation.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sooner GI specialist gets there the better Lindakay..poor dear soul, likely doesn't know what is happening..prayers coming his way..

I'm with you Lindakay, miss the swaps

Even at night when I get into jammies and nighties it brings back the kindness of those in the swaps..most of my night time wear came from you Lindakay..👩‍❤️‍👩
Friends isn't that what it's all about?

This was the 1st year I wasn't in a red/white/blue swap, my fabvorite for sure..
Big sigh

Took it easy, got all the grass done, needs some trimming but that can wait

Think it's time for a hot bath, not that I'm ready for bed but I'd feel cleaner..yikes, mice have been in back shed, have some tote lids vto wash down, guess as I take each Christmas tote out I'll scrub..wondered if I should put mice poison out but Lordy what if they die in the shed, what a small that would be..any suggestions?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Now look at this miniature set, I believe dg member hand crafted in Fido..Lindakay can you remember who might have made it? Should have had a book to mark where my treasures came from

Now to find a place for them

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I made them out of polymer clay.

I agree, it is all about the great friendship.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well my buffet has a beautiful setting for them, they are just too cute..the pumpkins no larger than a dime with faces and stem..holy moly time consuming or what

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I miss the swaps too - but aren't there enough of us to start them up again?
So far, I see 4 of us from "before" (Betty, LK & Dianne? and Marilynne? and me), and surely some new people could be added, right? Those that didn't take part before.........

Verona, ON

Hi everybody.

Diesel and I thank you very much for your prayers and positive thoughts. He sees the vet tomorrow to get the stitches out. He hasn't worn the cone of shame for days. I even went out today for a few hours and didn't put it on him.

Went and got some Honey Crisp apples today plus some tomatoes. This was in Picton... what a beautiful ride we had. No 401, all back roads. We also went to a restaurant that Warren and I used to go to years ago when we did the show in Picton. It has a motel attached. We left from there to set up the show in Barrie. I also bought 2 blueberry scones that having tasted 1 I know I should have bought more.

Oh LK I hope they can soon help Dylan. Poor little guy... poor mom and dad.Sending positive thoughts and prayers.

Betty I loved the photos of your family gathering. You are going to have a son wagging his finger at you when he sees your grass is cut.

M I don't want to scare you but a fisher will go after small dogs. It is a nasty ^%#$ animal. They are not all small like you saw. We have them here the size of a fox. To think that MNR introduced this animal to get rid of porcupines. The good thing is they cover a huge area so they are constantly moving around.

Karen you love traveling that road don't you ?

Need to feed the TH. Chaos is throwing their food bowls around. Hint, hint !
Dianne & TH

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'll just bet that Diesel appreciated not wearing the Cone Of Shame lol poor guy! Glad he's feeling better

Dylan...... think of him often - not being able to even take a sip of water.... I'm not sure he understands! Soon enough it will be over and he'll be able to go home. I continue to pray for the wee guy.

A bit of a sunshower today, so Bob & I are back inside. I was undoing fasteners in the siding, and putting in new ones. Made me feel a bit more productive. Bob won't let me do much (bless his heart) but I have to do Something to help. Bob can't do it all by himself, for sure! Hope to hire someone once we get some $$ from the City of Calgary. There's a guy in our park that would appreciate the work and $$, I'm sure - Red.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty and Dianne, I hope we continue the Santa Warren swap?

Victoria Harbour, ON

That for sure we will, it warms my heart to participate,Mohave to look it up, will this year be our 4th?

How right you are Dianne when you say Greg will be shaking his finger, shall I tell a little whit lie to keep me from getting the what fore? Lol

Dianne, your ride sounds lovely, pict on is a beaitiful area especially at this time of year..hmmm honey crisps, wonder if they will be available end ogpf month when we go to Meaford..keep crossing my fingers that Debbie will come, she would so enjoy it

Diesel I'm sure is behaving, worried he'd have to wear the crown of shame again,..yes have heard that fishers attack smaller dogs..reminds me, missy is still out, she escaped when I went to closed back shed doors.

Susan, how long did Calgary say before they release funds? Did they release some already? You would think they would do all they could to make the move go smoothly, coat was phonomenal I bet.

Best I go try get missy inside or I'll not rest

Victoria Harbour, ON

If I don't post for awhile it's likely I've been arrested for indecent exposure..

I can't sleep in jammies. (Too much info right)
Got up and wrapped my nighty around me, put the light on to check if missy was anywhere to be seen, yep but wouldn't come to the door, went out went to grab her, nighty fell, rush for inside...know neighbors were outside but hoping the dark and heavy leaf ladden trees hid the commotion 😡

What I don't do for that kitty!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh my Betty!!!! A vision for sure!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

And not a pretty one. Lol

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Betty, what I would have given to be a fly on the wall.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! You better hope no one has security cameras!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Up and at'em .. busy week on the rise ..

Betty .. mouse traps are cheap, I set them and once a mouse is caught, I throw them out .. or .. shall I say SOMEONE throws them out ..

Wasn't in on the swaps, just Santa Warren .. but, cherish the items rec'd from that.

Optician for DH and myself today .. I will be getting new glasses .. always a HUGE decision, and, expensive as well :-(
Lorna's new leg has to go back for more padding .. will that ever end for her !!

Off n running .. have a great day .. LK .. prayers for Dylan ..

~M~

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Jeeze .. posted my post, came back and POOF a BUNCH of others above mine that didn't show up when I logged in ..

BETTY !!!!!!!!!!!!! LoL ... aren't you happy re the leafy bushes !!!

Dianne .. blueberry scones sound so wonderful:-)

Off again

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, high of 72 with a feel like 78, see by weekend we'll be in the 50's

Trying to make myself presentable, seeing surgeon at 9:30 then will pick up some fresh veggies/fruit at the market..will rush home as I'm not sure what time Marg will get here from Mactier

Good luck with picking glass frames "M"
Hope all goes well with Gord re his check-up
As for mouse traps, yep you have someone who will take mouse out of the trap..not going to be me so it might have to be poison.

Any news this morning on Dylan Lindakay?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No news yet, I will let you know when I hear something.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Best to discard the trap with the mouse. Put your hand in a plastic bag, pick up mouse & trap. invert bag to cover and toss it all. This is the pooper scooper method but would work just fine.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still couldn't do it Karen..yuk

Just got in from my appointment with surgeon, he said I was an A+ patient, did everything I was told and you can see by progress that I listened when my body said I needed rest.

I said that I thought I was being a sissy, taking much longer than what it should..he quickly reminded me that I had left it far too long, he is amazed that
I did not have mega problem re infection as he had quite a clean up, went in to say what could have happened, I SOOO wanted to say something about the 5/6 times I was in hospital with symptoms but thought better of it as its not his fault.

He said it would take 6-8 weeks before I. Completely healed, continue to listen to my body, when tired rest, watch the lifting but all and all I'm well on road to recovery..

Stopped at the market, cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, potatoes and a pumpkin, fruit didn't look good at all so passed on that.

Took chicken out of freezer, will make chicken and sliders for supper, besides that will continue on working on the My Canada quilt, hoping to have it ready for the quilting frame by tonight

Hope good news on dylan..

So in this gorgeous fall day what are you up to?

Must shortly get the Christmas workshop listed as the mechanics for the lantern should easily be available at the tent sale in Meaford..
