Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new, join in

Our neighbor is a contractor. He did roofing & siding for us this summer on the rental. He's very good to us price wise, we in turn know he works on a time available basis. Hubby works with him and also one DGS will be here to help some of the time. We need to remove a closet in one room and a wall between two others. New room for us will be a bit crowded but OK for sleeping. Will be nice to have the use of our bedroom furniture again.

Running off for another allergy shot, then to walmart to pick up a few things. Gotta get a birthday card. Oldest granddaughter will be 17 next week. Where does the time go?

Decided as I wasn't taking mom to Buffalo this Friday I'd call my siblings and a few others to meet at marketplace buffet in barriem, kind of half way for all for lunch Saturday which is her actual birthday..85 years young..so far so good..left a message for mom to call me, here is hoping she didn't go make plans. Lol

Drop in to stained glass studio for glass/bevels and fixings for snowflakes

Zoey has 'rumbly tummy' .. eating grass looks unhappy :-( Gave her a tums, of course, she won't eat it .. Piper of course would LoL

Rain started about 3am, and, continues .. Lorna gets to sleep in and take the day off, much as she doesn't like that idea .. but, we do have things to accomplish before the trip .. find a tailor to hem her pants, get her handicap sticker renewed .. LOTS of stuff ..

Off to make Zoey an egg for breakfast ..

Regardless if it's a day/week/month you seem to have the same 'to do's' seems we can't just pack up and go. Out of all my travelling buds I'm the most pick up and go on a dime, always buy what I forget. Rain is called for tomorrow so guess it's you who is sending it my way.

Already on 2nd coffee break, stated to appliqué, working on more fall mug rugs

Bob hurt himself yesterday - banged his middle finger, left hand - took off some of the nail and got all woozy and had to lay down on the cool floor - took a T3, and cold cloth to the head.
Today he's heading out to Calgary to meet some people who will help bring the hot tub & shed out here.
Wish Bob had help doing the rebuild........

Sorry to hear about Bob, likely over tired, that is when accidents happen. Could you not do without the addition for this winter to give yourselves time to regroup?

No, we can't - we had 60 days from move-in (August 17th), to create the size required by the County - has to be 960 sq ft living space and without the den, our place is 750 sq.
Not only that, but we have everything that used to be in the den and porch, in the main part of our home - we're overcrowded without being able to find stuff. Only a walkway to our bed, in the bedroom.

Caught between 2 stones..sorry you are having such a hard time..

Bob's on his way to Calgary, to meet up with John & take down the shed, then get a trailer with our new friend Michelle, and bring everything out here, including our hot tub.
I"m going to try to clear some of the lot so they can have some free access to stuff.
Bob's finger is freshly bandaged, and I gave him all the first aid stuff so he can get cleaned up and re-bandaged if he needs it. He has a disposable glove on his hand to protect the finger. He's lost about 1/5th of the top of his fingernail. Looking pretty bruised and awful but he says it's better (although it's throbbing).

Results are back Diesel's tumour was NOT cancer. Wooohoo!!!

Oh M I hope Zoey is feeling better. Poor thing. So glad Lorna has the chance to sleep in.

Hope you will be able to get some help to build the add on.

Wonderful news Dianne, know you've been terribly worried this past week.
Just got back from stained glass studio, bought fixing for 3 snowflakes,omg $235
She was telling me the biggest water glass provider has closed its doors, imagine, then add 30% on USA funds and another 10% for god knows what it's difficult to stay in business..don't know how those who sell their wares like you did can make a dollar! Bet from prices listed on this bill you can see just how much things have gone up.. Hardly worth it right?

Not sure I mentioned that I was looking through my crafts for teddy bear eyes,armitures etc as I had Darlene's mom's coat and mink stole..well decided with all in my plate I'd get a lady I know in a community nearby who makes teddies make me 2..the mink shawl will be a smaller teddy..

Can hardly contain myself..are you like me, get so excited about the Xmas gift you have for a friend that you just want to run it over to her??

Can't before next week when I get the other teddy so I will habpve to be patient

I got my running done with no problem, but am getting hives tonight! Don't know what is causing them!!! I took a zyrtec, so it will be going away soon.

Her new leg is still pinchy, so, I'll take it back on Monday to see what can be done ..

Betty - those teddies are ADORABLE! Wow, is she ever talented!!
Bob's finger is feeling better, but I sent all the meds and bandages he could possibly need, along with him anyway, so he can re-bandage it (it's been bleeding quite a lot).
He & the lady who's helping us move our hot tub & shed have met up, and I'm so pleased. I made some mini cheesecakes for when they get here. I wish our place wasn't so trashy looking with all the tools piled up in our dining room, all our office stuff in the living room and our bedroom has just a walkway to get to the bed. I'll be SO glad to have our outdoor stuff Out Door, in the tool shed. Gotta tell ya - living in this clutter is very depressing.

Lordy, still trouble with Lorna's leg, will there ever be an end to repairs

Betty .. the Teddy Bears are just way too cute .. a real treasure.
I think I mentioned my Mom's Black Persian Lamb coat that she cherished .. I loved it as it smelled of her perfume, and, I would still have it, but, when DDin L moved into the house with DS after their marriage and my Mom's death .. well .. Alison took it upon herself to SELL it at a garage sale along with several other mementos I wanted kept ..I had even said that prior to their purchase of the home that the items in the closet in the basement should come to me if they were in the way .. hind sight is always 20/20.

Another busy day .. taking the pants (Lornas) to be hemmed .. maybe going for breakfast first not sure ..

Hives are gone this morning. I found that if I take a zyrtec when they first start appearing, 30 min later they are gone!

Rained a bit early this morning, calling for more but right now the sun is out..calling for 78 with a feel like 90..muggy out there. Am sure showers and thunderstorms are looming.

"m" as I read your post and got to your having your mom's black lamb coat I though, ohhh she could bring it on her trip this way and I could have a teddy made then continued to real, Drats Drats and more Drats, I'd be beyond livid..some people just don't have heart

Mom's 85th birthday today, got another call late last night to say my niece, nephew and their spouses and 3 kids are also coming. Mthink greg will make it but not Jeff, Caleb goes for his drivers test which was booked months ago and it overlaps the time frame..

Playing lazy this morning..decided what to wear today, deciding if I should run into town to get hair done or do it myself..do need a gift for mom hmmm

Heard yesterday from an,old friend who was,on the township master plan with me decades ago, we always keep in touch, she,will come visit Momday for a few days which,will be nice

About it for me, best I decide to do something as I have to leave here around 11:30 to pick aunt Muriel and her beau up. Lol

We have decided to go to FL for Thanksgiving. I want to present latest quilt to former BIL. Haven't seen him or his family in many many years. Especially love his mom, she is a true southern lady. Everyone knows we are coming but not about the QOV. They are as excited as we are.

My Gastro Dr. just called, my blood work was all pretty good, don't need again until next month.

How exciting is that Mrs roadrunner..they are thrilled I'm sure...your thanksgiving, keep thinking snow but hopefully it will be late in coming this year..great news re your blood tests Karen.

Hi everyone - it's a new day, and I'm going to be happy regardless of everything else!
The hot tub got here, under much work and stress, but not the shed. It was built with Ardox nails, and those things are murder to remove - note to everyone: NEVER use those awful things for anything, unless you plan to Never take the object apart.......
The hot tub is on its side, as the base has rot on it and Bob's going to build a new base of blue board (moisture resistant). Then we have a new lid coming when we get the funds, from the lady who helped us get our hot tub here - a new friend who has suffered along with me in this last cleanup of our old lot. Definitely a new friend, from Calgary.
I'm going to Olds, to get some groceries from WalMart - just bread, milk, and a few other things, but it''s the best price and 20 min away isn't too bad.

Lovely visit with family, should really do it more often..was thinking next major event is Sharon turns 65 April 1st, other than that it's thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings..
