Beautiful day today. Mid 80's right now.
Now you can start getting out and enjoying the outside
Betty - glad you're using the chair lift and that Greg's happy about it.
15 weeks? omg...........
Dianne - how IS Diesel?
LK - glad your hives are gone.
Hope the weather improves as the weather liars say it will - not supposed to rain, and Bob can get going on the rebuild of the deck and then our den on top of it.
Love to all of you - sorry if I missed anyone. You're all in my thoughts, and prayers.
Missed something Susan ..15weeks? Is that how long you have been 'in transition' ?
Gorgeous day here .. low 70s, MAY rain later today, kind of a toss up.
Betty .. your incision line really shouldn't feel like that .. is it warm and reddened?
Are you still on an antibiotic?
A person with a 'ruptured appendix', like you ..would never be in and out of the hospital in a day .. appendix that do not rupture, yes, easy clean surgery, but, your pretty much upchucked bacterias into your body ..
Please seeyour doc if you feel the incision is inflamed.
Got the pickled peppers made .. just 3 jars ..made 2 chocolate zucchini loaves .. and, helped the neighbour look for her cat ,Marilyn :-)
Carol has had her cousin and wife and kids move in ..long story ..anyway, her cat, Marilyn does NOT like all the commotion .. so, she keeps going into the woods and hiking it over here .. but, we haven't seen her, and, can't find her in any of our back buildings ..
She is de clawed .. so will be on the lookout ..
Best DO something outside would love to pull some plants out, but, it just feels so final!
~M~
no, Betty said it's 15 weeks until Christmas....... YIKES!!
Well, the roast is in the crockpot!!! I hope I did it correct.
Poured au jus over, sprinkled ranch on top and small dots of the butter.
It smells heavenly after only 1 hour.
Which au jus did you use Debbie? Sounds like a great roast. I can smell it from here!!!!
It is the one with the beefy bits in it....it is in a jar Henz home style
Should I have used the powder mix for that?
This message was edited Sep 12, 2016 12:31 PM
I use the powder but betting the jar will be just fine. Wait until you see how much juice you get. Don't add water. Makes awesome grave or you can just use the juice as is.
YUMmmmmmmmmmmmmm Debbie .. I use the powdered Au Jus .. but,as Karen says yours will work fine ..
Bear in the back yard .. taking some precautions for sure .. he's after the apples.
All showered and dressed, and nowhere to go ..anyone wanna go for coffee :-)??
~M~
But DO NOT add water...Hubby did that yesterday and I had to shaky finger him. Made for wimpy gravy.
Wish I was eating at your house Debbie..I use power au jus, likely yours will work just as well and yep, sure makes mega gravy..now you've gone and made me hungry. Debbie, given any more thought about visiting me at the end of month? Sooo hoping
Had lots of company this afternoon, plum tuckered me out..might even order in. Lol
If we lived closer I'd meet up with you "M" , we could try some of your home cooked goodies lolI'm often dressed up with nowhere to go
Bears coming in to feed themselves before hibernation, grumpy they are at time of year?
I mentioned thanksgiving is close and Kyle said I'd best start making pies😜
Well, after you said you used powder, I took 3/4 of the gravy out, and put the powdered on top with the ranch and a little butter dab.
Normally I have enough roast left for sandwiches the week. Nope, one small plate for DS left when he gets home! It was SO good, I just loved the flavor and I saved the gravy for another dish I have in mind.
Made a squash casserole with it also and salad with cukes, oh was such a nice dinner.
Betty, I am working on it! Have a few things to get in order and appointments. Will get what I can in order and do my best to visit.
Good morning :-)
Debbie,so glad the roast turned out for you :-)
It really is just delicious ..
Hope you can get your plans and appointments in order and are able to visit Betty.
A beautiful day yesterday that turned sour at 4:40pm with the arrival of a dandy thunder storm and lots of rain ..lasted til after 7pm.
Lorna sees her hematologist today .. fingers and toes crossed .. I know her blood values are down .. just hope he doesn't want to admit her to hosp .. I doubt he would ..
Dianne .. how are you ,and Diesel as well ..?
Sharon .. I sure hope all is well there ..with both you and Vern ..

Raining here too. An inch of rain so far.
Sending lots of prayers for Lorna today!
Adding my prayers for Lorna. Quiet day here too....
Prayers for Lorna as well
Beautiful day here...girls coming today, that ought to keep me out of mischief
Put big container and recycle to curb, ouch
Keep working on it Debbie
Best I have breakfast before they get here
Stellar day here again ! Cooler, nice breeze. I could take this weather 365 days of the year.
Diesel is doing well. Thank you for your positive thoughts and prayers. He doesn't have a hissy fit when I go to put it back on him. I just make sure he has it on come evening. Duke and Chaos are taking well now.
Saw the dentist this am. Some fillings and 2 teeth pulled. Go in next week and have 1 more pulled then it is time to take the mold for the partial plate.
Shaking my finger at you Betty. Hope you have a good time with your ladies. I know you always do. Does Ann come to the craft group anymore? How are those grandbabies of hers doing?
Sending positive thoughts to Lorna M. Hope all goes well at her appointment today. Ready to head south?
Dianne and her TH
Back from the hematologist ... good and bad ..
Lorna's platelets are up a bit , but, her liver function results are poor.
So ..no more over the counter vitamins, all except for Vit D
As for her other drugs, well he didn't seem too worried ..
Will see him again in a couple of months ..
Weather is awesome .. a few showers went through, but, otherwise, cool & sunny.
Dianne, hope you feel ok after the extractions ..
Jo, my BFF's hubby unit had 7 removed last Friday .. ouch ..
Betty, how did the rest of your day go .. was wondering about the twins as well :-)

"m" yes, semi good news for Lorna
This photo tells it all, they are so adorable..Addy is afraid of nothing, always trying to get her brother into mischief. Lol
Ann was here this morning but stayed away from us, just dropped in for a visit..she has pinkeye..ouch
Went to town, picked up some fabric, Kentucky fried chicken..will have a bath then off to bed.
Oh my goodness. How they have grown.
How sweet!!! She does have a twinkle in her eye!!! Getting so big now!
Wow .. they must be around 3 ?
Just too sweet for words ..
And, to think their beginnings were so tenuous ..
Early to bed, up early too .. groceries tomorrow ... uggggg ...
TOODLES
~M~
My how they've grown. I remember us all worrying day by day for them to make it.
In day care, seem to catch anything going around but otherwise catching up to other 3 year olds..apple of Ann's heart!
Good morning ..
As I see it .. this 'thread' has been through BUNCHES of 'stuff' .. always nice to know there is somewhere to go to when life throws you a curve ball.
BTW .. Brooklyn has decided to go back to school and get her 2 credits .. should graduate at the end of 2016, IF, she remains true to her word !
Far as I know she is home at present ,,
ALMOST had to use the "F" word this morning,as in FURNACE .. but just slipped on a cozier house coat .. a bit chilly at 50F this morning ..
Hope everyone has a great day ..
~M~
I'm glad to hear that Brooklyn is home "M". I say a prayer that she stays there and follows through with school.
I have a sad heart today. One of our dearest friends passed away and both Norm and I are heartbroken. He was such a dear friend. His wife is one of my dearest friends and is the lady I told you about when she had to have an eye removed die to cancer. What an insidious disease.....
Glad to hear she is back in school.
Sorry to hear of your friend passing BArb.
Keeping everyone in prayers.
Cool here as well "M", might have to put the furnace on as I'm thinking about playing downstairs and it's much cooler than main floor. It's coming, cool temps are coming, not sad about it..
Heartbreaking Barb, sending hugs for both you and Norm..remember talking to grandma one day, about living to almost 100, she said it was truly sad, to lose ones siblings, friends and even their children..
Good news about Brooklyn, let's hope she does go back and finish her year..it's a roller coaster ride for all..
Dianne,meow are you doing
Susan,my hinges going better for you?
Had breakfast, think I will head downstairs for a bit
Barb, sending hugs to you and Norm. Hard to be at the age when we are losing long time friends.
"M" sure hoping Brooklyn keeps to her schooling. Had a talk with a DGS a few weeks ago about this very thing. Saw his mom, my DD last week and she said she was so surprised and pleased Brendan was completing his school.....Just maybe he listened a bit.
Karen, great news re Brendan..
Yep sometimes when we think they aren't listening they really are!
Had company today, BIL Robert then Rita who brought me supper..beans,mashed pitatoes, meatloaf, gravy and a bun so all set, no cooking.
All were pleased to see me laying on the couch. Lol
Might go downstairs for a bit, maybe iron on seam a seam and Halloween fabric and play cut outs tonight while watching tv or could go through my scrap tote and see if I've enough scrappiest to this tree skirt
Have 2 projects done for quilting tote
I know, I know, am resting but like to have something in my hands to do for a bit, none of it is too strenuous
Glad to hear you are taking it easy.
Love that tree skirt.
Hope it's as easy as it looks
Drats,,was looking at Joanns flyer, this weekend would have the perfect weekend for Buffalo, mega good sales
Big sigh
Hi Everyone!
...Wow, Betty, I am so glad you got yourself to the ER in time.
I am praying you heed to the Doctors advise.
Cool you got a chair lift, especially at this time, but just take it easy anyway...
The only scolding needing to be done at least from me is-I'm just PO'd that this was not caught in the ER when you were going several times earlier this year.
I am just so thankful you got there in time this time.
OMG, The twins are simply Adorable, love that picture!
So, I've gone back and read the thread...lots to read and catch up on.
I actually made a post and like some other it went poof! It was from some weird thing my lap top does.
Also, just because it's on my mind...Jumping up and down, Yes yes and yes, I saw you are hosting The Workshop again, I'm so in. I actually was wondering myself and love you decided on the Lanterns!! I've always liked seeing your home workshops working on them.
Susan, whew glad things are moving along! Bummer about the plantings not making it...Hope it continues to go well and you and Bob can finally settle in to create beautiful place to live.
Deb, so glad your healing well. Awe, great news about Bonnie, sure hope she continues to do so well, you must be bursting in Pride. Awe, I hope all goes well in Cape Cod and I sure hope you get some down time to see some sites!
Karen, So glad you are feeling better too. Got to tell you I watched your video with the Little one Cooking! It was just so fun to see, so I watched it a couple of times, smiled big...LOL, Betty is right you should be named Roadrunner for all your travelling. Love that everyone takes care of there own bedding and cleaning of the cottage and ready for the next gathering, what a fabulous idea.
Debbie, I sure hope your appointment went well today. Thank you so much for letting everyone know about Betty. I do hope you will be able to visit at months end.
What a great job on the new floor, it's beautiful...of course I always enjoy your photo's (see them on FB).
Dianne, Goodness the TH sure keeps you busy...I hope Deisel heals quickly and test results are good, poor guy. Yikes, hope your dental work heals quick too.
Yikes, you sure had some big computer glitches, glad you got them under control?
Whew it has been one hot summer, like yourself I sure am glad to turn the AC off, throw open windows and doors and relish the fresh air!
M, Prays going up in hopes that DGD continues to go a good direction. Sigh, tough on everyone. Wow and Wow, I was so upset reading Lorna's leg was still not right and so know how thrilled I was, along with everyone she had her New leg!! Oh my I sure hope it's all good for her. Hope the blood gets straightened out.
woohoo on shoes for the wedding, sure hope wedding is wonderful...Yikes, I hope the guy is ok (stroke)
Linda Kay, ma'an sure hope those hives go away and stay away. I was so sorry to hear about those vandals...Crazy. OMG, sure think about you a lot...My hummers are swarming the feeders, they are fighting with the bees.
Barbara, I'm sorry for loss of Norm and Your friend.
I know you will hold beautiful memories in your heart.
...
Yes, I hope Sharon is doing ok and just busy.
Who am I missing? Well it will come to me as I play with Pegasus...Bird sitting, lol what new? Anyways big Awrmwraps to everyone, healing, gentle, tight and happy Armwraps.
Few things - our former tenant is hunting us down. Sent a request to join my Linked In network. I edited it to show Deleted Account, took out my picture, and took all the details out. Deleted it as well, but it will take up to 3 weeks for it to be non-searchable.
I planted my Mockorange yesterday, and pruned it today - it'll do just fine. I added a tree spike for nutrients and keep it watered every day. Friday we're going to our old place and I'll take some cuttings from rose bush, etc. I have lots of Miracle Grow.
We went to Olds yesterday and, on our word and Bob's leaving his Katana sword as collateral, he was able to "buy" a Pneumatic nailer! Boy, rural stores are great! This would never happen in a big metropolis.......
We have a new friend who's going to help us on Friday, and bring our hot tub AND a shed here - a friend will give us the $$ to rent a trailer, and our new friend Michelle is supplying some grunt workers and a truck and her time to bring them out here!!
Lowes says it's getting things straightened out with the charity that's helping us and we should get the new lumber soon...... this has been going on since Aug 29th, so we're well ready to see it come to fruition.
Bob's outside working on the beginnings of the deck, and fixing the old siding. He has a raised platform (helped to build it by our landlord - it's what the metal shed was supposed to go on. Y'know........ the one that was blown apart in the winds we had?!?!)
Another friend (lives nowhere near here so can't help) said it's good Karma coming TO us for all that's been draining us for the past while. The Lord is looking after us.
Blessings to all of you, for things you're going through - the good, the bad and the mundane. I love you all, and think of you often
We have always cleaned and changed the beds before we left here, that way it was ready when we came back. I used to have a note on the fridge with everything to do....Put water heater on Vacation, turn furnace down, stop icemaker, etc. Even before we had our place, my parents were next door, when we came up all our kids knew everything had to be put to rights before we left. Mom was the kind didn't want any kitchen interference but immediately after a meal, I said. "OK everyone who enjoyed that meal, clear the table & hit the kitchen". It's still the rule. Kids form into teams and decide when they want kitchen cleanup duty. Saves me having to nag about it.
We're doing some remodeling, can't do a lot but removing all carpeting, making two bedrooms into one so we can have our room back, moving sewing room upstairs, changing the bathroom...taking out clawfoot tub...kind of hate doing it but.... installing large shower with seat. Hope to have enough to take a leaf from Betty's book and and put in stair chair.
Good morning ..
Karen .. sounds as though your busy .. love/hate renos . would rather leave and come back to the fix .. hope everything works out well..
Judy, good to hear from you .. thank you for your thoughts .. I pick up Lorna's 'new leg, today .. it had to be padded .. perhaps I'll see Kerry .. I know I'll see his wife, Doris ..
Going for lunch today, Applebees, Jo and I .. the 'Grade 12 gurls' dinner is on the 29th .. doubtless it'll be a topic of discussion ... one of our classmates has joined that 'group, and, neither Jo nor I got along with her all those years back .. but .. people change ..
42 this morning, and, the furnace is running .. best go catch it :-)
~M~
Morning,
Brrr 48 outside,66 inside..wanted to put covers over me and go back to sleep but decided not to..will reach high of 68, perfect weather for me..
Oh Judy, got so excited seeing your post..thanks for well wishes, am on the mend, last 2 days have been healing days. How are the newlyweds? You've had qypuite the summer girl, you will be ready for a few days of crafting.
Susan, let's hope the promises of help both mplabour and $$$ come to pass.
There are definitely good thingsandbadthings about living in small communities, but good outward the bad..
Karen, exciting for you getting those reno's..highly recommend the chairlift
When will they start? Will hubby and family do them or will you hire a contractor?
"M" here is hoping the sock padding does the trick..ohhh let's hope the new addition to your group mixes in well, love applebys, enjoy
Not a lot going on here, might do some appliqué and do a fall mug rug for my coffee table, took all my fall throw and quilt out so it would add still yet more color.
Hoping someone with muscles drops in this week and carry the few totes of fall decorations in for me, if I don't do it soon I will have missed the season..am sure someone will over the weekend.
Have wood to cut re Halloween pieces the girls wanted to do..might get myself setup so when I'm up to it I can cut a piece or two..not heavy nor will each piece take a lot of time
So much I want to do..ordered glass for 4 snowflakes, should pick them up, foiling can be done in the couch.
So you see I use be feeling better as my mind is going 100 miles per hour
Time to challenge myself a bit
