Well I go offline for a few days and Miss Betty has a life threatening issue. I am so glad they got to you in time my dear. No one is exaggerating about dying ... 1 of my cousins did when we were kids.

Computer is back, virus is gone. Woo Hoo. I went in and picked it up about an hour ago. Chad worked through some things with me including accessing my email. I was able to there in his shop but just now when I powered up it won't accept my password. Grrrr. I go back later and tackle it.

Big thanks to Debbie for keeping me in the loop about Betty.

No news on the DGD front, can imagine 'things' are quite unsettled ..I just hope she doesn't do something to alienate people more ..

Betty .. whole new world out there re hosp rooms and who's in them .. bed shortages have lessened some by putting men and women together ..I'm not a fan of that method .. but, I guess I am just a fuddy duddy .. .. most women are modest even in front of other women in their room(as patients) ..
If you start to feel nauseated, or, you get the runs, BIG red flag Betty .. tell them immediately ..they will cut back on the antibiotics ..

3 men in this room, nice curtains and really when you are sick sick who cares about modesty.

They have to give a 3rd antibiotics as 2 not working..really had a difficult time making it to the washroom..walking is ok, lifting myself isn't

I don't think I would be comfortable in a room with men in a hospital.
Try to get some sleep.

When I was in the hospital, in March, there were 2 women & 2 men - I didn't even think anything about it. I was too busy being looked after by the hospital staff to think about it until you mentioned it. Guess being so sick I didn't care, just wanted to get well again.

Betty, I hope you got some sleep. I agree, hospitals are not a place to get much rest.

"M" I am sending you big hugs. I have found with girls, the drama is what they like...and it gets them attention, although not a positive attention....it is attention none the less. I can't give you any advice because I have not seen or heard from my two oldest girls in 2 years now. It kills me every day....I love and miss them so much, but limited as to my options. I was advised by 2 counselors to leave them alone and let them do as they want, some day it might "hit them" what has happened and come home. Not holding my breath....but sure hope the counselors were right. I hope a "light goes on" with your DGD also...but that age is he&& to deal with.

I think in a hospital room, everyone is too ill to bother or worry about the roommates. Then again, maybe Bessie Lou will get a gentleman admirer out of this!!! (she is going to kill me for that).

Not a good night, needed IV attached, after 5 tries on right arm and 3 on left they got it in..sleeping pill they had given me didn't work..guess as I'm healing and moving it hurts a tad more but I'm here so all is well.

I no longer allow them to mess with my veins. Head of the lab at our hospital told me a year ago to not allow them to even try unless they use the big ultra sound machine. It's usually ok by my hand or wrist but not higher. When I had the heart surgery, they ended up putting ports in my neck and Dr. told them every day to not touch them. I have crappy veins and have had all my life, no more torture for me.

"M" so sorry GD is still being a stinker, I'm not surprised though, she thinks she has the upper hand. Tough love called for here, hard to do though.

Susan how's it going at your place getting settled in?

Finally got DGS and wife moved into the rental, didn't give them a lot of choice. DS and his buddy just moved them. They slept there last night. They'll be back I'm sure not a single dish or glass over there as yet. In fact I don't know if they have any. All Amelia's toys are still here too. They might have dishes & such stored in the garage, if not they better hit a few yard sales...this is a huge week-end for them.
Sorry to seem so hard hearted but I have really had it up to here with her laziness. I told her the other day.."you are not an invalid, you are just pregnant". Still didn't sink in. She eventold her job she needed to be on light duty.

I was reading Crissy's posts this morning. She was woken up by an earthquake in Arkansas!!! Center was in Oklahoma 80 miles west of Susan "9kittyMom".....and even a friend (NY2LA Lee) was flying back from FL to CA....said it cracked the runway at DFW airport!

LK I was wondering about you and the storms. You seem to be in an area that somehow manages to avoid a lot of these extreme storms. Blessing for you for sure.

Absolutely stunning day - any bride around here will have a perfect day weather wise. We have not had any rain to speak of in a few weeks. There have been a few times when it looked like we would get a downpour but it just passed right over.

Stopped at the market in the village this morning. Can't find any heirloom tomatoes anywhere. Got some other yummy types of maters though.

My veins fall into the almost nonexistent category too. Sometimes when I have a MRI with dye they have to call over a nurse from the Cancer Center to get the needle in.The best place or where they have the most luck is in my hand.

Did I tell you I found my keys ? I did put them on the hood of the Escape like I thought. It started to rain on Thurs (only for a few min) and I turned the wipers on. They started then stopped and jerked moving a wee bit then stopping. I got out to see if there was a stick in there and lo and behold it was my keys.

I was in Critical Care sharing a room with a man. I thought it might be a problem for me but we were both too sick to care. They only thing that bothered me was he had lots of company that stayed and stayed and talked and talked. Their voices got louder as the day wore on. He even asked his company including his DW to get out of the room and give him some peace for awhile.

Oh M I know you want so much to step in with your DGD but she is at the stage where no one will be listened too. Debbie is right about the drama with girls. They do seem to love watch it all escalate. At this point the only thing you can do is keep the door open and hope and pray she decides to open it. I am sure by now the police have her and her DBF flagged. This is a good thing as they will keep and eye out for her and if they see her really struggling will step in. People sometimes forget the cops are there to help prevent us from hurting ourselves.

Oh Karen I bet you just want to shake your DGD. Who raised this gal that she feels so entitled ? We had friends who always came willingly for dinner, never invited us to their place, never brought or even asked if they could bring anything and never willingly helped put dinner on the table or clean up. Once Warren said take your plate to the sink ..... and that's what she did......1 plate only. Warren said to her back as she moved away from the table you have another hand. I don't know if she heard him or chose not to. Last time they were ever at our house for dinner.

Betty hope you are feeling less pain this afternoon. Did I see you had a morphine pump? No dancing on the table once you get the pain under control.

I am a complete idiot .... I've been calling around to see if any of the pet supply stores have a flexible cone. Duh! I forgot all about Amazon. Found 1 and ordered it so it will be here by Thurs. Diesel will not take kindly to the hard cone the vet supplies and the rest of the TH will have a hay day with the hard one.

Susan are you starting to relax a bit now? You have been on 1 he&& of a roller coaster for quite some time. Hope you and Bob get to enjoy some relax time together this weekend.

Dianne, she was basically an only, late in life child. raised as a princess. Both parents are gone so we were trying to put on a nice wedding for her. She wanted a pumpkin coach to bring her to the venue. I told her sorry, I think it's better we have food for the guests. When baby was coming, diaper bag I got wasn't acceptable, she needed designer one. She wears a 3X and is always worried about her clothes being "cute enough". Sorry but I don't think all that poking out of the designer holes in her jeans is "cute". Hateful of me I know but just so weary of it all. If she made any attempt to pull her own considerable weight it would be a different story. It will feel much better with her across the street.

Experiment tomorrow. I was brought an extremely large fresh brisket. I'm going to use the post roast recipe on it tomorrow and see how it comes out. Maybe use less butter as the brisket has quite a bit of fat already.

Some of this move is just plain ugly - eventually it will get better, but just not yet.
Bob's still in Calgary, and I really miss him - we have a friend here, with a trailer and he's bringing our deck lumber out here, then we'll get some new lumber for the additions.

I'm Going To See Bob Tomorrow! He's going to come back with Glenn (when he goes to pick up a load of stuff for Torrington) which means Bob will stay overnight and go back when Glenn does, to get more stuff!!

I spent yesterday with DD and DGD (my son's daughter) at a county fair. We all had a great time, and my knee isn't any worse for wear, a little stiff, but not bad! I was able to sit while they climbed on the tractors, and while they tried out some of the rides. The temps were mid 70's, so it was just perfect!

In the meantime, in Mississippi, Bonnie won another point toward her championship. They missed Friday's show because they had to cross Hermine's path, and waited until they were sure all was clear and the roads were driveable.

My goodness but Bonnie's getting a lot of awards!! Good for her!!!!!! (and for you, too, of course!!)

Don't like we haven't heard from Betty today. Maybe they are sending her home, but I think it is too soon. She needs tied down!

I went to Calgary and picked up Bob, so he's home for tonight - have to take him back tomorrow afternoon as he's got to be back for Tues am - someone says he may help us by taking the last load of debris for us. On Tues & Wed, we hope to have the last of our stuff here, in Torrington, if Glenn's up to driving to Calgary for it - Bob will load it and I think I have someone to help unload the one where Bob won't be in Torrington. Due to gas funds being short, we're not running back & forth in the car.

Oh Betty I bet you are so glad to be home. Were you able to make it upstairs to your own bed ? What are the exact physical movement the doc recommended for you ...... not what you think they are ? LOL We know you well my dear.

Going to be in the 90's today and the rest of the week. *Sigh* Got my hydro bill on Thurs and it was less than I thought it would be considering the AC was on every day of the billing period. Hard to tell the exact cost for the AC as hydro raised its rates again.

Need to get some things done today as I will not feeling like doing much for a day or so after my dental surgery. I am hoping there will be no sutures but in reality I probably will. My desk exploded so I need to find the top of it before my cleaning lady comes tomorrow.I also need to wash the Escape and clean the inside of it.

M hope all is well (as well as it can be considering your DGD's actions) in your neck of the woods.Might have to go the tough love with her. It will be harder on Murray than her. Has he sought any professional help about how to handle the situation ? Any type of fire is banned in my township.

Congratulations to Bonnie and also to you. When will she be home ? Big controversy here on the show circuit about all the inoculations the dogs have to have in order to compete.

Bonnie has one more show today, then none until the National in Rhode Island on Sept 20th, so I'll get to see her then. I'll probably leave her with Jenny until she at least has her major wins completed.
I think I overdid it at the fair on Saturday. Stupid knee is very stiff and swollen, a little better this morning than it was yesterday. Frustrating, it's supposed to be mid 70's out and I have so much yard work that needs doing. Hard to just sit and do nothing!

Actually Dianne, They got moved across this week-end. DS and friend who are here for the holiday just took their stuff over. Still more in the garage but it can wait a bit.

Company has been here since Thurs. today is pack it up day. Everyone strips their beds washes sheets and remakes. It's so easy on me . We've always done it that way.

Everyone's labour day is almost over, hope all enjoyed!

Got main 'me chores' done, pills taken,showered ,dressing over cut left off, new pad on drain area, washed my hair..did good..decided to sit up a bit then have late morning rest.

Few things I'm looking at like weeding never fit done, Greg and Jeff and few of the boys are coming later, I'll mention it needs done,know they know this old gal would soon tackle it and will get it done for me 😜

Started that when this was just a cottage. It got everyone on the road at a decent time and everything is ready when we come back. Changing a bed isn't so bad but changing 8 or 9 of them is a chore.

Having coffee with a childhood friend tomorrow ..Marsha and I have been friends since the age of 4 - 5 .. we figure skated together into our teens, then we sort of parted ways I went to a Catholic High School and she didn't ..
She went away to university, I went to univ here .. she became a Psychiatrist and married one .. her hubby is a forensic psychiatrist .. he has assessed Paul Bernardo and Carla Homolko .. bad news bears those 2 ..
Haven't seen here in about 7 years .. ought to be a nice morning .. hope I pass muster LoL
