Have wakened to what appears to be a 'rain day' .. weather liars are in rare form in these parts lately.

Betty .. maybe you should stick a Santa in the Canoe LoL
I have Murray's old canoe out back .. been there a good long while .. mind you it's covered with a tarp .

Well .. DGD came HOME last evening .. all we can do is hope she is back on track .. everyone is being optimistic, but guarded .. one of those 'Hope for the best, prepare for the worst' types of things ..

Betty, what a nice surprise for you.

We had a huge storm headed our way last night, but it split, and faded as it got closer. No rain.
Still fighting hives this morning, and lack of sleep does not help. It may take awhile for us to get comfortable to get a sound sleep.

LK do you think this horrible heat could be the cause of your hives? I don't recall you having them before.

Comfortable day here today. Norm is off to help his nephew and I am making hats for the knitting group. Have eight done (and I will try to get a picture) and have already turned in two. Ten should be enough for one person I should think. There are generally forty in the group and about twenty show up most of the time.

Sorry it is so hot up there Dianne. I don't miss the humidity now that it has been low for a few days. Will most likely be back again...
Off to do the machine. ~~~~ at all...

Dianne, hope you got your hair done,mince to find a reasonable place..went and got a perm,cut and set and she only charges $40..had her do it really soft, hate these tight grannie curls one sometimes get..and yes, big smile, I do remember a few elderly aunties with blue hair. Mom's hair sometimes has a blue tinge to it, she doesn't dye it, she buys specialty shampoo that takes it away.

Actually I remembered when Jeff said he should make a stand for it that Greg used to winterized the Foxy Lady here that he had stands to hold tarp up for snow load, no longer needed as we put her in a storage unit so these stands were perfect to turn canoe upside down and set it on the stands, they were thrilled. Doesn't need to be covered as its aluminum or so I've been told.

Barn, that is a lot of hats for one member to knit, I'd say you did your part. Any news on your picking up your quilt? Know she was away again but wasn't she going to be home this week?

Lindakay, you will be listening to any small noise since the vandals did damage, coukd the hives also be from nerves? when will you have to get the vehicles repaired by? Glad the storm missed you.

That bag of small 2 1/2" squares was helpful not having to cut up 3" squares,think I've sewn over 400...sure hasn't made a dent in my scrap tote.

Just flitting from project to project, passed by fireplace and yikes, ran my finger across it and it needs dusting so I'd best stop playing and get some dusting done

What is everyone doing for the long weekend?

I thought I'd change my plans from taking mom to Buffalo on sept 17th to this weekend, looked at hotel prices, double the price per night so sticking to the old plan ..better anyway seeing it's her birthday the 17th

DGD has caused a massive amount of heart break, and, continues to cut a swath of grief.
The BF showed up at DGSs window at 4am .. he went and got Murray .. Kai (BF) was strung out ..police were called .. DGD slept through it all ..
Police took BF to his grandparents ..
DGD wakened heard he had been there, ran out in the rain with DS on her heels .. she was barefoot .. Mother called police .. DGD wanted to charge Murray with assault ..
I can't go on
I am at a loss .. DS is in tears,
Asking for prayers please .. of course DRUGS are involved ..

I go to our local Beauty College. I like the prices but more importantly, they listen to me about how my fragile hair must be permed.

Hives are probably from nerves. I just keep taking benadryl.

Repairs are on us, and we have already ordered new mirrors for the mustang, they should be here in a few days. Easy to plug in where the old ones were.

Still $$$ though you needn't have spent.

Do you ever go through a period that all you want is food?? For a week now I've been unable to fill myself. Grrr

Almost forgot my membership was off, took 5 to pay for another year..sure goes up when they add the exchange but you are all worth it ☺️ How would I know you are ok, I'd be ever so sad missing you..

I have gone through spurts where I am hungry all the time, but please be careful, and make sure it is not from something else. You have been sick, and maybe your body needs what you are craving.

Hate to put back on those pounds though.

Afternoon ladies ! Hot, humid and hazy here again.

Betty were your ears burning today? I have another very important use for the satchel you made for the TH's treats. I need a keeper right now... I am misplacing things every day it seems. Anyway I don't carry a purse and usually put my wallet (actually it is a change purse) in my pocket. I was wearing shorts this am that I felt the wallet could slip out of it and I wouldn't know. So I put it in the dog treat bag along with some other things I would need. When I got out of the Escape I was able to use the clip you put on it to carry my keys. Excellent. In fact 1 lady stopped me in Food Basics and asked me where I got it as it made so much sense. I smiled and said an angel sent it to me.Didn't lose my wallet nor my keys or the apptment card for the dentist's apptments.

Toshed all over Ktown this morning going to a new pet food store and 2 grocery stores both of which were Food Basics. The difference between the 2 stores is staggering. Went to a Pet Valu usually go to Pet Smart. Big difference in the stores .... I'll stay with PS. One of the Food Basics had literally nothing that was on sale in stock except for chocolate milk. After the dentist I went to the second store and they had oodles of the items on sale. Hard to believe .. they are within 2 miles of each other. One of the cashiers that was here in Verona for 14 years is at the second store. They started her PT but quickly moved her to FT. It was so good to see her.

Visit to the dentist was just for a look see. Some teeth to be pulled and some cavities to fill. Then I will have a partial plate put in. Extractions begin next Tues. Oh joy!

Oh LK here I was bemoaning the fact my ankles were bitten up by skeeters Sat. night when I was out for dinner. I'll just be quiet and feel blessed........ still no idea what is causing the hives? Does anything help calm the itch? My mom used to make a gunk with baking soda and some other things to help ease the itch of bites.

Barb did you ever make any of those Izzy dolls that they give to cancer patients?

Didn't get my hair cut. I didn't have time before the dentist and afterwards it was packed. Maybe next week when I am in Ktown.

Karen how are you feeling? Sticking to your broth? Hard to do when everyone else is chowing down on the 'good' stuff.

Chaos is throwing the food bowls around so I had better get them fed.

Dianne, makes me feel good when something I've sent as a token of friendship is used...last bunch of bags I made had key chain holder, why I didn't think of it before is beyond me. Think I've 3 bags left in my tote of goodies.

Not good news about extractions and dental work..in some ways I'm glad I have teeth like the stars, they come out at night!

How exciting Barb, not only a visit but you get your quilt..you know we will be waiting to see photo's of it.

Played cut outs tonight, tired so will call working on the Canada piece till tomorrow..just have to cut out the Canada geese then quilt it

Not such a good morning,if I didn't spend the night with a vomitting container next to me, mega stomach pains and nausea

Need to get garbage to roadside, take another gravol and see how the morning progresses.

Not a happy camper, don't mind if it's the flu but Lordy hope not another bought of what I had last spring, in and out of the hospital for a few weeks was overwhelming

No sleep for my peepers last night .. stomach is in knots thinking about Brooklyn .. where is he, who is she with, is she safe .. she's a we bit of a thing to start with and Murray feels she has lost a good 15 - 20 pounds !!

Doing laundry on this lovely 70 ish day .. just a beauteous day .. for that, I am thankful .. may pickle some hot banana peppers later .. have to RE find the recipe .. Lorna and Gord broke open the first jar I did about a month ago, and, for a first attempt it seems they turned out well .. I am not a fan of spicy stuff ..

Must mention that the tote you made me Betty is used lots, and, I have had several comments :-) Lorna has a change of clothes in hers and some personal items that she carries off to work each day ..

Lorna was PRESCRIBED medical marijuana .. couldn't have it as it is not covered and the price is astronomical !!! So .. she suffers when she gets nerve pain or, phantom pain ..

The light at the end of the tunnel IS in sight.
Although our lumber cannot be released tonight as planned (I'll get Zack to bring our goods instead), it will get straightened out tomorrow. It seems that the cheque from the org that's helping us buy our lumber, got declined I'm sure I understand why - they likely have a block on cheques over a certain amount and ours is an unusual amount. Anyway, they have offered the option of a $20 rental truck to bring the lumber here. Also, they said they overcharged us and will return the funds to our debit card ($47 is nothing to sneeze at!). I'm trying to get in touch with Bob to get it done.
So, we get our lumber tomorrow (after this latest kerfuffle gets straightened out lol)
It's one thing after another, but people are helping us to get things done properly and it's all good.
I met a neighbour of ours, and she's a gardener too - and will share plants with me!
My honeysuckle has died - they dug it up too early and left it too long before replanting it. And it was HOT and got dried out. Not sure about my other shrub, but we'll see. Still waiting to hear from AlbertaOne (call before you dig) to see where I can plant things.

Well, our helper disappeared, and I think he's gone on vacation for 5 days. No answering his phone or messages. He was supposed to pick up lumber tonight, and then deliver some of our stuff away from old to new place.
What is with us and young people disappointing us by not following up on their promises.... oh yeah, answered my own question - young people Can be forgetful and thoughtless

Betty .. you had mentioned it was 'right sided' pain .. could either be gallbladder OR appendixs .. both of them have other symptoms as well .. including high temps/vomiting .
Perhaps you should get to the doc or the ER .. shift change is at 7:30am ..

Kind of a poopy day here, cool and overcast, nice to do some work outdoors.

Lorna had a call from her hematologist while we were gone, he wants to speak with her ... this will upset her .. she is NOT fond of hospitals etc .. hmmmm .. who is ?
hope she does it sooner as opposed to later as the LONG weekend is upon us.

JEEZE .. DH wants to do beef short ribs this weekend .. 3 packages with 3 portions in each .. $18. PER package .. bought'em ,but, grudgingly ..

DS and DGS saw Brooklyn last night for coffee .. she is in one piece, physically .. have suggested to Murray that he takes some time off from the railroad ..
