Happy Birthday, Barb!!
Wishing you a wonderful happy day Barb.
Happy Birthday to our sweet Barb!
D & TH
One of my boys brought up an 18 lb fresh beef brisket with a "here you go mom". Lacking any better ideas, I put it in my big roaster with a couple packages of ranch dressing mix and two of Au Jus mix. Threw it in the oven at 300 for 5 hours (Waaaay to big for the slow cooker), at four hours I put in a bunch of potatoes. I did not add butter because briskets have quite a bit of fat as it is. It was as wonderful as the pot roasts are. Everyone raved. The gravy was to die for.
That sounds good.
Drama going on with Sharon, Inuk was going to New Jersey show tomorrow
Seems handler (gay) boyfriend's dog attacked Inuk, not sure how bad he is so a friend of Sharon's is bringing him home
Upsetting for her
Someone tell me this recipe for the roast? Is it 2 packs ranch dry dressing and 2 aus jus gravy? I have to try this out I have heard so much about it.
I can't have anything with potatoes or tomatoes....but this sounds good with veggies!!!
Back from getting poked and prodded at the lab I am swollen up like a frog from the humidity! Don't know what to do, the lasix is not working any more. See doc next week and he will have todays results.
***Happy Birthday Barb**** Wishing you a beautiful day
In a pressure cooker
cheaper cup of roast
No water
On top of roast add
1 au jus
1 ranch
About 1/8th-1/4 butter (some who use 1/4 find it too rich)

Deb the above is great in the slow cooker. I usually start around noonish and done by 5:30-6. If the roast has quite a bit of fat, use less butter. I used none with the brisket because they have a lot of fat.
Thanks Karen,
Yikes, Melanie came in, asked about my back, no wonder I was itching, hives
Not sure which meds cause hives, maybe morphine?
Just what you needed Betty!!! I don't know what causes them.
Sending a thank you to all for your wishes today. I had a friend visit, heard from all the family and Norm is cookin'.... Cutlets for dinner - I love them.....
Betty .. it'd be one of the antibiotic causing the rash .. are you on a couple ?
Wonderful time out with my friend .. lots and lots of memories to laugh and chuckle about.
OMG re Inuk .. I hope he's ok sounds awful ..
Debbie, that recipe, I use a slow cooker, is wonderful .. !! Hope you feel better soon ..
I'm off for my shot of bugs tomorrow .. thinking positively +++++++

So sorry to hear about Inuk. Sending lots of prayers.
Betty, your hive could be from the morphine, but also the antibiotics. You need to call your doctor and let them know what's going on.
Debbie, sorry to hear you are swollen. I hope you get some answers soon.
Barb, glad to hear you had a good birthday.
Just crawled into bed, sore tonight
See the doc that operated on me at 8am when he takes out clamps, will show him then
Night night
Glad you are showing doc in the morning, I ended up with hives and a penicillin allergy. Not something to mess with.
My son made a squash dish a few months ago, now I beg him to make it, and I know it would go great with that roast recipe. Summer squash, zucchini, sliced thin potatoes, tomatoes....layer them in a dish, ...I have to beg him for his "secret ingredient" and then he topped it with cheese the last few minutes to melt. I don't know if it was Italian dressing or what he put on it, but so good.
Good morning ..
A 'dizzy morning' for me .. woke about 2am to go to the bathroom, and was just able to get there .. went back to bed hoping I would be OK when I got up, but, nope ..
Just walking and doing things slowly ..
Have appointments today so it had best bug off.
Betty you'll likely have to come off the antibiotic, or, go on another, just happy you're seeing someone as those rashes escalate ..
Debbie, that squash dish sounds awesome .. AND .. you look wonderful in red :-)
Guess I best check for skunks before I let my wee herd out

Just waving as I grab my keys, need to existed in then have staples out by 8am
Such a coward I am
Hang in there Betty, you can do it.
"M", sorry you don't feel well today. I hope the effects of those shots wear off quickly.
Didn't much like having the staples out after bypass but nurse was very kind and waited until I nodded for each one....there were 89. Hoping yours go smoothly Betty.
"M" be very careful with the dizziness, you don't want a fall. LOL, we stick our noses out first in the mornings to check for skunks before the girls are allowed out.
Omg and here I'm complaining over a few..didn't hurt at all
Got home and had visitors, then mom left for home. Acorn chairlift came, putting in chairlift system either Friday or Monday, big sigh, broke again, but on the other hand don't have to worry as knees/hips or whatever else goes on me that I won't be able to get into my craft room, heaven forbid 😜
Sure need a nap
Poor Inuk - hope he's ok
Betty - how many staples do you have to have taken out?
~M~ be careful with dizziness.
We found someone who can take all our debris to the dump, without charging us an arm & a leg ($500!!!). He'll charge $100 for his fees, plus $20 a dump run (x 3 = $60) not bad at all!
Bob's home right now - and put our rails on the steps. Hooray!
Chair lift is a great idea. I've been considering one sometime down the road. Much better than taking a spill.
Only 10 Susan
Great you got help
As for the stairlift, kids think I'm wacco as I'm so active and young they say, but the years go buy quickly, don't HAVE to use it but if/when time comes then I will be ready.
Acorn is the most well know company here in Ontario, lifetime warranty on moving parts, just have to replace batteries every 5 years, there incase hydro goes out
Hurting big time this aft
Morphine pill calling my name
Betty, what did the Dr. say about your hives?
Said some meds do that, seeing only a few more days of meds left to leave it, if unbearable call his office
I'm itchy but have a trusted back scratcher
Do you have a cortisone cream you can put on it? Do not use the ointment one, it ruins your clothes and furniture.
I will look
10 aren't so bad, Betty :-)
I think you're right - a chairlift is a good idea to think about before you need it. No point suffering when you need it and don't have one.
All the dump run stuff is gone, and so is the large cabinet. Now, to find strong backs to put the hot tub on the trailer..... and the piano!
We have a shed here, to store stuff, and our helper will bring a truckload of our stuff from the sheds, here - Christmas deco, tools, and camping equipment. Happy we have storage now!!
Then, we're Out Of Calgary. Bob thinks that he saw Marcel drive by, and leave, today. Good thing he didn't stop - Bob might be tempted to whale on him..........
Up n sorta at'em .. thunder storm came through about 3-4am .. so .. dogs on my had and under the covers .
My L arm where I had 'the shot' is sore .. usually is for a couple of days .. happily I feel OK ..
Going out for lunch with Jo Jo today .. going to a Greek restaurant so we can have 'Spanikopita' .. spinach pie ..lots more in it than that .. delish :-)
Betty .. I was so nervous about the staple removal .. like you, after it was done it was I wondered why ..
Karen, I would have had trouble with that many staples .. I just had 18.
MAN o MAN you guys down east are really suffering in the heat! PLEASElet it be cooler when we head down that way !!
Lorna has her NEW LEG!!! AND ..................... Kerry had a stroke !!! She had wondered why she hadn't heard .. when she went in yesterday he told her .. so .. there will be some changes there in the coming weeks ..
It was a mild stroke, but, and MRI revealed he had had a few small ones over the last while !!
Today will be her first day wearing it at work .. fingers crossed ..
Starting to worry about Sharon .. I sure hope she's OK
Waving to everyone
~M~
Betty .. Benadryl will help both orally (capsules) and topically ,spray .. can get it at Shoppers :-)
I have had plenty of staples removed from all the surgeries, but I had none in my hip. They used super glue to seal the outside wound, and I was so tickled when I learned no staples had to be removed.
YEAH! Lorna has her leg. Praying it fits perfectly, with no rubbing issues. Sorry to hear Kerry has had strokes.
Susan, so glad to hear you have everything removed. Does this mean you can apply for your check now?
Morning,
Like a steam bath here, Drats 96% humidity, rained good part of the night, back yard is 1 step away from being a jungle...guess due to humidity
Know I was a baby with 10 but we all have a.phobia about something.wow Lindakay, now why wouldn't they use that on incisions?
Hurrah for Lorna, for her to be wearing it she must be feeling as though it's fitting fairly well..wouldn't it be something if she could wear her new leg to the wedding? When again is it?
Susan, bet you are singing 'oh happy days'
Think Deb will be leaving for New Jersey shortly?
I too wonder how Sharon and Vern are doing?
Was in pain last night so today I'll try to do next to nothing..
I have some cutouts for snow people (upper part of quilt) and 5 Canada geese (Canada Flag) so that will keep me busy.
Was brought peach cobbler so think I'll have a coffee and treat myself
Sure hoping Lorna's leg is great this time, she's definitely been through enough with it.
Betty when you're hurting, be sure to take it easy on you. DGD delayed her recovery by trying to do too much. Mmmmmm peach cobbler.
Peach cobbler a tad too sweet, won't stop me from eating it though. Lol
You feeling better Karen?
Better news from our end - spoke to someone re: our old park - she says they pay out in 5 days from Closure! And she's putting me in touch with someone in her dept who's a counsellor and will help us through dealing with all the stress we've been going through and may be able to find someone to bring one of our sheds to us here. That would be great!
Bob said all that's left on our lot is our piano, the hot tub and two sheds. Everything else has been cleared away. It would be great to have everything finalized and $$ in our hands, to pay people back.
Then we can get on with the business of re-building our sheds.
Maybe we can actually get the rebuild done before the snow flies....
Gosh it will be great to have Bob home tonight, for GOOD! Then off to the hospital tomorrow for me lol Apparently, if you have to travel to your Dr or hospital visit, you get a refund on your taxes. Now that we live outside of Calgary, we'll be able to get it.
Betty - you're right about phobias - I don't like needles.
Karen - hope you're feeling better. I know, when we've talked you should chipper enough, but I still worry about you. You're doing better than you were, in the Spring, so that's a good thing :)
Marilynne - HOORAY for Lorna's leg!! Did it take Kerry having a stroke for it to get taken care of by someone else? I know that sounds terrible, but wonder if that's the case..... I do hope he's ok
All is well with the leg, it will need some padding up where it comes in contact with her 'lady bits', but, what she has done, at Kerry's suggestion, is she removed the old socket from the new leg and then put the old leg together again .. all done with Allen keys .. better her than me LoL , I cheered her on ..now she can wear the old socket with the new lower parts while the upper socket gets padded.
Apparently, a prosthetist has applied to work here with Kerry ... fingers crossed, the fella is originally from TBay :-)
Betty, how's the rash ? And, the pain?
Good news Susan .. hope all turns out well ..
Left arm is sore from my shot yesterday .. should be good tomorrow.
Waving hello to everyone
~M~
Sounds like things may be looking up for Lorna!! Hooray!!!
Glad to read things are moving along for you too Susan.
And Betty is on the mend and the rest of us keep plodding on. What a group we are ladies.....
