Great news Susan, know you were concerned...

We are in Gananoque, had supper then Linda wanted to go to the casino, Linda lost her $170, I lost $20' Rita won $130 and Suzanne won $390 so all and all a good day.

Today we met our schedule and to budget.

Tomorrow goal is Fredericton, New Brunswick..a 10 1/2 hr drive, add in breakfast, lunch likely a 13 hr day..

yeah, we were concerned re: age of our home, but...... it's all good!!
Did I mention that a construction contractor will work on our new place for 2 days for free?!?! OMG - that Smile Gang is awesome!!! He's been in the business for 13+ years, and owns his own company.
We have to get him over here to look at our current place so we can get things going.

Looking at Bettys post re driving 10.5 hours a day .. when we go down east for the wedding, we will do 5 hours a day .. I just couldn't handle 10 .. I get tired way too easily .. I actually think it's 6 hours a day .. want to arrive alive ..

Beauty day .. noisy Blue Jays again .. have a feeling the adults are teaching the youngsters how to SCREECH ..

Buzzed over to the cemetery around 10 .. had forgotten to pack Gatorade in Lorna's lunch bag .. she lives off of it and water ..

I took the grandkids home yesterday, and have been doing a whole lot of nothing today. Just cleaning the house a bit.

In your heat LK I would not be doing a darn thing!!! It hits 90 here and I am down for the count!!!!

The main portion of our home is all that's being moved. The additions will be demolished and re-built. We have a den (with my sewing area) and porch & deck to be rebuilt.

I'm so tired...... must be the heat - it's 27c now, and already 10pm......

Correct Linda, Karen is in Tennessee. Pretty rough two day trip, glad to be here. Will be here about two weeks. Having wedding shower for one DGD and her sister is having surgery right after wards. I'll stay until she's back on her feet.

The care and tending of memorial sites takes a very special soul. She deserves high praise for her work and dedication. It would be wonderful if the community could help with her rehab needs. It's not about a person with a handicap but rather how the community can come together to help her be her best self. You are extra special for your part in helping.

High of 64 today,getting ready for breakfast, then off for Gros Mourne boat tour of the fjords, fish lake and an evening show so very long day..
Think this wasn't one of my best ideas, much to much driving, hundreds of miles between attractions.lthink I'm getting too old for these trips!

Would it be possible to start a "go fund me" page for Lorna to get her to Toronto to a REAL doctor to help her get a proper leg? This is so foolish to put up with this Kerry. He obviously doesn't give a damn about whether Lorna gets what she needs as long he gets his $$$. She is a cash cow for him and he doesn't want to lose it hence no referral... How selfish can he be???????
Edited to add: I meant to say how beautiful Lorna;s work is and what an eye for beauty she has. Such talent is rare and should be honored.....

Thanks to all of you beautiful ladies re Lorna's flowers/gardens.
She is caught between a 'rock and a hard place' re 'the leg' ..
Kerry does NOT make it easy to move forward .. he, pretty basically, is, in the drivers seat :-(
Lorna would have to have all of her files transferred .. only he could ensure her travel to Toronto would be covered by the gov't .. and, as far as I am concerned, he's afraid that the people in Toronto will see what a toss off he is .. all these years and her prosthesis is still ill fitting and non functional most of the time ..
I salute Lorna for her strength .. she has a tremendous SPIRIT .. and I try to nurture that in her .. were she to lose it, well, it would be a travesty ..

It's truly a shame she has to suffer because is ego won't allow him to admit he's in over his head.

After a year of testing, my Dr. admitted he was totally stumped by what I had going on. He sent me to U of M. Unfortunately they couldn't find a solution for me either, but at least all avenues were explored.

You're right, Karen - it's ego on Kerry's part, to be holding onto something that he isn't able to handle. Lorna's a wonderful person with a lot of stamina but everyone has their breaking point. Prayers for Lorna & all she has to go through......
Beautiful gardens!

Lorna does such a beautiful job with those gardens. What if she were to tell Kerry she is moving to the Toronto area and needs records transfered? You are travelling east later this year, right? Maybe she could give her parents address as her new address. A bit of a lie, but if it can get her records to someone competent, might be worth it. Of course, that would probably mean lots of travelling for her to get her leg "working".

I should the good Lord would forgive that kind of a lie since she has tried all avenues with Kerry. I can't believe this person. He really should be reported.

Whew .. quite the day yesterday in so far as HEAT is concerned .. up into the 90s with that horrible HUMIDITY around 90% ..
Looks to a repeat today ..only thing on the agenda is a vet appt for Lilly at 2pm .. her right 'haunch' is still bothering her .. xrays are in order for sure ..

Re Kerry .. not sure if prosthetists have a 'college' or, governing body, like nurses, that they can be reported to .. and, once we do that, well, we would be on the 'poo poo list' for sure, and, the consequence of that could see Lorna back in a wheelchair with a none functioning leg.
We have met another of Kerry's clients here in TBay. Janice is a lab tech I used to work with at a local hospital .. I had no idea she too had lost her leg, below the knee' in a freak running accident .. she also sees Kerry, but, has started a 'group' to try and wade through all the ins and outs of him .. we now belong to it .. we'll see where that goes ..

Looks like Betty is enjoying the trip east, but,it's a busy one ..putting lots of miles on ..

She had to have xrays, ear cleaning, AND, a consult .. the bill was $600. as we went out the door, when we go back it'll probably be another couple of hundred .. GADS as Betty would say !!
DOn't get me wrong, she's worth it .. but .. here's hoping the other 2 stay healthy !!

To get to our boat tour we had a 3 kl walk in and 3kl walk out to get to the fjords.. That alone tired us out

Hoping to be out of here by 7 with a 5 hr drive in the a.m.

Changed our 6 hr ferry to a 16 hr ferry saving us an 11 hr drive Thursday.

Can't you imagine Viking ships and the waters teaming with cod? How splendid! BTW, that's a lot of meat on the hoof.

Starting demolition of deck on Thurs (and digging up of shrubs), going to Torrington on Friday after Bob's finished work. Saturday Yard Sale, then as of Monday it's one more week and the mobile moves. Have to check to see if we have a hitch - it would be under the berm in front, under our flower bed.
CareConnect in Calgary is going to help us with a loan ($500) until the City buys us out - we need at least $500 for new lumber for the new room - and we're going to talk to Lowe's about some sort of a payment plan of the balance. We'll get the buyout 20 days after the lot is cleared.
We have to take a sketch of the room to be built, to Lowe's tomorrow.

Lilly had been sedated at the vets .. she came home, went under the bed, and, came out at 2am to go out and have a drink of water .. today, she and Piper are off to be groomed ..
Good news, NO surgery needed .. she's on a pain med, IF we can get her out from under the bed .. as well as ear drops and eye drops .. wish us luck !!!

Was over 100F here yesterday, and, a repeat today .. gag me .. the humidity is awful ..
