Greg just dropped in with metal grate, Lordy talk about heavy duty
We set the pumps in the water then columns on the grid..skitters were so heavy both of us said I'd best wait till tomorrow..I've got screen to add so that mulch doesn't fall through the grid..once I lay it down which will only take a few minutes I can add mulch so you don't see screen, then add a few plants and project done IF waterpumps work. Lol. Doesn't look the best now but when finished I'm sure it will be and I can say I made it myself.
Greg is sooo like Roger, said he couldn't understand why in this heat I had to take on such a project, why I couldn't enjoy the summer and do these projects in the fall when no skitters and high temps..shaking my head. Lol
Told him I was making pies in the morning, what kind did he want, nope, no pie, he is trying to lose weight..he has had two acquaintances pass on in the last few weeks, one yesterday, 54, both heart attacks so guess he is taking it as a warning
It's been a day of visitors..mom, Kyle and Greg
Keep thinking if I did my pies tonight I'd have an easier go of it tomorrow..hmm should I or shouldn't I?
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new!
Will you paint the concrete, or leave them as is?
Those look so good. Make sure you bring in Missy.
Just checked, called and called grrr
Sorry I missed your birthday, Debbie - Happy belated Birthday!!
Went to Torrington today - a few pictures of the blank slate
1st pic looks like a chess board. In the center part, I'm on the street, then you look down the middle and it's my 26ft frontage, then where our home will go, then another area behind, then the veggie garden - all 150ft of it.
To the left, you see our parking pad for 2, then two cherry trees, then back to a rhubarb patch at the back.
To the right, you see our neighbour's parking pad, then their yard straight back.
Yard length is 150ft x 43ft wide. Much longer than our current of 65ft long x 39ft wide
We have plans for this blank slate.
2nd picture is the garden at the back of the yard, with a fence on the west side. Not long, just as long as the garden.
We move 4 weeks from today (Monday).
Morning ..
Do like the columns Betty, and the baked goods as well :-)
Susan .. you must be so excited to be so close to the move date !
46F here this morning, and, get this, going up to over 100 Wed/Thurs/Fri .. ugggg
Docs appointment went ok .. I'm slowly deteriorating, but, thinks the shot I get is helping .. as well .. one of the side effects of 'the shot' is, INTOLERANCE to heat .. I just get whoozy as all get out ..
Not sure what's up today, was supposed to be going for lunch with my BFF, but, she appears to be AWOL ..

Morning,
Not saying good morning yet, no Missy...😪
Really dizzy this morning and buzzing in my head no, not from the work I've done, think just because I've been up/down all night calling for her.
Susan, very country and quiet looking..am sure you will love it there.looks like a new park, are the trailers newer or older models? Don't know why, thought all parks had to have cement pads for housing the trailers.
Not much they can do for deterioration "m", this humidity plays a big part...hope you find you friend who is awol
Girls come today, I'll just sit and gab with them
I hope you find Missy.
Susan, that place looks nice.
((( Betty ))) I deliberately kept these 2 cats as inside cats. Especially way down here. After a couple weeks they stopped asking to go out. Now these 2 kits were twins and their mother was the lake hussy. I offered to pay the fee to have the mother spayed.
Sassy is quite happy being the Queen B upstairs while Streak stays downstairs. I have never seen her so talkative and asking for pets.
Susan your new site looks nice. Bet you will enjoy being outdoors more.
I see Mr Chaos has got himself in a pickle so I best go help him out.
Later,
Dianne and her TH
Susan, thank you for the birthday wishes....no such thing as a late wish, all are appreciated.
Betty if I had known you were baking I would have drove on over for a slice, we went to Harpers Bazaar for a slice of birthday pie. I wanted blueberry.....they gave me cherry. Was so busy I didn't complain, just ate it and left. DH had lemon.
Quiet day at home, DS was here in and out and DH made waffles for breakfast and steak and potatoes for dinner.
My health is not good, I am now on a low cholesterol diet, and doc is trying to decide if I need statins. Immune system in the bucket and they just shake their head at me....3 now don't know whats going on but something is. (besides the stress).
Just made appointment for haircut on Friday. Already have an eye exam Thursday, so.....going to get the week booked up so I don't sleep all day.
Keep reading M about Lorna and the new leg, sure hope it is soon, long over do with what she has gone through.
Susan, that new lot looks really nice and the room will be a blessing. Leave all the bad behind.
Waving to all.....
Debbie
No Missy
Am hoping and praying that Missy is just on a 'kitty jaunt' .. such a worry ..
Hi Debbie .. wishing you felt better ...your bday sounds to have been a nice day though ..
Have you been tested for Psoriatic Arthritis? So many auto immune conditions out there ... I would imagine you are on prednisone ?
Dianne, Sassy and Streak sound content with being inside cats .
Hope Chaos didn't get into to big a pickle.
JoJo remains AWOL .. no idea what is up .. kind of concerned ,but not. She sometimes shuts down ..
Had to bring Lorna her home trimmer as her cemetery one bit the dust .. gosh .. she has the place pruned and trimmed and looking amazing ..
Off to shell eggs ..
~M~
AWE! I hope Missy shows up soon.
Sounds like Lorna puts a lot of pride in her work.
No Missy yet? Where is that little truant??????
Here's the back of our property - with a garden already dug - very excited for next year - corn, and tomatoes - ROOM for them! I've already got a space for my garden bench, right in front of the spruce trees.
Every day at Noon, then again at 6pm, the church carillon rings, and we heard it yesterday at 6pm - so pretty! I don't know what the tune was, but I'm looking forward to hearing it every day :-)
someone asked if this was a new park? nope, been around for years - just that it's only 28 spots, and one of them is the landlord. He's very much hands-on with the lots and it's kept very clean & nice.
We don't have to have a cement pad in this hamlet - different rules than the city, I guess lol
Susan .. who planted the garden that's there now .. the former residents?
Certainly well kept :-)
Betty, has Missy come home?
Lorna is a professional gardener .. and VERY FUSSY about how things look .. neat, neat ,neat !!! It's her craft and she is good at it .. just hates the fact she is slower now with the prosthetic leg ..

Had an appt at 4:30pm, went to get my keys..noticed Missy laying in the drive..went to get her,I thought she was kind of limp..picked her up and pet her all over, she didn't make any 'ouch' sounds..layer here on living room floor and she walked over to the corner of the little cFeRea..gave her milk/treats, just lays there..went into town, made is snappy, couldn't find her when I came in, searched all over..just found her Percheron a/c platform..
Picked up Kentucky chicken, gave her some but not even looking at it..seems she is breathing heavier..ill keep an eye, if she stays same I'll get her to the vets
((((Betty and Missy))))
Keep us posted.
Hoping Missy is okay Betty. I know how worried you are about her.....
Maybe too much heat ?
Good morning ..
Hopefully everyone slept well, and all is right in your world .. lots to ask for so early in the day.
Betty, I hope Missy came around to her old self..
Heat advisory on here for the next 3 days .. 'supposed' to hit 105 with the humidity.
NOT looking forward to it.
Groceries today ..

Hoping Missy is home this morning. Not much new. Got the top for my quilt finished - now to round up batting and make some binding....
Morning everyone.
Betty I hope you got some sleep, and Missy is doing better.
I have to get a few things from Walmart. Tomorrow I drive to Uvalde to get the two oldest grandsons. They will be here for a week.
Morning,
Went to check on her, she had moved but had eaten the chicken..been searching for her for 2 hrs..under beds, corners, closets just incase I opened them, down, up,eye level and can't find her..
Thought that comes to mind is they find a corner to pass away..terrible thought..I will keep on the hunt
(((Betty and Missy ))) I don't know if you remember or not but Quill had spells much like Missy. At the time Warren and Stormy were so ill. One night I got her blanket and dragged her into her sleeping spot. I told I didn't have time for her to be ill right now knowing full well I would find the energy to help her too. Good that Missy ate some of the chicken. She had 3 or 4 spells that I saw but I coddled her along so she was with me for several more months.
I saw a perfect TV show for Susan and her tenants. World's Worst Tenants on Spike TV.
Stay cool and hydrated everyone. Blistering hot here too today. Sure glad I live on a lake and have AC.

Still searching, have no idea where else to look, cleaned a few corners while I was at it..dust bunnie, dust bunnies but no kitty..Lordy where could she be😰
Somewhere cool I bet Betty. My heart just aches for you Betty. The not knowing is what gets to me. Sending positive thoughts and prayers.
After 4 hours of looking, cleaning everything in spots I looked, finally decided to wash the floors, having company for supper, washed hallway, came down the hallway, trip into something, looked down, there is Missy looking at me as though I had a proble,..like to give her a good kick in the you know where..
So glad she's OK! She's probably been watching you search for her all morning. That girl needs to stay inside in the future!
I went on front deck to sweep, who is right behind me trying to go out..yep Missy, have her a swat with the broom, ever so gently..she has always been an outdoor cat but think I might go looking for a harness for her and tie her so she can still enjoy the outside....because she was a feral kitty when I got her I really didn't want to stop her from going outside, always said that the joy of freedom however short was better than keeping her inside crying to go out so I'll give myself a few days and see if I let her out.
Thanks for your concern..do any of you have outdoor kitties?
Missy doesn't usually go too far from home, Lordy I need something to calm my nerves
So glad to hear you found here. She is a little stinker for sure.
Phew .. so glad she turned up Betty...
Smokey came to us at 3yrs old, DDinlaw became allergic to him:-(
Anyway, he had been a house cat, but, since we had 4 other cats at that time, who were mostly outdoors cats, he just followed their lead .. he 'took a vacation' every once in awhile, but, for the most part he stayed in sight of the yard and house ..
H O T here .. ac is on .. took Lorna a lemonade after we got groceries .. she was trimming and pruning and watering .. total multi tasker :-)
Her boss told her his wife is 3 months pregnant, everyone is kind of excited .. they have a 3 yr old little boy right now ..
Just hanging in her
ENjoy your grands LK
HI Barb :-)
Dianne .. best time of the year to tell you to go jump in the lake LoL

oh Betty - how distressing...... first to have her missing away from home, then to find her laying in the driveway looking so limp (I agree - maybe heat exhaustion?), then to have her hiding in the house...... only to show up with a "what's wrong with you?" look - naughty kitty!!!
No, the landlords planted the garden, and they'll have it cleaned out before we move. I'll start fresh next year. Previous tenants had dug it out, I believe, but the landlords made use of it.
Today's a "clean & put away stuff" day. We're having a dinner party on Sat, with the young people who have been helping us this past month+ and with Doug - would like to introduce him to those who will be helping him on the 30th. It will help them to get to know him, too :-)
Susan, bet it's hard putting in your day seeing as the move isn't that far away..you leave most of your boxes packed? Nice to introduce Doug to the helpers..he will be a lot further from you than he is now?
70 with a feels like 75 kind of day..just came in from watering, not bad out really. Boy Thunder Bay has been getting high temps..usually the norm??
"M" how many cats so you still have? usually that is how Missy is "M" little jaunts but usually find her sleeping in the flower gardens. She is resting somewhere, her mommy is thinking if having a nap...company won't be here until 5:30 so that gives me plenty of time to put potatoes on..think I will make salad then nap, that way all messes are cleaned.
Hope you got a nap Betty ..
No kitter pusses here .. Smokey was the last one after.. hmm .. I guess 7 !
I have hinted, but, DH is not in agreement .. and, with 3 dogs, I kind of agree.
Have a nice dinner on Saturday Susan .. I am sure Doug will be pleased ..
ROASTING here ..........
Remind me I said that in January LoL
~M~
Cleo Bad Cat will be moving across the street with DGS & family. Cleo likes to go out, no traffic here to worry about. Now Ducky, we just got him. was of necessity an outdoor cat because of Brody's allergies. However, since he has been here, he never goes anywhere near the door. Perfectly happy going bed to bed upstairs.
