Thanks for the new room Betty :-)
My lord is it WINDY here of what .. had I have sat on the bike in the back of the truck, I would have looked like the wicked witch of the North LoL
Got the bike, and, it is AWESOME !!!! The lady I got it from, also a Marilyn, is celebrating her 78th bday today, she also has a Westie which is how we met .. she is a lovely lovely lady, both her and her DH :-)
L O V E the bike ....
Had a text from Lorna while visiting with Marilyn, her $1000.00 VOLARIS walker BROKE in 2 and she was headed home to get her junker ..
I am FURIOUS .. took pics and have emailed the company .. happily, Lorna was OK
Sounds as though everyone had a good weekend .. we are sitting at about 65F .. and, I am waiting for trees to fall ..

~M~
84 feeling like 99. High winds..hearing storm moving in..already had weTher warning..hoping it's moving past us.
"m" that bike is priceless, omhpg I want it..dear friend for sure to have gotten it for you.
Poor Lorna, that is beyond being terrible..hope quick action is taken and a new one sent to her via ups..
Still in my jammies, did my hair at least but seeing it's this late in the day think I'll pass on getting dressed..did work on the British Columbia quilt block x3 but ran out of medium grey for the mountains..going to go and check the tote once again just incase I overlooked it.
I hope you get results from the company "M". I love that bike.
I hope you have some fabric you need Betty.
No fabric, tornado warnings coming on tv..but think it's Towards Ottawa way..hoping Dianne is getting the rumbling and not the storm..stay safe Dianne!
Gusts here of up to 80kph (about 50mph) we have about 4 trees down, and one fell smack across the green house, the shelter we have for the riding lawnmowers is all topsy turvy .. quite a mess ..
Heading for bed .. nursing reunion tomorrow, will be 20 of us.
Those were the days :-)
~M~
Sorry to hear of the damage "M". I hope it is not too bad.
Stay safe in those storms.
good morning .. the wind died down by about 8pm .. probably lots of trees down in the back 40 .. calm this morning ..
First morning in a long while that I have even felt like getting up .. seemto be kinda less ouchy, and ready to tackle the day.
Hope all east of here are OK .. umm .. west and south as well :-)
Toodles
~M~
Worried about what I would find this morning, branches down but nothing more..will be a sunshine day, near 70, just perfect for me.
Enjoy your reunion "M"
Got really yucky around 3 yesterday, went to bed and fought it, still queasy this morning, not vomiting though so hopefully that is the end of that.
Nothing too exciting today, girls are coming, usually they are gone by 1:00 and if I don't feel well they can do their own thing
Hope everyone made it through the nasty weather without too much mishap..will look for update from Dianne.
Morning everyone.
Betty, did you hear anything from your Dr. about the device you had to wear?
Made it through the storm but wow it was loud. Duke spent the night under my T shirt. We practised all of us getting into the tub. Took a minute then I realized they were waiting for the shower to come on. Turned the water on and we all fit with no room to spare. No damage to speak of but I haven't walked the bottom 2 acres yet.
M and Betty I was watching the weather map and it looked like you were getting it too.Boy M is the greenhouse fixable? Enjoy your reunion.
Not much sleep here but might just try for a nap later.
I should go to the Ron's funeral but it is just my thing that haunts me. With the storm last night I didn't get to the Funeral Home for visitation either. Maryl understands my quirk about going to funerals. In fact she called the other day to tell me she understands. Hint - do not take a small child to a funeral where the person is laid out where the dining room table usually stands.
Cleaning lady is here.Wooo Hooo.
Dianne and her TH
oh Marilynne - poor Lorna! That's an expensive walker to just break in 2 like that. Glad she's not hurt!
Betty - glad to hear you weren't sick. You Do Not want to go through that round again. I've been wondering how you were doing. It's been, what.....2 weeks since you were in the hospital?!?!
Glad you ladies made it safe & sound through that wind storm!
Today I go to see my cardio & my pulmonologist, and get a chest x-ray. Hope I can ditch the Warfarin. It seems the last couple of times my INR has increased so they're lowering my dosage yet again. When we move to Torrington there is no Mobile Lab, so would need to go to Olds for blood work. It would be nice if I were over that need to take Warfarin...... here's hoping!!
Yesterday we went to "our" new Park, and took our friend from the other side of Olds to see it. It will be GREAT to have a good friend living "so close" - only 1/2 from her place - from Torrington to Olds is only 20 minutes, and she's 10 min other side of Olds. Her hubby has the only car and he heads off to work with it, so although she Loves the area, she's on 22 acres in the middle of nowhere. No way to get into Olds to shop, etc. She's a really nice person, and it would be great to have a friend close by that I get along so well with.
Awesome reunion luncheon, 22 of us .. safe to say all facets of medicine were covered.
Just before I left home at 11 the dang WIND came back! Read Gordon the riot act about working alone with the machinery ..
Got home and he fired up the chain saw and half cleared away the tree over the greenhouse .. just too windy ..
Dianne .. the visual on the tub is wafting through my brain .. must have been scary ..
I know DS is NOT a fan of funerals ,, my Dad died when Murray was 11, and, they were very close .. Murray was heart broken .. then Gord's Dad, his Mom and my Mom ..
No use forcing it.
Cool here. barely 70F ..
Off to clean and fill the Hummy feeders

Dianne - just re-read your post, and My Goodness - how Scary! Tornadoes are nothing to sneeze at. My prayers of joy are with you all, that you made it through safe & sound.
btw - looked at something about how to transplant shrubs, plants, etc
"Overcome Transplant Shock
When repotting plants or moving them from indoor to outdoor planting, they sometimes experience “shock” and begin to die. This is known as “transplant shock” as is typically the result of the roots being damaged during transportation. Epsom salt can help your plants overcome this shock. You can either sprinkle some Epsom salt around the soil near the base of the plant and then water it, or sprinkle Epsom salt into the hole or planter that your plant will be moving to. But before moving your plant, make sure you cover the Epsom salt with a bit of dirt."
I just got some good news - I am OFF Warfarin!! It was a 50/50 thing - Dr says I'm doing well, and have a 1 in 3 chance of getting clots again, but I am DETERMINED to keep active and not have it again!!! It means less computer time, but if it means me staying healthy, then so be it
Glad to hear you had a good meeting "M".
Susan, that is good news.
Good morning ..
A 40F morning, and, by the looks of the weather forecast, a coolish day, and, hopefully NO WIND !!!
Good news re the warfarin Susan .. nasty stuff .. Lorna is on it for life ..
Tried to sit outside for a bit last evening, but, the mosquitoes had other plans .. annoying things ..
Off to purchase the flowers to fill up the bike .. won't place them in the holders until I have painted it with some kind of rust paint.
Does rust paint come in nice colours ?
Hope everyone is well, and, has an awesome day :-)
~M~
Morning all,
54 here, breezy..high of 68 so perfect day..
Great news Susan, never had to take that med thank goodness, I'd be terrified!
How long before you get news that municipality approved financing your move?
"M", yes they have some nice colors in spray..several other rust paints other than Tremclad..I'm no so sure I wouldn't leave it as is but then I like the rust look as you can see by all the rusted garden art in my gardens.
Lindakay, was going through my fabrics and found my bag of RWB, seems odd not being in the swap this year...miss the swaps
Have a 10am appt in Barrie with gallbladder specialist for consult, doubt my problems were because it it but doing the elimination thing..then off to the fabric shop, tonigh its Honey Harbour for supper so a full day.
Caleb looks great Betty. That must have been fun..... Almost looks like wedding pictures!
Lordy, hope not for several years, don't have the wedding quilts done yet. Lol
I have two DGDs marrying a week apart this fall. Another DGD is having surgery and I will be going to stay with her and kids for a while. Got home to a surprise here....another baby is in our future...Amelia is OK with it as long as it's a girl. She want's nothing to do with a brother.
Betty how awesome Caleb was in an advertisement. Braedon has that log cabin for the summer? How fun is that.
We are finally getting some nice weather, still cool in the evening though. Nice for sleeping but too chilly to sit out even if the skeeters would allow it.
I had warfarin for a while when I developed blood clots. The Dr. said 6 months and I held him to it, right to the day. All the blood draws were a pain..literally. Now here I am having the draws again because I'm bleeding too freely. Would be nice to strike a happy medium. Not complaining though, I have a few things going on but they are all ones easily dealt with. There are so many worse things out there. Really feeling good right now, plenty of energy.
Karen couldn't agree with you more re the blood draws. I too was on warfarin for an extended period of time. Luckily because I lived in a rural area they came to me - 3 times a week. The results would go to my GP and then he would call me to tell me whether I needed more or less of the dreaded warfarin. The Ortho surgeon insisted on the warfarin as a few months before he had a patient die after his surgery and it was blood clots.
Need to go.. I see some strange man in a white van looking lost and bewildered on the lane. Diesel and I will go help the guy out.
BBL
Dianne and her TH
Morning everyone. Skeeters are bad here too.
Congrats on the new one on the way Karen. When is she due?
Betty, the boys are growing into fine young men!
Dianne, I worry about you living out in the country. Do you carry a gun with you?
Wow - what a good looking guy Caleb is! Braedon's "home" looks great! How long is he staying there?
I have my blood draw yesterday 0 HURT like the blazes. My going "rural" means there's no one to come see me - no mobile labs, only those in Calgary, even though the nearest large town is a College town and quite large. They don't have anyone to travel. So, if I have to go to a lab, it's me hoofing it to them.
Well, another day and I'd better go have coffee, breakfast and then head out. We have an office chair that keeps going down and we're taking it to be fixed where Bob used to work. Bought the new piston for $15 and they'll fix it for free. Bob doesn't have the equipment to clamp it to a bench, so they'll do it. Church friend works there so they give him "employee discount" even though he doesn't work there anymore
LK I appreciate your concern but I am very careful . When I approach someone on the lane I always have Diesel with me. Usually just the sight of Diesel beside me has a great effect. And yes I do have a 38 hand gun and assorted rifles and shotguns. In fact I keep 1 in the closet right by the front door.
Betty what a handsome DGS you have. Does the log cabin have running water and hydro ? Where are you ?? Everything OK ?
Hope to BBL
Dianne and her TH
Guess we are blessed in my area as the people who take your blood will go any where in our county. They loved the fact both W and I always wanted the earliest appointment.
It all depends on the health system. Ours is Alberta Health, and they don't travel outside of major cities.
Glad to hear you are safe Dianne.
Betty, adorable photos. Handsome young man with a fine looking girl. Your day is already over so hope you didn't overdo it.
Everything is good here. Vern hit a doctors appointment yesterday and his blood pressure was low so of course they put him on another medicine. And he came home disappointed because the doctor did not fix him. And it this time the only thing that can fix Vern is Vern. I have had two days with no pain pills except for first one in the morning. I am very pleased about that. It seemed good Monday when my hips just started moving right. So I guess as my back heals, my hips will get in the groove.
We are still in a heat wave and it felt hotter today that it did yesterday. It was actually 3° cooler but maybe humidity was up the probably still below 10%.
Susan glad to hear you're off your blood thinner. They are wicked. Vern is someone that doesn't have to be monitored. Very very expensive. Big move coming up. I bet you can't wait.
Marilyn, Glad to hear you're back in the groove. Have you heard anymore about Lorna's walker? It's a tossup about the bike. I like rust but then I like the clean look. It will be interesting to see what you choose.
Dianne, how is your back and how is the TH. I told Vern yesterday about your TH. He was surprised. Told me I wouldn't be able to handle them and I agreed.
Not much else going on because it's too hot to do anything. Talk at you tomorrow, hugs Sharon.
Morning ..
AS always, love the pics ... hope Braedon does well in the cabin, will he be guiding ?
Dianne .. white van .. my heart stopped as there was an 'on the lookout' for one here last week, but, it was found, HUGE drug bust ..
I have my PACK between the back of the house and their gate, were someone to come, they'd have to decide as to whether they would try coming inside .. those Terriers pack a nasty bite if provoked, or, they see me not liking the person ..
We also have forearms, and, I know how to use them, as long as they aren't locked up with trigger locks on them ..
Lorna gets a 'finger poke', almost like a diabetic monitoring machine, when she has her INR (blood clotting level) taken, which is tonight .. we travel to it though ..
We live out of the city limits, but, still have access to blood draws at home if needed ..
Well .. the bike took $100. of flowers, which are planted, but, not on the bike as of yet .. I think DH and I are heading for town to look for paint today .. I HOPE not in his truck, jayzus, is it a beast .. brand new and just HUGE !! I have to take a run at it to hit the running board and get in .. then it's like you're in a 747 !!!
I like my Toyota :-)
Hope everyone has a wonderful day .. Karen, congrats on the new arrival (pending)
~M~
"M" that's how I feel now that we are back in a Suburban. Thank goodness for handles and running boards. We always had Suburbans for so many years, I rather enjoyed having a normal car but hubby missed his. We still have kids travelling with us so often, it makes sense. If he gets another one though, I'm going to insist on a power lift to get all of me up into it.
drats, just wrote a novel and puff in cyberspace grrr
be back in a bit
What did I miss, re: Dianne? Was there something police-related?????? Sounds scary whatever it was.
Marilynne - "on the lookout"...... yikes!
Karen - we have a "normal" car, and now that we're getting reno materials for building our new additions, I'm missing Bob's truck.......... I'll have to check with Bill & Linda to see if there's any storage in Torrington, for us to store some of the material?!?!?!
I think this is the thread that someone mention taking turmeric for pain and different things. I am going to get some for my daughter. How do you use and how often to take it? I think it was you Marilynne. Thank you in advance.
back for a bit then heading out to Barrie, guess who left her ipad in the fabric shop?
Everyone is busy, shows summer is here and cooler temps, well at least here..
Liz, did hear turmeric was excellent, even for the furries, will go insearch of info for you..likely girls here will have answers.
"M" flowers are so expensive but what an eye popper the bike will be..will it go in front of your home..meant to as as well, any reply re leg and walker??
Susan, didn't realize Bob got rid of his truck..I sure miss having one, always something I want to use it for
With Jeff offering me his new Jeep for our trip that is one of the concerns, no running boards, likely have to bring a step ladder with us should I use it lol
Sharon, wonderful that you are feeling so much better..poor Vern, yep, in order to to get better many times its how much energy we ourselves put in to exercise and good eating..is Vern still eating little?
Dianne, not sure about running water or hydro..will have to ask Jeff..I would think it would because Braedon is not doing the 52 day trecking but is now Director of a section, with having to make arrangements for food being dropped by helicopter and what else comes with the organization of these outings I'm sure he'd need wifi.
Caleb leaves next week..does July/August, not sure if he is in same camp as Braedon, likely not.
Liz .. yep it was me. and, so far I have just cooked with the turmeric.
I have psoriatic arthritis, and, turmeric is supposedly an excellent anti inflamm ..
Some people make a 'paste'
http://www.turmericforhealth.com/turmeric-recipes/how-to-make-turmeric-paste-or-golden-paste
I am on an anti infalmm twice a day, so, I would have to be careful, and, if you have a bleeding disorder .. not the thing for you ..
Anyway .. DH has so nicely sand papered the bike, and primed it .. it's so HOT outside, no place for me .. do not take heat well ..
Lorna is going to purchase a new walker today, we'll go after her work .. get her blood tested (INR finger poke) then to Shoppers
The main company that built the Volairs walker .. Eurovema in Sweden is gob smacked that the walker broke, want it back yadda yadda .. the company here down east somewhere, is kind of frantic that I will have to do this as I am NOT happy about having to PAY to ship to SWEDEN !!
I would ship to them, them could forward it on their dime ..
X-L-Ent care products is their name ..
Gives me a headache, and we worry sick about Lorna with that beat up one she had at home as her security !!
The Swedes also are trying to think of what SHE may have done 'wrong' .. I sure set them straight on that line of thought !!
Off to make supper
~M~
Tell them if they want it back, they better send money for postage. What's the latest on her leg?
Absolutely postage should be on them.
