Made it to Kearney, Nebraska. Severe thunderstorm warning going on now. I drove through some interesting weather just west of Omaha. Really heavy rain and hail.
Pups are hyper after riding in the car all day, but with the weather don't want to spend too much time walking them.

Well I almost finished cutting the lawn down to the lake. Still no weed whacker. Grrrr.The grass on the lake side is almost up to my waist. I need to take a scythe to it.

It was hot and humid today. My hair looks like bed springs.

Still don't have my pump into the lake hooked up. I think rather than wait for Steve I will hire Mark to come in and get it done.

Poor pup M. I bet she will work this for a bit. She knows she has you right in the pad of her foot. Poor darling though.

Diesel is barking up a storm out there so I best let him in.

Seems your doing well with the grass though .. watch out for ticks .. a lady brought her Weineriner (sp) into the vets yesterday, had found a few on him and was freaking out .. can't say as I blame her ...

Lilly had some bread bits soaked in tuna water last night .. this morning I'll try her on softened kibble. She hasn't moved from under the bed ALL night ... worries me .. but, then I talk to myself about what she went through, and, I am better ..

Foggy and 51F at present, Lorna will try to go to work, and then to the prosthetist .. fingers crossed.

Dogs should be rockin and rollin soon ..

M if I freaked out every time I found ticks on the TH I would probably get locked up. Its just a matter of course here. The TH go through a full pat down every time they come in the house.I found 2 on me yesterday when I showered.

Going into the village to see if the Rona hardware has a trimmer advertised. If they haven't one of the elusive trimmers that I am seeking. off to Ktown. Its only $55 so if I actually do find the other one I won't be out of pocket too much. I was going to go into Ktown but if I can avoid it I will. Wish me luck.

I caved and turned the ac on last night I can't sleep when it is hot. It was still 25C at 10 pm. Got a nice deep sleep for a few hours ... it was heaven.

Hope Lily is OK this morning. and you are back in her good graces.

Morning everyone. 79 already today, looks like it will be another hot and humid day.

Long week end for us. No one is traveling here, so it will be a nice and quiet week end for us.

First ones came in last night, more today and tonight.

We stay put on all the major holidays here in the warm months. It seems like every citizen of Massachusetts has a camp or cabin up here and they migrate up on Memorial Day/July 4th and down on Labor Day/Columbus Day. And they are nuts on the road!!! They all need to be "first"..... Then we get a break until it snows and then we get all the skiers. They don't seem as bad as the roads could be slippery so they seem to be more cautious. But I wouldn't be anywhere else!!! LOL

Not on computer much - packing. Bob's job finished yesterday, so I have his long reach, quick moving, and strength to rely on for packing.
it'll go quicker.

Ended up having to go into Ktown to Canadian Tire. I got a battery charged grass trimmer. Now if I can get it together I'll be in business. I'm almost done and ran into a snag. I'll leave it for awhile then try again.

Looks like Amazon has started to ship with FedEX. I am very impressed with the service.Of course when the driver arrived this morning Diesel, Chaos and I were out playing. She has a Rotti too so wasn't afraid of the boys.

Glorious day after a cold drink I think I will finish the lawn on the lakeside.

Barb I couldn't agree with you more about the roads..... of course in May we have both our Victoria Day and then your Memorial Day. Crazy out there. As locals we all shop for groceries before Fri. We are hoping with the exchange rate this year business will be brisk. Our village needs it badly.

This is three season resort area (Summer, hunting, skiing)so we don't get many breaks crowd wise.

Dropping by to say howdy and wish everyone a safe and good weekend. We are back in the city for "staycation" plans with family. We're going to take the kids and grands to the Tellus Science Museum this weekend, go hiking and have a picnic at the nature preserve and go to the High Museum of Art. I've probably mentioned here that we do a lot of food recovery volunteer work. We have a commitment this Sunday to pick up at a local market and deliver to a shelter for women and children. That usually takes half the day. Since we'll be in the city center we'll go out to lunch and do the museum.

It's been a drama free week here. The kitchen garden at Maypop is coming along. Still lots of planting to do but the jungle is getting tilled and tamed, section by section, and more and more dirt is turning green as vegetables sprout. I can't wait to get there each week and jump out of the car to see what's growing!

Are you hooked up Betty ? Warren had that machine strapped to him back in the 90's for 24 hours. He wore it while he was cutting wood. His idea was the machine needed to be put through the activities he did each day.

Someone hit a rock with their boat near our dock. They really hit it and will need to be pulled off by another boat. I feel sorry for them as the boat was borrowed. I gave them the names of a couple guys and their #'s. Told them if they wanted to wait on the dock they were welcome to do so.

M how is Lily? Has she come out from under the bed? Have you come out from under the bed? How did Lorna make out today ? This guy needs a comeuppance ....what a jerk.

Dianne did you get the weeder going? Lordy I remember those days when water levels were down, so may hitting rocks, mega $$ repairs, not a way to start a holiday or enjoy a day especially when you've borrowed the boat.

Your weekend sounds like fun..is there a watering system at Maypol or are you there often enough not to worry about the gardens. I can appreciate your wanting to jump out of the car with excitement to see the gardens, I do my walk around every morning with coffee in hand to see what is new..is indeed wonderful to see new growth.

Glad Susan that Bob is able to help out with the heavies..how many more sleeps? Know you are tired but bet you are getting the jitters, to finally be home

Lindakay, what did you get up to today, with such high temps bet whatever it was is was inside activity.

I like Dianne will break down and put my a/c on, no sense having it then tossing and turning, not being able to sleep because of the heat and humidity.

LINDA came over at 7:30a.m and stayed till just after 2, Rita came over for a bit so we had a nice visit.

Was going to go to town but decided I'd wait till morning..need some boulders so my cousin Doug can try to drill them, would love to make kits for rock bubblers for a few friends, let's hope his equipment works, he is trying to come tmr afternoon or Sunday morning..calling for rain both days.

Was lazy so ordered from next door Greek salad and chicken souvlaki..ate 1/2. The salad and am full so guess the rest will be tomorrow's lunch.

Duke and Chaos are going nuts - there is a painted/mud turtle trying to find 'just' the spot to lay her eggs. What a commotion ! Diesel is looking at them like they are nuts.

Oh Betty what a beautiful looking couple. Where does Caleb go to school ?

Boaters have been rescued. One person came with a boat and another with a car to pick up some of the very upset kids. What a way to start your vacation.

Oh Barb I bet your nephew is as glad to see you and Norm as you are to see him.

Lilly is doing well .. in fact, unbelievably well .. eating (softened kibble) drinking and doing what she's supposed to do outside :-)
The vet tech called to see how she was, that METACAM (doggy anti inflamm) works SO well to keep her pain free.

Lorna.. I am sad,,, feels she is going to be fired due to her stump .. Kerry could not get the new leg on .. honestly, it is just a very stressful time .. I know it will end, but, Lorna is caught up in the moment ..

Andrew dropped in 1/2 hr ago..he was just finishing his day..said if things went well tomorrow and he finished his job he would come and finish the pond area..sure hope so.

Can't believe. How quickly the a/c is dropping the temps, it said 80 but in 1/2 hr it had dropped to 77... Should be able to enjoy a good nights rest.

our tenants are now saying "noon is not acceptable - 7pm is"
I told him that, according to RTDRS, the move out is to be "no later than noon of the last day of tenancy". As he had stated, on April 30th, that they were ending the tenancy in 1 month, I told him that noon on May 31st was the last time that RTDRS would allow the move out.
He tried to ask if we were making arrangements with the Mayor to have the home destroyed or were we moving in.
Oh, and he's asking where to deliver RTDRS legal documents. I told him, as the mobile is our legal residence as of noon on May 31st he can put the documents on the door.......
He said that he's paid May rent via the Damage Deposit, to which I replied that according to RTDRS, damage deposit cannot be used as rent and that we would accept email transfer not cash for the rent.

He's pushing my buttons, but I won't give him buttons to push, nor will I reply to him snarky comments.

Oh M this guy who is making Lorna's life miserable makes we want to spit.Surely the Board where she works will understand. My goodness is not as if she just takes days off willly nilly. She has shown them what a good job she can do. I feel so bad for her.

Been a busy morning, did the town dump, picked up. 5 bags of black mulch, groceries then homeward bound. Missed Andrew, he had been here, small pond gone 😢..now for raking area level and put down slate..unbelievably hot and humid ( for us)

Have shrubs and plants that need to be relocated, holy wag, too hot to do it right now, will wait till early evening.

Drats forgot to pick up gift for Melanie, her birthday tomorrow so must run into town, one of the stores had lovely planters, perhaps I can get her a few
