Our lawyer sent a letter giving them 5 days to pay the rent or vacate. They would still owe the rent but we could ask for immediate eviction.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

11 weeks of therapy is complete. And it was awesome. I got a lot of muscles working again in my leg, that I have not used in years.
I am really glad I had the hip replacement surgery.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

The rent and deposit are the same - $900
By law, they cannot use the damage deposit to cover rent.
They've caused damage - told me so, but are blaming the damage on us (poor workmanship) - the home was built in 1972, but more "damage" has happened in the past year than was ever evident in the 9 years we lived there before.

Hey dee ho ..
Guess like everyone I keep thinking of Judy .. and, thinking back on my own wedding .. I have to say my Mom poured her heart and soul into the event .. I was little help as I graduated from nursing on May5 .. wedding was May12 and, My10 I wrote my RNs ..
By the time the Saturday of my wedding came, it was all but a blur ..
As I said, my Mom was wonderful ..

Well .. we had 45 sec of a snow down pour around 2pm .. hokey doodle, I had just brought the dogs in, and, WHOOSH !!!
Still cold here .. 45F Lorna is getting off early as the boss has deliveries to make.

Susan .. I am LIVIS re Lorna .. I have been to the local MPP, and the MP .. went to the paper, wrote letters .. because, you see, it isn't just Lorna not getting care in a timely fashion .. I hazard a guess as to perhaps 55 to 65 clients .. and, the 'process' is formidable !! Moulding, shaping, cutting, padding .. then it has to be balanced, and certain shoes knock it off kilter .. sigh .. just keep on I guess ..
Good luck with those tenants !!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Marilynne - let's be livid together. Each for different reasons, but oh my gosh - 55 to 65 people having their lives turned upside down and unable to live a more normal life because others don't care the way they should!! Wouldn't it be nice if the shoe was on the other foot? (no pun intended) Those in charge of getting things done would do it a lot quicker, doncha think?
It's sort of like when politicians get their streets and sidewalks cleared FIRST in the winter....... preferential treatment.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I tend to think being angry gets us no where .. and so ... we carry on with feelings held inside.
The prosthetist IS an amputee .. below the knee ..all his 'work' was done in BC about 15 yrs ago .. and, he knows 'the score' .. but .. I think Lorna is easy $$ .. smack me .. but, she has 2 gov't agencies willing to accommodate payment .. however, they cannot push a timeline :-(

Bed time

~M~

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh yes, I remember you saying he also is an amputee - that was awhile ago you mentioned it and my crs kicked in
Good night Marilynne - sleep well

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

My 'CRS' has been quite active as well ..
Got up a few minutes ago as I KNEW something was amiss .. the wind chimes are bonging away .. and .. are you ready for it ? SNOW!!!
Just a dusting, but, the ground is white .. the dogs must know as they won't get up ..

Happy Days .. I think there's a wedding today :-)
Thoughts and prayers for just the best day ever ..

Off to my parents plot to water the pansies, then to the dump, then .. well.. who knows .. all depends on the weather .. fingers crossed the Pansies are hardy ..

Enjoy your day

Morning all

Big day in the Sutter family today..hope it's everything Judy wanted for Julia's wedding! May it be a sunshine day to add the topping to this glorious day.

Hard to believe"M" this late in May to have snow, even a dusting of snow..

Got most of my shopping done yesterday, picked up my vehicle' new battery and check up $300, can't fine receipt for battery I bought in June so no $$$ as a refund,,sigh..bought curtains and quilts for one of the bedrooms, needed a change..
Awaiting to hear from the boys as to if the work day is today or tomorrow, mud tomorrow I'll run into town for planters/shrubs and lawnmower belt..in the meanwhile I'll put grommets in the canvas screen for gazebo..got to hide the neighbours yard somehow..see that the trees are starting to hide that mess..will call township Monday to see if they have heard anything from owners

In the meantime, time to start being busy

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending love and wishes for a joyful day to Judy and Steve as their daughter Julia gets married. I know the tears will fall Judy but happy ones are always a good thing.....

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Crappers .. what a perfectly FREEZING day here ..
Did get to the dump .. ewewew ..
Neighbours came over for tea ..wanted us to know they may not be going east for their cruise (the locks Trent canal/ Severn I think) as the wife's brother who is normally fit and well, had been feeling a bit 'off' and, has been diagnosed with cancer of the stomach and liver :-(
Gosh .. blew us away ..

Snowed off and on most of the day .. squalls mostly ..
Hope tomorrow is better ..

Guess Judy is partying away .. as it should be :-)

Sleep well everyone

~M~

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Was a great day here for a change but already the storm clouds have come and the rain will start soon. Very chilly here now. Glad Norm got me out while it was nice.
We went to one of our granddaughter's band concert. It was fantastic. A 7th grade band that sounds like a high school one. Really enjoyed it.
Then went shopping which I seldom get to do . I really need to learn not to be afraid to try one of those scooters. I'm so afraid I'll hit someone.

I have had Judy on my mind all day. Sure hope the wedding went off without a hitch.... She worked so hard on it.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Hope the wedding went well.

So cold and overcast all day. Went up to Wisconsin for a lure coursing event and it snowed. I am still so chilled. I didn't expect it to be that cold, or snow, and of course wan't dressed for it. All day outside, no shelter from the wind or snow. Going to crawl into bed and see if I can find a movie to put on.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Marilynne - what a shock for them, and for you as their friend!!!!

Barb - I look longingly at the scooters, too (even one with rear view mirrors!), but never use them - I have hit people and display stands! They just don't have very good steering, I've found.

Yeah, wonder how Judy's doing - I'll bet she's getting all kinds of compliments on the work she's done! I'll also bet she's glowing with the excitement of the day :-)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Give the scooters a try Barb. I love them, most have speed control so you are in charge. I try to walk as much as I can but some days and the bigger stores are just too much.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Few flakes falling, now turning into rain
So much for weather this weekend and chores to be done, on the good side they are calling for a gorgeous long weekend coming up.

Be live USA also has a long weekend as well, anything soecial planned?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning ..
Chances are, Judy is facing the 'morning after the night before' .. LoL
Always a challenge if you've had WAY too good a time, and, have to get up after little sleep to prepare a morning meal for visitors ..
Betcha it was a wondrous day ..

Ugg Deb .. bone chilling cold is what it was here too .. loading the truck to head for the dump my hands about froze !!
Hope you were able to warm up ..

Barb .. Lorna has used the scooters .. she likes them, but, is a bit nervous driving them .. I find some of the stores must forget about folks who drive them, and, put displays up in the middle of aisles forcing them to either back up, or have someone try to move the display so they can get by on the scooter.

Still cool here .. never did get to the cemetery yesterday .. plan to go today ..
Course, I have about 5 other things on my list as well .. have no idea where the time to do them will come from ..
One is to make a Caesar salad .. and, I think I will go and wash the romaine lettuce now ..

TOODLES

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Only 36 degrees here this morning! I feel bad for the poor robin sitting on her nest outside my door.
Heading back to the coursing event in an hour. Trying to get laundry done this morning, so I don't have to worry about it when I get home.

Deb

Victoria Harbour, ON

You must be feeling a tad better this morning Deb to venture out again.
Weather about the same here, easy to be chilled to the bones
"m" wouldn't doubt Judy has a bit of a headache this morning,,still much to do today so she will act chipper as can be.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sooo cold outside, managed to get dressed, headed to Barrie and bought some baby fabrics so I can start a baby quilt..new book I bought while in Florida..quilts are 3D

The owl's feathers are dimensional so baby can play with them

Let's see if I can't get ambitious

I love that quilt Betty.
Glad to see you are feeling better.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

it's 63F here at the moment - lovely and sunny, too

Betty - that owl is adorable! What a great gift for a baby - 3D for the baby to play with it :-)

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Sweet baby quilt .. love your choice of fabrics :-)

Up early, an eye docs apt for 8am for DH .. lots of stuff to do before I go ...not to mention the travel to town in heavier traffic .. takes us about a half hour, but, I always plan for 45 .. ya never know .. between school buses, wildlife, and Monday morning drivers it gets interesting ..

40F right now,but, expected highs all week of 70 -75 F :-)
Only fly in the ointment is the fact we have had little rain, so, the fire ban is still on ,,

Have a wonderful day ..

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Sunshine day here but will have a high of only 50, later this week not much more than high 60's..amazes me "M" that you being so north of us has the higher temps.

I got enough rain over the weekend for me, you and anyone else who is in need, looks like clear skies for the long weekend.

Bought patio chair covers at Canadian tire the other day so decided this morning I'd put out the patio cushions, might even sit and have a coffee and enjoy all the growth in the garden..Sooo many tones of green.

Looking forward to seeing flowers in bloom.

Yesterday I dropped in to 3 nurseries and couldn't believe the price of the shrubs, imagine, $24.99-$45 each, yikes

Did fall in love with a tree peony, it was already in bloom $79.99
Almost came home with me but I decided that I would wait until the pond area is done and maybe find a place to highlight it..

Bet you've all got pretties in bloom in your gardens

Hoping Judy will drop in with stories and photos of the wedding..excited about that.

Hope you get to enjoy a sunshine day!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That is adorable Betty. Anything that stimulates them is such a good thing.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Sounds like it is warming up for you guys.

A few things blooming in Texas
Red indica canna, yellow canna, purple mexican petunia, caste tree, (we call them Texas lilacs), and pride of barbados.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lindakay, what gorgeous blooms..are you getting to spend time out in the gardens or is it way too hot to do so..surely NOT that hot yet??

I hung the backdrop I made to hide a bit of the neighbours yard while sitting out, don't like it..checked Canadian tire..they want $150 +taxes for matching gazebo enclosure, almost tempted..big sigh..do I really need it?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We have been getting a lot of rain, so temps are not too hot yet. It got to 98 a few days last week.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I see that some people's Bleeding Hearts are blooming - hope mine is too, and I'll find out when we move back :-)

ouch ouch ouch - my Vampire came this morning, and Boy did it HURT! needle hurt coming out, too! Set me to tears, and I don't cry when I get needles...... but THIS one Hurt!!
I hope that I get to stop blood tests in June, when I see my anti-coag Dr (June 21st). Would be nice to quit taking the Warfarin too..........

Starting to do some packing, as of this afternoon. Have lots of boxes and tape, now...... to get Going on the packing lol Place looks like a tornado hit it - things are out, and boxes are in evidence, just that the things are put in the boxes yet lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Don't overdo Susan..
Guess your landlord will also be pleased to get their home back, wonderful that you were able to stay while all this mess was in the works. Sooo hoping everything works out this time without mishap..want to hear "it's so nice to be home"

That is hot Lindakay..didn't hit 50 today this the reason I didn't do a lot outside..put the back curtain on the gazebo, pulled vines from side of the house and that is about it.

Just ran hot bath, going to relax

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Just a quick blow through and caught Marilynne's post about garlic in dog treats. Our dogs have small amounts of clean salad trimmings almost every night but our vet warned that anything in the alium family is toxic to dogs and can cause hemolytic anemia or gastroenteritis. Their digestive system is apparently unable to digest a component toxic to canines. And...garlic is five times stronger than onions. Google it to verify please.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Very interesting Laurel..

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Had one of the dogs in for a pre op assessment today, and asked the vet, he asked how much I use .. I said one tsp for 8 dozen biscuits, he laughed .. said NO fresh garlic .... trust me .. I would never use something without researching .. those 3 dogs are our 'precious cargo'. ..

Turned into a gorgeous day today .. sunny .. BUT, cool :-(

DH eye apt was awesome .. all is well, pressure is stable ..

LK .. those blooms are spectacular .. :-)

Betty hope you had a nice nice bath

Marilynne - glad DH's exam was good!!

Betty - definitely NOT overdoing. In fact, I may be Under-doing lol!! Just started packing today........
Just spoke to a lawyer - he advised re: unpaid May rent that we'll have to wait the 2 weeks because it's only 2 weeks to the end of the month when they're guaranteed to be out anyway.
He advised:
1. Get their forwarding address because if they haven't paid rent, and there's more damage than the Damage Deposit covers, he can send a Demand letter with the law firm's letterhead to them
2. Make 2 copies of the walkthrough and get them to sign and give them one.
3. If they refuse to pay May rent, we have already sent (May 11th) that fact to Residential Tenancy. This will "cover" us should they demand any damage deposit, and take us to Residential Tenancy.
4. Do not be confrontational during the walkthrough - just say that you won't speak to them about it, and move on to the next item.
5. We had, in the same email to them and Residential Tenancy, sent an email to Public Health stating that there is "no ongoing Public Health Order" against the home they are renting.

Anyway, we will do a walkthrough with our friend Margaret and ourselves, and will not be separating our group - we are to go together.

Verona, ON

Today is National Choco Chip cookie day. I managed to buy some cookies even before I knew it was a special day.

Touch wood my shingles shot is not acting up at all. Wish I could say that for allergies.

Bitter cold here all day plus some snow.Snow has all melted now.

A nice hot bath sounds wonderful Betty. I usually just shower as the TH likes to join me.

LK your flowers are wonderful. Did any of that horrid rain hit you at all ?

Interesting about the garlic.I knew it before put can't remember where I read it. A Rotttie group that I belong to suggests tumeric (I know it is spelled wrong) be added to their food.

Well I've managed to hide Diesel's 51/2 pills in his canned food. Usually they only get about a tbls of canned food on top of their kibble. That is working right now but I know I will have to come up with something else.

Barb were you hit with the snow today ? Made me happy to read that you were able to get out and about with Norm.

Susan I bet after you are back into your home you will be too excited and exhausted to have a good sleep. But bet after you have been there a few days you will sleep like a log.

Judy I bet you are exhausted. We are all waiting for photos.

My bleeding heart plants are flowering. Don't have to worry about the out of control Goat's Beard by the front door. The TH has managed to dig it up. Tomorrow if the rain stops I;ll relocate it.

Sweet dreams everyone.

Dianne and her TH

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks, Dianne - yeah, we're going to be pretty exhausted and excited to be back home. I'm glad we'll have a security system re-set back up as of June 1st afternoon. Thinking about getting an external camera, because I just plain out do not trust our tenants (former, at that point!!!). We may not be able to sleep for nerves - Marcel has a terrible temper and when he finds out we don't have to give them the DD right away, I can only imagine his temper tantrum. He's not past doing some pretty nasty stuff to our home after they're out. They would be liable for trespassing charges if he's found to be returning.

Lawyer also said we need to get a licensed contractor go through the home with us (after the walkthrough with our tenants) and get a quote of any and all damage, which we would present to them with the DD assessment.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Chocolate chip cookies sound good.
We are getting an inch or so of rain every few days, but no flooding like the East part of Texas.
Susan, I wish you all the best with your tenants moving out, and you getting back in your own home.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning ..

Dianne .. I use the large GREENIES pill pockets for the dogs, they LOVE them .. pricey but, they are always moist and tantalizing .. the pill pockets are big enough so that I can pinch a bit off so each dog gets a bit, but, 'the mother load' goes to the one the pill is intended for.
I am ingesting turmeric for my arthritis .. so far I remain at status quo .. it's supposed to help inflammation .. course, I'm hit and moss with dosing myself .. it's a curry based spice and I seldom use curry .. I do have a recipe for Turmeric tea .. just have never made it ..

Susan .. all I can say is, all the best ..
When you get back home will you be then looking to move your trailer or move again before the closing date of the park in 2017 ?

Am thinkin Judy is in recovery mode ...

I think it might be grocery day here .. used to like going for groceries, but, now it's just a chore ..

Take care everyone

~M~

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Our tenants did their major move out over the week-end. We still don't have key but hubby and neighbor dod outside walkaround. Good thing. "Somehow" the hose was hooked up to the well and left running outside down into the field. Neighbor is tall enough to reach in and turn it off. She showed up a while later, said keys will be returned today and junk cars removed. Said she didn't know about the hose, maybe the kids did it......that's baloney...kids are two and four. took a six footer to reach the hose. plus the well lid is way to heavy for kids to move. They also left the back door standing open.
