Marilynne - have you found the belt? I sure pray so!

LK - glad to hear you're doing so much better with the leg raises!! One day at a time

Barb - soon you & I will both be new "moves". So happy for you that yours went well and you're obviously happy there :-)

I put in for a "move change" with our TV & Internet, now having to call for our power & gas. Making the change for June 1st, but it may be 1 day earlier if they move by noon on the last day of May. It's possible, and I did send them an email asking if they were moving then.

Verona, ON

Oh my Betty that yard and knowing he brought 2 more loads of junk just makes me shake my head. Glad the town is on top of it all now.

Took a quick trip into Ktown this morning to deliver the tax info for my 2 friends in Shanghai. Frank called me on Fri to ask if I had taken in his info. I was floored. So I had to go through all of their mail (I collect it) to see if there was anything in it the accountant would need. I felt almost like a voyeur going through their mail.

I did find out my back can't handle a trip into Ktown just yet.

Poor little Chaos has another black fly bite on his snout. Those little bu*&^%gers take a chunk right out of you.

Need to go do something useful even if it is wrong - that is what Ernie used to say.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Gadzooks Betty .. does he actually USE the stuff, or, is he a hoarder ?
Can't pass up a deal, or, something free ..

So, you have a PICC line .. my gosh, what they don't have lay folks doing now .. in my hospital the PICC is inserted and an xray is taken to make sure it's in the right place .. sometimes a 'flashback' (bllood return in a syringe isn't 100%) .. but, times are a changing .. taken care ..
That panel is outstanding, love the wee Goosy heart and webbed footprints, heck, I just like the whole dang thing LoL

ST Anthony must be busy .. the belt is still missing .. Lorna was home at noon today .. and, has spent since 1pm working on TESTS .. WHIMIS, Poison control, all sorts of topics .. she goes online .. it's like open book testing .. once she logs in, they know she has read the materials and done the tests and passed .. every so often we hear an expletive from the room LoL

DH is home .. enjoyed himself .. he travels with 3 OPP officer friends .. can imagine there is never a dull moment .. he wants to go to another show next weekend .. just overnight one night .. I told him to go and enjoy ..

Dianne ..we've had no rain, so, no black flies.. yet .. supposed to rain tomorrow .. we'll see
Hope you got all the pertinent info for your buds, I know whatcha mean about going through other folks stuff .. I am NO good at that at all !!

LK .. my right leg shook and jumped the first few times I actually got it off the bed, but, I kept at it, and, it eventually came around ..

Susan .. best of luck with your move home ..

oh Betty - may not be "junk", but it sure is junky-looking, all over the yard..... things (if he's planning on actually using it) should be properly set up. Does he have kids?

Marilynne - how much does a new belt cost? Tell "the house" that you're going to have to buy a new one, wait a couple of days, and it may just give up the belt LOL (sorry, couldn't resist - but houses do "hide" things that they only give up once they figure you don't need them anymore!!)

Dianne - take care, and I know those "little" doggies of yours are doing their best to look after you, too! Well, I'm sure they think they do, or they try........... or well, nah, they're good company, you're their maid LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yuk, not feeling very good tonight
Please lord let it not mean a trip to ER

Verona, ON

All day I have been expecting rain any minute but none so far. The sky is very dark and menacing.

I appear to be losing my battle with Momma robin. She is determined to build her nest on the top of my motion light that lights up the front of the house. Wonder if it is the same robin who has been trying to build a nest there for the last few year - 5 I think. I worry that heat from the light might cause the nest to burst into flames.

M I have reread the book about Gander and 9/11 a few times.

When Warren was ill I gave him his meds through a PICC line when he was at home. Yep I bet if there was a way for people to do xrays at home we'd all be doing that too. I was nervous the first couple of time I did the PICC as I only had the nurse for 1 day. I hated giving Warren needles in his stomach... I think it was Fragmin - for blood clots. It really hurt him no matter what I did. He had lost so much weight there wasn't a lot of extra skin to put the needle into.

Oh Susan where in h*(* did you find these tenants? I will bet you will never rent again. I always said I wouldn't but ended up when we moved into the new house renting the farm house. A few problems but nothing like yours. What you and Bob are going through is what they make books and movies out of......Good luck with the move.

Barb glad to read you are settling in.

Chaos has a growth coming up on his right cheek. We see the vet on Mon for his and Diesel's spring tuneup. If I get too anxious I'll see if I can get in sooner. When I first saw it last week I thought it was a tick. Diesel has a growth too on his right front leg. Welcome to Rotti world.

Sharon how are you doing? I can't even take a picture of my fav pie plate to show you it smashed in a zillion pieces. It was made by my friend a potter Jeph Bailey Brown. Actually I think if you Google him you can see his work. He uses pastel colours that I just love.

Dianne and her TH

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

lol Dianne - I think they did make a movie using our tenants, OR our tenants watched the movie and decided they could do better? LOL
I've been told I should watch the movie Pacific Heights.

Someone who posts in another thread was talking about a BIL who rented to a tenant who was so paranoid that he said his neighbours were sending microwaves to him. He had lead-lined furniture, and put tin foil on his windows. The landlord was getting complaints from the other tenants, so he moved the furniture out so the tenant could pick it up and move away. Apparently the furniture was HEAVY and it was moved from a 2nd floor apartment. The tenant was happy to move because he didn't trust the other tenants. The landlord's helpers had a heavy job to do, and the tenant got a free move!
Talk about paranoid!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning ..

Susan .. I just told the house that I am off to buy a new belt .. my fingers were crossed though, so, we'll see if that works .. a new belt would be in the area of about $150.
I do believe I might have seen Pacific Heights .. if that wasn't the title, it was another movie about professional 'squatters who take it upon themselves to ruin other folks lives .. .. course, it might have been something on TV.

Betty .. are you OK ? Hate the fact you feel so rotten.

Dianne .. are Rotis prone to skin issues ? All the best with them..
Lilly is booked for dental work on May 26, we're kind of in a flap over it .. she has beautiful teeth, but, ONE molar is looking just awful and needs to be extracted ..
Have never heard of Jeph Bailey Brown, but, love how JEPH is spelled :-)
Have never seen that before .. I must look him up ..

Off to lunch with Jo .. supposed rain later .. already 49F

Best get on with packing up Lorna's lunch .. she may just get in a half day today ..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Worth the trip for the lunch. Good luck with your appt. Safe travels.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Marilynne - I hope you hid your crossed fingers behind your back....... you don't want the house to have seen that!!
$150? yikes!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Hmmmmmmm .. no posts from Betty .. I don't like that at all ..

Fingers were crossed UNDER the table Susan .. am just home and am going to make another circuit of the house to see what I can see ..

Have fun LK :-)

Lunch was amazing, gosh .. 2 1/2 hours and they never threw us out LoL

cool and spotty rains here .. and, I do think I may have an allregy to something budding or blooming .. oooooooooooooo .. gotta go .. HAIL !!!!!!!!!!!!

I am back home, had a great time with the kids.

I had to look for this thread. No threads are showing up as new post, even though there are. Another DG bug?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening, I'm here,
Back in hospital
Boys just left so will get comfy and call it a night!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Betty. Keeping you in our prayers.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

GOOD MORNING ..

Holy cow Betty .. I sure hope the docs are able to diagnose and treat you.
In my prayers .. hang in ..

LK, good to hear you had a nice time :-)

Off grocery shopping today, with DH .. never a fun time as he can be either compulsive buyer, OR, questions me on what I am buying LoL

BBL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning
Think now they are grasping at straws
One suggestion when they send me home is to send Ativan with me, when I feel a bought coming on to see if taking it wil release muscles and stop the vomiting..that is not what I want to hear, suppress it? I want to know why the vomiting and how to make it stop.
Grrrr

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Praying for answers Betty. Sure wish there were something I could do to make this process easier for you. Sounds like a nerve may be "out of whack" to trigger the throwing? Just thinking out loud here.... Have you had an endoscopy? That is where they send the camera down the throat to see if there are problems....Very easy test and they knock you out for it... My kind of test!!!!

Verona, ON

((((Betty)))

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Home from shopping ..BUMMER .. got to the store and realized I had left Lorna's debit card and NoFrills 'points card' at HOME !!!!!!!! GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Got what I needed but will go back tomorrow for her stuff, have to be in town early anyway as DH has an eye appt.
Have come to the conclusion that MEGA multi tasking is not my forte, my brain gets muddled in the rush to DO all and everything RIGHT NOW !! Am learning to SLOW DOWN, but, it's not easy !

Flippin well frigid here ! With the darned NW wind we are at 34F !!
Stopped by the cemetery to give Lorna a coffee and we had to leave .. she was dressed warmly, but, her face is getting wind burned ..
At least we're not up in the MEGA forest fire in Northern Alberta (Fort MacMurray'), my nephew in law has an electrical business up there .. he is in 5 weeks and out 2 weeks .. he has been evacuated .. my niece and the 2 girls will be happy to have him home safe ..

Betty .. do you have 'vertigo'? Starting to sound like an inner ear problem ..
Ears are weird little dudes, specially the inner ear .. things get 'OFF' kilter in there and things just don't 'fly right'.
I sure do hope they offer you more than ATIVAN .. gawd, you'd be zooed !! Then, you'd likely have a fall ..
Prayers as always ..

Having an issue with FBook .. off to fight the dragon :-)

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for all those in the area off the fire.

Betty, I am praying hard they find a solution. You said earlier that you have minor gallbladder problems. It may too much for your system to take. Maybe if they removed it, it would help you?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waiting for date for it Barb

Health care provider just came in, when you've been admitted as many times as I they want to know if I'm considering outside help, considering a seniors home etc..crap, hell no..not at that stage yet am I? She left literature and said to read and she would be back tmr to go over it

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What can a seniors home do for you when you get sick, they send you to the ER! That is ridiculous!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Wow! I would be furious with anyone for suggesting a senior home! I agree with Barb, that's just ridiculous! They need to get to the bottom of your issues!

Verona, ON

OMG Betty what nonsense. Just shows how much they know about YOU.Maybe someone to come in and clean your house for you but that's it.

LK is so right .... a senior's home sends you to hospital if you are ill.You would go crazy in one plus you have an excellent support group.

It rained here and the sun was out. Chilly here too M. Not chilly enough to keep the black flies away. I have a doozy of a bite that I got on my calf yesterday.

M you send me your crud.

Dianne and her TH

Victoria Harbour, ON

Didn't dare tell Greg or Jeff, mother were reeling about mini suggestion it 's stress related etc that doc Rebecca eluded to so tell them this and they would be furious....sheet asks that my info be given re health issues, meant think I need to do that right now.

Think it hit 61 here today, gorgeous days to be home for.
Mom again is staying at my house so missy is not alone.

She came to visit today..she should have been here when this health link agent came

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Debbie I know if you were feeling better you would have decked that woman. I would've told her that I'm not in need of a senior home your staff needs to be educated to figure what's wrong with me.

Marilyn I did that before broke my back I went to the store that everything my cart went get stuff out of my wallet to pay for it and had nothing in my wallet. No check or credit card. They were all on the table because I was looking for something I left them there.

I have silver sports car and I have sold my SUV. My daughter and son-in-law about the SUV which is it 2003 did has 60,000 miles on it because she is a great big suburban and now only two kids left at home she doesn't need the Mormon mobile. It's a nice Lexus SUV and basically looks brand-new. She is still bringing over dinner every night and taking us to our doctor appointments. Yesterday we spent three hours at the retina specialist for Vern's check. When the doctor was out of the room Vernon asked me why we were there and and I said because you insisted on another doctors appointment for your eyes. He gave me the strangest look.

Verns granddaughter is here from Portland Oregon for the week working doing billing for Dr. And then also running around taking care of us. Not before last around 2 AM the burglar alarm went off. Scared her to death and I couldn't get up fast enough because it of my legs hurting, I would say I always do when I'm laying in bed, to turn off the alarm and answer the phone which would be the alarm company. So then they call Tracy, My daughter, and woke her up at 2 AM in the morning. We never did find out why the alarm went off because it was no wind but we have had a rash of people breaking into homes, even when people are in bed asleep so it was difficult to go back to sleep.

Our weather here is absolutely beautiful. That yesterday will be 90 degrees and then by Saturday we'll have a slight cooldown into the low 70s because some oysters head this way from the north west. Thursday and Friday of last week we had a total of 2 inches for the two days. We usually only have 4 inches of rain per year.

My tomatoes are in full bloom so the cooldown will help set on tomatoes so that's a good thing. We had a big hail storm here last week but it was on the other side of town. Thank you God.

Marilyn did you guys ever find Lorna's belt? You just have to sit down and think where would we put that because you probably put it in a very logical place you're just clamoring around and not thinking about logical place she put it.

The owls are back in our Greenbelt so now I have to keep an eye on the cats.

Dianne I hope you're feeling better. I am so sorry that Canada having such a bad fire. I hope they get under control. There's one in California by Ventura that they have about 40% in control.

Betty you could try googling your symptoms and maybe Google's doctor could tell you what's wrong with you and then you can tell your doctors there.

Linda is so happy to hear that you're doing so well. Hopefully your pain has diminished.

Karen I hope your tenants have moved out so you can start working on your house across street and Susan we really don't know if your tenants are ever going to move out.

Barbie should be settled into your new digs by now. Did you get the new material for the curtains and get them made.

Betty please keep us posted.

So glad I have no idea what the black fly is and do not have to be bothered by them.

Hugs to you all and I will be back send. Hugs Sharon

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

At this point I'm not sure what my tenants are doing. We don't see them but they have not disconnected power as we would be notified.

Betty I'm so sorry you are getting such a run-around. I would tell them that if they want to experiment with you, they can do it while you are there. Good Grief what if you had a bad reaction to one of their guessing games.

Sorry I love my sistahs to the north but NOT a fan of Canadian health care.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all,

Doc Rebecca just came in, Greg and SIL Suzanne was here, Suzanne who spends mega time with me was able to answer some of her questions..

Outcome

. Going home tomorrow with a 24 hr monitoring system
. Family doc gave me meds for high blood pressure, well blood pressure is very
LOW so I have been dizzy thus could create nausea so she will lower meds and
See..with losing so much weight she thinks my I don't need blood pressure meds
. She is referring me to a specialist in Barrie re Gallbladder
. Also referred to kidney specialist
. going to give me Ativan so that if the urge to vomit is there I'm to take one and see
If it relates the muscles as not to vomit

So did make a few steps in right direction I think

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Is your mom still at your house? I just hate the thought of you being alone.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I agree with Karen - hate the thought of you being alone.......
Oh Betty - to be in the hospital again, and then to have them refer to you needing a senior home?!?!?! Scary thought!!!!!!!!

On the plus side, for me......... Our tenants are agreeing to a walk through of Our Home, on Mary 31 at noon. They'll then give us the keys, and they're OUT! phew......... about bloody well Time! We're looking for someone to go with us on the walk through, that's been there just after we moved out and before they moved in. I'm hoping the lady who helped clean after we were out will come. She's from our church, and I could sure use her. It's been suggested that Bob & I stay together, and that we don't get confrontational with them (nah, not going to - just will tell them that we have up to 10 days to give them an accounting of the Damage Deposit). If they attempt to come back after they move, it's deemed as trespass, and I will report them for such if they do!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Up n at'em .. well, at least I'm up .. at'em will take a bit LoL

All I can do is wish you the best Betty .. I would hope it's a low dose of Ativan (0.5), and under the tongue .. weird thing about Ativan is that, at times, it doesn't work right away .. like the Karen, I hope you have someone there at home with you ..

Nice to hear from you Sharon :-)
I'd send you a black fly or 2, but, I'm revelling in the joy of not having them around ...YET ..
Hope you find your new car easier to manage ..

Best get on with getting on, these early morning appts are tough .. even the dogs won't get up !

Got the fabric for the living room valances. It was fun shopping with a friend. We laughed over the silliest things. Hope to sew over the weekend. Have doctor appointments today and tomorrow.
Was chilly yesterday so sat watching the TV under a blanket!!! Was bored just sitting there so pulled out a piece of cross stitch I had started a while ago. It was good to be warm and doing something at the same time!!! LOL
Glad to hear that Greg and Suzanne were there when the doctor came Betty. Another pair of ears is always a good thing. Senior home indeed!!!! I'll pray that the answers come soon. At least it sounds like the doctor is trying. Social services are another thing altogether.
Off to get ready for appointment - it is an hour away now that I have moved but that is just fine with me.....
Hope you all have a wonderful day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Barb so great to hear you were out shopping, AND< you have your material ..
Hope your appointment went well

Betty .. . are you home ? Take good care young lady ...

Nephew Jack is back from Fort Mac .. doubtless he'll have stories to tell .. took quite sometime for him to eventually get home ..
He has likely lost his business .. BUT .. he is alive and physically unharmed ..

I am exhausted .. been up since just after 5 .. and am doing a slow crash .. foolishly threw a great load of clothing into the machine, after I hung it out I had to go and lay down for a bit ..
Just waiting for Lorna to come home .. about 4:35pm

Will be in bed in timely fashion

TTFN

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Marilynne - SO glad that your nephew is unharmed by the fires in Ft Mac.......
Hear about those that have lost everything in the fires, and some aren't realizing that They Have Their Lives...... so they have to start over with help from generous people, BUT they have God's love and their lives, so they're ok

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

This grandma is busting her buttons with pride. Grandson Will received his Masters today.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congratulations Karen.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That is fantastic Karen. I imagine you are floating way up high right about now.
Glad to hear your nephew is home safe "M". Hope Lorna is able to cope okay until the new leg is ready.
How are you doing today Betty? Always on my mind.....
Had my appointment with the pulmonary doctor today. All is well. He is keeping me on a very low dose of prednisone which really helps keeps the mucus moving and makes it easier for me to get rid of it. I am feeling so much better now. Tomorrow I see my primary and hope to get answers regarding this anemic business. From what I now understand, the red blood cells are the ones carrying oxygen to the cells and if your red blood count is way down, that contributes to my problems. If I am not making enough, that cuts down what my cells get. Is this right "M"?
Off to do some "playing with the fabric" - have a great night everyone.
