Best, worse, what did I learn today?chat with friends old & new
Thanks Betty Let's hope this works now. I was really going crazy for there for a while.
Happy Sunday everyone. Hope it is a great day. Will catch up with everyone soon....
Whew, thanks for the new room.
A bright sunshiny day. I'll be going to a different fabric shop, Vogue! Haven't been there in years, so I'm kind of excited. I'm looking for a trim, not sure until I see it.
...Julia and I are happier with the new veil, especially the length. Now I'm trying to figure what to do with the barrette/hair piece!
...I went to work for a day of cleaning, lol so had to quick clean here yesterday.
whew, what a mess in the sunroom...Jacob and Emily have been keeping it toasty warm. ohhh, yeah, we got a mouse in the house!! It's so blatant and mighty fat, he's been terrorizing the cages for a while. Almost tempted to let the wild one in-NOT! Hope we caught it with the zapper
Thanks for the new thread, Betty.
You're trip sounds like fun! Are you going on your own? I've never been to St Augustine or Savannah, but the pictures I've seen of those places, just gorgeous, places I definitely hope to visit some day!
Next planned dog show is April 1 in Ohio, really looking forward to that. Will spend Tues through Fri in Ohio, the Afghan Hound World Congress is going on that week. Lots of seminars to go to, folks coming in from all over the world to give presentations. Show is the final day of the event.
Trying to save my money for that, and of course that's when things happen. Had to have a plumber come out and rod out the sewer line. My regular plumber was out of town, so had to take the first guy I could get that would come out same day, and he charged $240, my regular plumber only charges $100!. I need to get on a regular schedule for rodding, I guess.
Supposed to get up to 50 degrees today, and it's sunny for a change!
Deb
Thanks for the new room Betty. Looks like DG is back and running properly?
Not doing the jig yet, but slowly getting there.
Judy, I hope you catch that mouse, but you do know, they have lots of friends.
Finished all the blocks for the 8 Qovs I'm making. T- shirt quilt is with the long armer. Now I want to get these blocks into tops before we go on vacation towards the end of the month.
Susan arrives on Thursday - 4 more sleeps!!
I'm recovering, but Friday night I popped 2 ribs out - Chiropractor put them back in, on Saturday am. Chiropractor said they were "out by a country mile". Said also that desktop computers were made with Chiropractors in mind. Sitting with your arms extended or raised consistently is why Chiropractors are seeing more of this type of injury. He also said that people who have this pain in their left side are thinking that it's a stroke (false angina) and it panics them. This is how you should be sitting.
Couldn't find this thread until I went through a couple of older ones and followed the link to the next. Finally got here.
Hope you get that mouse, Judy. They always seem to have friends! I had a mouse problem until my son's cat, Dexter, came to stay with me. He'll catch one or two a year now, but that's it, before that, I felt like I was being over run for a while.
doesn't it figure - just as I'm recovering from the popped rib, I put them right back out again. Lower back, so I can breath this time........
Oh no, Susan, that's terrible. Is there something he can do to keep them in place while you heal? You need to be in good shape for when Susan comes!
Try taping them up Susan.
Taping is a good idea Lindakay...Susan you must wrap yourself up in bubble wrap or you will be in bed the entire time Susan is there.
Judy, you sure are having a time of it..glad the veil situation turned out for the best, now to catch that mouse...missy is a mouser, want me to send her to you?
Spring day out there, glad to see it freezes at night so that flooding unlikely..worried about wedn and Thursday as its in the 50's
Thanks for the new room Betty.
Beautiful outside today. I can see and hear the snowbanks melting away.
Dianne and her TH
Still very chilly here but supposed to hit high 50s on Wednesday. I must get out!!!!!
Hi...
well darn if I didn't catch something. I'm freezig, light head and so so chilled and not hungry
OMG caught 5of those psky rascals. Had no choice, zapped them, lol sure glad it was garbage day.
Worked all the weekend so today no energy, stayed snuggled the afternoon.
Hope everyone enjoys these nicer days!
I don't envy you with the mice Judy and I'm so sorry you are under the weather. Hope you get well soon and that the visitors are ALL gone.....
Morning everyone.
Judy, so sorry to hear your not feeling well! Get some rest.
Cat was hanging out at door to crawl space. Our crawl is deep, you can nearly stand up in it so we call it the stoop it. Any how hubby had stored bird seed on the landing so he didn't have to go out to garage is the bitter cold. Well after cat was spending so much time at the door, he set a trap. It was set off twice with no catch, finally third time was the charm. Mousie will probably be back as he used a live trap. He didn't want to kill if it was a chippie. Glad the door is a tight fit at the bottom.
back online, but weak as a kitten. This has played havoc with my desire to eat......
I did bind myself up one evening (Sunday) but it's not recommended overnight dur to swelling, etc. Ice on/off was the best - that, and painkillers and sitting as still as possible. Bob would help me up / down, and slept on the couch to be near me on the loveseat.
Resting as much as possible. Worn out from all this
Sending prayers for a speedy recovery Susan. Don't over do it when Susan arrives.
Has anyone seen "M" posting here?
Haven't Lindakay
How are you doing, getting better with each day I hope
What a gorgeous day we had today, oodles of puddles, snow melting quickly, think I will make some trenches away from the house in the morning as to avoid possible flooding.
mom is here for the week, was out today so she brought ribs for supper seeing I was out getting a perm so easy evening, tired but hate to go to bed early, she like company..maybe I will work on on her purse for a bit, might keep me awake
Every day is a bit better. The only thing I can't do is move my leg side to side while laying down. But we are working on it.
Tues, Mar 8 7:25 pm EST (Eastern Standard Time)
Go as slow as you need to LK. I am just so happy to not read about you being in a lot of pain anymore. Have you been able to try sewing yet?
This message was edited Mar 8, 2016 8:26 PM
LK - Susan says the same thing - don't overdo simply because she's here, that she's here to enjoy our company.
No sewing yet Barb. Maybe another week or so.
Tonight I ate - chicken/ pineapple rice. Bob was out shopping, and it got to where I was so hungry I couldn't wait, so I got the leftovers I couldn't eat on Saturday, and it went down niiiiii-ice.
This afternoon I was crying out for my bed, and finally Bob put some cardboard beneath the sheets and I slept on my back (I HATE sleeping on my back - would have preferred my side, but didn't want to mess my ribs up again). I slept......... fitfully...... but did manage to nap a bit.
Tonight I'm feeling much better - still feel a bit worn out but that's to be expected.
Good to hear you are on the mend.
I am so lost on this thread and where everyone is. I think I got caught up but not sure I am on right place as M and others missing.
I am so happy there is warm air and sunshine today....is almost 60 already at 10:30 a.m. Not heard of in March in NY.
LindaKay so happy you are improving, do not over do.
Susan, take it easy and rest as you can. My DD broke ribs in high school and
still has problems sometimes. Take it easy.
Waving and hugs to all
Debbie
Susan I so know how you feel. It is so painful when you crack or break a rib or two.....
You found us Debbie. I have to admit I got so frustrated with DG I just gave up.
Warmer today and the snow is melting rapidly. Now it is just a sea of mud out there in places.Sky is gray but I will take it.
LK I hope your recovery is going well. DO you find you are quite tired after a PT session.
Dianne
Jeeze .. I am here .. there.. and everywhere LoL
I made a new room, it didn't get posted, then it did, then I couldn't find it ..
Water under the bridge ..
LK .. I lasted 3 weeks sleeping on my back, I finally was desperate .. I slowly raised my right leg onto my left while I was laying on my side, it 'ouched' for a few minutes, then stopped .. slept well .. I eventually laid on my right side after the staples were out ..
You're doing very well .. :-)
TRENCHES .. we have them Betty .. we have had rain and wonderful temps .. the run off is getting ikky ..
Will you be travelling home from Florida with Darlene ?
I see Sue T is having a bad day .. Jessica's killer was let out of jail today :-(
What an awful feeling for her ..
Dianne .. if you're out in your vehicle, and you see a large billboard for ONA (Ontario Nurses Association) with a pretty blonde nurse with glasses on it, named LISA .. it's my bud who works at St Mary's of the Snows (I think that's the name of the hosp)
Well .. we fly out on Monday March 28 to Toronto .. surgery on Gordon's left eye will be Tuesday March 29th at 10am .. same hospital and hotel .. and, home on Friday April 1st
Prayers happily accepted !!
Has been a maze of appts and emails and phone calls the last few days .. and, more to come ..
I get my 'shot' tomorrow .. am praying the drug isn't becoming ineffective .. have had some 'issues', will talk with the arthritis nurse ..
Hey Barb and Sharon, Judy and Joyce and Deb and Debbie .. and all :-)
Take care
~M~
Glad to see you all posting.
I am finally sleeping on my side with the aide of a body pillow. It feels so good to get off my back. Yes, I get very tired after therapy, so I take a flexeril, and take a nap.
Sending lots of prayers your way "M" for Gord.
Wonderful to see you back "M". But so sorry to read you are headed to Toronto again so soon. Sending strong prayers for both you and Gord....
Well I am in the hospital facing spine surgery. I fell backwards again on Saturday evening. Dd a good job on my back when I hit a cabinet next to the cook top. Vern was there and said I got up off of a stool said something he dd not hear and fell backwards. Again, I do not remember falling. So chosen Neurosurgeon (by family) will be here tonight or tomorrow to consult and get surgery scheduled. I did not come to the hospital until Tuesday because I though the pain would diminish. All I can say right now. I will check in after visit from doctor. Vern has care givers and daughter is taking care of the animals.
Sorry to hear this Sharon, hope all goes well. I know you have a lot on your plate, but now you have to care for you.
Sorry to hear that Sharon. Sending prayers.
Susan posted this on FB. Please keep her in your prayers.
In hosp - 3 heart attacks since Friday, blood clots in lungs. complete bed rest
been here since this am - came by ambulance.
On oxygen
Oh Sharon I am so sorry to hear about your fall. Hopefully you will have your surgery soon. Sending positive thoughts and prayers.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers Susan.
Dianne
they told me, if I hadn't gotten treatment from paramedics right away, and Bob & I went by ourselves, I might not have made it - too much stress on my heart
going to do what dr said and rest
will post tomorrow
thank you LK
Prayers out for you Sharon. Is surgery a definite thing or an option? I would be afraid of surgery on my back. I'm sure Vern will be well taken care of. And the animals too.
As I have posted elsewhere - prayers for you too Susan.....
