Whoa.... Just what did I say Katie?
The only thing I said about Dave's post was just what he said....that ATP is a site for plants...I replied that since that was the case, I would stay in Cubits.
Best worse, what did I learn today, winter chat continues.
Whoa.... Just what did I say Katie?

I too keep forgetting to hit the send button after the preview message.
Well crud, I just posted that once.
This is all just getting too crazy.
Karen I think we are all experiencing weird and wonderful (not) things with this new format. I keep forgetting to press Post like LK. Fortunately we keep managing to find each other.
You all would have laughed at me trying to get across the ice in the driveway with a container of hot ashes.I wear huge oven mitts when I take the hot ashes out, had shorts on because the house was so warm, huge but trusty winter boots and of course a huge hat with ear flaps. Finally I just gave up and set it down. It slid a few feet then stopped. I managed to get a rock on its lid so it wouldn't fly off. Fire is my biggest fear living way back here.
Going to read for a bit.Started the new Allison Brennan novel this afternoon. I enjoy her work.
Dianne
I was on my phone in the car and it just makes it that much more difficult.
Gee the times someone needs to have a camera handy.
Morning ... and, ANOTHER PLUS 25F morning here.. should be MINUS 25 !
Karen is it abnormally mild over there ?
Out for lunch with my BFF today .. haven't touched base with Jo for months .. need some 'girl time'.
TV is working fine, BUT, I so wish there was an option to get rid of the commercials ! Guaranteed if I'm going to 'nod off' it's during the commercials ..
Trying to get ready to go east .. just don't seem to have a big enough fire under my butt yet .. prefer not to think about it ..
Hope everyone has a great day .. Debbie, hoe are you doing?
Karen, has the crud gotcha?
LK, hope your hip is not too bad ..
Katie .. how's your pneumonia?
OK .. Dianne and I are likely doing the same thing right now, dealing with the herds ..
TOODLES
~M~
Enjoy your lunch today.
Dianne, you need to be careful with those ash pots. You need to get a metal barrel and put it close to your door, so you don't have to go out like that.
Good Morning and hello!
OMG, Yesterday our James, was in a terrible accident. I went to go pick him up from the site. of course dyslexia struck and I had to figure out where to find him.
Thank God I had cell with me and I used the navigate, feature, found him in a short time. He was of course distraught. I gave him a tight armwrap took him home, offered to stay while he ate then take him to the hospital. He called another friend who said he'd take him, so I was good to just drop him at home. His first accident, thank God everyone walked away. He thought he killed the girl, she's young...I felt so bad for him. He himself has whiplash and is very bruised. He was not at fault, didn't get a ticket. Lost his truck (its totaled) won't be able to work. I just feel aweful for him, poor guy is just trying to stay afloat.
So I am pretty happy to have that navigation thingy on the cell phone, wow and so Precise, lol it told me I was at the post office and how to get out of the p lot!
So I guess there is some really good feature with technology...
M and everyone, We have to have our kids friends help us figure some of this tech stuff! Hope it all gets sorted out.
So smiling Dianne, Glad the you and the Herd are enjoying those ropes!
lol, yep should have a camera in the tress to follow the funny, but with your description got a good picture in my head, so had to chuckle...Oh yay hope those socks keep you nice a toasty warm. Awe, I love yours and Warrens friends are coming to visit, haha on boys and their toys!
Barbara, I am so glad your making yourself a quilt!! Do enjoy the sewing time.
I'll have to go back and peek at the sites you posted.
I don't know, im trying to remember all that I read...starting to loose it here and if it keeps up im going to have to resort to the keeping a, a List? good heavens...lists drive me crazy!
Oh!! Remember a long, long time ago I asked how people kept whites so white?
Karen suggested dishwashing liquid. Well I'm back to washing whites, this time for the girls. Well, I've been running a laundry service, lol Julia wears chef whites that I look at like omg, how am I going to get those clean...Pop karens suggestion entered my head, gave it a whirl and oh my delighted gosh, a large bottle now sits on this "Queen" of laundry's shelf!! Thank you!
Oh Debbie, maybe it's time for a new doc. My goodness, I hope you find out what it is and get the proper meds..Drives me nuts with all the running around. Wish things were back to one doc! Even everyone who Specializes in one thing has to go through all the medical training. I don't know the medical field has gone insane. (just my opinion) But I do wish you get the help you need before it esculates.
Yes, Wedding Bells everywhere. I hope Thunder's goes off wonderful, same with Mary's...
Still haven't found my glasses. I have an appointment end of the month.
On goes the cleaning, de cluttering and all the hoopla that forever keeps me insane, I mean busy...
Enjoy the day
Winks and armwraps to all
I hope you find your glasses soon Judy. I can't see 2 feet in front of me with out my glasses.
Sorry to hear James was in an accident, and I pray injuries to all are minimal! Did who ever hit him have insurance?
Thanks Linda kay, problem is I have a habit of tucking things out of the way, you know so Pegasus and Flo don't chew, well this time I tucked em way somewhere.
lol, decided there right here somewhere in front of my face, so giving up the search and they pop up.
As for James, yes she has insurance, not sure what kind cause they couldn't get it from the glove compt. and luckily he does too, just hope it all works out.
Judy so glad the cleaning tip worked for you. It's not new, I was told this by a nurse when mine were small. You remember how baby yuck messed up onesies and undershirts? Nurse told me this was how they kept their uniforms white...yeah that long ago.
Speaking of long ago, my baby turned 50 on Tuesday. Took great delight in telling him now he could join AARP and get senior discounts.
I did get the yuck, I was so smug and over confident as everyone else was getting it and I wasn't....well caught up with me just before we headed home. Not a fun trip.
I hope you are feeling better soon Karen.
So sorry to hear about James' accident, Judy. Glad no one was hurt bad, though whiplash can be pretty bad, too.
Prayers for everyone not feeling well.
Taking the pups to play dog show on Saturday. There's an AKC match not too far, this will be the first time out in a long time. It's just for practice, wins there don't count for anything. I hope they haven't forgotten what they've learned!
One of my grandson's was also in a serious accident yesterday in the wee hours. He fell asleep, went off the road and hit a tree. All airbags deployed and I'm sure that's what saved him as car was totally destroyed. He was extremely lucky, ER gave him a complete check over and aside fro ma few bruises, all is fine. I told his mom to give him a hug for me and then kick his butt. I hope he takes this as a cosmic two by four for the hours he keeps.
Glad to hear your GS is OK. Scary, just the thought of it!
Today is my son's 31st birthday. Probably won't be able to get together to celebrate until the weekend. Don't understand how these kids can get so old so fast! Surely we're not aging that quickly!!
Karen, I am glad to hear he is OK.
Happy Birthday to your son. I agree, they grow too fast.
I gotta tell ya .. this format is not for folk who are in a hurry !
I can almost swear that my morning post did not have Dianne's above me re the classical ash dance ballet !! . I would have commented on that scenario LoL
Just glad you stayed UPRIGHT ! ..
Gosh amighty ..2 car wrecks .. am so thankful only metal and rubber were damaged .. scary stuff that ..
Lunch with Jo was , as always, amazing .. so much to talk about .. many good memories shared ..
She asked re Betty ..over the years I have shared crafts with Jo that Betty was doing .. at one point last year she was considering doing (trying) to do a quilt for her granddaughter ..
Jo was quite shocked to learn Betty had left .. I explained the circumstances .. well .. sorta ..
Judy .. bless your heart re that cleaning and de cluttering .. it is SO needed here .. I simply do not know where to start .. I join a group online, after 2 logins, they want $$ :-(
Hope your son has a great BDay .. Deb .. when my DS turned 30 I felt incredibly old ..LoL you don't wanna knowhow old he is now LoL
HUGS all around
~M~
Lookup ..look waaaaay up .. Karen's post came through about 6 times !!
I am kinda nervous here ..think I'll just say nighty night
~M~
"M" don't know how that happened except I was in the car on my phone and so upset by the whole thing, I must have just kept punching it.
Hard to say .. electronics and techno babble are NOT my forte these days ..
AND, I must be addle brained because I can't recall you having written a post like that mentioned ..
Both you and I have 'gone over' to ATP .. it's nice, lots of old friends .. but, it's just not this little thread .. we basically know all about one another ..
I started a Forum over at ATP about the weather .. kinda generalized, but, somethingI like to talk about .. I lurk in a few other ones, but, as ODD as some of the ATP folks think, THIS is my cyber home .. has been for over 8 years .. no way could I just drop friendships ..
Anyway .. I just came in from out .. it is 33F !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About 2" of wet heavy snow has fallen .. I shovelled the patio and walkways .. if this crap freezes, we ae in trouble !!!
BBL
~M~
All I said and still say is I wasn't comfortable at ATP. She set up a quilting site in my name hoping I would jump right in there. I did look at the site and it's nice talented people but not my people. In the Mutiny site all they do is bash DG, saying how dumb we are for staying here. I said one time there that was hurtful and was basically told if I didn't like it to leave...so I did. So here I stay and hope others will drift back, if they don't I will miss them.
Morning everyone!
41 right now, but supposed to reach 70 this afternoon. I started cutting back my roses yesterday, I got about half done, and had to quit. I will get them done today!
need to cut mine back too. rain and fog here today, so dreary
Good Morning
Karen, Happy Birthday to your DS awe the baby in your family, had to giggle on AARP comment. Oh I'm sorry about your dgs accident too. OMG terrifying to know they fell asleep at the wheel. Thank God all are ok.
Dianne, meant to say yes please be careful with ash bucket, although I'm sure you are, I too am terrified of fire.
Barbara, How is your quilt coming along?
Oh M, so glad you had a girl day with Jo.
Deb, I hope your Son had a nice b-day yesterday...oh how fun your going to a local competition, best of luck and you know if anything it's great practice. Where and when is, you can dmail or txt, lol. never know I just might be able to pop over and cheer you on.
Oh man I gotta go for a minute, brb
I had to scroll up and see about the trials Deb, I missed it. Sending good wishes your way. I bet it is a fun day watching the pups.
Morning everyone. Been up for hours.
The ice remains a huge factor in my daily life. The pups are very limited in where they can go outside. Even the lane remains a challenge. I just took a spill landing flat on my back trying to get Duke who was caught up in some brush. Only thing hurt was my dignity but reaffirmed my better sense of not letting the pups out of the carport or off the deck. More clean up for me but it is worth it just to have us all safe. I now do carry my cell with me every time I go outside.
Thanks for your suggestion about the ash barrel LK but our Fire Department, my Insurance Co., and myself would beg to differ. They nor I want hot ashes even if covered near the house. We also use the ashes to put on slippery hills on the lane.
Have fun at the trials Deb ! How many dogs are you taking?
I am with M about all these electronics and the techno babble. I just cross my fingers and my eyes when something goes fooey on the computer and hope I can correct it myself.
Karen don't fret ..... we all so enjoy your presence here. The love and misadventures in your close family makes we wish I had a family too.SInce I don't I enjoy reading about yours.
Debbie I saw you potato soup pic on FB. It looks Yummy.
M just a word of warning if you take a cab/taxi while in TO. Cash would be better. Some rogue taxi drivers are skimming debit cards when you give it to them to pay. The customers end up having the bank accounts emptied. If you do use a debit card check your receipt and your card. The drivers are handing back the receipt covering up the name on the debit card. SO check your card when you get it back if you do use it to make sure your name is on it.
Think I might make some chili today or tomorrow. I gasped when I bought a package of lean hamburg yesterday. I miss having our own meat - especially chicken, beef and pork. LOL Don't miss all the work involved though. If I could have kept up on a small scale .I thought about having some chickens down here but keeping the fox, coyotes, fishers and whatever else of wildebeasts turn up out is next to impossible.
Jean where are you? Hope things are well with you.
Time to shower and check for bruises...lol
Dianne
It's a AKC match, like a dog show, but younger puppies can be entered, no professionals, no champions or dogs close to their championships, and wins don't count for anything. It will be at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, IL, Judy. Judging starts at 9am, so we'll have to be there at least an hour before. If we win, it may be a long day, if not, we'll be on the way home by 9:30!! It's good practice anyway, and there is a big weekend of 'real' shows coming up, so depending on how the match goes, I will decide about entering those. My problem is going to be keeping them clean and dry between this evening when I groom, and tomorrow morning. With all the drizzle, and rain predicted for later, and melting ice and mud that this is creating, not sure how good they'll look by tomorrow morning!
Deb
Ouch! Sorry to hear you slipped and fell Dianne. Do you have salt or sand to sprinkle?
Good luck at the dog show, as well as trying to keep them clean.
ATP was set up as a companion place to Cubits. As a rule it is generally for plants. But there are a couple of forums/threads which are chat ones. This is where we were directed to go early on with this change here. We all should take the confusion with a grain of salt. Katie, please don't leave over something so little as which site to be on.
I have gone to ATP also and feel more comfortable at Cubits. It is just a personal choice and not a put down to anyone else in any way.... Hope you reconsider.
I am not leaving over which site to be on. I've not said I'm leaving. Karen said I said I'm leaving then had a fit when I said I hadn't said that. I'm just sick of the whole thing. katie
Well .. I'm not getting involved in a 'he said, she said' disagreement .. makes absolutely NO sense to me at all ..
AWESOME day here .. 35F .. light snow, and, the threat of plummeting temps .. which .. would make roads and streets skating rinks !!!
I go out to shovel, and that's bout it ..
Dianne, so sorry to hear ya fell .. hope no lasting bruises or bumps ..
We will use cash with the taxis .. kinda nervous re debit cards
Should go out and check on Lorna, she's ploughing the driveways ..
~M~
What I said in the post that has Katie in such a snit, was said in sadness that we were losing another friend. I guess I was wrong on all counts.
Maybe Betty had the right idea.
This was my vicious post about Katie...and my last word on the subject. So sorry .
I keep hoping she'll miss us enough to come back.
Sadly I think we've lost Katie, says she'll never come back here, having some big health issues.
This was post # 10187007
I understand Karen .. interpretation is so dicey with the written word .. it's not like when we write to family onlne and they actually KNOW and are used to our nuances etc.
I Love ya :-)
Sitting here trying to get a list together for packing .. makes me nuts .. most important (after meds) is make up and hair stuff .. passports too .. will it, or, won't it snow ..
Will be a bit happier this time next week as the plane will be landing, and we will be home !!
HUGS
~M~
I made a post. It is not here. No big deal - just ask Karen what I said. you aren't listening to me anyway, k.
M have you seen the Ovarian Cancer Society's public announcement on TV? I love the idea of 'lady balls' although some are offended by it. This public awareness announcement has a female coach giving her female sports team a good talking to. It ends with the coach saying 'now let's take our lady balls and get out there to win'. I have paraphrased it - will look to see if I can find a link so you all can see it.
M just make sure you have your meds, good walking shoes, necessary paper work and the rest you can buy or go without.
Feels like it is warming up. A gal can hope can't she?
Hope Sharon's sleep angel finds us all
Dianne
Safe travels "M" you will be missed. If you have a chance, keep us posted while you are gone.
Well I am sending you guys more sleep angels just in case you need more. Dianne, I use a generic ambien 5mg. I cannot sleep without it. I cannot turn my mind off. And I have tried many times. They started me on 10mg and I laid in bed and watched my bedroom drapes turn into Victorian people and come over to the bed and sit. And I was half drugged the majority of the day. I continue to get the 10 mg and then cut them in half. I am no longer having Victorian friends visiting me while I drift off to sleep and I wake at 7am in the morning. And when I wake up I am bright eyed and bushy tailed.
I can still hear everything Vern does during the night.
Marilyn, have a wonderful successful trip and great success on the procedure.
Karen, I was lurking while you were on ATP and I agree. They kinda slapped you around and you were very nice. All you said was "Goodbye". I would have said more.
I like that we can talk about anything we want. All we need to do is convince Betty to return.
Vern's red cell blood cont is going down, very slowly. So now we are going to a gastric doctor to check that out.
And Marilyn you will love this, my step daughter from hell is coming to visit on Jan. 20th.
Deb, have fun with the puppies. That is a lot of work.
Katie, everyone enjoys your visits and feedback. Lighten up friend. You know everyone on here has your back.
We have had freezing temps and rain. Very unusual for our area. Look like our freezing temps are gone for the year. Our winter has not been to bad. Cold, but not much wind. I can take the cold as long as it is not windy. But you guys must remember, 40 degrees is cold o us. And I am usually not outside after dark except to walk the doggies into the back yard to go potty before I set the alarm and go to bed.
We have no appointments next week. That is like winning the lottery. I do not think I will win the lottery because I have not brought a ticket.
It is time for me to get the kitchen cleaned up, the dishwasher started, the cat litter box cleaned, bed turned down, take dogs outside to go potty, get Vern his pills get Vern into bed and then hit the bed. Same routine every night but I do it like walking in my sleep. Last thing I do before going into the bedroom, is turn off the TV. I try to do it on the hour, not to interrupt Vern's TV. And I plug his TV listening ears to be charged.
When I saw this on Facebook, I thought of you guys. have a great Saturday.
