I can't believe how the time is just flying past. Only a week until Christmas, and haven't even had time to just sit back and enjoy the decorations! Still shopping to finish up. Hopefully I can get it done this weekend, but I'm sure all the stores are just going to be packed with shoppers! I'm taking Tues and Weds off work next week for last minute stuff and get things wrapped.
If I can get the project completed today that I'm working on, I may take Monday off, too. My boss wants me to build up a couple circuit boards so he can program and test them while I'm off. Otherwise, I won't be back until the Tues after Christmas, and he doesn't want to wait that long.
Taking Klaus in for grooming today. I usually do it myself, but I've gotten so behind on things, and he's the worst, so I decided it was worth it to pay to get him done. I just don't have the 3-4 hours he's going to take. He's sitting in the car now, while I'm at work. I'll take a quick break and run him to the groomer's when she opens.
Have a great day ladies!!

Deb

Good Morning,

Well it took most of my day, but got all the cards done...going to wrap few presseis and get those meatballs made.
Oh and DH said to go get a manicure, very exciting.

Thanks Linda Kay, We had a long talk about the situation and I do feel better.
Oh..Very cool, got a call from my Cousin Marie, what a great chat it was right on time too. If she knows anything of the situation she didn't say and I am proud to say I didn't cry about it to her either.

Oh M, I hope your feeling much better today. Geesh, sorry to hear about the modem, so glad Lorna got you going with wireless.

Deb, Your right time is just zooming by. Well you will have a nice break, hope you get the boards done quickly.

Have fun shopping everyone, speaking of which I have to run a few errands before I hit the post office.

What are you up to today Linda Kay, You feeling alright?

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am doing OK, just this cold weather slows these old bones down to a crawl.

"M", Maybe you need to put a new modem on Santa's wish list. Sorry to hear your injections affect you so much. I hope you are doing better soon.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

HOLA :-)
It's the SPANISH ~M~ .. not LoL ..

WELL .. Lorna and I went SHOPPING again .. after 2 stores, I said, HOME !!! It was flippin crazy out there .. the roads were icy and slick, the parking lots no better .. and .. get this I drew a BLANK on what I was in town to get !! Bought stuff at random, kinda neat stuff .. one store had a mini first aid kit on sale .. I bought one for both L and G .. they can put them in their trucks ..

LK .. my service provider for the internet and our cells and landlines GAVE us the wireless equipment .. along the way it's been paid for .. our service provider is expensive ... but, one of the techs spent an hour on the phone with L and myself while we installed it .. will never forget his name .. KYLE .. like Betty's DGS ..
As for the injection .. I feel a bit better .. not 100%, maybe 75%.

Judy, YAY re the cards and the phone chat :-)

Deb .. let the experts handle the doggie .. you'll love it :-)

Barb, hope you got your stocking stuffers

Goes without saying, I miss Betty .. very sad loss ..

Have I showered " NO
Woodstove is de ashed .. fresh fire started .. Dianne knows that routine .. sheesh .. DH hasn't wanted to bother me with that chore I guess .. pulling the lever out to open the hole for the ash to fall into the ash bin is kinda rough ..

Good Morning!

whew, that was a busy day. finished more cards, wrapped items for nieces and nephews and others. I am really happy to say it feels good to send things off I have been meaning to do for a long time. OMG, the machines were down at P.O. so had to wait in line for 45 min. got home to make 4lbs of meatballs. They turned out tasty! got a call from Steve he was going to be late. My SIL called him, frantically. Some 2 floors above her was having some leak and no one was home. She had water flowing into her unit. So DH got there and turned of the water to the building, no choice. What a mess, now she is not going to the gathering today. DH making a fuss about having to get his mom. I'll go get her and but Jacob will have to drive her back. Relax, it will all work out...I am excited because I will get a wedding picture from Heather, woohoo!

Ooh baby it's cold out there!
Well I better get some coffee, sure do miss Betty's morning posts.
Everyone have a great day.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning all. Don't know what is happening here as I can't find any of our past threads. But the fact that I went directly here is a good thing!!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Mornin .. although that was hours ago .. I am still not feeling all that well, still .. inch by inch ..
Zoey got up on the bed last night at 2am .. she eventually stretched out and pushed ME out of the bed ..so .. up I got and was playing Solitaire and then Scrabble, and, at 5am I went back to bed and took my rightful place as THE MOMMA !!

Judy, I agree ... we all miss Betty, and, I find it hard to understand why she up and left .. yes there were changes, but, we're all struggling along .. I felt that my attachment to the group was worth keeping ..
Hope your gathering is wonderful and that your SL doesn't have much damage.

Laundry day .. have 1 in and one in the dryer, and, I am going to make a coffee .. not sure what else ..

Have a good one .. COLD here and, more snow predicted ..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

"M" you might have to install the link on your tablets.

Shopping is all done, took me two days but I was able to do it.

Big News...Got a call from grandson Will, he and DW are expecting! Little one is due in June. Wearing a perma grin.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Just a wee bit of snow but low 20s and high winds.
Our squirrels are very nervy too. I can rap on the window and they just ignore me, they don't move until I open the outer door.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congrats Karen. Everyone must be happy.

Marietta, OH(Zone 6a)

another little one!! Congrats to everyone, wonderful news for Christmas! Busy today on towels, decided to get the supersize bath sheets and they are proving to be a little unwieldy. Got to balance out the bulk or it throws the hoop off. If you think un-sewing on cotton is bad, try it on plush towels! The stabilizers help hold the stitches away from the loops a little, but still tricky to keep from pulling the loops.
Oh well, the ones I mess up too badly will just have to stay here... lol
Our little snowstorm last night gave us about 2". Right after it started falling, police and EMS were whizzing past the house in all directions. Then they started closing some of the hilly streets and a couple bridges due to ice. The wind made black ice really fast and people weren't expecting it at rush hour. Quiet most of the morning but very breezy and chilly at 34. But hey... by Thursday it will be upper 60s then drop 30+ degrees on Friday night!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Congrats Karen. I baby is always such welcome news!! Is this a first for them? So exciting!!

The grooming wasn't as expensive as I had anticipated, but, I believe it's because these two women that run the shop have only been open a short time, and are still learning about the business end of it. It was $80 for Klaus, and I gave them a $20 tip, which was probably high, but, if I had taken him to the place I had before (where they both worked before opening the shop) I would have probably been charged double that. I made an appointment for Bonnie on Tuesday. I thought they'd be busy because of Christmas, but Monday was the only day they had booked. They did a good job, and it was a positive experience for him. I hope their business grows, so they'll be around for a while. I won't do this regularly, can't afford it, but they do know how to do the trimming for shows, that I'm not the best at doing myself, so I hope they stay around!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Spent today trying to finish up shopping, I got some done, but still need little stuff. Haven't even started wrapping. I should spend tomorrow wrapping and organizing things to make sure I've got everyone covered. I'm exhausted!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes this is their first, they have been trying a while. Number 16 great for me. I think I have a quilt pattern picked out.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Been bopping around today. Took the oldest 2 grandsons shopping for their Christmas. It has been a running joke for the past few years. They get socks, boxers and tee shirts wrapped under the tree and I take them shopping for their special gift. We had fun and oldest grandson brought his girlfriend so she would not wind up with sock and undies under the tree...socks and nail polish set for under the tree.

Hope you all have a sweet evening...busy day with MIL tomorrow. She will be settling back into the nursing home from this last trip to the hospital. We are going to have Hospice work with her to keep her from being drug back and forth every time she starts developing congestion.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for your MIL Jean.

Karen, that makes it even more special, since it is their first one!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Morning ..

Busy lil ladies on here .. tis the season..

Off to get gas this morning and drop into one of the local grocery stores that has Prime Rib roasts on sale .. DH bought one yesterday for supper tonight, and, I noticed the price on the package was relatively 'UN HEART' stopping ..
Still looking for a blade or chuck roast to do 'the recipe', if you can believe it, the Prime Ribs on sale are less than the blades or chucks are regularly !!

Wrapping! I have bags stashed in almost every closet .. maybe that should be my task this afternoon .. wrapping ..

Kizmo, I can't imagine how difficult that towel job would be ! My hands wouldn't handle it well ..
Hope your snow n ice are tamed down ..

Take care everyone ...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

"M", I have a medical question. Over the past month, I have had maybe 3 nights where I lay down to sleep, and my heart starts racing, it usually slows down after about an hour, but last night it kept me awake till 3 this morning. Could my cholesterol meds or vicodin cause this?

Glad to hear you got your roast on sale.

Guess I've missed a lot!

Looks like the thread has changed a little. Has everyone survived it? What's this??? Betty is missing? Now that just won't do!

Had our Christmas with DH family today. It was brunch...ugh...I ate too much! I took bacon quiche, hot sausage balls and pecan pie. We had so much food! We could have fed a hundred people!

It won't be long now ladies....on the countdown to Christmas Day!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Hiya ..
Statins (cholesterol drugs) sometimes cause tachycardia (racing heart)
Not often Vicodin .. it usually causes a bit of a slow heart rate.
Might want to mention it to your doc.

Made into and outta town, still no body pillow, hope to find one next week .. if I don't, oh well ..

Just put sugar cookie dough in the fridge to set .. anyone have an opinion on whether to leave it overnight, or, just for the hour or so stated in the recipe .. I'm beat and would rather roll'em out and cut the cookies tomorrow ..

Nothing exciting happening here .. Lorna's Dad fell out of bed last night, had the nursing staff scurrying .. he now has a black eye ..

Hope y'all are doin OK.. must get over to ATP and say hiya ..

Thanks for the info "M". I will let the Dr. know.

Hey Joyce. How many were at your brunch?

Sorry to hear about Lorna's Dad. Is he in a nursing home, hospital?

Lyndonville, NY

Popping in for hello. Gave in and put up a little 3 foot artificial tree.
Not the same, but with "construction zone" in living room and lower house,
i just couldn't do the big one.

Had snow yesterday, but they say 50's the rest of the week. I am OK with that.

Congrats on the new baby on the way!!! So exciting.

I might get to START shopping tomorrow. Will need miss clairol by time it is over.

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Get up and hit the store early. They will be packed I am sure as the days goes on.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Making a spice cake, waiting for things to cool before I mix in flour and put in the oven.
Been a long day. I still don't think I'm done with shopping, but I'm beginning to lose track of what I've got and what I still need. Didn't get things sorted and get wrapping started like I planned. Maybe after work tomorrow I can get to that. Didn't finish my project on Friday so need to go in tomorrow, hopefully I can sneak out early! Really wish I hadn't started this cake, but I did want something to bring in to work.
M, I would think you could leave the cookie dough in the fridge overnight. At most you might need to let it sit out and warm up a little before you start rolling it out.

Deb

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

24 at the brunch! I'm expecting 18 on Christmas. 2 six pound briskets and a honey baked ham should feed us!
