And besides - with getting no rent from them for Feb, it's going to be tight here. We have to pay the pad rent for the mobile, rent here, and storage locker as well.
Their rent is same as ours - $900 / month, and we were still "out" by the other costs. Lots of tube steaks here lol and we're happy that we got the Santa's Choice Christmas hamper - we have a lot of non-perishables so we don't have to buy those groceries (most of them, anyway, but a lot is Christmas celebration stuff, too - like boxes of chocolates, and cake mixes, but still some pantry goods too).

I can share some recipes for tube steaks..

tube steak fried rice...

We did get some rain last night, didn't wake me up but a lot of rain had to fall by the evidence this morning. Gloomy out there so we may get more which we need.

I realized that there is a plus side to this...... (I would rather think positively)...
We'd offered them (Dec 21st) to have 1 mo free rent, and all their Damage Deposit back ($1800). The HO gave them $1100 - 1 1/3 mo free. The disappointing part is that we won't get into our home until 4 1/2 months from judgement. I would rather have paid a bit more, and gotten our home. I don't think that our tenants realized this - they think they've won against us, so I'm letting them think what they want. If it gets them off our backs and they leave us alone, it's good. When they're out, we're getting a restraining order against them.......

I think that is a good idea getting a restraining order Susan.

They apparently Won't leave us alone - they came tonight, knocking on first our landlords' door upstairs, then on ours, then back to our landlords'. They had our landlords call us to tell us they want to deliver a letter to us (WHAT???? hell no.......) and if we won't accept it, they'll call the police to help them deliver it. Our landlords are nice, but they are scared to be seen to have the police around.... This could cause us serious problems........
Anyway, after knocking on our door, and phoning us (we don't answer), they finally taped the papers to our door - DAMN, but if it wasn't the exact same papers we got from the RTDR hearing office...... so, they're trying to duplicate what's already been done, as proof that they don't have to pay rent for Feb (rubbing our nose in it, or don't think that RTDRS did their job well enough? I don't CARE - I just want them to leave us alone....... and our landlords too.....

Call the police, and tell them they are harassing you.

Mann, those people are a nightmare!!
Maybe you need to get restraining order now

Jaye, been watching How Things are Made lately...lol they just had a show on Tube steaks!! uh very interesting.

worst thing is, our landlords are upset about police coming by - they're not sure that their neighbours won't start associating them with the police and getting them a reputation they don't want.... .....

hooray - just got a call from the surgeon's office - I have an app't on Wed March 16th at 1:30 to have him look at my knees!! Yesterday they said it may still be another 5 months or more to see him!!
I saw this same Dr in 2013, so they're saying it's more like a repeat, than me as a new patient :-)

I went with my friend to her quilting day at her church. There were about 7 women there, some cutting out squares, some pinning batting to sheet that will be the back of quilt and one gal was sewing the squares together. We took floss and in the middle of each block we made a knot to help hold the batting in place. We did 3 quilts today, so easy and then were put in a cupboard with other finished ones. Last Oct. they sent 12 quilts to Iraq for our troops who need them. I enjoyed spending my time doing this then we had coffee or tea and a little snack. Such nice women too, I think I will go back. When we got home we ended up taking the dogs for their walk. Sore back, but enjoyable time. I feel good about donating my time for this good cause.

Pegi - lovely of you to give your time to this worthwhile charity. You and the other ladies are to be commended. I'm sure the troops are happy to get comfort from home.

Going to be another nice day, won't get anything done unless I lock my office door. The computer seems to call me a lot during the day.

I do plan on going back to the quilting ladies. They made me feel so much at home and all said they hope I come back. My friend said the quilts will go to where they are needed, last batch did go to the troops and I hope this new batch will go to them too.

My son has his girlfriend here while her condo is being painted. Said it was for a couple days, but almost a week already and I'm not too thrilled about it. I want my house back to myself, just got used to being alone most of the day with my dog. They said they don't work on Sunday because of the football game, but to me that is no excuse. I have her cat here too, but that isn't a problem to me and my dog thinks it is a playmate for her. I should really be upset with my son as he didn't even consider asking if it was OK. So much like his father.

Sorry to hear you have unexpected company Pegi. I think I would have a sit down chat with him, and let him know.

I would too Pegi but then he is the one you depend on and if you don't usually talk about things, he may feel it is against him and not the situation. Just be careful how you say things.....

Pegi - that's a tough call - don't say anything and he'll feel he can do this again, say something and he may feel that you're picking on him....... you know your son best. Does his girlfriend know that he never consulted you? If you can befriend her and have a "girl chat"ask her...
Another thought is that when she is out (painting can't take forever!), chat with him and tell him that next time something involves you and your stuff (not just your home), he needs to consult WITH you, and not "assume".for you.

Things are a little better here, but will be glad when she can go back to her condo. It will be like a new place for her, freshly painted rooms and some new furniture. Will have a talk later with my son about asking me before he make any more plans like this one. I think her sister & brother-in-law are looking out for her, but controlling what she does at the same time.

So hot today, in the high 80's and I think we are skipping spring and going right into summer. I'm planning on a hair cut & perm this week so maybe that will lift me up.

New hair cuts can always make one feel better.

Morning everyone. 46 right now, will be cloudy and cool today with temps of 65, but is supposed to be in the 80's this week end.

Well,, I went to the family physician for my pre op, and she told me I need to see a cardiologist, and that may not happen for another 2 weeks, which means my surgery will have to be re scheduled. I told her that this should have been scheduled before hand, and I was not happy. She just shrugged he shoulders.
Not a happy camper right now!

Temps in the 90's and not too happy about it. Don't know what happened to our winter, we only had a few days and not much rain. Had to turn on the ceiling fan in my bedroom during the night as I was so hot.

Will be going to work on the quilts tomorrow, will go with a new hair cut and perm, probably won't recognize me. Not really curly this time, kind of fluffy and I like it better. Hope it lasts for a very long time.
