Or maybe shopping while Gord sips with his cronies....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Marilynne - and all my "group hugg-ers". I guess I'm just feeling a bit sensitive and defensive, but I know this is a "safe to say" group, and no one hurts people here, so I really do "feel the love".
It hasn't been the nicest day I've had in awhile.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all,

Mom came to visit for a few days, I was leaving for Barrie just as she came in so I got her organized, she is doing cross stitch on the king size quilt too she had given me, started to organize and there she had two quilts done in same color so guess when done I will quilt and give one to Greg and one to Jeff

Anyway, my plans to shop til I dropped and finish Xmas shopping changed..Melanie came with me and we got the essentials done, sure doesn't take long for the ca ching, ca ching..

Got jeff's knife, so laughed, I thought he wanted a knife for bear protection when camping, here it was a knife designed and made by Bear Gryphon the outdoorsman...picked up some wool socks want for -40

Then Greg is making a stainless steel wood pizza unit..he is all enthused, has the pizza stone in order, unit for the zinc to wash his hands..said he would have to find out the how to' sand recipes..omg had to mortgage the house to buy it,never ever spent that much..paid for it,they are ordering it with a guarantee that when I pick it up if it isn't exactly what I want..she said for me to go leaf through it before I took it home, here is hoping it's what I think it is.

Bought an porcelain faced elf for Rita, a tool for me as well as a wall mount for the TV and that is all

So tired out, just had my bath, mom is a nighthawk, that's ok I m going to bed

Here is photo's of Greg's piazza oven that burns wood and will have a stone top

Marilynne, do you mean Ripleys Aquarium in Gatlinburg? We've been there a few times, it's very nice, a lot of walking, but much to see.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

wow - that's some pizza oven!! I presume the pizzas he's making will be for big parties!! Is he a pizza aficionado? I'd like to see it when it's done :-)

Bob & I just got home from the Church Craft night - they have it every month (4th Friday) except Dec. He & I each brought our knitting. He's working on a baby blanket for his grandson, and I'm re-knitting a scarf that I made too short & too wide lol Now it will be the right width & I can have it double the length so I can wrap it around my neck :-) It was a nice evening.

Victoria Harbour, ON

"m" great reviews from those who have been to the nee Toronto facility..wear good walking shoes..

Barb know you are smiling as Liz knows how to pack a Santa Warren box..can't wait to oh and ah..must go mark your name as being received.

Susan, glad you got out and enjoyed yourselves.

Karen, are you still south?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

The Ripleys I am speaking of is in Toronto.
DH and I are flying to Toronto the day before his surgery, and, will have the afternoon to kill .. and the Aquarium has been advertised so much I thought we might go ..
Because airlines are so dang strict with luggage right now .. I will be bringing ONE pair of Crocs and that is it .. otherwise (before) I didn't think twice about packing 2-3 pair of shoes .. but, now that 'checked baggage' COSTS you ( $30./bag) .. I'll wear my new furry Crocs and call'er good. Of course I'll pack clothes in the carry on baggage , but ,, not many .. we'll not be 'FASHIONISTAS " :-)

Betty, have fun with Mom .. how is she doing with Muriel?
The pizza oven is lovely .. hope it gets lots of use ..

My Santa Warren parcel is creeping closer .. have to look up the exact place, the name of the city it's in right now is not familiar to me .. still a ways to go :-)

Best get ready to hit the road with hubby ..

Betty, that looks like a nice pizza oven! What were you doing up at 12:30? Keeping your Mom company?

Susan. sounds like you had a good time at the church!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Enjoy your outing "M"

High of 30 today, rain not in forecast but who knows

Mom and aunt Muriel still not talking, both stubborn

Best you bring boots though just in case

Goal today is put a few Xmas sock kits together and clean craft room

Hoping Greg will come today or tomorrow, need closet door replaced in basement entry, TV put on the wall and an outdoor light installed outside

There goes a few hours of his weekend. Lol. IF he comes, he is just getting over cold/flu so it's a maybe

Been laying here an hour, mom went to bed at 12:43 so I will try to tip toe and go downstairs until she gets up

Victoria Harbour, ON

I woke when she was going to bed then took a bit to fall asleep

How are you this morning, plans for the day?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thank you all so much for your prayers. I'm going to see Larry this morning and hope to have a better sense of just what is going on. He also has an aneurysm on the aorta. If you remember, he had one operated on several years ago and now has another. According to the scan it has not grown at all in over a year so they are concentrating on the lungs and prostate for now. I know you all will help me keep a smile on my face and no tears as that would not do him any good at all......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not much going on here. We hope to get some grocery shopping done. We are hoping the crowds will not be so bad today!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Likely they won't be Lindakay! Good luck in finding what you want..

May your visit with Larry be a good one barb, tell him there are miracles and ones coming his way!

Mom is cross stitching, I'm flitting from upstairs/downstairs..have a list of to do' that should take entire weekend

Make 2.xmas hanging baskets

Make a Xmas sock for display

8 Xmas stocking kits ( cut blocks to size yesterday)

Take pump out of 2 ponds, started but forgot to finish

Wrap at least 10 gifts

Now let's see what I do get done

Took 2 turkey dinners out of freezer for tonight

Did well, cooked enough for all of November and drill have some left!
4 kits for Xmas runners

Repair standing Santa for outside

Net Lights on 3 cedars

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is quite the list!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes and when doing it you take 3 steps back, went and got a tote with ribbon, imagine an entire tote of ribbon and not what I want for the wreath..have one roll that will act as a filler so we will see.

Got the wet oasis in the hanging planters and set outside and filled with greenery we cut, Sooo cold, froze my hands so when I finish the wreath for Rita I will bring them in and decorate.

What a mess, sure hope no company comes till I clean up

Missy of course is beside mom making herself comfy, how when half of her is off the couch

love seeing how all of you are getting ready for Christmas :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lots of work Susan, the minute I think I'm done I see more to do..don't know how people do it at the last minute..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

The year we moved to Calgary, we didn't get any of our belongings until Dec 16th, so had to move our furniture in and get ready for Christmas. It's because our home in Winnipeg didn't sell until mid Oct, and the monies didn't get disbursed until the end of November, so we couldn't pay the moving company (who stored all our goods) until then. They didn't bring our goods until Dec 16th. Took us a day to get the furniture sorted, then........ Christmas decorations.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

They probably only have a quarter of the stuff that you put out Betty!!!! I can decorate this place in a couple of hours and that includes putting away all the everyday things!!!

Saw my brother and he is doing as well as can be expected. He is on that medicine that me so sick I couldn't take it but he is dealing with it. The bad side effects are mostly gone but he still has the shakes, no energy at all and mild depression. But he recognizes the depression for what it is and will see his doctor Monday about it. He finds it difficult to move around for much and is tired all the time. He is trying very hard to eat stuff that will put on some weight but one of the side effects is loss of appetite. A double=edged sword......
I thank you all for your prayers - it really means so very much.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

more prayers for your brother, Barb. Glad that he's doing what he can - that's very important.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb am sure you will rest better knowing your brother is holding his own..let's hope there is good news Monday!

You've moved a lot in your lifetime Susan..

Betty - lost count at 40 moves - mostly because of my ex, having "itchy feet" and nothing being good enough for him

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg you aremade of better stuff than I!

Just had a hot bubble bath, trying to stay up till at least 6 😝 seeing mom is here or I'd be stretched out on the couch..no can do she and Missy have 1st dibs on it.

Had poutine for lunch, turkey dinner awaits us..they are so big I should have only taken 1 out.

No Greg, guess he still is resting, darn flu seems to take forever to get over

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have had my share of moves, due to being married to an air force person, but I think I can count maybe 8 moves?

Betty, I wish I had the patience your Mom has, to sit there and cross stitch like she does. It is beautiful work, but just not my thing to do!

Glad you got to visit with your Brother Barb. Will keep him in our prayers!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I thought this was too funny not to share

Ohh so many moves, aren't we glad we are settled.

Kyle is on the hunt for a house, hope he finds one then I could fill it up. Lol

Omg here you were talking about kitties and Kyle just dp5 minutes ago call to say the ospca
Has a Black Friday weekend and there are 16 kitties looking for a home..rather than pay $180 it's $50

Told me to take a run tomorrow. Lol

She has worked about 20 hrs on this piece and got 1 panel done, still 2 more to go till it's finished

I asked her if she remembered a needlework quilt or two, nope she said aunt Muriel gave me a box..went downstairs and there it is..that was the box I was going to send to MRianne then she left DG so I never did send it..one quilt is about 60 percent done (not the best) nut once quilted I'm sure would be lovely..all the embroidery thread in the box..told mom I think I'm the dumping ground for anyone who has projects they don't waist

Victoria Harbour, ON

A www Susan, you should not have shown me that

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You beat me to it, Susan! I saw that wreath on facebook and was going to post it here, and then got distracted and forgot about it!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

What a gorgeous wreath !!!
Kinda time consuming? Worth it though ..

Jean .. we all looked at the 'nail caps' .. great idea, but, I tend to think they'd be a bit touchy to put on ..

I am off to bed .. been up way too long ..
