oh Marilyn - that poor child, to find her father that way - how hard for her.
Best/Worse/What did I Learn today?&Santa Warren Exchange
Funny how that happens once the kids are grown. Jim always asks what I want for Christmas or Birthday....and then gets what he thinks I want instead. Now, I just tell him we'll go shopping...he always kind of shudders as he hates shopping. GRIN.
His B'day is Dec 2 and as a kid he had to choose...the big gift for B'day and something small for Christmas or vice versa. it didn't help that his younger sister's B'day is Dec 31st. Christmas and everyone celebrated her birthday....grin
I am still trying to make my laptop and camera get along...guess I am going to have to get an SD card reader as I think the cable may be broken, or something with the camera. I am still trying to retrieve all my pics from the old laptop....a real monkey when you can only see what is on the screen for a few seconds and then it fades away...grrr.
Oh, Betty, you forgot to mark Barb's Santa Warren gift from Liz.....grin
Rough memory for a young girl. Poor darlin'
Brianna looks like the lesson is working. She will be so proud. How many have you taught to sew now Betty?
Looking at the list I think you may be right, Betty.
I got my blocks at Hobby lobby. Make sure they have the hole in the bottom, if you want to ad lights inside.
So sorry to hear about your mailman.
Jean, I don't know of any man that likes to shop, unless it is for old cars or car parts!
Beachboy's owner stopped answering calls and e-mails, I have no idea of what's going on with her. First she had some health issues, then her husband was hospitalized, always one excuse or another on why she couldn't meet me to get him back. I asked about a return of the stud fee since he has "issues" and all I got was well, maybe she could have her vet look at him, and then a couple more weeks of no calls or e-mails. She did offer to sign over co-ownership of him to my friend in Colorado. I decided that since he's with me, I might as well find out what's wrong with him, and if it's fixable, get him treated. Definite issues, my vet isn't too sure, but sending samples out to Cornell for evaluation and determination of treatment. Still, I can't keep him permanently, so don't know what will eventually happen. His owner is sending the other afghan she has back to the breeder because she says they can't afford the dog with all their health issues. So, just waiting to see what happens.
My husband is shop-a-holic. He can walk the feet off me, window shopping, and actually buying lol
Jim likes to shop on line...he can spend hours scrolling through electronics and gadgets for the kitchen and the What on Earth online catalogue... but balks at a 15 minute stop out, unless it is Trader Joes or a cheese/deli specialty shop...
MIL is sleeping, probably will for most of the afternoon. Going to grocery and then head home.
Ohh Jean, maybe there will be a pressie on your doorstep..does Mil fret when she wakes and you are not there?
Roger always thought when you went shopping you knew what size, what isle and what hanger then straight to the cashier...but when buying snowmobile or outdoor equipment it would take weeks..men thing I guess lol
Guess $$$ and/or Joann cards would best suit me..they always say I'm so hard to buy for when in reality the easiest.
Brianna went home a happy camper..she had the wall hanging picket to sew by hand, shaking my head, never thought a 19 year old, out on her own for a few years has never hand sewn?? Machine, well maybe..told her a quilt next time. Lol
Well done Brianna!
Betty, she did a wonderful job! I bet she will be back for more lessons!

I hate to shop !!!! Warren loved to shop...in the grocery store. He loved perusing the goods. It didn't matter what town/city he was in he headed for the grocery store once he was checked into the hotel. One year he did Balls Falls on our Thanksgiving weekend. He bought more than 1 turkey and told other artisans so the IGA had a run on turkeys... much more than they thought I am sure.
Just spent 1 hour and 45 min waiting for my MRI appointment. This place you are usually in before your scheduled time or right on the dot. There was no point in getting agitated about the wait it just make as waiting time go slower. They finally brought me back to the change room and I could see and hear what their problem was. There was a young lady late teens early 20's who initially refused to take all of her piercings - she had several. Then they had trouble getting the dye in her veins. The tech finally got another tech and she failed too. They ended up putting the needle in her foot. I didn't say a word as I am terrible to find veins on. I drank lots and lots of water before I left. The tech got it the first time and I asked her is it in. When she said yes I told I am very hard to get a needle in so you did more than a good job. I could tell she was shaken by the previous appointment.
Block party sounds great Betty. We used to get together here on the lane at least twice a year. It was a great time however if I don't plan it there would be none.
Karen you will get itchy feet staying home. Hope your doc appointments go well.
Brianna did a great job. You must have felt pretty proud of her Betty.
M did you say Gord was a retired fireman?
Need to get going here. BBL

Got to say if this even posts that if this is the format I'm out of here
I feel very much the same way Betty.
Ummmmmm .. what happened ?
I let my subscription lag awhile back due to way too much drama... then decided after a few months to resubscribe (read= Pay for), since some of the calmer threads that I used for good information like gardening issues and such were 'pay for' threads..
I realize that I haven't been here as long as some folks, only since 2008 or so, and the people that run this site feel the need to update and change, which is fine. But this isn't the first time that it's been changed to a format that takes the long-way-round clicking to find what's new. Hence the reason for all the old owner changes at Dave's before. Time to move back to the 'other' place or somewhere that's easier to navigate.... There's plenty of free sites to go back to, and for those who are going to jump on the wagon and say how much work these sites are, yes- I understand that, too. Many contributors here offer their time and information that we all appreciate, many make this site fun to belong to and many friends have been made. Sometimes it's just a personal decision on whether to continue or not.
If the changes are still on-going, that's great. But if not, maybe they need to change the name also... it's not the same anymore.
Hey Kathy - good to see you!!
I think the updated threads look ugly - I know that eventually I could figure it all out, but really....... sometimes change for the sake of change is NOT good....
Agree with Kathy ..
What exactly WAS the problem?
Had people complained about something?
I found navigating the site quite easy .. I know I'll have a few difficulties, but, nothing insurmountable ..I just kind of am blown away by the way it happened .. Daves has everyon's email .. they can email or dmail for membership $$, why not for something like this?
Trying out AllThingsPlants ..
Catch ya
~M~
I haven't been to AllThingsPlants for awhile, but it may be our option?!?!?!
This is dysfunctional........
They can post a notice at the home page with a link explaining the changes. That was requested the last time changes were sprung on folks. Seriously, come check out AllThingsPlants... and as Barb can attest along with LK and Susan...Cubits has some great Quilting/craft sites. www.cubits.org and again...it is free.
Admin says there are still bugs to work out, like skip to new, that should be worked out soon.
yeah, I belong to Cubits as well as AllThingsPlants.
Cubits has a broad list of topics, which is what I really want, not just plants
and of course - Cubits and AllThingsPlants are associated with each other, so it's great!!
Cya over at Cubits......
More than 1 bug, I'd drop out if I had to go to cubits
I will give it a day or so
Betty - you're on Facebook - do you go on there often?
Oh my gosh, I wonder if liz has tried to lurk, ROFLOL, I could just hear her @##$$$%%#$ away, I know I was.
Yikers Deb, I sure hope the Stud will be able to well, you Stud, hahha...seriously hope he can get better and do the job. Sounds he ectic to me.
this is in caps so Debbie can see it, im not screaming.
DEBBIE...SENDING YOU TIGHT ARMWRAPS. I SURE HOPE THEY CAN, WILL ADD COLOR FOR YOU AND SO MANY OTHERS. IT IS HARD TO READ THOUGH.
Dianne, so sorry you had a migraine, sure hope it subsides. Might be the lighting at the tire place, maybe try wearing sunglasses?
Finally got my village out...doing some decorating today.
Sure will be sorry to lose everyone's friendship
Guess I will have to start getting involved in my own community
Big sig
Betty - our friendship does not depend on a webpage..... we will continue to be friends, regardless of where we meet........!!!!
Betty, would you not at least try ATP? Here on DG, this is pretty much the only group I am comfortable yakking with. I am not on facebook, by choice, and only talk with friends on a couple threads on Cubits. I enjoy the various conversations on ATP, but haven't really settled in any one forum/thread. It would be our loss should you go away completely. That being said, I must decide by the 1st week of January if I will renew or not.
I don't like the change, but I wont leave because of it!!!
I hope it is changed back to the way it was.
Liz - I don't think that they'll change it back. They intended on making the change
Heavy Sigh,
Wow, really?? yes I do mean really as a question and not a ? whatever the kids call really?
Anyway, my gosh we just have to stick together, you know like usual, we will see each other through theses changes.
Hopefully DG will fix the quirks and we go on..
I love you all.
Armwraps and green thumbs
Well this is a fine How Do You Do.
Change just for the sake of change is NOT good. Why mess with what's working fine.
Well, I have been here several times today and could not find you guys. I am a go with the flow type of person but REALLY!!!!!
I will stick around but only as long as you guys and Fireside Chat....
Vern dropped his TV ear phones in the toilet and replacement as being mailed from LA. I purchased the warranty because I knew he would break them. So today is 2nd day with TV blasting. I actually went to Walgreen's this afternoon and purchased some ear plugs. Then this evening he plopped himself into his wheelchair from his TV watching chair and tipped it over backwards. And he said", Do not say a word". Now why would he say that. Because I have been warning him for more than 2 weeks it was going to happen and he kept telling me no way. He did not hurt himself but he did have a startled look on his face.
Our weather is getting cold and going to get colder. But that is not the problem, the wind is also coming.
12/9/15 09:11pm Las Vegas time. I am going to start all my pots with the time and date.
This format is just like ATP's.
ATP's? what's that when it's at home?
ATP .. All Things Plant :-)

I so hate this format, but would really hate to lose this group, too. If anyone is going to start chatting on the other websites, I am Windigo there, or plain ol' Deb Peters on facebook.
