Best/Worse/What did I learn today & Santa Warren Xmas Exchange

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

paying on time will NOT negate the other stuff they did. It just means they paid for November, on time.
They Still blocked our legal & easy access on Oct 18th,
Called the City to take away our property without our authorization and at our cost (will be taken from the damage deposit),
and
Failed to notify us of a potential gas leak (which will be fixed on Nov 6th, by the gas company). Any one of those reasons are cause for 2 week's notice. According to Residential Tenancy they are reasons for them to be evicted with 2 week's notice.

They can be the best tenants in the world from now on, but they still did three things to cause the eviction On Nov 15, 2014, at noon.
I took a picture of the back yard which is in a terrible state (how can the meter be read - would have to climb over all the mess.....?) and the bolt they put on the inside of the gate (expressly against our wishes, as they had previously asked for it and we said "no, the gas company needs to access for the reading")
As to whether they leave, or we have to take it to a hearing, is something we will find out on the 15th. It will take a further 2 to 3 weeks to get the hearing (not just the date, the actual hearing), then a bailiff can physically remove them the next or following day).

Just in, yikes, left leg gave out a couple of time, this old age is for the birds I say..

Yes "M" they will be glass bird feeders, have the clear glass plates and bowls, hardware, feeders, need more mason jars ..bought the drill bit $28.98 ouch

Decided I'm going to have pork and bean sandwiches, then toddle off to bed..have 4 girls coming for 9am, all doing different projects so need energy

Won't go to bed as soon as I climb in but will be a good start.

Holy gee whiz, his and her Christmas is on
Does the programming for TV not realize we just entered November?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ooooh I love bean sandwiches. Thought I was the only one. Grossed out my DDIL when she saw me make one. I add butter & mayo.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, did you hurt yourself when your leg went out?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ok Karen & Betty - grossed me out lol
We had "Holiday meat" and beans for dinner, with a side of salad.
I can't even think that there was such a thing as bean sandwiches?!?! and with mayo? ewwwww

It must be a "beans" time of year, eh? lol how funny that we each had beans.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We had chili! I have never heard of a bean sandwich either.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I actually like it better if the beans are baked.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

wouldn't it be awfully runny?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Right from the can they are but when baked, they are dryer.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ah - baked, yes, I see

Victoria Harbour, ON

Never heard of it with mayo Karen

Lordy, once I open a can its all I have to do to not eat it until can is gone..delicious

No Lindakay didn't hurt myself, as you know you can feel a weakness and just have to sit for a tad

Had hoped I'd get a good sleep but nope, wide awake..mind is thinking of Noah and family today

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Betty, here's hoping all goes well today .. in my thoughts and prayers.
My 'circadian rhythm'is still all botched up .. fought the pillows from 0430 til 0600 and finally just got up .
Opened the door to let the dogs out, and ended up outside as well .. going to be a mild day temp wise ..in the mid 50s or higher .

DH has his ophthalmologist appointment this aft at 3pm .. I always go with him cuz ya never know when they'll stick those dilating drops in his eyes .. if they do, he doesn't like to drive ..
Going early to stop by the 'CROC SHOP' I have a gift certificate to use from my bday.

Lorna is busy sorting through old clothing, going to donate it ..

I hear ya on the leg Betty .. my operative leg, the right, still sometimes puts the brakes on and has me stop and give it a rest ..

Love baked beans, but, have never tried them in a sandwich ..Gord makes killer baked beans LoL .. used to make pots of them at the firehall .. then they graduated to using slow cookers .. must mention that he hasn't made any for a bit ..

Still wondering, and worrying re Barb and Dianne .. and , Debbie and Deb .. and Sharon, Judy, Jean ... LoL .. the list goes on :-)

Off to read the paper ..

Morning all,

Miss them too, sad when life gets in the way..worry about them
It's like missing a family member, guess we will have to hold up the fort until they return or take the hint and close the thread!!😢. Perhaps it's outlived its usefulness..

Weather like yours, just gorgeous out there, but I think it will change shortly.
Have you heard if it will be a harsh winter or mild and little snow..after buying the boys snowmobile passes they had best not hear that.

Never was good at making baked beans so always been cans for me, still tasty though.

Same here, been up since about 5am, tidying up, load of was, finished the Xmas cards I started now sitting having coffee then get dressed ready to start my day.

Have fun buying your crocs..gift certificates can be so easy to misplace or some have expiration dates.

Going to email Greg asking for an update the minute they hear about the courts decision, thanks for the prayers.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for a good court day! I can't imagine the stress they have all been through waiting for this day!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm here and getting better. I've had a bad breathing spell but it is finally on the mend. When I get them, I sort of hide for a while until it has passed. Don't like sharing feeling yucky .

I am back on track with my sewing and knitting. Just finished another purse (only one more ordered) and made two dog sweaters and working on a third. Can't wait to get my camera back once again from my son.

Been reading a lot also. Also trying to finish up my Christmas shopping. Whatever I didn't make, I'm getting on line. I'm really grateful I can do that. Can't imagine how handicapped people felt before when they couldn't get out to shop.

Didn't mean to be a recluse - tried to at least keep up with prayers. Thank you all for you concern and I'll try to do a lot better about keeping in touch.

Not going to try to address each one - will send love and thanks to all.

I'm here, just lurking. Not much going on, trying to get used to the time change. Gorgeous weather this week, low 70's, while I'm at work, of course, and cold again starting on Friday. I'd really like to get the lawn mowed one more time, but it's getting dark so soon after I get home, not enough time.

Sorry to hear your not feeling well Barb. Get well soon! Sounds like your son needs a camera for Christmas?

I think I went to bed a 3pm. Got up arouond 6 to feed the dogs then cack to be until 7 this morning. Feeling headachy and hungover but celebratory. Land is paid for, IRS is done with me and I can get my immigration status taken care of in three years for $100 per year and then be permanent. Or so Enrique said yesterady. Between his now having a boss and Maria (wife of his cousin) there to translate things went OK. He doesn't speak much English and was probably (almost) grateful that I brought a translater. The government does change the rules which is what happened several years ago when I had begun the process and then stopped. That is why I had to pay the fine. I didn't get a receipt but do have a reliable witness so am not worried. Maria is stand-up.

Thinking of Noah and family and praying all goes well for them. Can't imangine dealing with knowing someone intended to kill him. Sorry for asailant's family but I hope the young man is put away for a long, long time. This was not a "kid's" attack.

Tony is here and also happy about the news. Anita will be here tomorrow. Our former helper Carlos showed up wanting to work again but ai had to say not right now. Both money concerns and I can't cope with another employee right now. Tony and Anita are both self-starters. Two more of my blessings.

Another blessing. Neighbor Tom, Dana's husband, seems much ahppier this year than he has been in the past. He even gave me a hug of greeting when they got here. Others have also noticed. Good news as he could be grumpy. He likes okra so I'm taking them a batch every couple of days. Want to keep him happy.

I think I've gone into my holiday survivor mode. Will get my Santa costume ready. Yes, Betty, I did get the hat and bread and thank you so much. And well get lots of suffed animals ready and I have the hard candy from last years. Have to check if the bugs go t into it I'll have to get more when I'm north. We'll get out our lighted plastic snowman for the front garden.

Betty, don't even think of closing the thread. Most everyone checks in now and then and the lurkers probably still need the support of knowing their friends are here.

It's our lovely weather time of year so I'm going outside to enjoy it and water my plants.

hugs, katie

Good Day.
Good thoughts for Noah and family today. Hope all goes well for Gord this afternoon. Katie so glad three monkeys have been sent packing. Know you are breathing easier and hope this reduction in stress allows you to feel better.

MIL has been in the hospital, pneumonia and hypoxia due to congestive heart failure. Think the Doc has it under control. MIL has aortic stenosis, a seriously faulty valve, and her heart was only working at about 25%. They started her on antibiotics, a med to improve blood flow and a med to slow down her heart so it does not fight the blood flow, and Lasix for the fluid retention.

Betty, I have always been a lurker and may always be, but even so, I read as much as time allows and think of you all often. Oh, don't forget to add Judy to the Santa Warren exchange. GRIN

Sending prayers for your MIL.

Betty, Keeping your family in thoughts and prayers.
...My vote is NO. Sorry to post so seldom, it really has been a crazy rollercoaster, but I am in good place to take a rest from all the work. LOL, well there is always last minute outside work. I've been working on back crafting projects! woohoo, I'm on a roll and actually finished a project, and I have few still in progress...
Since we've been back I've been getting back on track laundry, birds, house...shopping, got my hat and gloves for this years craft. Finally got all my photo's in folders!
Pegasus is being a real brat! He's decided to dump his water bowl out, when he's mad...Yesterday He got in serious trouble and was caged for the day. Today he has decided to chew on my lamp, more trouble...Flo is being nicer to me. She still a biter but at least she stopped snarling at me.

I should be outside enjoy the weather! DH is playing hookie and went for a ride. lol good for him. The birds are being quiet so think I'll go soak up a kiss from the sun.

I'll be back in a little bit.
