Bigger expression would be to see me almost in tears as I opened the quilt tote. Lol
Now wondering where on earth I put so much..love it though, Christmas is my thing
Can't imagine for several years after Roger died at New Years I gave all my pretties away, bound to never decorate but the love of Christmas came back
I saw a photo of a tree decorated like a snowman, now I have the snowman head, anyway it looked like a person standing on the outside of the tree bellow the waist only..was cute, think I might try it, no, not today but will decorate the basement tree like it if I can
Best/Worse/What did I learn today & Santa Warren Xmas Exchange
Can't wait to see how your tree comes out.
It's another lovely day here. Tony is taking his father to the eye doctor so he won't be here. Anita was here yesterday and is due back today. Oh, she just got here.
I'm still worried about the situation with Enrique. Need to see if I can talk to Saul today. One way or another it will work out but it's a drain on my already low energy. Anita tells me Enrique to well-known as a nasty bandit. The ability to do anything about it here varies and he can make problems, Waiting to see if Maria is home yet.
LindaKay, so glad you were not hurt worse. Lots of states now do not hold anyone to blame for this kind of accident so don't let your insurance company hold you responsible without checking it out.
When I landscaped for my frien in San Francisco I brought home a lot of naked lady bulbs, not sure how they would fare during our hot summer. Two of them are in bloom this morning!! I hope they are able to stay alive here. Anyway, the flowers cheered me up.
Betty, I get so used to seeing mice I don't jump anymore. This place was empty for many years and the mice moved in. It's hard to get rid of them once they have settled in. They can really damage fabric so we keep traps out.
hugs, katie
You are a stronger woman than I Katie on many fronts
One the mice but the most is I'd be so frightened having to deal with Enrique..after hearing all the stories re Americans/Canadian living or visiting in Mexico I'd not sleep for fear of having my throat slit..might be an exaggeration but perhaps not.
Do you know anyone else having same problem..
Best of luck dealing with it...
Did you leave town??
I'm here :-)
Lorna and I had a busy day .. off to the dump .. then into town to get haircuts .. then some shopping .. picked up some movies ..
Flippin well cold and damp ... almost snowing, going to be a tough night for the little ones out Trick er Treating .. ..
Always have costumes here in the north, that you can fit a snow suit over ..
Burgers for dinner .. DH says he will stand out and BBQ them ?
We'll see
TTFN
~M~
Testing, anyone there?
Would ya look at that Betty !!
We posted at EXACTLY the same time ....
Wooo hooo :-)
Thought maybe DG was down
Kids here will have a perfect night
Sorry to hear not so in your neck of the woods..they so enjoy it
Get fewer and fewer every year though
Hear you re being busy
Overdid with lifting the totes, carrying totes, 4 loads of wash re Christmas t towels, placemats etc..now hurting but can't go soak yet, maybe painkiller will help
Hard to believe how dark it's getting and really the 5:10 tomorrow will be 4:10. Shaking my head..don't like that art of it
I didn't take a dinner out of the freezer and hadn't eaten anything since breakfast so called for souvlaki dinner, delicious, enough for tomorrow night.
Great minds think alike right..unusually quiet, here hope everyone is ok just busy
Bet Lorna is thrilled no work Monday
I am here. Hubby and I went to town for lunch and shopping. Holy cow the stores were packed with last minute Halloween shoppers.
I bet the store will be filled with Christmas stuff tomorrow!
Bet it will, already last night I noticed only a few aisles Halloween rest was being cleared for xmas
re: Mice - katie, you may be used to them, but I'm not - talk about Hallowe'en type shreeking - that would be ME lol
Just home from service M& C their 14 day notice. He says he has 14 days to "think about" the 14 day notice.
Brought my cousin Cher with us, and because she was wearing a City of Calgary RCAC (Royal Canadian Air Cadets) jacket, he asked if she was representing the City of Calgary, She said "no, I am not representing the City Of Calgary". He just phoned (calling us idiots), saying that she portrayed that she was representing the City, and that he's called the police to let them know about it, and they will be investigating this.
I called her, and we had a good laugh about it.
btw - he said he was recording us, and we told him "you expressly do Not have our permission to post this video online" He says he has a good lawyer (gave us his name - and I ignored it. I'm not going to need it unless the lawyer calls us.
I didn't take any pictures of the den, because I asked if the baby was sleeping, he said "yes" and I said "I don't want to disturb the baby" so I didn't open the door to the den.
Siiiiiiiiigh - this is going to get nasty, as I said it would......
Mind boggling Susan, there are no words
"m" spoke too soon, waited till trick or treat time and torrential rain 😪
Heading off to watch a movie ..
Woodstove is burning .. and, I just betcha I fall asleep if the movie is boring :-)
Susan .. I simply could not take the stress from all you are going through .. I would finda new home, and move until the dust settles ..
Seriously .. I think I would have either slapped, or, killed Marcel by now ..
~M~
So far, 38 kids
Glad I bought pop, should last till Christmas, maybe not the chocolate bars. Lol
Will stay up till 9 then shiput the lights odd and head to bed
Much same here "M"
I'm watching first 48 hrs
Most of what is on tonight is Halloween thrillers
Marilynne - because Christians advocate "turn the other cheek" some people think we're doormats, but I'm here to tell anyone, I'm not a doormat, but I will stand up for myself. hehehe I felt like singing "Onward Christian Soldiers" as I approached their place, but figured he'd say I was proselytizing and subjecting them to religious dogma lol
omg I'm starting to anticipate him LMAO (sorry, couldn't resist!!!)
DGD Amanda got her first double play today, a buck and a doe with bow. Also her first buck with bow.
Betty I too am watching 48 Hours. Not much on TV tonight but I am too tired to watch a DVD.I have several here to watch - I tend to buy up DVDs during the nicer weather and put them aside for a stormy day. The UPS drivers hate my lane in the winter.
I have just had 1 awful week ---here's hoping this next week is better.I fell out of bed on Mon around 3 am and woke up when my noggin hit the window sill. Then 1 day I was kneeling on the hardwood floor and when I went to get up my foot went 1 way and my knee the other. Major ouch. Then around midnight Thursday I went out to get Duke's leash unraveled and I lost my footing. Have a great case of road rash and 3 open spots which luckily don't need stitches.
Hope you all had some trick or treaters. I never get any. Even the 2 kids on the lane go out in Kingston. When we lived in TO our home was always the last spot as the parents would stay for a drink. Warren was in his element. He would get down on the floor with the kids and negotiate trades.
Betty its raining there? Keep it there.
M how is Gord making out recouping?
Hope the sandman finds you all.
Dianne
You are 1 proud grandma aren't you Karen? What a thrill for your DGD> Amanda must be beyond excited. Most of the people in my area rely on the deer to feed their families. They also fish to fill their freeze. Please give Amanda a big congrats from me. And with a bow no less.Wow
how nice, Karen, for your DGD - she must be proud of herself
Dianne - no more falls for you, young lady!!
Dianne, I thought we had an agreement about this.
I'm tired from doing some hard work in the garden and having a difficult visit with my friend Saul. His adult son is drinking a lot, his grandson just got sent home from school and Saul is having some serious health problems. Maria expects to be home Monday night and be able to go to immigration with me on Tuesday. If she doesn't make it, Saul will go with me. He is very respected in this area.
I don't feel in physical danger. Enrique is greedy and awful but not murderous. My dogs protect me from ntruders.
Inky Dink is having a good time. The older dogs are still jealous - especially Twink - but they let her run with them when they escape from my fenced yard. Max is very good about not trying to grab food from her. It surprises me that he is such a gentleman.
Susan, what is there to say? Get 'em. Accusations of child molestation are really dirty pool. But I suspect your tenants have lost their credibility with anyone who matters.
I'm glad to be worn out physically. It might help me to sleep.
hugs, katie

yeah, Katie - don't pull any punches - Dianne should follow your agreement, as should you - no more falls, hurting yourself, or bangs/bruises, etc!! C'mon young ladies - behave well, not badly!!!!!! lol
Yeah, our tenants are playing "dirty pool".
I'm sure they are losing credibility. One neighbour says he's not our friend anymore because we made a bad choice and rented out our mobile. I didn't mention the bad choice he made in a tenant when he rented a room to one - that one kept his stuff in their garage for a year after he moved out, and when he was there was stealing Wifi from another neighbour rather than paying for his own internet. I'm not about to bicker with our neighbour about His bad choices. I'm keeping mum.
Big party going on next door, feels like the bing bang music is going on inside my home, rarely happens, nice to be young!
Karen, congrats to Amanda, Lordy, with a bow no less..likely you are as excited as she.
Dianne, that is some week you had, the good news is nothing broken right. Do you have someone that checks daily to see if you are ok while having vertigo? Sure hope so, hate to think of you just laying there in pain with no help.
Rain put a damper on Halloween, ended up after older kids dropped in having about 48
Still raining out, suppose to be the same all week..not so sure I can keep it in my neck of the woods Dianne, heading your way..hope you've mega cd's not much on tv for sure, if it isn't "mighty mouse'" it's killing and horror shows, add in reality shows and well, not worth watching.
Susan, doesn't sound like the welcoming committee will be out welcoming you home, goodness knows what the tenants have done to your and Bob's reputation, always someone willing to listen to garbage...your life just seems to be going from bad to worse
Lindakay, watching the horrors of the flooding in Texas, those poor fella's being saved and losing their brother..is any of this flooding happening near you?
Katie, Enrique has what title? You spent so much time in USA last year surely you are close to being within the time guidelines for seasonal residency. Furries have such different personalities don't they..glad you are enjoying each of them
Should get up and doing something, going to be a long night
This message was edited Nov 1, 2015 1:27 AM
Our movie was B O R I N G !!!!!!! I did manage to stay awake though .. it was called'The Gambler', with Mark Wahlberg .. darned if I know what was up, besides abject stupidity on his part .. Kenny Rogers could have sung The Gambler and I would have been more interested LoL
Re Gordon .. he is doing well .. just kinda has 'had it' re the drops in the eyes .. I got him a small notebook, and he wrote down the times he prefers to instil the drops. We see the opthamologist on Wednesday for his follow up.
Right now he is anxiously awaiting his Left carpal tunnel release, and, I am so hoping he heals well following ..
Oh Dianne .. too many OOPSIES ..being out in the boonies DOES have some drawbacks .. I find, on Fridays, when I am (was) alone here, I carried my cellphone in a pocket .. just in case .. prior to my hip surgery, when I was as weak as a kitten .. we came home from an apt in town. Gordon wanted to walk me into the house, but, I said I was fine, not to worry .. he wanted to put bird seed out .. I walked to the house, I was using a cane .. opened the back door ..let the dogs ZOoooooooooooooom out, and, as I stepped over the threshold, BOOM, my foot caught, and, it was T I M B E R .. down I went .. I was hidden from view .. no phone .. and, I couldn't get up ! the dogs created a huge fuss .. and, after about the longest 10 minutes ever .. Gord realized something was amiss .. even thinking back on it scares me ..
Just saying, take care Dianne, because ,we care :-)
Karen, first year Gord is not out deer hunting .. pulling back a Bow is too difficult, and, his rifles are so heavy .. I'm a woman who can cook Venison or Moose meat a 101 ways LoL
Congrats to Amanda .. now the REAL work begins :-)
Katie .. all I can do is wish you all the best with Enrique .. I wish I could send Sylvester Stallone down there to be with you !
Right outta kilter here with the time change .. trying to be quiet .. almost 7am, and, still pitch black outside ..
BBL :-)
~M~
PS .. how ya doin LK .. and Barb, how's Norm?
"m" always takes a bit to get used to new time, luckily today we gain an hour.
Scary situation for you for sure, just goes to show we need some kind of buddy system just in case something happens to we who live alone.
Just think, Gord will be over all these health issues by Christmas and you can put it all behind you..
Just back from Walmart, pick up another lighting system, other one has a short in it, will bring it with me stateside and see what I can do about it.
Needed another string of icicle lights as one set gave up the dust
Want all outside Christmas decor done today then no worries if it snows, coming you know
See there is a car, half in my front ditch, think perhaps it's best or someone might have been driving.
Enjoying a timmies coffee and cream filled donut, ok 2 cream filled donuts. Lol
but now it's time to get a move on
Have everything Halloween sitting on the table and on the floor, time to get the totes in and pack..did buy wide tape, yikes not cheap, hoping they will make them mice free
Morning everyone.
Hubby and I went to home depot to look for the blocks with a hole. No luck. So I will order them from hobby lobby.
Just that little bit of walking wore me out.
Dianne, so sorry to hear about your falling. Maybe you need a roommate to look after you.
Lindakay, Darlene just bought me 15 at Home Depot in Branford, dropped them off, great that I won't have to drill holes, now to find a place to put them till the 21st
Haven't stopped all weekend, still going strong but can feel I'm starting to tire
However, the temps just dropped substantially so I'm thinking if it's cold now just wait if you don't continue your mission, you will freeze. Just the net light on the 3 cedars need to be done, once I know I'm calling it a day I will go out and finish it then hot bath for me. Have chicken souvlaki left so won't need to cook
Halloween is out away, about 6 more totes left to unpack
I will not set up the trees right now but Darlene says I will 1st rainy day
Lots of washing of all the pieces just in case mice were in the tote, doubt it,think they all lock well except for 2 which I threw almost all away.
Dang mice/voles/chippers /squirrels .. would HATE to be bitten by any of them as I have seen what they do to heavy plastic totes and plastics of other sorts .. nasty creatures .. our garage is home to MANY, and, getting shed of them is totally an exercise in futility ..
Opened one of Murrays old gym bags last spring, and, of course, here's a Momma Mouse .. fleeing out the bag, leaving behind her wee pink brood .. broke my heart .. but .. HANTA virus is not a good thing !!
We've trapped 2 under the kitchen sink .. maybe I need to get a barn kitten .. NO NO NO .. I swore ,no more kitter pusses after Smokey ..
I have been doing laundry .. and, looking for a recipe for a pork loin roast .. DH bought one, but, I tend to find them DRY .. marinated overnight .. but, want to ensure it isn't DRY .. cooked one on the BBQ this summer, used just a rub on it .. turned out well ..
Look out Google, here I come :-)
I'll be going to Home Depot, maybe I'll look for ablock or two .. I'm sure I could do SOMETHING Christmasy to it :-)
BBL

""m" without effort you could have done the workshop, could mail you a kit from state side, imagine cheaper sending to canada from USA vs sending from Canada..think about it..maybe you and Lorna could collaborate.
Going to purchase posin and feed them this winter, not inundated with them but there are a few and saw 2 run back into the shed..like you, hate to kill them b u t
Brought 2 more totes up to back deck, will finish unpacking those then that is it for today as its pouring rain.,have outside lights on as I want to check them when it gets dark
Omg omg I hadn't looked at the clock, surely it's not 1pm
I thought it was p at least 4:30
Heck with that, I've put in a. Work weekend not stopping except for a coffee here and there so deserve to sit
Have the snowman runner that I can sit and sew eyes on, no energy project..if I don't do something I know what will happen, fall asleep and then not sleep all night
Especially tired not only because of hour change but the party cars in/out and music that I didn't sleep much, what to do what to do
http://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-%26-Hobbies/Glass-Crafting/Glass-Containers/8%22-x-8%22--Deco-Blok-Glass-Block-with-Hole/p/26731
I just ordered my blocks from Hobby Lobby, $6.00 each.
Betty, I am with you .. this day is DRAGGING !!!!!!!!!
Finished cleaning the bathrooms, popped out to check on the time .. was only 1230 ~
Gonna google a recipe and get supper out of the way ..
BBL
~M~
That is a good deal Lindakay, did you order lights as well?
Soon be thinking stews/soups
Yes, I ordered lights.
Do you need hat, gloves and scarf?
Just had a nice visit with neighbor Dana after a difficult morning. There is some good news - apparently, since I last had to deal with him there is a new person at immigration who is above Enrique. Depending on how our conversation goes it may not go so well for Enrique.
It's fairly warm here today and I've watered the plants. Too hot to work very hard though I did a little.
I enjoy talking to Dana. We laughed about Tony asking me just before he left on Friday if I had something Barbara could use as a Halloween costume. She had asked Tony to ask me. Dana and I cracked up as I said it took less than two minutes for me to find a Mardi Gras mask with feathers and a skull decorated t-shirt. My house may be a mess but it can be a useful kind of mess!! Another friend once came over and spotted a plastic pot of a size she needed. She told me she had searched the local dump looking for one. I told her: "Always come to my house before you go to the dump!!"
Inky Dink went with me on the visit and got to play with Dana's little dogs. Great fun for all.
Then Tom came and told us of an accident. The neighbor below me has a concrete retaining wall with a chain link fefnce behhind his property, on the right of the road that goes up the hill. Someone drove into the fence and went over the wall. No one was killed. We suspect alchohol was involved. Sunday morning coming down.
LindaKay, although you were not badly hurt you had a shock with the accident and need to take it easy.
hugs, katie
Katie by your comment re Enrique do you think he was taking action on his own, trying to get $$$ and not acting on behalf of Mexican government? Thank goodness nobody was killed, do you know the man? Sounds like your place is the place to go when in need.
Dianne, how are all to "ouchies"
Is it bed time?? What a long day..
Greg and Melanie dropped in for a few hours, nice to see them, they had a late lunch in Orillia but did get into the chocolate bars.
Got told one doesn't take Christmas decorations out til after nov11th..oh well, I base it on the weather.
The young man that stabbed Noah pleaded guilty to attempted murder, judge decides whether he will get adult or youth sentencing and give him his fate on Wednesday.
Guess with the one fellow being sentenced a few weeks ago and plea bargained for shorter sentence he added to the case..it is said the young man lured Noah with the sole intent to kill him
I asked Melanie what she thought he would get, likely no more than 5 yrs..do hope in a way it's more..doesn't seem fair when someone steals a car and gets 5 yearS. Not sure if the 3rd man who was there but didn't do the stabbing will plead guilty now that the other 2 have
So yet another day in court for the family on the good side, Kyle is looking at homes for sale, would be a good investment for him and Briana.
Think I will go on yesterday's time, had my bath, going to rub my hip and legs with voltaren, take meds and get comfy in bed.
There's no doubt - Enrique put a "fine" he charged me directly in his pocket and refused to give me a receipt. Don't know either of the men that were in the accident but one was face down in the grass, passed out so I didn't see his face. katie
