It's a great honor to post info for Dianne for the

" 3rd Annual 'Christmas Friendship Gift Exchange' in Memory of Santa Warren"

We were all thrilled 4 years ago when Dianne and Santa Warren brought up having a Gift Exchange amongst we friends, often thought of more as family.

"I guess we should decided on an upper limit cost wise, I would hate to see anyone withdraw because they were afraid the couldn't keep up with the Joneses (old Welsh expression). So I guess we should consider a guide for the cost factor, it doesn't have to be hand made"

No amount will be set.. gifts either handmade or bought will be within each others budget !!!

Sign up by November 7th

names given on the 9th..am sure duke and diesel will think its an honor to pick names for us

mailing by December 1st as to be ahead of the Christmas rush

Thank you Dianne for hosting this Christmas Exchange and we will look forward to our names..

I will keep the Santa Warren friendship Christmas Exchange on top of each thread until the exchange has been completed.

As I'm looking forward to this exchange I will start it..

Morning all,

Quite the storm brewing here, Toronto being hit more than we in the north, records will be broken today re rain fall, suppose to last I until later tomorrow

Sure hope those new sump pumps work

Drats, bought a generator and stored it under the deck, never took it out of the box, should have just in case I need it. Say we could get 50-90 winds

Ugly out there

Be safe everyone

Suppose to have a few girls come over this morning but might' not

Was up at 4am .. storm was just blowing in off Lake Superior .. checked the radar, let the dogs out, and went and told Lorna she wouldn't be going to work, so, she should shut off her alarm
Got up at 8am !!!!!!!!!!!!! Something I NEVER do !
Feel kind of disjointed and as if I've missed something .. sometimes (most) I can be a 'kookie bird' LoL
Storm will last awhile by the looks of the radar ..
Hope you do't get those winds Betty .. our wind chimes are clanking and banging, so, the wind must be strong(ish)

Off to make a coffee

Trees "M" are being like in a winter storm, just a howling, glad I'm inside

Was just looking at the oak tree out front, an odd leaf falling and thinking how someone must have glued them to the branches, how could they not be blowing off???

Rain for next few days, sure hope the landscaper can find a dry day before snow falls

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like a nice day to stay indoors for a bunch of you. It is 55 right now, but will warm up to mid 80's this afternoon.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Lk, sorry about your appointment. Hope the mri gets you results.
Marilyn, glad things went well for Gord.

Pouring like crazy, thought I might need a boat to get home.
I've got to think about the Santa exchange, I like to make something, and I am really stretching thin, as it is.
Got doctor appointment to get to, Y'all have a great day

Ahh Thinder, lovely photo and look at that tie dye t-shirt, a sewing machine imprint, your hubby is doing a great job, an artist. Hope you can join in, doesn't have to be homemade..

Girls just left

They did fantastic (must be the teacher lol)
Next week they should have the top made

I made Missy a little bag, didn't take her long to get in it and snooze while we worked and kept her company,

Colleen brought a mason jar her mom sent her from out west as she said she was going to take a class..filled with items you need to start..cute idea

My best Christmas present will be if our tenants pay late in Nov & Dec, then we'll be in our home by Dec 19th....... if not, then we'll be in the end of Jan - either way, it will be great

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

awww Betty - of Course it's the teacher! The girls look like they're having fun, and doing a great job.
I think I'll use a mason jar that way - what a great idea! Thinking that the "pouf" the needles go in could be glued to the ring on the sealer without the putting on the lid - and then longer needles could go in it. Then you could unscrew the ring and get at the rest of the stuff - just thinking out loud :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is what you do Susan, glued to mason jar lid
Remove lid for cutter, pins, sewing machine needles, scissors, seam ripper, thimble

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Looks like another great craft day at Betty's! You know if we all lived closer, you would have to lock your doors, as we would be there all the time! :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

You would be more than welcome!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

No, Betty - I mean that I would remove the circle, so longer needles could even extend into the jar......and you'd only have the screw-on part (outer circle)

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Betty's tummy, meet Marilynne's tummy .. now .. shake hands and STOP feeling nauseous ..
What an ikky day, so far,
Lorna went into town alone, I went back to bed ... Gordon says I had quite the dream too LoL
Got up and showered and I still feel crummy ..

Looks like your gurls had a productive morning .. Missy and I both slept it away ..

We have oddles and kaboodles of rain .. kinda does nothing to lift the spirit ..

Wonderful pics Thunder .. :-)

Susan, I pray the time passes quickly for you ..

LK .. what you described last night re your pain is absolutely classic hip related discomfort .. I really don't know what to say .. perhaps you should approach your family doctor again?

BBL (maybe)

Excuse me for jumping into your thread - but for 2 days I have been getting a maintenance down message for Dave's Garden and was able to get in only to this forum by an indirect way. Is anyone else getting this? What is going on?

If any of you can access the whole site, please notify Melody or Terry (?) that some are having problems. Thank you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did have problems the other day but only last an hour or so..did send a post to admin with your concerns

Could work Susan

"m" it's a crummy day but I'm making the most of it..
Layer on the chesterfield for about 10 minutes, said 'self, get yourself up and do something' so downstairs I went, quilted the snowman piece that was on the wall waiting to get done
Having a break then will go and put binding on so I can hand sew..listed 5 sets of buttons for eyes and eye hooks for ties, going to take a ride to Barrie on Saturday so I can do final sewing and set it in the tote.

I'm excited for supper, took turkey dinner out, will take a quick ride to post office then foodland, forgot to keep cramberries

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - sounds like your tummy is feeling better, because you're going to have turkey dinner tonight.

Spoke to Health & Safety this morning, about the report they did on Marcel & Carolyn's place. They said that when we move in (mid-Dec or end of Jan), let him know and he'll close the case. He won't do anything about it before then.
I asked him why we (as landlords) don't have an advocate, like tenants do. Then I told him how vindictive and nasty M&C have been - told him about the nasty emails, demands, and that they refuse to let us in if we bring anyone else with us (like police), even when we have a legal right to (as per Notice to Enter).
H&S said it's a good thing that we bring police with us every time we go there. He asked what Residential Tenancy said when we told them what I told him - said it was "non, or habitual late payment of rent". Told him a lawyer said we could also evict for "personal use by the landlords"

It was a nice day here until about fifteen minutes ago when Awful Enrique from immigration showed up. I have to go to his office on Nov. 3. I've asked my friend Maria to go with me. Her husband is a cousin of Enrique. Enrique is one of the most unpleasant - and greedy - people I've had to deal with here. I will proably have to start the process of getting a permanent residency, rather than the tourist visas I've been using. Dang, done with the IRS and now Mexican immigration to deal with.

I'm going back to my garden . I'd eat worms if I could find any.

kb

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Katie - don't you have "squatter's rights" for living there for so long (how long?) and owning the property, all paid up for? This should make it quicker, and easier for you - just formalities, right?

mulege, Mexico

No, entirely different rules. kb

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yikes Katie, might mean you have to spend more time in USA..that wouldn't be good..I'd be eating nails instead of warms that way you could spit them out when needed

Susan, will be interesting for sure to see if they do or don't pay rent rent

No tummy is off but got to eat something..enough in container for supper and lunch tomorrow.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I'm hoping (and betting) that they don't pay Nov rent until late, but even then I would have to wait until it's "habitual" by paying late in Dec. If they don't pay on the FIRST of each month, it's automatically late by the 2nd and we can serve notice on the 2nd.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well you've only a few days to wait..Monday they will be late.

Decided I don't have to have cranberries, I've cranberry jam, just too wicked out there

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Lorna's parents south of you Betty are getting the storm as well, and, I do think Patricia is kicking butt in the Kingston area ..

Katie .. how exasperating for you .. hope this all turns out well with ,nasty man, !

Stillwood .. I have had trouble off and on for about a month with access to Daves .. but, the last few days have been good ..

Chicken for supper and sweet potato and cauliflower .. will take a stab at eating something ..

My brother went to the doc today .. has an 'area' on his chest that looks off .. having surgery to figure it out on Nov. 27th.
Bob is 80 going on 60 .. very healthy and active .. hoping it's nothing serious ..
