Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks, payment will give me spending $$$$ on the 13th

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lindakay, do you need hat/scarf and gloves as well?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No. I can find them here.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Seems odd to find such things in texas

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It does, but if we drop to 40, you should see those get bundled up, boots heavy coats, mittens and scarves.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lol we are still in shorts at 40..kidding but close to it.

Ocean Springs, MS

Betty, at 40, I am in jeans, long sleeve shirt, socks, boots and the heart cranked up! Bit it may not be as bad this year because my fibromyalgia medicine seems to make me feel warmer than usual. I actually sleep with a fan on me now! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad meds are helping julie

Body aching big time here, rain and cold brings it on more so

Just addressed the envelopes, just missing Liz's new address then they will be ready to post on the 14th

Would mail them from here but likely get there no sooner than if I mailed from USA

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

OK I lost this thread and just now found it,so I have some catching up to do.
Walmart has the glass blocks in the Floral section in crafts for 8.97, which is where I got mine, still cheaper than Hobby Lobby by the time you pay shipping @ 6.00+. My nearest Hobby Lobby is an hour away, so buying one in the store was not the best option for me.

Betty I will get my money out in the mail ASAP.Do we send to the address in the exchange?

I have my Block, hat and scarf, gloves, lights. Still need to get paint, I have some but not all the colors and my Walmart was out of stock on most of the ones I needed.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Don't ever remember Annette seeing the blocks in walmart, kudos to you for finding them
You are organized for sure
Is the block 8x8?

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Yes it is 8x8 (7 1/2x 7 1/2 inside). They are in the Floral dept of Crafts, where the Vases are. So I think that makes them a little harder to find. It might not occur to someone to look where the vases are. And they only had a few on the shelf so you might have to ask if they are out of them. I found them on a hunch, knowing how WM works. I worked as Crafts dept Mgr for several years, so I know how they roll, lol.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Might need a few more, might pick some up when I go to Buffalo, by then I will know how many more I might need

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I am sending you payment for two kits.

Victoria Harbour, ON

K, I will add 2 for you

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

One for me, Betty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will do

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Boy you are organized Judy, look at you go. lol
Love it!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I am all set too Betty. Got my block, lights, scarf, hat and mittens. I also like the idea of a day together and it will be a lot easier now that it is just me and no Sean. (Boohoo), always hard to find a day with his schedule......

Ocean Springs, MS

I'm ready, too, except for the package! ☺

Victoria Harbour, ON

Got you $$$ today Lindakay and Julie
Tks

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

You should get mine by Thursday Betty.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

I think I have everything together, except the tile and glass medium. I haven't found any of that yet.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh I forgot and bout the glass medium. I'll need to scroll back and find what I am supposed to get.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Do you think as you need to little if I were to put some in small zip lock back, seal it with tape and put in another Baggie in case it opens it would work..hmmm I will try that

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, can you post a list of all items we will need?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did somewhere but will go back then post again

Not a lot

What is needed for each Santa Snowlady glass block

Glass block ( hobby lobby or Michaels I believe had these with opening for lights)
** remember to use a discount coupon when purchasing
1 - battery operated cord set or plug in set..I prefer battery so I can move it where I want

Red scarf/hat/gloves

Paint: red/black/orange/blue/ lt and dark greens (Grey will be a mixture of white/black)
Glue - for this project I use glue gun -to adhere hat to glass block

I will send in kit

- mactac for face - cut out for easy use to set in face
- face pattern
- piece of cording for hat
- 2- snowflakes that have an iron on backing, 1 for hat and 1 for gloves
- best not forget glitter

If any of you are unable to get any of the items let me know and I can ship
Please let me know by November 3 Rd so I can gather and make up packages

Only thing is, I usually either paint the glass with a glass and tile medium for better adherence of paint or I use spray frost, trying to avoid you having to purchase the spray so will try to find some I can divide in small jar..maybe you could check craft store near you and see if the carry in the craft paint section the glass and tile medium

So what I need from you is what in the section that was for you to purchase that you need me to include

I moved this over from the previous thread.....

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Meant to add that I think it should be all right to send that stuff in the baggie in a baggie.....

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Keeping "M" in my prayers.....t

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is good, will add glass and tile medium and also a bag with brush on glitter for Jose.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Another hr and I shuffle off to Buffalo!

Packages are ready for mailing

Hoping the small paint pot with glass medium survives the trip, did wrap it up in Saran Wrap..as well, put a few dabs of glitter on another piece. Of Saran Wrap

So in your package is

Mactac for circle
Pattern
Graphite to trace design
Glitter
Clear paint on glitter
Glass tile and medium
Cording for tying hat
Bell for decoration on hat
2 snowflakes, 1 for hat, one for top glove/mitt
Hey wait a minute, just in case sent extra snowflakes
Small piece of sponge

Think that does it!

Can you think of anything I may have missed?

We will set a workshop date for those who wish to participate

For those that can't again don't worry, lots of photo's will be added to the tutorial

Don't let me forget, want to give a bit more detail re placement of face
