Yes, but the really fine thing about it, is that we have stood our ground, shoulders squared and moved ahead with the knowledge and belief in who we are and what we stand for to our children and ourselves
I call that a win and then some. GRIN.
Best/Worse/What did I Learn today?chat with friends old/new
yup yup yup - we're stronger for it - let Them be dysfunctional, we'll stand strong. It may knock up on our butts for awhile, but we get back up and "kill 'em with kindness" lol
Morning all,
Watched the news, hope none were affected by the storm..know some of you are worried about family and friends, hope you hear from them...
Katie, how did you fare through it?
Nothing exciting on my agenda today, did get the fixings to make stuffed peppers, haven't had them for a bit
Feeling like I'm on top of things on the home front, nice feeling
Wish I could sleep though for more than 4 hrs.
Seem to go through periods of no sleep don't we
What are you all up to
Good morning. It's just after eight here now and I've been up for a while. Norm made bacon and eggs with toast, coffee and OJ for breakfast. Sure tasted good.
Now I'm doing my breathing machine and then it will be off to the quilt room for a while and then knitting.
I'm making a dog sweater with an Aran pattern on it. (Think Fishermen's knit sweaters with the patterns). Trying out the smallest size which will fit Stacy's MIL's puppy. Then I can get an idea of what will fit Stacy's puppy, Jake (from State Farm).
I was most fortunate in my MIL. She was a joy.
Waving hello to all and sending prayers to all in need. ~~~~~~~~~
Well it has made me or at least I hope it has, a good MIL. I try not to interfere or give advice unless I'm asked. My biggie is I don't play favorites. I was oldest but bottom of the totem pole as far as my parents were concerned, & hubby had a pretty rough row to hoe too. We determined to do better with ours and I think we have. We're very proud of our kids & grands.
It is overcast here but Patricia has been downgraded and seems to have moved on. Don't know how things are on the mainland. Pretty bad from what I've seen.
Inky Dink is haveing fun. We visited Dana and Tom and their three little dogs. It was funny to see the dogs competing for which of them sat on whose lap. With her improved diet Inky's coat is becoming very shiny. My other dogs still won't play with her but they only growl and occasionally snap. She prefers to teeth on my ankle support over her toys - my hand is also a favorite.
hugs, katie
Hi, Were back home nice and safe!
Praying people make it to safety.
We had a fabulous time.
Hands on the hips, this house is a mess AND they had the nerve to take Pegasus on their trip!
lol, back on the 28th.
lots to catch up on...will be back later.
Armwraps to all!
Marilynnne, have you heard from your cousin and wife about how they fared? katie
Waiting to hear some news .. am hoping all is well .. I can imagine communications out via computer/smartphones is non existent ..
LK .. how's things where you are ?
Have heard that TORONTO will be affected by your storm ..
Weird weather happenings ..
Pouring here, and cold ..
SWORE I saw Smokey in the chair this morning .. gawd, broke my heart .. AGAIN !!
I am a NON MIL .. DS and his family are not speaking to us because their daughter didn't see Smokey before he was put down .. now .. DGD is like her Mother, an ULTIMATE drama queen .. she sees Smokey perhaps 4 times a year .. all I needed (NOT) was her having a fit when she saw him suffering .. he couldn't be held as he lost his breath , and he was so weak, couldn't walk .. we went when we made the decision, and it was a toughie ..
So .. DH and myself have been cast to the side, and, labelled, 'mean and vicious' .. so be it ..
It hurts, but, DDinL has the upperhand, as always ..
and .. so it goes
Making brunch
~M~
We are doing fine here. It rained softly for about 2 hours. The gardens will love it.
So sorry to hear your DIL is like that "M".
Hugs "M" you surely don't need that kind of drama.
Dang, Marilynne, nothing like having people rub salt in the wounds. And I'd bet DGD would not have been very upset unless her parents encouraged her to make a drama out of the situation. So family dysfunction is passed on.
I've been playing in the dirt while Anita washes dishes. Neighbor Dana had the frame for a greenhouse which they brought down when they first moved here. It had plastic shelves and sides which promptly disintegrated in our hot sun. She asked if I wanted the frame. Tony and I got it this morning and set it up. It has wire shelves and is perfect for starting seeds and attending to small plants. Just what I needed as I just ordered more seeds from a person in Thialand. I got some seeds from him a month ago and they are all sprouting so, of course, I had to order more!!
Lots of work to do and at least a little energy to do it now that the weather has cooled. I have a little energy and am doing some fun stuff to alternate with the endless cleaning and organizing.
hugs, katie

Heading for the city .. going to get a TIMMIES :-)

~M~
May I have a sip "M"? I just love Timmies!!!!!
I would continue to "kill them all with kindness" and make them wonder what you are up to now.... Shame on her for hurting you like that. She needs a spanking is what.....
Unbelievable the not caring or understanding people's feelings
Shaking my head..be a long time before I was inviting
Likely had you not told them they would not even have noticed "M"
Katie, glad that you didn't incur any damage.lordy there must not be much land not planted ..how big is your land?
Judy welcome home, now tell me did you truly think you would come home to a tidy house??
Glad you had a great time.
Dianne, haven't seen you post in a bit, you and the furries ok? Weather causing you problems?
Imagine Deb will be heading home from Atlanta today, sure hope her trip was all she hoped for
Winds/rain and cold here
Enjoying a cooking day, who would have thunk. Lol
Was only going to make 4 stuffed peppers, 2 for tomorrow's din/din and 2 for the freezer so I wonder why I made enough of the inner fixings for about twelve?? Only had 5 green peppers left at foodland so will end up with 9
Just so relaxing fleeting from one thing to another
Tracing snowman faces for the workshop mits I will soon be sending out, did the mactac and the snowflakes this morning
Was just ready to get a piece ready to quilt and a knock knock at my door, Jehovah Witness, she stayed for about 15 minutes, nice young woman so listened to her
Oops best I go check on my cooking before I burn something
Karen, does my heart the world of good seeing those amazing smiles..
Oh happy days
M - I gather your DS is not talking to you either? He's obviously buying into your DDinL and DGD's drama - damn, eh? Well, you're better off without them is all I can say - you surely Don't need "salt in the wound". Your DGD seeing Smokey suffer would have been a drama, for sure! You were smart not to let that happen. She'd have been "having nightmares" or some such nonsense.....
HUGS to you, my dear.
hooray, Karen - they're HOME!! :-) I'll add my smiles to the group :-)
Mine too! Wonderful Karen!!!!!
Barb I meant to ask if you took photo's of the doggie's bed and the sweater pattern, guess I should try and make a sweater for Ned and Sophie otherwise I'm a bad grandma right?
Trying to decide wether I want left over Chinese food or stuffed peppers..sure smelling yummy!
Betty this is the place I found some patterns

Again, and, as always .. many thanks for your kind words ..
Lorna feels my D in L just JUMPED on this opportunity to set up a family rift .. as far as she is concerned, her family is the only family that counts ..
As Betty said, be a LONG time before I'll let this go .. Murray should be ashamed really, but, then again, he's the one who has to live with her ..
Karen .. what an awesome picture :-)
Enjoy time spent with your family >.
Barb .. the Timmies was so good ..always a treat ..
Betty .. and Barb .. happy jacket making for the furries :-)
Judy, how was the trip? CLEAN house on return home .. HAH .. nice dream tho :-)
Sun came out, think we're going out for a ride on the Mule .. better dress war, only in the high 40s ..
