Keep hearing the 'S' word here, but, none so far ..
What a shame re your friends Aunt .. condolences for sure ..
Susan .. I sure do hope that the tenants do not damage your home out of spite!
Good to hear from you Judy .. busy busy as always ..
Thanks for the new room Betty .. NO SNOW ALLOWED in here LoL
First morning without 'my shadow', Smokey .. he is always usually with me .. purring away .. breaks my heart ..
I plan to rest today (Ya right) ! .. seems I have a dandy chest cold complete with sore throat and runny eyes ..
Have to be careful because of the drug (shots) I get .. so ..am drinking tea and honey ..

Sorry you are unwell "M", could be run down because you were fretting so and it ran your system down..make it a couch day today. Gord leaves today?
Hoped we would get at least one or two more threads before seeing white stuff, nothing planned for the weekend so that is a plus..had thought of going to Barrie to fabricland but it can wait.
Hard to believe your getting ready for snow already.
Hope you are feeling better soon "M".
Gentle hugs to you "M".
Temps here are dipping quite low also. Soon it will be stay in the house time. I really don't like winter anymore!!!!
Got my flu shot yesterday and my arm is still sore. Easy day today I guess. I finished a purse yesterday - two more to make and then my time is my own.
Last day of work for a week. So much to get done before I leave. It seems empty at home without Willow there. I think the distraction of the trip will do me good, though.
They are predicting a frost for tonight, and I still have plants to bring inside. I'm hoping I can move them back out before I leave. Some need repotting before they're in for good, and there just isn't time. Being sick last week, then everything with Willow this week, meant a lot of things just didn't happen when they should.
Deb, safe travels and try to enjoy the show
The plants will either survive or not, could bring them in and if weather permits take them out and repot when you get home?? think you need 'Deb' time, that its 1st on your list.
Barb, now you know once they get their purses and others see them you will get orders and that will fill in your long winter days. Time to stock up as though you don't have enough fabric to keep you going but then it's fpdifferent if you make and sell or take orders for specific colours.lhow is your friend upstairs doing with her sewing, you were teaching her right?
Lindakay, any news from the kids re their dad?
Think weather liars have given a wrong forecast, it's absolutely beautiful out there, sun shinning and all the colours in trees and on the ground..hmmm might be the calm before the storm.
Going to try and finish Matilda today as I want to give a good cleaning in craft room and replace all the table coverings, here is hoping.
My guys are packing the car to go play with cannons. I had them bring in my Hibiscus before they leave as the "S" word is being bandied about here also. It had to be trimmed severly as it had a very good time outside this summer, there were still blooms and buds on it.
I had a bad time last night trying to sew on the binding on a QOV. Scares me that I had only sewed for a few minutes before my hands cramped into claws and refused to straighten up. I used to be able to rest them a massage them a bit and go on.
My old body is betraying me more and more. Yesterday we walked just a block up the road and I couldn't make it back for the cramping in my legs, hubby had to get the car. I'm trying so hard to keep moving but.....
Worry some for sure Karen..have you tried the hand wax where you dip your hands in?? When mine are aching I do it for several days and the heat seems to help the old bones..
I haven't gone through a 5th of what you've gone through and most days I see the difference..mine works but talk about achy.
Will the men be gone just for the day or is it for the weekend?
On thanksgiving the guys were talking about a winter camping weekend, maybe on the snow caves that form on Georgian bay..I asked which weekend I could do something like that with my boys, now why did both laugh asking me how I liked sleeping in -30 outside, if I thought I could then yep it's a go lol
Just swept up, amazing how much dirt/dust accumulates when there is just Missy and I in the house..laundry put away, banking done , few more things out away for winter, brought in a large geperanium, will enjoy flowers before I cut it down..and now it's time to play.
I do have a hot wax bath that I use from time to time. Guess I'll have to use it more.
Guys are gone for the week-end. They shoot cannons off Harson's Island in Lake St. Clair. They wait for this time of year as there is not likely to be any boat traffic. Of course it also means it will be cold and most likely rainy. This they call fun. They set up a boat target and take turns shooting at it. They will break for a gourmet dinner arranged by the Commodor. Then back out for a few night fires. They don't shoot cannonballs at night, just big booms and flashes of fire. Back to the cottages for "gaming" and sampling of various vintages.
At least this year, I didn't have to make more powder bags, I made tons last year. Next year, they will most likely need more.
We get the "caves" on Lake Michigan too. I'm content to look at photos as I cannot see myself hiking 1/2 mile or more on the ice to view in person.
Karen, are you on a blood thinner .. warfarin/coumadin? It causes cramping .. Lorna will be eating supper, her fork will drop, and, her hand in one big cramp ..lasts a good long time too .. she drinks Gatorade daily and it seems to help with the leg cramps ..
Just cleaned Smokey's litterbox, and now am going take the set of 'pet steps' we have out to the garage .. I swear this is just a total killer ..
All his stuff is prety new, am thinking of perhpas donating it, or selling it .. will call the Humane Society and see if they can use the pet carrier and litterbox, perhaps the stairs as well ..
Back entrance way to the house is totally botched with PINE NEEDLES !!! .. me and the vacuum are real good buds ..
Sneezes coming on .. drikning, tea, weak bladder and sneezing, nota happy mix'
~M~
The only one I take now is a low dose aspirin. My blood is already pretty thin and I bleed and bruise easily, maybe because of the leukemia. I know old skin does that anyhow. I always have cuts & bruises that I have no idea how they got there. I take magnesium daily, my potassium is fine.
Think there might come a day when the pups will use the stairs? I'm sure humane society would be happy to have donations. I take old towels and blankets to ours.
Our water is so full of rust that even with a softener and filters, things get rust stained. Now you would think I'd be smart enough to get rust colored towels wouldn't you? But no I keep buying white, just asking for it.
Just wanted to let you all know that my ex just passed. He is not suffering anymore. Thanks for all the support and prayers.
our lawyer is finally filing our lawsuit today. hopefully this will be over soon.
Linda , so sorry, but at least he isn't suffering. Condolences to your sons.
Thank you.
Hugs to your sons Linda, this is hard for them.
Thanks so much.
Lindakay, condolences to your family and bumping hugs for you, am sure you are hurting big time and remembering the good times.
"m" do you think you will never want a kitty again? Maybe store them for a tad then if you decide to donate the pet shelter will be thrilled to get Smokey's treasures.
Kathy, here is hoping your lawyer can get some results.
Karen when I lived on the lake I had to put a system drawing from the lake because all my clothes were damaged after first wash..sorted to put a tsp of 'iron out' and that helped but hard in clothes
Sure did a number on zinc and tug..had to make sure I wore a mask when cleaning. Try the hand water for a bit each day and see if it helps any. Think I will take mine out as well.
Just confirming date of trip to Buffalo, want to make sure all can make the same weekend..I'm pretty well finished with Xmas, just would like to shop a bit at Joann's
Lunch time, heard micro beep, have my witchy poo sandwhich ex and ready to quilt this afternoon so right on target..like it when a plan comes together.
Prayers and positive thoughts for your sons and you Linda .. and, a hope that your ex passed free from want or worry and is able to continue along oh his new journey ..
It'll take a bit to process all this, but, in the end, your sons will be happy to have been with him ..
Having probs with my blasted email .. won't stay 'open' anymore than 10 minutes, maybe a titch more.
I use WindowsLive Mail 2012 .. not my choice, came with the laptop .. itching to uninstall then re install it .. but, am worried my settings would be fubarred !!
Zoey has an upset and rumbly tummy .. wouldn't take the yogurt .. actually, all 3 dogs are roaming around here bummed out .. course, I keep having crying jags, so, that's no help.
DH is well on his way west to the gun show/sportsmans show .. gonna share HIS cold .. why stop with just me LoL
Wondering how Dianne and Debbie are doing ..
Sharon .. loved the wedding pics .. :-)
The vacuum awaits me ..

Betty funny thing here with the wells, across the street at our rental not 500 feet away the water is totally different. We don't need a softener and my niece swore the water cured her warts, The acid in the water I guess.
"M" I'll bet the dogs are picking up on your upset, they do that for sure. Cuddle with them and cry it'll help you all.
Thanks everyone. The boys are taking this hard. But they also know that he is not suffering anymore.
Will hit them later Lindakay...
Am sure the digs are picking up that you are upset about something..
Hope you can beat this cold, Greg said he is just starting to feel better.
Karen was the same at home, mega rock, just depending on a rock fracture determined if you had good/bad water..I didn't mind lake water..had to put a heated coil though so we would have water during the winter..always easy to reconnect to well should lake pump go down
Thought some of you might find this interesting, cripes, looks like I might even be able to manage it LoL

I saw those "M" they would be great and soooo warm. Hit the thrift stores for sweaters.
There was a workshop that came in last week showing similar, had lining, forget what they are called
Yep, sure would be easier than knitting them and what a way to recycle "M"
Why don't we try one. Lol
Thanks for sharing
Prayers, Thoughts, and Blessings to all in need - those who've lost their furbabies, a human in their life, and all others too
Yeah, I hope they don't damage the home either. We didn't do a walk-through and put anything in writing...... foolish us - new landlords and trusted them!!! Wished now that we'd gotten references.......that might have been helpful too.
If I have to spend a week cleaning, I don't mind that, but paying for damage to the hot tub or anything electrical could be very costly to us.
So very sorry for the lost pets. Always so painful. My dogs mourned when we lost Ginger, the dog and Izzy the cat. But when we got the new kittens, they just welcomed them and they actually sleep on the bed together. But in the middle of the night one of the cats will leave the bed then both dogs run and case her. Drives us crazy. The two cats we have know were 2 in September. Vern and I laughed so hard the first year because they were totally inseparable and adorable. And they were not even related. When we went to the animal shelter, Vern wanted one and I wanted a different one. So we decided to get two. Best decision we ever made.
Linda, so sorry for your loss. My children lost their father when they were 11 and 12 from heart disease. They are very attentive to me making sure I do not disappear like him. You will probably notice the same thing.
Betty, so proud of you being so far ahead for Christmas. All I do is write checks, so mine is easy. I am with you with our treasures. I did put them away, but I brought them right back out after the party.
I am feeling much better now that I am back on my antidepressants, even though I went on a lower dosage.
I am sitting in my favorite chair on the back patio watching a very light rain and temps are in mid 70s. . Big time rain suppose to come in later in the day. I had a cup of coffee with whipped cream and all of my chores are done so I need to get moving and do something. I took the dogs for a walk in the rain this morning, because they were not going into the back landscape to go potty, but they will walk for miles in the rain. I just put on yesterday clothes, walked them and then came home and took my shower and curled my hair.
Vern has moved from the walker to the wheelchair. He was just falling down, backwards, too much. We have an appointment with the neurologist on the 26th. About every other day his lips are blue. Neurologist noticed but did not say anything but did order a blood test. My granddaughter that got married commented that grandpa's lips were blue. I looked yesterday and they were fine.
Susan, hopefully all will be fine in the end and this nightmare will just go away.
Is Vern having poor circulation? Kind of sounds like it. Could be causing the falling too.
Bet the temps dropped by 10 degrees these past few hours
Andrew my plow man sent his brother who is in landscaping business over o look at the yard.
He will come with a few men and equipment and get the leaves done. He has 2 riders with hoppers so says they will come 3 or 4 times and do the yard, only problem is the snow, he is hoping we will get a few dumps of it, will cause more leaves to fall then melt..
So here is hoping, would be nice not thinking about all the leaves on the ground come spring.
Sharon, does indeed sound like lack of oxygen in the blood..a worry for you for sure.
Thrilled that the meds are helping, good to a enjoy life again! You are watching for light rain and I for snow, trade you.
Think I'm ready for Jammies, raisin bread toast and a cup of hot chocolate
"M" this was the site that I looked at re mitts

Thank you, Sharon - glad to hear you're doing better on your anti-depressants, at a lower dose.
Thank you for your thoughts re: our nightmare, too
Today Bob & I went for a walk, sans cane, around the block. I want to build my knees up again, to where I'll be able to move again (both physically, and from one home to another), with more flexibility. Every day, one or two walks, is what I'm hoping for. Feeling better now that I've not moved since July, with all the stress on my knees
M, sending big hugs your way. Try to remember all the happy times with Smokey.
LK, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad the boys were with him and that he didn't linger for months.
Sending hugs and prayers for all of you.
Thanks so much Joyce ..
Tough pat right now is, I keep seeing him, or hearing him .. I'm sure Deb is going through the same thing ..well ..all of us do ..
Goin horizontal, maybe Criminal Minds will take my mind away from other things :-)
TOODLES
~M~
Just catching up....
M - so sorry to hear of Smokey's passing, but you are right...it was time. Doesn't stop
the hurt at all.
Same for Willow....so sorry to hear you lost your little buddy.
Prayers for Noah.
Linda Kay so sorry for your Ex husband & boys also.
Hugs and prayers to alllll of you.
Debbie
Coughing/sneezing .. stuffed up/runny nose .. kinda think this is going to be a boring Saturday for me ACHOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo
~M~
You are run down "M" likely why you've caught a cold..take the weekend to rest!
Debbie nice to see you drop in, how are you feeling you all doing? Shannon and Shane feeling better?
I listened to the wind howling during the night, still in bed watching tv, guess I should get up and see if the ground is white
Safe travels Deb
Lindakay how are the boys doing?
Boys are doing really well. They are relieved that their Dad is not suffering now.
When will the service take place?
No snow, reprieve at least for now..makes for such a long winter when it start in October/November
I have about 1/2 he left of decorating Matilda with vine pumpkin and leaves..already did the binding then I'm free for the weekend so I've decided to clean and organize my craft room again, a constant ongoing chore..
Will add 1 upstairs closet and the rest of the time will be for playing/resting
