I am packing for the last trip.
We just celebrated our 35 anniversary of the day we fell in love.
It's been a crazy bittersweet couple of weeks.
Dianne, a best friend, her eldest son passed away on my Mom's anniversary.
We went to his service. This was very odd and we were in emotional turmoil.
He was just a year younger then Julia. Only 24 years old, he has a 2 yo daughter and another due anytime now. Very sad situation.
Dianne and Bill are going on this cruise with us. They have been looking forward to this badly need vacation.
Yesterday was Carol (Bear's) Anniversary, I spent the day sewing and just moving in slow quiet motion.

But!! It has been one year of the start of the great cleanup! I did it! Everything was done by Saturday. We had Julia's future in-laws for a bbq and fire. I have to say it was a great gathering. Not only that, my niece Roxie and Nephew Hunter surprised us with an impromptu visit. it was great because she is in the wedding. She is going to put us in touch with a photographer. We had a great visit.
As I was saying, it is all done...I even got done with all the snowflake blocks and got them in the mail. I didn't include any notes, lol that would have put another hold. But I have now mailed stuff, I should have a while ago.
...well there is always craft project to catch up on, and yippy now I can work on the backlog!!

Not a day went by that you all were in my thoughts and prayers.
Well, this computer doing funny irritating stuff so I'm just going hit send.

Dozed off on most of the afternoon, got up at 7pm to call it a night and talked myself out of it so downstairs I went to perform a hairdo for Matilda the witch so now I'm going to try this sleep thing

Marilyn, so sorry about Smokey. I went in the room when I had to put Ginger down. My son and myself. It was very lovely. She was panting and having such a hard time breathing and then just silently closed her eyes and went to sleep. My son and I sat there and talked to her for over 15 minutes. We were on the floor with her, they brought in a blanket for her to lie on and I am glad we did it. The worst part of the whole thing was making the appointment and going there. The procedure was actually lovely, no other way to describe it.

I have been working on getting my home back in order. So many thing on the kitchen counters were put someplace to have them out of the way and now I need to find them. My treasures were clutter in my daughter's eyes. And she did not say a word, I just know how she thinks. And she did say, "The house looked great Mom".

She has been working with granddaughter Hannah all week on her wedding in December. Hannah leaves for Kansas City, MO with her and her dad driving a u-haul towing her car. Hannah starts a new job in Kansas city Wednesday and they have an open house for other granddaughter in Newport, CA on Saturday. Hannah's fiancee lives in Kansas City while going to medical school.

My poor daughter will be crazy when December 19th rolls around. My daughter and her family are Mormon and granddaughter that just got married and Hannah who is getting marred will be married in the LDS Temple. My daughter converted when in high school. They have a wonderful life and I have no problem with it.

Betty I am sure the roast will freeze well. I am going to buy another roast and make it and do just that. I never thought about making turkey TV dinners. I need to buy a turkey when they go on sale and do that.

I hope Willow is OK. Enjoy your trip.

Katie, a new house helper is a great thing. Hope you are feeling better. Clouds have started to move in so we will see if we get rain. We were still in the 90's today.

It is my bed time. I have gardeners coming tomorrow to trim back a Sumac tree. About a 40' tree. Not a small job.

My neighbor's lemon tree is totally loaded. I am going to take a photo tomorrow. I will post a photo.

Wishing you strength today "M". Willow crossed the bridge yesterday. I had him do xrays and bloodwork, because I just needed to know what was going on with her. She had lung cancer, and there were no other options.

With the cooler temps our trees are showing their bright colours.

Hugs Deb, I wondered when you posted do no mention of the vets visit that it may have been bad news..although overwhelming I'm sure you have some console that Willow no longer suffers. You would have been so worried while on your trip that all was not well.

Know where you are coming from re your treasures, am sure my family think same..I did try once to pack everything up for the minimal look and it just wasn't me so out it came.i strive for the country look, think I've reached it lol

I did much as you did with Ginger, watched Sailor cross over, actually helped the process of healing no longer seeing her panting for every breath..she looked up at one point and I'm sure she was saying thank you..

So sorry to hear that Willow is gone over the Rainbow Bridge. Willow will be healthy and happy though........

Marilynne - Smokey is peaceful now.

Prayers for both of your families - never easy to lose a friend and loved one.

I have some tentative good news.
Heard from a lawyer that what we have is a periodic lease with Marcel & Carolyn and we can serve notice Nov 1 for them to vacate Jan 31st (3 months) as we're going to move back in.
Mind you, if they don't pay rent on Nov 1st we can serve them 2 week's notice for "habitual non-payment of rent"............ on Nov 2nd.
If they refuse to vacate either date, we may have to go to court (one week later or so - they hear these cases every Friday) to get a court order to evict them with the Police in attendance.

Hugs "M" know you are hurting, difficult for Gord I'm sure

Let's hope it works out Susan, never heard of a periodic lease before, wonder what made the lease 'periodic'?

Had a nap now I have to kick myself off the couch or I will not sleep tonight.

Ohh almost forgot this is Thursday and the gals come tonight, did need that nap after all

I dunno, Betty - just know that a lawyer and someone from Residential Tenancy both said it was a Periodic Lease. I'm going with the law :-)

Susan, gives you some hope..in some ways you have to hope that they don't pay November rent, would be nice to be home for Christmas..won't be the same though seeing they've spread a lot of untruths in the park..long road ahead of you.

Janice called at 6pm, her aunt (more like a sister) passed away today so she is not coming, her aunt said she's been quite tired, went into the hospital Sat. Found out she had aggressive lukemia and passed a few days later, so sad!

Maria is out of town so Rita called and said why not leave it until next weekend..ok with me, was tired so now I can go make sure iron/sewing machine are off and call it a day.

oooooh so sorry to hear about her aunt passing away - it must be a shock to everyone, it happening so quickly!
