I am trying. This ordeal is taking so much longer than I thought. I can't get past
it all and the pain is consuming me.

Took myself out to take some fall photos today and tomorrow, hitting the road to do the same.
Is only thing I can wrap my mind around right now.

I am limited what I can and can't say....but just know you are a big help to me.

Shaking my head at your neighbors, my new ones are NOT much better. Property
value has gone down BIG time in the 3 months since they moved in. Looks like a
trash heap next store.

Having some rain moving in I think, hope it clears before tomorrows outing. Possible trip to Watkins Glen, I have never been.

Dianne, lots of gentle hugs....hoping Dentist gets to the easy fix on this. DD has same issue, I take her Monday for getting tooth pulled as they want $1200 for root canal and neither insurance will cover it. Has to have major gum work also.....she has same damage as you
from radiation and chemo.

So sorry about your neighbors Kathy. There is no excuse for people like that.....

And asking for prayers for my brother. Four years ago the VA sent him to Boston for a PET scan due to lung problems. He was told there was a small mass but that it wasn't cancer. He is back in the hospital now with a lung infection and his doctor pulled up the scan from then and it showed that he did indeed have lung cancer and now he has gone four years with no treatment for it. He is so weak and so thin. He has little to no strength to try to cough to clear his lungs.
And of course, since it is through the VA he has no recourse. I don't know if I am more frightened or angry......

Barb, I am sorry to hear about your brother. Sending lots of prayers for all.

((((Barb))) It is amazing what doctors can get away with. It is a painful situation no matter
what. I ran into same problem when doc made major mistake in my spine and nerve damage and nothing I could do about it...coming out not walking. "You signed release papers before surgery".

Watkins Glen is a beautiful place, Debbie. A friend spent a week at the state park taking pictures...beautiful water falls and Lake Seneca(? I think that's right) was so serene. I do hope you get to go there.

I seem to be on an emotional/energy roller coaster. Virtually no energy but I'm not in much pain - other than the usual arthritis - and I am grateful for that,

Tony and I are taking turns working on the front garden. Lots of clean-up after all the rain we've had and now it's a little cooler it's easier to work.

Barbara may be here tomorrow for more glasswork. Dana will be here in about ten days and she's bringing a glass hole drill and glass sandpaper. Meanwhile, I keep finding more glass pieces to wash.

Sharon, glad you are feeling better. I tend to take my meds for a while then slack off. I've been taking them steadily for about six weeks now and I think they help - a little. Hard to tell but I promised my doctor I would make an effort to stay on them. He's happy with me because my blood sugar is down and I don't have to take diabetes medicine. My weight is down a little but that may be just because I'm too tired to fix much food.

Max bit me twice today. I think he's jealous of Inky Dink. He didn't draw blood but it was scarey. He's such a tough little guy; I got a pillow between us but he could really hurt me. I've raised all the others since they were puppies and they've always known me and never been really threatened and had to defend themselves. Max was a town street dog in his earliest years and will attack if he feels threatened. And I think He's afraid he'll lose my love to Inky Dink.

Dinner for the dogs is almost ready. Back later.

Finished my steroids today and I am rather wired....so hope I can sleep.

Newest thing from our tenants - they say they attempted to pay the rent, but that I must have rebuked it (?!?!?!?!?!) so she will try again tomorrow, when she gets back into the city.
Oh, and again a call to "install the stove"...... (what install? move it into place, plug it in......).
And says the stove isn't working. (It was "new" from the ReStore, and checked out before they sold it - with a 30 day guarantee - rather odd that 2 stoves should mysteriously "break" in 1 month, with an electrician in the house, eh?)

Much happier Dianne here this morning. Doc pulled the tooth. There was a large abscess pressing against the nerve. Doc did the procedure during his lunch hour. Thank you so much for your prayers and positive thoughts.

Will be back later need to get my recycle up the lane.

Kathy - we're in this together with you - prayers that justice is meted out to the Correct people - your neighbours. I can't imagine what you & your daughter went through, getting arrested! Some people....

Sure hope all goes well for them, and, that justice is served ..

DH asked to be shown how to make a banana loaf, so, I gave him the recipe, and, walked him through it .. smells wonderful ..
So odd to watch as he's a 'lefty' ...

Smokey had some lunch and now asleep ... how I wish he'd just let go .. poor lil guy .. if he were in pain I would have had 'IT' done, but, he isn't ..

Don't know that there is justice, I think of the young man charged, his poor family..think of mine has coped (at times not)..jail really won't fix all those hurts.

Been a long day, been laying on the chesterfield watching tv,watched same movie twice, quilted a bit, about 1/2 done the hockey quilt and that is about it

Have a shopping list made up, I'll make pies Saturday so they will be fresh for thanksgiving dinner Sunday, no fussing around, just enjoy the meal

Update on my ex. Both of my boys are with him. He went to the hospital Monday to get his chemo treatment and they told him his lab results showed he was having problems, so they admitted him for observation. Early Tuesday morning he flatlined so they had to use the paddles to bring him back. That is when they moved him to ICU. He is in the process as I type of getting fluids drained to relieve some of the pressure off his chest. Right now he is on a ventilator to help him breath. I will know more later this evening.

Betty, hope the courts can find a solution that is amenable for both Noah and family and perhaps can work to rehabilitate the young man that attacked Noah. Such a difficult time for all of you.

LK, continued good thoughts for your sons and their father. So good they have the opportunity to
mend fences.

Dianne, glad the dentist was able to take care of the problem. Are you taking antibiotics for the abcess?

Lindakay, they had the trial and sentencing is today unless there is a battle between youth and adult court..family just want to see the end of court.

I will pray for a good outcome in court, in Noah's favor!

Guess there is no good outcome..Mel and Greg have been in court every few weeks for months now, they could do with it ending.

Sitting patiently, need to go to foodland for a few groceries, watch them call then.

Dianne, how did you make out at the dentist?

This was not the trial for the young lad that stabbed Noah, it was for one of the other boys who tried to hide evidence.

He did plead guilty, he arrived after the stabbing, the other two boys told him what happened, showed him the knife, he touched it and then his finger prints were on it so he hid it

He got 1 year 1 year in jail and 1 probation

Because he was in jail for a year, wasn't but they count jail time in a ridiculous manner, they let him out on probation today..

I had it wrong thought they would all be sentenced today but they set a full length trial for the lad who did the stabbing.

Sorry that you all continue this unhappy time. Keeps it sharp in everyone's mind. HUGS.

One of these days, we'll look back at this time and wonder how anyone ever made it through. Melanie, Greg & Noah will see that time, although it sure seems a long way off now......

Start of our long weekend, end of summer...time to put the gardens to bed

Weatherman says rain this morning then high of 52 today,57 tomorrow,66 Sunday and 72 Monday..all and all a good weekend to get things done a d at a slow pace

Won't be long I will see the homes up the street as all the leaves will have fallen, my favourite season fall and yet a sad time.

My hydro bill tends to up as I put every light in the house on, open the doors to get more light, seems to beat the blues away

When Janice was here sewing last night she came upstairs and ohh'd and ahh'ed at all the Halloween decor and asked when I put Christmas decor out..usually when Halloween gets put away..

I remember Starr (DG Canadian member) because seldom anyone went into her basement she left it decorated all year round, was so cozy when I visited. Her gardens were outstanding..often think of her

Just going to make my 2nd cup of coffee then head downstairs..want to have the hockey quilt quilted and binding on it so I have something to hand sew tonight.

This afternoon I'll get groceries done, baking day tomorrow

Other than that a relaxing weekend.

Minds jumping from thinking to thing this morning as you can see

Morning everyone. Not much sleep here either. I have been on the phone with both of them several times, trying to calm them down. They are both so worried about their Dad. They drained 3 liters of fluid from him, and he feels better, due to the pressure of the fluids gone. He still has an irregular heartbeat, and his kidneys are not working. They are waiting on the Dr. to give them results from the MRI, and what they plan to do, if they can do anything. The Dr. told him, that if it is a tumor, they can't do much with his heart like it is.

My 'day off' today .. never a day OFF ..
I am sitting here with Smokey laying on the chair beside me .. he is restful and calm ..
Have laundry on the go to hang out, and, plan to make pie dough, and, that is IT ..

The dogs are feeling my angst .. and I am torn by this decision .. I keep thinking Smokey will know on the trip to the vets, it's the ONLY time he is crated, I was going to hold him on the way there, but, DH feels it's a bad idea in case he gets agitated .. something to think about .. for the vet to come here and put Smokey down is over $500.

Cool day .. windy too .. but, sunny .. am going o try and take out one perennial bed, TRY .. always afraid I'll dig up something important ..

Sharon .. hope all went well with the dress, have fun this weekend ..

Lindakay, some hard decisions for sure for your boys and their dad..my dad didn't last more than a few days once they started to remove fluids..feeling as sick as he was he was ready for his journey, just slept away!

You never know "M" smokey might just be relieved he's going to the vets and not get upset going in the cage..

With all this overcast and rain am hoping that Sharon is the one with sunshine..bet she is excited as can be having all the family with her.

Can't believe it's only 10am.

Thinking about all of you. Prayers for LK and Barb.

As long as Smokey isn't in pain I'd enjoy having him there. He might slip away in his sleep when he's ready.

I'm listening to the Blues Brothers and remembering when I had the energy to dance.

I've had a low-energy week. No big pain or drama. Inky Dink wakes me up each morning and we play while Max and Twink grump.

Katie, thanks so much for your kind thought re Smokey ..
He got down form the chair just a bit ago, had some food and water, AND, are ya ready for this .. almost a HALF a small container of Greek yogurt (vanilla) .. now he's back beside me and ready for a nap, until Ma Nature calls ..
He does not have pain (that I can see) his breathing on exertion is laboured .. otherwise he sleeps or watches the world go by with his good eye ..
I do pray he will go in his sleep ..

LK .. hows things with your sons and their Dad .. sure a toughie, and Barb .. any word on your brother?

Please keep my ex and my boys in your prayers. They are moving him to hospice, as there is nothing more they can do. Stage 4 cancer is growing fast. My boys need prayers for strength please?

Will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers..having experienced it with my boys when their dad died was not easy, overwhelming for everyone, including you Lindakay..hugs

Part is in the back wiper so will get that done before shopping

LK .. Hospice will provide your boys with much needed support . the nurses are trained not only to provide care for the dying patient, but, also the distressed family members ..
