Beautiful windows, Joyce!

LK - I too hope he passes peacefully and easily. It would be difficult for young ones to visit their grandpa for the first & last time when he's so unwell......

Our landlords gave us some fried turkey nuggets last night. Haven't had them yet, but they look interesting. Wonder if they deep fried them in peanut oil?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well it's nice placed there Joyce, sure hope Sherry was able to drop off her piece to have pane replaced

Susan you've plenty to eat for sure, leftovers from your turkey and now nuggets..sounds interesting.

I have a turkey in the oven but won't be out until 8pm or so, just enough time to set it out to cool, in the meantime pick up something easy for supper.

Missy has decided she doesn't like canned food, 3 days in a row I've had to throw it out so need to go pick up kitty food and treats

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes, leftovers from last night, and some turkey nuggets.
I love yams, and dressing - yummmmm!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Imagine, bought a t.v. Dinner for supper
Tomorrow I'll feast. Lol

Lordy, didn't wear a coat to grocery storm, with light rain and winds I froze..I'd better remember it's time to dress warmly

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Brrrrrrrrrrr, here as well .. had to bring Lorna her track pants this morning at the cemetery .. she called me and said she was freezing .. only live 7 minutes away, but, about hit a buck deer on the way there .. woke me right up so it did !

Waiting to hear from Deb .. looks like tomorrow or Thursday for Smokey ..
He is eating and drinking, but, his poor wee body is givng up ,,, he's skeletal like .. and his back left leg won't hold him ..
He sits here beside me letting me pet him, and,it is heart breaking ,, but his resps are way rapid .. any excursion and he is in distress ..
Wish his angel would come in the night ..

Love all the pretties Joyce ..

Enjoy supper Susan ..

best see to dinner

Got to watch the wildlife at this time of year..each time I take the back concessions I'm watching big time..thank goodness you didn't hit one "M" as they can do mega damage to not only to you but the vehicle.

Joyce, got a lovely than you card from Kathy, nice note, made me tears eyed and gave me a laugh. Lol

I was glad I stopped into the post office, got a snowflake block from Barb, so pretty

Didn't go as far as Midland, was tired so wood can wait.

Cut out hair for my witch and I decided I don't want to be hairdresser today, I will do her hair tomorrow then only a few borders and I can appliqué and quilt her..tempted to do both at same time, getting lazy in my old age.

I am here and last guest left by plane this afternoon. Wedding was Saturday morning, lunch at my home afterward for out of town guests. I actually ran out of food and I had a lot of food. Then reception was at 7pm on Saturday evening at Sienna County Club and the weather was perfect. Everyone had a great time. Over 200 hundred guests. Sarah and Adam left for Hawaii Sunday. They will return to California Friday night with an open house at his parents venue then they drive back to Vegas on Sunday, stop, get gas and then they and the rest of the Ballard family are driving a caravan to Provo to deliver a new bedroom set and many wedding gifts. Then Hannah, the older sister, who got engaged this Sunday and her dad are driving to Kansas City, MO to deliver Hannah's furniture and car. Her fiancee is going to medical school in Kansas City and Hannah has accepted a job there. She has an apartment and he is living with a family. They will be getting married December 19th.

So did you get all of that. Let me tell you, when I crawled into bed Saturday night late, might have even been Sunday morning, there was not a bone or muscle in my body that was not screaming. By Monday I was back to normal.

My garden was beautiful, house outstanding, my daughter did an outstanding job and everything was outstanding.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

First photo is bride and groom. Second photo is Todd, Heather and Luke at the reception.
Third photo is My brother Pat on the left, his wife, Diane standing, my sister Bobbie Jo and me.
My brother Jimmy and his wife Francie are on a cruise from New York to Alaska.

Forth photo is Hannah saying yes to Michael's proposal. Brother was hiding in the bushes and took the photo and a video.

So nice to hear all went well for the newly weds and for you Sharon. A house full of wedding guests/family takes a lot of work. Congrats to the newlyweds, and also to your newly engaged granddaughter.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I copied that from Back Porch and then tried to catch up with you guys. Life should get back to normal now.

Betty, are you feeling better. I hope so because you are so busy, you wouldn't slow down anyway.

Marilyn, so sorry about Smokey. Very hard part about having pets. But just think of all of the joy over all of the years. Poor Lorna. We are still 92 degrees and 94 degrees tomorrow but a storm is moving this way and suppose to cool down by Thursday.

Susan, sounds like things are a little calmer.

Joyce, love you blue pot and window. I tried your roast and it was delicious. I cooked it in my cast iron pot in the oven because I do not have a crock pot. I had some left over and when we ran out of food for the after wedding lunch, we pulled it out, sliced it and served it. The gravy was out of this world.

Linda, so sorry about your ex. I am with everyone else. May his passing be peaceful and quick. Hugs for your children and grandchildren.

A new puppy is a great birthday present but I am to old for a new puppy, I do not care their size. I will always have cats but these are our last dogs.

My sister came on Wednesday, without her husband, and did not leave until this afternoon. We had a wonderful visit. Other granddaughter is getting married December 19th and she is coming again without her husband. He watches TV all of the time and cannot get the remote away from Vern so he has decided he will stay home, watch his own TV and watch their dog an cat. OK by me.

I am back to schedule so should be able to post more. But be sure I am always lurking. Hugs, Sharon

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Cross Post. Thanks. How is everything going?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Things are calmer, but not settled yet.
Bob helped as much as he can, with the RV they had an accident in this summer (they were fine, but the RV got damaged). The undercarriage is bent, so they can't do anymore. Once it's professionally fixed, she says she wants to sell it. Maybe get another one that's smaller because their boys don't like roughing it (no wifi?!?!? o my heavens!! lol)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,
just loved reading about the wedding Sharon while having my coffee
What beautiful people, so photogenic. Can only imagine how tired you were, makes for a few long days..no doubt your yard and gardens were breathtaking.
Great to spend time with family. Now where will the dec 19th wedding be, she sure looked surprised!

Ohh Kathy had you been asking for a furry..photo please

Susan, who'se Rv was in the accident?? Did I miss that??

Cool this morning, turned up the furnace, it's 43 feels like 39 brrrr
I checked and last year we had snowNov7th, remember now, there was a skim on the steps, I slid, broke two rungs on my way down the stairs, was when we were going to Buffalo shopping with the girls. So that only weeks away, can't imagine all these leVes raked by then.

Well best I get carving that Turkey and make TV dinners and get soup on

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Sorry to hear Smokey is moving a little closer to the rainbow bridge, "M". Willow's appointment is at 1 this afternoon. She ate a pork chop last night, and half a can of dog food, this morning, nothing would interest her. I'm really praying that maybe she as an infection or something going on and that some antibiotics will make things better. I know, the way things are going, it may just buy us a little time, but I'll take whatever time I can. She's still going outside, she manages the 6 stairs OK, slowly, but she does OK, and she still has to check out the fridge when she comes in to see if anything might strike her fancy. If she was just laying, and not interested in what's going on, making "the decision" would be easier, so I'm hoping the vet has some suggestions to keep her going, and get her eating.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Deb, here is hoping you will have good news from vet..Willow although failing seems to be holding her own. Options options that is what you need..am sure it's getting you down with the thoughts of your leaving for a bit..what day do you leave??

Missy has decided no food I give her suits her fancy, Lordy offered her turkey this morning, she sniffed it and walked away, even tried treats..must be a phase she is going through.

Still in my nighty, turnip and potatoes are cooking while soup is simmering

Once I make TV dinners I can go downstairs and play..wouldn't mind doing some raking but body is saying it's not up to it so I will wait in hopes that I can find someone to do it.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Yes, definietly hoping for some options!
I'm leaving Saturday and will be gone a whole week. Probably won't leave until early afternoon on Sat, drive 300 miles or so before stopping, hoping to get in to Atlanta by late afternoon on Sunday. The dog show starts on Monday evening and runs through Thursday, and two more specialty shows on Friday, then head home the morning of the 24th. I've been looking forward to this for the past year. Hoping for good options for Willow, so I can really enjoy myself.
Sissy has a vet appt tomorrow for an ultrasound, hoping that is positive, too! Really hoping for puppies, even one or two!

I hope the vet can do something for your kitty.

Kathy Autumn is so cute! I hope you have lots of chew toys.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

she pefers my toes!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Deb, nothing like looking forward to a trip and something comes up to put a damper on it..here is hoping good news on both accounts..are you driving on your own?

Kathy, omg Autumn is just too adorable for words, my kind of puppy, nice and small..me thinks you will have your hands full with a pup,,loads of fun though.

Lindakay, thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Got to mash potatoes then make gravy, imagine me spending the morning cooking, who would believe it lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lucky lady I am, Kyle and Brianna were here visiting last night and now back to keep me company. Kyle has updated me on friends and family, sometimes that is good and sometimes that is bad.

Sunday I noticed that Noah was nothing but skin and bones, well today he is having Mari to determine extend of liver malfunction.it was damaged in the stabbing, so could he be included in our group prayers.

Talking of winter I asked Kyle to goo line for me as he has an account with the federation of Snowmobiling to order his snow machine permit, if I purchase before Nov 1st there is a big saving, $180.00 each vs $260 each ..always know what he and Greg are getting as part of their Xmas gifts but that is ok they appreciate it. 2 more off my list..Christmas is coming right?? Lol. Think I said that dec 26th

Waiting for TV dinners to cool, I will freeze then I can go play

So sorry to hear about Noah. We add him to our daily prayers!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Sending prayers for Noah.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Kyle just left, always a pleasure having him around to chat with...
Thanks for adding Noah to your prayer list, it will still be a long haul for him

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh gosh, Betty, hugs for you and prayers for Noah.

I can't wait to meet little Autumn in person. Please have her chewing of toes under control by February.

Hope that they can help Willow at the vet and good luck on the puppies to be!

Sharon, thank you on the compliment! I'm so glad the roast worked for you. It sounds kind of yukky, but the results....oh my...yum, yum!

Victoria Harbour, ON

There you go Joyce, I just finished making turkey dinners and now I'm hankering for your roast beef lol. Plan on ham TV dinners and roast beef..it should freeze up well with your recipe right?

Thanks for prayers for Noah..guess we will have to wait for MRI results, big sigh

Worry more about grandchildren then I did for my own I think

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

The decision is made, and, tomorrow at 1130 Smokey will cross the Bridge and scamper off with all his friends fir and healthy ..
Called the vet, and, as soon as the receptionist started to talk, I LOST it .. she was so nice to me .. I just bawled like a baby !
I feel sick, but, Smokey is just not living a GOOD life right now .. no running about getting into things, no jumping up .. can't even hold him as his breathing gets so bad ..

Will come back later .. right now I cn'tsee through tears ..

m

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

M, I am so sorry. Sending prayers and big hugs

Victoria Harbour, ON

"m" although it's one of the toughest decision I'm sure in your heart you know it's for the best..he couldn't have been loved more that he was all these years..and now you will show him the greatest of loves, the love to set him free, no more pain..hugs dear friend! You won't go alone right?

Wonder how Deb is making out with Willow?

Wind is up, leaves are dancing, soon there will be no leaves on the trees, time for re growth come spring and as you all know the months just fly by and we will be gabbing about tulips peeking through the snow to say hi.

Just had domination lunch and supper, was so tasty

Feel like a nap but I should fight it or it will be another sleepless night

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

It's the hardest part...loving them enough to do what's best for them even though it breaks our heart.

Verona, ON

(((M))) Karen said exactly what I was going to say. All of our pets who have crossed the bridge will be there to greet him.
D

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

As always I am always so glad and appreciative to have you ladies in my life
Trying not to cry as the dogs are picking up on it .. both Lilly and Piper were puppies with Smokey as their Alpha .. Zoey has come to like him too ..
He's sitting on the chair beside me, sound asleep .. every so often he looks up at me .. and I pat him and tell him all will be well ..
Both Gord and I will go, but, I won't go into the room, Gord will ..
I have been with literally hundreds of people who have passed with me beside them .. but, this is different ..

Hugs and love to all of you ..

~M~

Marilynne - it's for the best, and Smokey will be happier over the Bridge. You were blessed with him in your life for many more years than most. I will keep you in my prayers, dear lady.

Betty - our landlords were in the RV accident this summer - no one was hurt, but the bottom frame was bent. Bob helped for 3 days, getting cabinetry remade and fit in, but then they realized the base frame was bent, in the corner, so they have to get it repaired. She's thinking to sell the RV once fixed. It's too big for the 2 of them, and the boys don't want to "rough it" without Wifi..........

mulege, Mexico

Marilynne, we will all be hugging you tomorrow as Smokey crosses. Wish there was something more to be done to ease your pain. It is so hard to say goodbye even when we know it's ncessary.

Prrayers for Noah.

Liked the wedding pictures, Sharon.

I have a new cleaning person, Anita. She is a great help.

hugs, katie

Oh M, my heart goes out to you. This is never easy. Cayenne is almost 12 and her hips bother her so much. She just doesn't look happy. I'm not sure how she will do this winter. I may be making a hard decision soon, too.

I surely hope you will feel the arms around you tomorrow.

Betty, I don't know how it will freeze cause we always eat every scrap of it! I would think it would freeze just fine!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Looks as though we've all got kitties needing our love

Been laying on the couch all afternoon, filled, change in the weather I guess

Kind of hard to nap with a kitty on your tummy purr'ing louder than the TV. Lol

Katie, glad you've some help, does she live nearby?
