It might be. That's why you need to talk to an attorney. In California just making the statement verbally is binding to break the lease and be held to it. katie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

in Canada, it's not legally binding, so I've been told by Residential Tenancy

mulege, Mexico

In my experience, too many people who should know what they are talking about, don't. That applies especially to people who work for agencies that should know whereof they speak. That's why I keep pushing you to talk to an attorney who knows this field. I'm coming from years and many dollars lost because I thought people who should have known did know. They didn't.

I just won $50 playing poker.

Going to be another nice day weather wise here .. mid 70s ..
Only complaint is the 'house flies' .. grrrrrrrrrr .... open the door to go out, and, I swear , 2 come in ..
As well .. the ever Unpopular fruit flies .. I have my small bowls of cider vinegar and dishsoap taking care of that.

Cooking a roast of beastie today .. beef is so expensive that I about collapsed when I saw a Prime Rib big enough for 3, on sale for $28.00 !!!

Smokey is still prowling around, wouldn't eat his salmon this morning ..
The girls, Lilly and most especially Zoey have 'ear mites' .. looks like a vet visit in their future ..

Leaving Lorna to sleep in .. she'll be angry, but, she needs it ..
DH has Zoey and Smokey with him ..
Kinda quiet .. I LIKE it :-)

Whatever you do today, enjoy ...

Morning all,

Off to the start of another beautiful day..
Must be duck hunting season here as I've heard gun shots 2 days running, poor quackery.

Sad as it may be Katie, Canadian regulations are different and it would be senseless for her to get a lawyer based on a Facebook comment that they would move out..here is hoping Bob is able to get you more time where you are Susan.

Katie, what is the most you can win playing poker..

"m" have heart, you will know when it's time.

Barb, glad you are back with us, glad that Norm has kept up with computer technology.how are you making out with your projects?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Bob & I are heading off to church this morning. We owe so much comfort from our minister, Nancy - she's wonderful as a model of Christianity.

Today, I woke up walking more normally than I have for ever-so-long. I hope the torn meniscus is what is healing. Maybe the muscles around it. Tenuous but feeling better. Arthritis doesn't heal, but meniscus does.......have it in both knees

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Such a stellar day here, albeit windy .. but,am in the house as the WASPS were making us crazy !
none of us had food or anything sweet to drink .. they just seemed to be BUGGING wasps ..
dinner is cooking, and, I am watching Smokey as he sleeps ..

Hope everyone is enjoying their day .. big deal moon thing tonight (eclipse) ,, as well .. the FINALE of CSI .. been on the air for 15 years ! 2 hour show ... I best take a nap LoL

Toodles

~M~

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

eclipse, or the Big Moon? The eclipse would happen during the daytime when the moon covers the sun...
Bob was telling me something about the moon being the closest during the year, to the earth, so it's been getting bigger - is it supposed to be a full moon?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Eclipse is right..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

The eclipse happens tonight.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

DS states it'll be a 'big as* moon' .. LoL
Hasn't happened since, I believe the 1980s .. the eclipse of a SUPER moon ..
Been clear here all day, but, the clouds are moving in as we speak .
Not to worry though, I can imagine the internet will be choc a bloc full of pics tomorrow ..

Good luck with your viewing :-)

~M~

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ok - will be watching in an hour and a half :-)
It'll be light then, but by the end it will be dark and a clear night

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hopefully we'll see it well, in our end of Canada

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ok - Lunar Eclipse lol
I forget about them, and only think about solar eclipses of the sun......
I'm looking forward to it - if we can see it from our low level on the property, with 4 story homes around us.....

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning :-)
Did anyone see the Moon .. sheesh, sounds like the title of a song !
We didn't .. a rainstorm rolled in right about 8pm ..
Did watch the finale of CSI, but, due to the horrendous number of commercials, I bailed about 1015.

Supposedly going to be a fair day today .. I'll be busy making phone calls for Lorna re her blood work results..
Have oodles of yard work to accomplish ..
Smokey is still with us ..

Have a lovely day wherever you are

it was cloudy, but we seen some of it

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

"m" sorry to say I missed it, was overcast so likely had I not gone to bed early I'd not have seen it either.
Perhaps Joyce and the girls may have watched CSI as they were still up after I went Bettybyes

Hi Kathy, Joyce was telling me all about your visit..

Girls are still sleeping, I'll wait till7:30 then start making a ruckus as I know they want to head out early a.m.

Quite the day yesterday went out for breakfast, toured the S.S. Keewatin, gorgeous ship, made a few years before the Titanic..I was totally impressed with it and it's less than 10 miles from home..then the gals set in the water bubbler unit and cleaned the side garden while I got supper ready, friends came around 2pm, lovely visit by all

"m" the Keewatin ran between here and thunder bay in her time, passenger shop..they've had hundreds of volunteers help to date restore her..sure wish she was running now, I could go visit while enjoying myself.

Girls have lots to pack today, their bags, their windows, their block snowman, pillowcases they made, lots of memories made this visit.

Been up since 4..embroidered Joyce's grandaughters name in her nanny quilt..last visit added more names, this time only one.

Today I will get the bedding done, organize my week as I've a busy weekend ahead.

First on my list is getting rock to complete my bubbler, I so love it. Going to have to watch it though, Rita sure wants it, might go missing she said.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We watched the moo last night. It was pretty to cool to watch.

"M", I hope you get answers about her blood work.

Ladies, please drive safely going home.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Safe travels for your visitors Betty ..

As a matter of fact, I rode on the Keewatin WAY back in the late 60's .. I was just a kid, but I remember it vividly ..
Back then, Thunder bay was TWO cities .. Fort William, and, Port Arthur .. the Keewatin would run from Ft. Wm to Port Arthur .. it took about an hour .. lunch was served, and everyone lavished in the luxury of the ship .. the wood, the brass .. just beautiful .. there was another ship .. The Assiniboine .. same thing, you boarded and did lunch .. wonderful memories .. glad you got to see it ..

The 'bubbler' sounds lovely ..

Know I will get, "the run around", LK, but, I will stick to my guns !! Lorna needs to be seen, and, SOON !!

How exciting is that "M"
Have some photo's and will post later so that it will bring back more memories of your trip!

Greg/Mel and Kyle and Brianna were here last night, Greg thought I should not have worked the gals so much

Took a few photo's, should have moved the windows so you could see the 3 of them but didn't, Joyce's is on the top

Joyce and Ann did a painting last night, I took about 10 minutes and put flowers on a pot that Joyce brought and wanted done...name on quilt for Joyce

We sure we're busy bees

Girls are almost packed up

Be lonesome all by myself

No moon in sight for us cloudy & rainy.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sounds like they had a fabulous time. tell them to drive safe.
fueding with my neighbors. think they arehaving me arrested for harassment. well the joke is on them, i already swore out a warrant on the husband! they should pick him up tomorrow

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy, so glad the most I have is a screaming teen yelling at a dog from time to time..wouldn't be nice to have such neighbors

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy, that feud has been going on a long time. I hope it comes to an end soon!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Sitting and patiently (NOT) waiting for a call back from Lorna's hematologist's office .. called there at 8am ..
Frustrating .. want to shower, but, don't dare in case the nurse calls .. so ... am baking pumpkin to render .. had a recipe on Facebook with TWO ingredients .. shows a box of Betty Crocker yellow cake mix, and, a can of pumpkin .. no SIZE .. I have 16 oz of fresh pumpkin, but, don't want to waste it if it isn't enough .. you mix the cake mix and pumpkin together, and fill muffin tins, bake at 350 x 20-25 minutes .. no eggs or water .. I would add cinnamon, ginger and clove .. but, kinda not willing to waste good fresh pumpkin
BUT . I do have applesauce to use up too :-)
BAKING day !!!!!!!!!!!

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Those sound good!

I hope you get a call back soon!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here is hoping you soon will have news..did Lorna do to work?

Victoria Harbour, ON

How many more days Lindakay?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Kinda nice here in the country past the end of the road. Neighbor #1, our tenant, no lease so can boot if he becomes a problem. Been here 3 1/2 years so........
Neighbor # 2, seasonal rental by the week. no problems there and if there are we can call the owner.
Next house down, nice folks, don't see much of them.

Never really had to much in the way of troublesome neighbors or tenants, guess we are lucky. Had one bad one on subsidised rent. She got the house so nasty, I turned the house in as unfit for the children to live in. Children were removed and thus her rent ended.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

When we purchased our first home, in the city, we were the YOUNGSTERS on the block, our neighbours to either side, and, across the street were seniors .. we had been married 2 years, no children, both working shiftwork, and, OMG!! One neighbour (a spinster living with her aged Mom) would go ballistic on us if our Caraghana hedge grew a half inch .. she was a fanatic about grass and hedges .. the other neighbour .. gawd luv him .. Scotty .. was a care giver to his lovely wife Viva .. who suffered from Agoraphobia (wouldn't go out) .. he was a putterer .. and, a TALKER .. got to the point I had to leave for evening shift half an hour early if he was out n about .. BUT .. he loved trimming the Caraghana hedge .. and had a dislike for Evelyn the spinster ..
When I became pregnant .. I had LOTS of help, and, all of the neighbours were ecstatic when Murray came along ..
Lived there til Murr was 12, and then out here to the country, neighbours are far away, and keep pretty much to themselves .. we all know we can count on one another though ..
Living beside an 'ouchy neighbour', would be a tough row to hoe fer sure ..

Still waiting on a call ..
One applesauce loaf made, and a banana one on the go ..

Hate waitin !!!

Betty, did your company get away ?
Yes, Lorna is at work .. says she'd go crazy at home waiting ..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Previous neighbors in the house directly next door was my parents so..... We were just using this as a cottage then so my parents either had lots going on here or nothing.

mulege, Mexico

I'm happy here on my little hilltop with no room for new neighbors. Dana and Tom are the only close neighbors and they are not real close. Works for me.

My trip caught up with me at the end of the week and I had a lazy weekend. Feeling better today. Laundry is almost done and I'm starting on the dishes.

Helper Carlos got a new job in Santa Rosalia. He's been a good help but I'm just as happy when it's just me and Tony.

I'm reading an excellent book called "Sweet Revenge." Both funny and informative.

It's still hot and humid here. Another two or three weeks and it should start to cool off. I should have a little more energy then. For now, It's a little here, a little there. I've managed to keep up with the laundry but not with getting it folded and put away. I have piles of clean laundry all over the house! Oh, well, poco poco.

Hope you get a call about Lorna soon. Waiting like that is so frustrating.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, are you asking about my Dr. appointment? October 26th. That is for evaluation. I hope I get a date for surgery soon after.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

didn't see moon - cloudy

waiting for call from lawyer
cancelled utility move.
I just want to crawl into a hole and let 9 months go by. crying

Victoria Harbour, ON

Always nice to have laundry done Katie, just finished 4 loads, all beds are nice and clean and ready should I have more guests lol

Great news for Carlos, sure hope Tony never decides to find employment in Santa Rosalia.

Bet you can't wait for cooler weather, by cooler you mean?? 80's??

Had a snooze, Jehovah Witness came to the door, I was in a sound sleep, thought I had slept for hours, see it Must have been for minutes, same movie is on and clock hasn't moved much

I should make myself presentable, I want to fo to town and get some quarry rocks for the bubbler, anxious to see it finished..hmm maybe a few plants as well

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry things haven't worked out Susan for the better since your trip..I think I'd pack up and move closer to the family, even though you couldn't take much with you it would surely be better than your present situation, with Bob not having employment nor you might be the perfect time.

New start just might be what is needed!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Bob's still working until the 2nd, and then we don't know what his "casual" status will give him for hours.

I'm still waiting for the lawyers to call, and now on hold with Canada Post re two issues - one for their site not allowing us to change our address, and the other for our tenants withholding our mail

Victoria Harbour, ON

2nd isn't far away Susan..

Good luck with your postal issues, would be impossible to prove they withheld your mail though unless they say they did...

Joyce drove Detroit way, just called, ready to enter USA..short trip now..they will be in Ohio in a tad
