Debbie, you need a vacation, and going to Betty's place will be awesome!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon,

Mom left early this morning so I followed her as far as Barrie.main road was closed, lots of detours...picked up the black/white fabric I needed for the wedding quilt from fabric shop then headed to fabric land, omg Xmas fabric was from $12.00-$25.00 a yard, I bought a few pieces I needed and that was that..I just wouldn't sew if I had to pay those kind of $$$...what they did have was little packages of fabric, 50 cents a bag so bought 12 of them, should be enough to make Thunder's two grandchildren kid tote bags..coming home I thought surely the road would have been cleared but nope, no go so more detours.

Raining off and on, torrential downpour was early this a.m.
Feels so damp, just put the furnace on, imagine.

Debbie do try, been so long since I saw you I'm not sure I'll recognize you

Home the butterflies fly off before you leave Joyce after watching over them as you have you would hate to miss out.

Enjoy family Susan

Had take out at McDonalds so no need to cook lunch, might just go downstairs and organize a project, don't want to waste a rainy day..

Now Joyce I hope you gals don't mind that on Saturday we are going to do a circuit for me for a studio sew hop, I soooo want the pattern for this rag quilt..we would travel to Huntsville, Bracebrice, Barrie, Cookstown..all lovely cottage country towns, I would pick up my block pattern/fabric at each location, no more than 15 or so minutes then we could hit their main streets for shops, boutiques etc if ok with you all..you would get to see nice country and rocks. Lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorted through the packages, cut out 2 bags and pockets, ready to sew..talk about a bag of many colours. Lol, a, sure little ones won't mind, won't take long to sew

Washed/dried black/white fabric so it will be ready to use tomorrow, that is if it rains, if nice, I'm playing outside

Thanks much to Y'All for the love and support.
Hugs of thanks, from Levi, Meg, and the girls too. ♡♡♡♡♡.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thunder, would I be better to post directly to them or you?
I'll bring it with me stateside or will give postage to Joyce and ask her to mail next week?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

going to go see them in the middle of Oct, so either way. I can Dmail their address if you want it.

when are you coming to Florida?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Sunshine day today and think Mother Nature will cooperate with sunshine for my travellers..
3 more sleeps Joyce (and hopefully Debbie)! Joyce re you planning to leave early Wednesday?

Brrr right now it's damp and cool, grass is wet so I'll sew for a bit and go out around 10am..don't want to catch a cold and be ill for my visitors.

thunder I'll make the quilt throw and bags to you then

Smiling here, made my coffee and thought I should have cereal, took the box out, mind must have been somewhere else, dumped it into much coffee, yuk

What's in your plans today?

I didn't sleep in. Trying to get a bit of sewing in before going to work.
Bags look fantastic!

Y'all have a great day :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thunder, that makes for a long day for you, sewing and working..how many days will you get to spend with the family when you frog mid October..how many hours drive?

Seems I get into heavy sweat even working a tad of physical work, water just a rolling down my body..was like that for a few weeks, not normal for me..think body is telling me I'm getting lied so taking a break, wet wash rag to wipe away the beads of sweat..give myself 1/2 hour then out for an hour.

Did I tell you the Greek gentleman who is doing work next door is pouring me two cement Benches? Well he just brought over the 1st, said he put a lot of metal in it as to strengthen it..going to pour the 2nd one today..when I will do them who knows but have them when I want to

Fabulous, Betty! The bags are adorable and yay on the benches.

Saturday sounds like just our kind of thing! Suppose we'll see any beach guy So? ;)

Yes, we're planning on leaving early. Well, not TOO early! It's a nice drive. Think we'll cross in Detroit.

I released 3 new Monarchs yesterday and so far 4 have been born this morning. It looks to me like there are 4 more crysalides ready as well. Literature I've read say they like to emerge mid morning (these started at 10:00) but can also emerge in the afternoon sometimes. I've been spotting several in the garden and hope they are my babies. I guess they could be ones on the move south as well.

I had to water like crazy yesterday. Now it's time to go out and move the sprinkler to another area. Bill says no rain predicted till next Saturday. It's really dry. After the wet Spring we had, I didn't think I'd have to do any watering this summer.

It looks like your weather this week will be similar to ours, Betty. I've packed most of what I'm bringing, hope it's the right stuff!

Hoping you can join us, Debbie! I think it would surely do you good to have a girls time!

Hope Susan is enjoying herself.

Hope the rest of you are good!

Beautiful towns Joyce..likely Friday we will make for an easier day by doing and shopping late afternoon in Cookstown and Barrie and go for supper at the Marketplace Buffet..
Saturday off to Orillia, brace bridge and Huntsville..just nice to spend the day in cottage country

Trip is 8 -10 hours, pending traffic.
I'm going to ask for 4 days in a row off , two my usual days off, two vacation days
Leave early am, get there in eve. Spend 3 nights, leave 4th morning for home.
Rumer has it , Levi will be away most of Oct, and Nov.
Very hard to get time off November and December .

Victoria Harbour, ON

Long trip,
Oh my, guess you won't be going if they are gone nov and dec..love these rumours lol
Where would they Begone?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

We're going to get our material tomorrow. I think since I have my tote bag from you, I'd like to make a smaller one to carry as a purse, too. How much fabric will we need for that size? Still two different fabrics?

I told Sherry about Saturday. She's excited. She loves little towns like that! Me, too for that matter.

The other four Monarchs emerged late morning. I just released all 8 a few minutes ago. Of the 8, 5 were males. That's unusual since of the first 26 that I released there were only 2 males. I think that's odd. There might be a couple born tomorrow, but I think the others will wait till Tuesday or even later. It is do fascinating to watch them emerge from their chrysalis. Those wings are so, so tiny! Then they just hang there and they grow and grow!

Glad to see you're in Wpg Susan ..
Lovely write up (obit) re Alice ..

Joyce, am so curious re the Monarchs .. a lady here, her name is Zuza .. has been 'tending' to a few hundred in her back yard for the last few years .. it's gotten to the point where she schedules viewings of her gardens ..
Good on you for being a safe haven ..

Betty, how's the wedding quilt coming ?

I guess you want to know about Smokey .. he is still with us .. sat on DH lap in the sun outside yesterday .. we just doted on him, but, he is slipping ..

A week of apt .. Dental cleaning (have to take a MEGA dose of antibiotic before I go) :-(
Splint made for my right thumb and palm is impossible to get on .. so.. back to the drawing board with that ..
Have an injection of the biologic drug scheduled for Thursday .. and, as well, Lorna has a docs appt.
Plus .. DH has most the apples from the trees in boxes, going to make crisps and freeze them ..

Hope all of you are well and happy

HUGS

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Been up since 7am..just sitting on the back deck feeling and hearing sounds of fall.

Susan, hard day for you today..hugs

"m" how on earth will you be able to get all the crips done when your not feeling the best especially with your hand?

No haven't worked on the wedding quilt, perhaps today I will make a few blocks, trying to get Thunder's 2 grandaughters bags done and want to prepare some glass blocks..bought them but they have white around outer edge and they are for snowmen, don't want the white to hide the light as the front side has the face painted white....washing bedding in the spare rooms so full day but hoping to get at least a block done so I can see what they will look like.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

good morning everyone - will see you later. Thank you for your thoughts, hugs & prayers

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Betty .. we have an apple peeler/corer thing a ma bob .. while I to the topping .. DH will do the apples, we share in the cutting of them ..
It'll take us a bit of time ,, but, I only bought 9 pans (8x8) to do ..

Shoulder is pitchin a fit, still. Left hand feels like it's full of buzzing bees !!

Pfffft .... always something ..

Hi Everyone - I'm home safe but very tired. Much rain and really bad roads this morning. Three hours for the last 70 miles!!! Had to let you all know I'm OK. Back later.

hugs katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for checking in and letting us know you are home. Get some rest and snuggle in with the fur babies.

Verona, ON

Katie thank you for checking in... we are glad to see you home safely.

Betty DO NOT pass this pain off .

Judy how are you doing? Still catching up from your holiday?

My GP has decided I should have the Shingles shot. I have been exposed to someone who has it last week. Plus I had a severe case of chicken pox which that alone suggests it would be wise for me to get the shot. Sure hope I don't have a severe reaction to it..I had chicken pox on top of chicken pox . I think I have a photo here of me on Christmas Day just covered in spots.... I'll look for it later... gives me a good reason to clean out that closet.

Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, that was a quick trip, glad you are home and safe.

Dianne, think they are suggesting shingle shot for anyone over 60 aren't they? Wonder how many will get it when it's over $100..you would think seniors would be covered but not. Here is hoping no side effects and yes you are prime candidate to get it especially if you've been in contact with it..look how I'll "M"'s hubby has been.

Feeling great today, when I was sweating I was working outside..and pressure is on right side, I might have pulled something but I promise should it come back I'll have it checked.

Thanks for the link Lindakay.

Maria just left, poor dear, she is the lady that sews on Thursday night, having cancer treatment, not always feeling the best..she did a Christmas piece, when it came to quilting her red back thread came through the top onto the white, she picked out as much as she could and finally beside herself, tears in abundance, (think it was for someone for Xmas) she came over..I fixed it as best as I could, unless you knew you would not know there was a boo/boo!
She left smiling

Neighbours are all out cutting grass, think I should start my rider
