CONGRATULATIONS Lorna! :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Doing the happy dance "M"
Congrats to Lorna, she is an inspiration to all of us
Is Mason the one that thanked the young men and made no note as to Lorna's achievements?
Made my day

Susan, waiting for you to post how you made out so I can go beddy byes

Lyndonville, NY

Congratulations to Lorna!!

Accidentally let my DG expire so am back up and running. Then problems with
my Chrome browser cant' get on anything so have foxfire up. Blah!!!

Has been a he&& if two weeks, and loosing my Franky yesterday
just was not in the cards of dealing for my heart. I know 100% I did
the right thing taking him to the vet and having put down. Just do not
think it is right for animal to suffer so for me being selfish to have him
with me. Vet agreed and said it was time.

Has been a month of being at the hospital/doctors/surgical center with DD
who is getting spinal blocks for nerve and back pain and also PT.
We are both wiped out.

Have so much to catch up on.

Sweet dreams

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry your having so much going on Debbie! ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) and prayers!

Glad you are back with us.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

BRAVA LORNA! A well deserved honor for a lovely job. BIG HUGS Such a neat thing to share with her folks on their next visit...Thanks for the pix M.

Sorry Debbie....saying good-bye is not easy. But I agree, when it is about the animal , and suffering...Hugs for having the strength .

Susan, my deepest sympathies for You for Alice's passing. As for the rest...I too am speechless...

Sending you all good thoughts and hope this finds you all safe and life is kind.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I got my ticket - Mastercard was being NO help at all....... a couple were compassionate, but several were very cold and cut/dried.
Did not get the card. Had to go to the airport and pay in cash (40min drive each way plus parking). Westjet airlines were awesome - cut $64 off the flight in addition to bereavement discount, because we had $400 on us and would have to go to ATM to get more - we were counting $5 and coin to make it and she just discounted, so we kept pocket change lol
And the bank called Canada Post (who they use for overnight courier) to follow up. Still wasn't in when they closed at 8pm tonight.

Leave tomorrow afternoon, and return Tues evening.
Keep my seat warm!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Susan, how wonderful you had the right ticket agent who was able to get you another discount, God bless her.

Staying quiet as not to wake mom, can hear the crows, cool breeze coming in through my bedroom window, feel of fall is in the air.

Dianne, how did you make out at your appointment yesterday..hope all went well.

Not sure what is on my agenda for today..might try to do some garden clean up, less to do come spring, maybe while sitting gabbing with mom will work on another couple of panels for the wedding quilt.

Have to pick up my car when they call that it's ready, maybe do groceries, take mom shopping and that ought to fill in today.

"m" will there be an article in the paper re Lorna's achievement?

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Congratulations to Lorna! What a wonderful feeling to have your job recognized in that way!

Congrats also to Sharon on her pups. Spent this week trying to get a breeding, not real hopeful we'll get anything, again.

So glad you were able to get your tickets, Susan. What a horrible mess this has all been for you.

So sorry to hear of Frankie's passing and your DD's troubles, Debbie. It's the hardest decision we as pet owners have to make. Hope you DD is improving.

Yay! It's Friday! Have a good day, everyone!

Deb

Victoria Harbour, ON

omg didn't see the upper posts, was watching for Susan's post and didn't scroll up

So sorry to hear you had to put Frankie down Debbie, hard decision and sorry to hear about Shannon's health issues, another worry you didn't need. No wonder you are exhausted..had posted a few days ago that it would be nice to have you join Joyce and the girls who are visiting on Wednesday thru to Monday..would do you good to have gotten away for some non-stress time and get spoilt..please think about it. Is Paul back at work?

Jean, how is your MIL? still making daily visits?

Deb do hope the breeding takes, you've put a lot of effort in picking up the mate, what makes you think she will not take?

Mom is still sleeping so I'm being quiet, had a piece of linoleum downstairs, 4x48 so thought rather than have it drag around I'd make a fall mat for front door, nothing that takes time, quick and easy so managed to get first coat of paint on it, must wait for it to dry so cut out more flowers for the wedding quilt side panel and am on 2nd cup of coffee

what a lovely breeze out there

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

SO good to hear you got your tickets. I know you are frantically packing and getting ready. Have a safe trip Susan!

Morning Jean, How are you doing?

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

We weren't able to get a natural breeding. Very, very low libido on the male. My vet feels he has prostate issues. We ended up doing an artificial insemination, and the one collection they were able to get on the male wasn't a very good quality. Sperm count was very low. Usual sample has 300million, his was about 75 million. But, I only need a few of those swimmers to find eggs! So keeping my fingers crossed, but vet said find another male for next season. She said it would be a miracle if this takes.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yikes, that's not good Deb, would the owner not have known this??
Here's hoping you do have champion swimmers

Laughing, mom was on the front deck, the Greek man who owns the little corner mall and who is using my water for mixing cement this past month came up to her explaining they poured my cement bench form and that they would do the 2nd..asked what she thought of the new colour they just sprayed..I came out and said you are gabbing to the wrong lady. Lol. He said 'ah twins'. Nope mom and daughter

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Safe travels Susan.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, that is to funny.

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

Congratulations to Lorna! She has worked so hard and deserves the recognition!

Debbie, sorry for the loss of your little guy, you made a good decision to let him go and end the suffering.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Now what have you been up to Terry?

Was gorgeous out this morning, now about to rain

Mechanic called, motor installed for back wiper, says I need a new wiper arm, none in Canada, imagine, has to order one, might be a week or so before it comes in..will pick up car later and likely be a week or two before arm comes in.

Have my floor lots based, have all the little flowers cut for side panel and ready to heat up Chinese

Think we will eat out tonight as we will be in town

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

Not much, just enough time here and there to take a quick peek at what's going on. One of my team is out after surgery, another one is limited on the amount of time she can help and my last team member has been on my team 6 days now and the poor guy, I have no time to train him, he gets some information here and there. Seems like more drugs and chemicals are being imported lately and it's hard for me to get any down time for lunch and breaks so I grab a few minutes when I need a breather!.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

My gosh Terri .. you are BUSY ... always take time for a break though ..

Thanks so very much to everyone re Lorna's award .. she is so worthy of it, and, so humbled to win something for a job she just loves doing
I will try and post some pics of the cemetery ..

I am off to an eye apt .. see if the drops are working ..

Betty .. remember 'back in the day', when businesses actually carried INVENTORY !!!
Sure a thing of the past ..

God speed on your trip HOME to Wpg Susan ..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Debbie - so sorry to hear of your little Frankie's passing. It was time, but still soooooooo hard.

I'm just waiting for Bob to get home from taking packed boxes to storage, so he can take me to the airport. Boarding is in 2 hours. I have everything laid out to pack, but Bob's bringing back the suitcase from storage, so impatiently waiting.........

Marietta, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty, here's a temporary solution for that wiper problem... lol

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOk_XWvtO74

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hehehehe I love that solution, Kathy!! Betty - you could always get a "hunk" to do this for you! An Elvis look-alike maybe? Sing at the same time......

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Just a quick Hello.

Yes, Betty, still daily with MIL. Most times she says hello, and goes back to sleep. Sunday is her 86th Birthday. I am afraid this may be her last birthday.

I am still kickin' LK. Some days not as high as others, but still moving forward. Thanks for asking.

Dianne, hope you are feeling better...keep the music flowing.

Hello and happy thoughts for you all.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Jean - my prayers are with you, your mom, and your family.
Happy 86th Birthday to her!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh I'm so laughing Kathy, that would be the way to save $$$ ..where you find such clip se is beyond me..just showed mom and we're both in stitches. Yep Susan on the hunks to help!!

Susan, hugs, hope although a terrible reason for travelling you get some relaxation and enjoyment being with family.

Jean, sorry to hear about your mom, how sad to live that existence.

"m" bet Lorna is still on a high

Raining, just leaving for town, did get the side panel flowers done, now to appliqué both sections

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'll get to see our grandson, Marshall, and Adam & Emily. Looking forward to meeting little Marshall

Marietta, OH(Zone 6a)

I wished I had thought of something like that years ago when I was a teenager. My SIL let me ride with her to see my brother in the Army. On the way back, the wiper flew off during a horrendous rain storm and we were left with only 1 wiper. In a Volkswagon Bug, no less.. We pulled off on the side of the interstate and prayed we didn't get rear-ended during the storm. I found this on FB, and gladly shared it with her in case she ever needed an idea..LOL

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

HAhahahaah .. the ULTIMATE redneck wipers ! Only hope the fella doesn't lose the rhythm .

Debbie .. I tend to think Frankie had best be waiting on new arrivals once he has crossed the bridge .. our sweet Smokey is failing fast .. at 22 years of age .. it's to be expected, but, he sure has packed us full up with wonderful memories in those years .. the decision as to whether or not to take him in is fast approaching with our utmost dismay and heartache.

Best get moving here

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

How exciting Susan..by now you will have arrived, bet there will be tears of sadness as well as happiness! Emotional for sure.

You know Kathy we are laughing but if it ever happened while on the road might be a good thing to know..redneck or not. Lolita

Terry, difficult to train someone when you are short of staff and frustrating I'm sure for the untrained staff. My girlfriend Janice who comes to sew on Thursday nights hasn't been in weeks, her back is out yet she continues to work regular shift and o/t because they are short of staff, she is in agony..told her as long as she continues to cover they will never hire. She feels badly because she works for the Ontario provincial police and does the checks when people start new jobs or if they volunteer so she frets they can't get a job they don't have it..sure hope she sees reason and takes a sick leave.

Lindakay, filled your pumpkin with goodies, think I should put a photo of myself next to it so I'm not tempted to eat them all😜

"m" know how you are feeling..for months after I had the courage to take Sailor in I wondered if I had not acted hastily..takes courage to do that for a furry friend

Just got back from town, mom wanted to go to a few places, did my groceries..wanted to make supper but she says she is full, we'll have sweets then who knows, might try to stay up until at least 8pm. Lol

(((((Debbie))))) I'm so sad for you...always so hard even when you know it's the right thing.

5 more sleeps! Woohoo!

Hope all is going well, Susan.

Hugs to all....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

My friend, Eileen, picked me up at the airport and we had dinner here.
I called Bob, Michelle, and Adam & Emily to let them know I'm here. Emily & Adam are coming here to take me to be with them when Marshall gets professional pictures done.. Then Michelle will pick me up for lunch and to go visit Mom. She wants to spend some time with her mom :-)
On Tuesday my sister Ruth will pick me up for dinner and then take me to the airport at 8:30 Wpg time.
at the moment, there are no plans for Sunday, and the funeral is 2pm Monday.

Victoria Harbour, ON

You've. Got quite a schedule Susan..great you have this time with family and friends,,think it's what is needed right now..you will fly back with an entire new outlook!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, already feeling more relaxed, thank you, Betty :-)

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm so glad you were able to make it there, Susan. Enjoy your family and friends and remember the good times you had with Alice.

3 butterflies emerged this morning of the 19 crysalides that are in the 3rd container. Not sure if they'll all make it before we leave for Canada or not. If they don't, Bill can release them.

Looks like a big rain is headed our way shortly. If it doesn't give us decent rain, I'll have to water. Everything is really dry.

I set peanuts out for the Blujays this morning. Nikki is really enjoying the show! :-)

Lyndonville, NY

Betty I will talk to the boss and see what I can arrange.
