Suite 312. "Sweet Interruptions"

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Bob & I could have joined you - both March babies. He's March 6 & I'm March 11th. There are an overpowering amount of March babies in Renfrew too - we used to have a mass b-day cake for us all.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hugs Susan, sorry to read of Alice. And she's in a perfect place. Have you talked to your daughter about Glen?

Had stopped using the dishwasher here too ever since Kel went bonkers. Actually it lowered the electric bill. My drip dry storage place now!!

Down in the dumps. Can't go anywhere as the truck still isn't fixed. Though I can use it on Sunday mornings, the post office isn't opened.
My friends work during P.O hours, and Ida though she always offered to take me anywhere I want, it's just lip service. She'd leave for town without asking me. Lolol.

Been doing more quilt squares. Simple heart pattern with RWB and batiks! Oh.. sorry.. no batteries bought yet.

Back is still aggravating me. Must be the old time injury to the lower disks.

Kelvin refused to eat meatless canned chilli beans. So I cut up some .. you guess it.. tube steaks. He got the picture.

Heat is back.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I just sent an email to my niece about her dad, Glen. He went for Chemo yesterday, and apparently each time he gets sicker with it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Chemo kicks your butt. My friend Katie went through it. It drains your body of all the nutrients you need and then some.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You are right LK. I watched my bff suffer each time she returns from chemo. The only thing she looks forward to is a toke.. to calm her stomach

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Happy Birthday Synda!! May God keep on blessing you.
Ehem.. our resident baker must have burnt your cake!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I sent her a cake on Facebook, but will post one here, just in case she needs another one!

Happy birthday Synda!

Happy Birthday, Synda!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Susan, so sorry for your loss but yes she's in a better place.

Been hotter than you know what here ugh!!! 103 today tomorrow 105, 102 Saturday then back down to 92 for Sunday

Man oh Man, we have been having problems with one of our little boys. For the last two weeks, he's been yelling at my daughter and I, hitting us and being mean to the other kids. of course his mother is one of those that says "Oh no not my little angel!!!" Denies that he hits them at home, etc. Well today my daughter put him in bedroom for nap with tv on, she had to leave and the program he was watching ended. I picked up the remote to start another program and he thought I was turning the tv off and started kicking me!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I told my daughter when she got back and she immediately texted his mother, and that is when she denied that he hits them at home. Well my daughter has seen him hit his aunt when she would bring him to the pre-school where my daughter used to work.
I told my daughter he either has to go or their price gets raised. They are getting a huge discount for what reason I don't know. But this can not go on. He has been snatching toys away from other kids and pushed one of the little girls out of a chair today. I told my daughter he either has to go or raise their price. She had an interview yesterday for a new client and he acted up so bad he got the others kids started caused my daughter to lose that client. So we will see what happens come tomorrow.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh yeah Cindy, I'd send that little mister on his way. There will be trouble if he hurts another child. You just can't take the risk.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

want a "capper" to our day here? Our tenant is mad at Bob because Bob suggested they might find it more comfortable to live in our motorhome than sleeping on the floor in the mobile.
I think I've diffused that - Bob was concerned for their comfort and Marcel thought we were being rude and kicking them out.
Then Bob just got home and his full-time status at work has changed to "casual", not working every day, or full hours on days when he does. His last day is Oct 2nd, and he's "on-call" after that.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, it might be wise to invest in a camera that runs while the day care is open. That will give proof to the parents of the bad kids.

Susan, sorry to hear Bob will be out of work soon. Is there a reason?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

cutbacks because of lost contracts by managers. Lots of the big wigs have been let go, and the office staff is going to have to do laundry.
Supplies to the customers will go directly from the supplier, not the company.
Recently Oil & Gas laid off 900 jobs, most of them in Calgary, and there's a recession here now.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Having a camera sounds like the best proof to the parents that their little angel does raise hell in the day care. Hope that gets straightened out soon.

Happy Birthday Synda and many more.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying he finds a new job soon. Do you guys have unemployment?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

He's still semi-employed at the moment, so can't get what we call "Employment Insurance". It used to be called Unemployment Insurance, but they changed it several years ago. Some people still call it UI, and others have switched to calling it EI
Once his last day of Oct 2nd is past, he can claim it, and wait 5 to 6 weeks to receive it.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

My daughter and I talked about that. I am going to keep my phone handy all day tomorrow, the second I hear him yell I am going to record everything

Got the cutest video today. One of our good boys Roman, loves to dance. My daughter had put on some music and he asked Izabella "Will you dance with me?" OMG!! I couldn't my phone fast enough lol, but did get a good one of them dancing for well over a minute. He was trying to show her where to put her hands, lol Guess he watches mom and dad or maybe grandma and grandpa dance.

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Susan I am so sorry to have been right. I went four years without a full time job starting at 42 I could not get some jobs because I was over qualified. I could not help that I just wanted a job. I was fortunate though I traded my plant manager clothes for coveralls and went to Alaska as a working machinist and I did run a warehouse one summer with a small crew of 10 then shifted to retort operator for two summers then 3 months helping build a fish processing plant I made enough to live nicely until I finally got a full time job even if it was 50 miles away. I can't think Bob is going to have an easy time at his age. But best of wishes for him at this time.
Do you have like social security if so how long before he can draw that?

If it was me I would get rid of the brat before he gets mad at one of the kids and starts hitting them. Yep FIRE THE BRAT

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Ernie - there's a recession in Calgary - they were letting everyone go, except some sales & office staff
Of the 900 jobs lost in Oil & Gas, the majority of them are in Calgary. It's a tumble-down effect to all industries.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

We have another massive fire burning. It's about 2 hrs North East of us, and my car was covered with ashes this morning. This is a picture of the sun trying to shine through the smoke at 7:30 this morning. it has burnt about 32,000 acres and is 10% contained

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yikes Cindy - this is going to be a health hazard for anyone with asthma or other breathing issues.
Take care.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

The plunge in gas prices, thanks to China's financial insecurity, totally wreck the oil and gas industry.
China could be the biggest investor, just like they were in steel too.
Prayers go out to Bob, Susan.

Cindy, my godson's mother won a lawsuit against his babysitter and with the money, she'd afford a nice downpayment for their home.
Kayvon would tell his mother that there's a brat at the daycare and he's being picked by a bully just for his skin color. My gf would complain and the owner would keep making promises.
One day, she picked him up and noticed scratches on his face and back. The owner said, Kayvon fell off the slide. Yah right, Susie's a nurse.
The daycare was responsible for Kayvon's safety, and it should have refused to babysit the brat.
Just sharing this with you, it's better to take the side of financial caution, then trying to work it out with parents in denial.

Marion's b'day today. Guess we can serve her a piece of Synda's cake!! Lol.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion birthday did not show up on the list.

Happy birthday Marion. I hope you have a great day.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

The has grown 50,000 acres in less than 48 hours, it is heading to a friend's house now :(

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hope it misses Cindy.

Happy Birthday Marion....We miss you.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Happy Birthday, Marion

I wish I could go to my sister's funeral, but it's not to be - with Bob's looming job loss, it's more than we can afford. The family is making a powerpoint presentation and I'll get it sent to me, so I can see it, and they said that they understand why I cn't come.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Friends,

The fire is out of control several small towns have been ordered to evacuate and my friend was one of them. Thank GOD for loyal biker friends a few rushed to his property and got everybody out including all animals. He had just had surgery to remove cancer (forget where it was) but everyone is safe now. We have no water to fight this fire, very heartbreaking. Ca is drying up, burning up and soon will fall into the Ocean if we have the big earthquake they keep talking about. It's very scary only GOD knows what is going to happen to us.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Is your home in danger Cindy? All sounds very scary.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

No we are not in any danger, it's burning south east of us.

Here are a couple of pictures

Cindy, seems you might have to amass some fortune and move somewhere with no history of forest fires, mudlide or earthquakes!

Short stay while I can. My 'net and phone has been unkind.
Yesterday the phone and electric company had called and I guess I must learn how to chop wood!
He came in from work, very upset this morning and said he can never get ahead.
There he goes, blaming everyone for his debts, not on himself. Reminded him that at least he has a job. Could it be, debtors are now working after seven and had been calling him at work?
Never in my whole entire stay in the USA. have I do without electricity, unless it's hurricane related.

I am fine. As long as there are still cans of food that don't require heat.
Need the phone and net though.. In posession of a cell phone. still got minutes on it.. thank you precious angel sister.

Sisters who are in the quilt block swap, watch out for the mail next week. Got ALL out, that's a relief. "Stole his truck" for a couple of hours yesterday morning. I am surprised 9/11 isn't made a holiday.

Have one fantastic weekend brother Ernie and sisters.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Good Morning Friends,

Another wildfire had broke out in Lake County again, this makes the 3rd fire there. Two of my friend's were evacuated, one had to leave her beautiful motorcycle behind :(
Got up this morning and it is so smoky I didn't spend much time in my hot tub. Today will be a work inside the house day.
Some pics from the Valley Fire

Pray for California, we need lots of rain

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, sorry to hear you are going through so much.

Cindy, please be careful.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Both of these fires are far away from us. But everything is so dry everywhere that it's instant combustion!!! I freak out because one of our neighbor's has a HUGE pile of dried up trees surrounded by 4 ft high dried up weeds.

It is so smoky now the sun can not shine through, looks as if we are going to have a storm which we could really use right now!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I think I would take the hose and accidentally get them wet.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh my - that's scary! yes, wet those leaves down..... HOW far away are those fires from you?!?!?!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Friends!
There are 3 major fires burning around us two of them are West of us about a 2 to 3 hour drive. The other one is East and about a 2 hour drive. But with the winds we are getting a lot of ashes and smoke. The Valley fire that started Saturday destroyed a whole town in just 2 hours :( over 1,000 homes gone and businesses. So many animals running around it is just devastating. But there are a lot of good hearted ppl offering to help with shelter for animals, and places for ppl to stay. However there is one motel in Lake County (Where Ron lives) that is taking advantage of ppl and charging $300 a night to rent a room! How cold hearted is that? Jeez! some ppl are saying BOYCOT!!!! his motel.

Here is a link telling about all 3 fires http://www.weather.com/news/news/california-wildfires-valley-fire-butte-fire

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

The Valley fire was such a fast moving fire that most ppl didn't have a chance to save anything. These guys were able to save their horses. If there's a will there's a way, lol
