glad IRS is off your back - I suppose that they're "on your back" for the normal taxes, and nothing to do with Retirement funds anymore.

Grace & her son Ryan came to collect Remy, and she was not sure she could come by at 7:30 tonight, but I told her she must - we need to talk. She's got a really bad cold from the heat in Malaysia, I'm sure. It won't get much better any time soon, because we had frost here last night.
They need to come to see us. That's 5 hours from now, so hopefully they will realize they need to get some rest by then.

I'm here .. almost wasn't, but, wasn't 'my time'

Last Thursday, I got a call from a friend/colleague .. she is a Midwife ..deals with pregnancies that are chancy ..
She had been called to go 'up north' to check on a high risk Mom and, fly her back here .. she was to get a partner .. she couldn't find anyone (holiday weekend) .. so, . I said I'd go with .. have delivered 4 babies on my own .. and, am kinda comfortable with the whole deal ..
Got to the airport, got on a very small plane .. and, off we went to Wunnimun Lake .. well.. sorta .. it was H O T .. and, the little plane didn't want to F L Y.
Long story short .. Mom gave birth Saturday .. and, we flew her and Mom back here on Sunday .. I was shattered all day Monday, and, am just now coming around
More later .. sorry to have missed Barbs BDay ...............

Just spoke to my BIL, Glen - Alice is in the palliative care area of the hospital - end of days.
Glen goes in for chemo tomorrow.
Being so far away, all I could do was send a hospital email through the "well wishes" section of their website to Alice.

Omg "M" will indeed take a bit to calm your nerves..those small planes are nerve racking to say the least..you get on and doubtful you get off after been shaken to and fro..
Glad to see you post..old mother hens that we are! What a high it must gave been being part of the delivery.

Keeping fingers crossed Susan, bet you are on pins and needles

Rattler Katie, that we have here as well..actually where I used to live, about 10 miles away is beausoleil island 'rattlesnake sanctuary) always amazed me it's a provincial park and camping us aloud.

In this heat poor Max must have been extremely hot, thankfully you found him

Was awake just before 4am, guess who can hardly keep her eyes open?

Wow! "M" that was quite the adventure, can sure see why you are exhausted both mentally and physically.

I've only been at one childbirth, other than my own, It's quite the spectacle from the other end. When my oldest daughter had her third, fate conspired to let make me be the lucky one, even cut his cord, and ultimately named him.

Susan hoping all gets settled tonight, it has to be draining just thinking about it.
So sorry you are having all the heartache for your sister and cannot be there.

my daughter Michelle says she doesn't see that Alice is on her "death bed". She's clinging to the hope that Alice will return home, and that the fact she's there is due to the fact that Glen is sick (lung cancer) and can't look after his wife well right now.

I got some special dog treats for the puppies for their birthday.

Housekeeper and landscapers were both here today and everything looks good.

I actually got out of bed at 10am. Had to to let the housekeeper into the house. But I hopped into the shower and then all was well. I guess I just need to force myself out of bed and immediately take a shower. Get the motor going. We shall see how I do tomorrow.

Marilyn, small planes are very scary. So glad you came back safely. Just do not do that again.

Vern told me just before dinner that he had not felt well all day. Said he thought maybe he had not eaten enough. He had cold cereal for breakfast instead of my normal gourmet breakfast. Probably did not put enough cereal in his bowl. Should not have let him do it himself. I always make our bed before the housekeeper gets into the master bedroom. I have a big problem if I cannot get my top sheet and blanket up to the top of my ears. Just weird that way.

I went to Costco and what a mad house. They were closed yesterday for Labor Day and I could not believe the crowd. Bought some baby back ribs and some beef short ribs. Oh my, prices have gone up. Good thing I do not have a big family to feed.

Betty, very productive day. Loved your quilt. You are so talented.

Katie, so glad you found your dog. So sorry about your bite. We are actually hoping Linda makes her way up our way.

Susan, I cannot believe you have not met with your landlords yet. They are putting their heads in the sand and hoping the problems will go away.

Betty, myself and a few of our friends are talking about moving to Canada to get away from our current and up coming political situations. None of the above looks like a good choice.

You all have a good day. Hugs, Sharon

As always .. lots happening on the thread ..

Sharon, so great to se you posting .. and, you sound 'upbeat' :-)
I so hope the heat dissipates for your area soon ..
I gotta tell ya, being as far NORTH as I was, and, experiencing such brutally HOT temps was mind boggling ..
The Natives were saying it is very strange .. the nursing station we were based from had air conditioning in 2 of the 5 rooms .. when Mom went into labour, we at least had a cooler room for the delivery ..
Anyway, enjoy your clean house and tidy gardens :-)

Betty .. love the quilt (s) .. and the woodwork ..
Thank you for worrying .. I think I got maybe one email off the whole time I was gone ..
DH kept wanting me to 'go fishing' LoL .. the native fellas would have given us fish, but, with the heat, well, I would have been nervous
7 hours on the plane as it kept heating up .. gads, never again !!!!!!!!!!!

Susan .. thoughts and prayers for your meeting, and, your sister and B in L

Time to get the 'Stephenson train' back on track today .. starting with an apple pie :-)

Hugs all around

~M~ ..
