Hooray for wonderful Christian people and the school helping Levi and the family out, Thunder - makes you realize how wonderful people are. It will take time for the girls to adjust.
How wonderful that there's a home nearby for them to move into - the girls and Meg will have familiar neighbours around them, and it will make the adjustment that much easier.
How long will Meg be in hospital, do you know?

It's not a problem unique to Canada Betty. I so far do not see a candidate to vote for in our next elections. So far all I see are making a mockery of our Presidency. If I want clowns, I'll go to the circus.

Pain is still here. I got a tube of pain cream from the Dr. today. It has gabapentin in it. I can use it up to 4 times a day. I hope it works.

Dianne had all my teeth removed and dentures put in same day, was a winch compared to a few years later when eye and wisdom teeth had to be removed..remember it well, I was watching astronauts land on the moon that day, was far worse than all others combined. They were breaking through and every so often would catch in my dentures..Sooo glad that is all behind me.

Never heard of gavapentin Lindakay, must be some salve, to only have you use it 4 times daily..might take a few days for you to see a difference.

Car goes back next Friday to get the wiper motor put in, in the meantime here is hoping I have no trouble. Stopped and did groceries, saves me gong out in that zoo tomorrow, last long weekend and with this heat it will be wild ..also went to get ink cartridges for my printer..paid $39.99 for printer last weekend and $47.95 + tax for ink cartridges today..shaking my head at the logic of that

cant believe how stupid I was earlier, I had the curling iron in earlier to do my hair before my going out, grabbed the hot barrel vs handle, why I'd do something like that I don't know

Got all the fixing for spaghetti, want to make a big batch to have when the gals come over the Sunday afternoon that Joyce and the girls come..lot easier to make it now and freeze

Supper is waiting, then bath and early night...best I wait till at least 7:00pm, Rita has company and can't some tonight so hoping the other two won't either but best I not take chances, will wait till 7:05 lol if not here then Betty byes it is

Grrrr I just had to tell the person that bought a cottage on the lane that NO she can't parade her grandchildren and her dog down passed by . She was not too happy but the boys and I don't need the confusion. I pointed out that there was over a mile on the lane north of me. Their deeds show they were given the right to go from the township road to their cottage/home.

Maybe you should have 2-3 doses Dianne, hard explaining your rights to someone who sees mega land as walking trails.

LK .. Gord had Gabapentin cream for his shingles, mixed with lidocaine .. for him, well, very little relief
Lorna took Gabapentin capsules for 3 years for nerve pain in her stump .. worked for her, but, after 3 years the effects wore off ..

Betty ..I made a huge container of pea soup for when the folks come .. now that Lorna will be staying on til the end of Oct., that won't be until November..

Here it is just after 8 pm and it is pitch black out there. Wasn't so long ago it was light until after 9.pm.

Oh M I love pea soup with ham.. It's green pea soup that I can't tolerate. I think it's because that was t 1 of the things my sweet dad was fed through his feeding tube. Just the sight of it on the shelf makes me gag.

I am showered and in bed - over tired but can't seem to fall asleep. Think I might watch the dvd
McFarland.it has Costner in it. A true story so am looking forward to watching it.

Just don't understand how I had all my top teeth pulled and little pain. These bottom 2 are making up for it. I see Doc on Tues to have my sutures removed..

Played hookey from work today, went with my daughter and granddaughter (son's daughter) to the Walworth county fair in Wisconsin. Had a great time, but it was sooooo hot! She enjoyed the animals and the rides. It was nice going on a weekday and avoiding the weekend crowds!

Yes they will all need new quilts. I'm going to try to do some simple patch work, to get them something done fast. Then I will work on more special ones., as time and money permit.

I had fleece blankets at my house that they always used when they came to visit, I brought those up with me, along with some toys I had. So they have some familiar items.

Everything passed with the city inspector, so I'm good there. He did mention a piece of flashing that he felt should be nailed better, roofer is supposed to redo that this weekend.

Are you doing this trip on your own Deb? How many hours drive..your car after all these miles will be glad to be sitting in the yard. Good news about the work being passed! Should be a lot of traffic on the road this weekend so be safe!

Neighbour came in, her push lawnmower gave up, she was trying to get her and herMIL' s frOnt and backyards done for the weekend asked if she could borrow my push mower..she just brought it back, said she couldn't believe the difference in having a self propelled.

Hi Everyone - Major lifting of depression yesterday. Thank goodness as this morning has been spent dealing with money, BofA, transfer of money, awareness of long weekend, etc. etc and so forth.

Helper has been here and is doing a good job.

Puppy has fleas - a frequent result of poor nutrition - and needs a bath. She is cute - small, black and terrier - is there such a thing as a rat terrier. Well, there is now. She's also very smart. The other dogs have growled at her now and then but no serious fights.

I'm exhausted from the bank stuff and need to give Inky Dink a bath.

So glad to hear Meg is doing well. I worked with the Red Cross after the Oakland firestorm. It was strange as most everyone had lost everything. With a disaster like that there is usually a bell curve of minor loss to "lost everything." In the firestorm most everyone lost everything. Made for a very strange working atmosphere. Very surreal.

P.S. BofA got an online company with misleading advertising to refund $7.95. Not sure the money was worth the effort but I was annoyed at the misleading advertising and figure they get away with it cause many people won't fuss about that amount. I did. kb

Forgot to drop into the dollar store to pick up big containers for all this spaghetti sauce ..stopped at foodland, it was a zoo for zip lock bags, drats purchased veggie ones with holes in them, big sigh, don't want to go out tonight so will try to find room in the refrigerator for the 2 posts of sauce and go in the a.m.

I think Todd and I are driving about an hour north, to go spend a few hours with my son and his family at a camp site. It is Rorys birthday.

Had a wonderful shopping trip with Norm today. Bought a bit of everything. Fabrics for the snowflake swap, threads and needles for the purses. Then off and got three blouses, a turtleneck top and a couple pair of jeans. Then a new hairbrush and curling iron. You know, all the piddling little stuff that goes and you forget to replenish. Got some memory sticks to download pictures. Oh, Betty, I also got my glass block for the Christmas project. Could you please tell me what I need for lights so I can get them early? The more I get now, the less I need to fight the shoppers for later. LOL It was a fun day for us. Now I am completely wiped out so off to rest and read for a while.

Omg Barb you are on top of things, good for you..not only doing some things you love but got to spend it with Norm..I envy you. What did you end up paying for the glass block? Will take a photo and put it on the workshop thread.

Storm just blew in, light and sound show, wow is it coming down, didn't have to water gardens after all..a good thing I got the ditches done or I'd not have been able to tomorrow.

I have to say I put in one heck of a day, yard looks spiffy..quilt is ready to take off the frame and I'm reading the wedding pattern so I have an idea what remains to be purchased.

I just cut the top of my right index finger on an agave plant. I was attacking the Bermuda grass which is trying to make a comeback in my outside agave border. The agave did not appreciate my efforts. Maybe my blood will fertilize it. I did get a lot of the Bermuda grass, digging to get the roots.

Helper has been here a lot and is doing a good job on our new "back 40." I visited neighbor Barbara this morning and she has need of a helper for some yard work so we told him about it. I'm happy to have another good worker and to be able to give him referrals. This time of year there isn't a lot of work. The little store where he buys a snack for lunch was closed so I made lunch for him. We're very short of cash right now but we have food and clothes. I gave him a fan last week. He asked if he could buy one from me. Knowing how short he is of money and how long I am on "stuff" I gave it to him free.

Big poker game coming up. I need to get the dogs fed. Little Inky Dinky is fitting in well with the rest of the pack. There was a song that went "When at night I go to sleep, fourteen angels watch do keep, Two my head protecting, two my feet directing.." I think it was from "Hansel and Gretel" and goes way back to my childhood. Now when I lie down to sleep I have one dog on my right hand, one on my left hand and one at my feet. Scout keeps watch outside.
