Didn't think you were, was referring to such situations that do go to court...
Yep, nice I bet thinking you will soon be back 'home'. Bet you never want to hear the word move again.
Nobody won at bingo, one of the little gals got down to 1 number for the $500 game..was so hoping but no go
Been a long day so bed is calling
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
Lorna's move here was a fiasco .. 2 wees o get here from Toronto .. items missing and broken , she complained, and, was told that she signed a contract, and, within its EIGHT pages, were clauses dealing with damage .. quite simply .. HER problem . outrageous .. but, these people were cut throat.
Off to the hospital in a bit .. Lorna is having a cortisone shot to her knee .. and .. NOT going back to work as before .. she will rest her leg ..
Maybe go to Staples and get a monitor ..
TTYL
~M~
Morning,
Waking with thoughts of Thunder and her family, prayers being said..
"m" staples has excellent sales right now, was her old one a flat screen?
Going to be another scorcher of a day
Long weekend coming up, mom called and asked if she could come up for the weekend, I'm going to the city Sunday but yes come up..likely come Friday
Anything planned for your weekend..imagine, next long weekend wifi be early October..our thanksgiving
Tummy says I'm hungry
oh, that's CLOSE - 1 number..... a nailbiter for sure!!
Marilynne - with all the moves under my belt, you'd have thought I was all over being surprised by how little people care for other's things, but saying that, this was one of the worst moves we've done. Once, I had the two movers screaming at each other - according to one, the other should just get over it, have a heart attack & die, and according to the older one, the younger man was lazy & shiftless. I stood in the middle of the street and screamed at the two of them to respect ME and just get on with the move!! I can't remember all that happened with the company, but I called them up when we arrived at our new place and gave them a piece of my mind!!
I cannot remember so much stuff being broken as in this move, however. Telling me my stuff was old, is unforgivable. Stuff that was gouged was new (3 years old) and an antique piano is not "old and damage expected during the move". It was built in 1874, for pete's sake!
btw - Miracle Movers is all through Canada - I would not recommend them to anyone.
yes, long weekend coming up and apparently Bob will get some extra time off, because he worked last Saturday. His hours have changed from 7:30 to 5, now it's 10 - 6. He's getting "trained up" for more duties, because the current warehouse manager (Ker) is hoping to move to do more work at the client's, and it's becoming clear that the company also wants Bob to be the Warehouse Manager (no raise in pay though). Bob would do much better with Ker out of the picture.
This year has passed way to fast.
Just found out last night that I'm driving to Philly this Sunday. Planning on breeding one of my girls, who is due in season any day now, and the owner of the stud dog told me she is travelling for her job most of the month. Talked to her last night and found out this coming Monday, is her only day off before she travels for two weeks, then she's on a family vacation for another two weeks. So, I'm heading east on Sunday, she will meet me just west of Philly on Monday morning, and I'll bring her dog home with me for the month. That will be interesting, but hopefully it will work out OK, and everyone will get along. If not, it's adding another gate or two to keep them separate.
My daughter, granddaughter and I had planned to go to a county fair in Wisconsin on Sunday, so trying to figure out how to reschedule that. Fair starts today, but my daughter works tonight, and Saturday. I need to see if she works Thurs or Fri, if she's off one day I'll just take a vacation day. We always went to this fair when I was a kid, and I took my kids there every year growing up. Kylee had a great time last year, so I really want to do this.
(((Thunder)))) Sending big hugs and many prayers and thoughts your way.
And also for all in need of same....what a time this has been for many.
Debbie
Oh Thunder I am so sorry for- your son and his family.I was going to have a fire tonight and some sage. Sending positive prayers and positive thoughts and vibes to your family.
Well my 1hour appointment at the dentist turned into a bit over 2 hours.w
i teeth on the lower pulled, plus .11 sutures and major pain. When I had all the uppers there was not as painful. Doc told me if they kept on bleeding to place a tea bag on the tooth oh joy!
BBL need to catch up/
D
Ouch. Lower teeth usually have deeper roots to pull. I hope you heal quickly.
Drats Dianne, sure hope the pain subsides! Can you believe Meadpford craft show is just a month away.. Bet you think about those days and miss the.
Debbie, hugs, so nice to see you post, how have you been feeling?
Deb, that's another long trip for you, here is hoping the male gets along with your furries.
Breeding isn't as easy as one would think
Lindakay, seems we just started it doesn't it
Ugh for my morning, been having problems with my quilting machine, had to pull 5" of quilting out Grrr hint it's the bobbin casing acting up, ordered a new one..expedited to Barrie if they have one in stock
Went to start the car, deader than a door nail so I will drive it to the repair shop and Greg will drive me home..he has a 4:30 meeting with staff so will call when he is done and I'll drive into town
Seems everything I try this morning goes wrong. Big sigh
Good news, Meg is doing better. Though still in icu. House is a total loss. Kids doing pretty good. My son is numb. So glad we came as soon as we did. He knows we have the kids taken care of, so he can deal with everything else.
We met at the house today, David went in with Levi. Fire started at breaker box in wall, in master bedroom. Went through walls very fast. Melted all kinds of things. If meg had not been awake. ... they'd probably all be dead. It's an absolute miracle.
Thanks for the prayers. They are appreciated.
Prayers continue. Glad to hear Meg is better. Remember the American Red Cross if you haven't contacted them already.
I perked up yesterday afternoon and got some gardening work done. Errands in town today. Visited at the hardware store for planter supplies and saw friends I hadn't seen in a while. This weather is hard on everyone.
I will probably go north in about a week. Must pick up the pain meds - new regulations won't allow them to mail them. I'm asking around to maybe find a person who will share the driving and gas costs. Mostly the driving, if necessary as it is tiring. If no company I'll just take my time.
Dianne, sorry about the pain. I remember one root canal that really did me in. No fun at all but it passes - especially with lots of pain meds.
hugs, Katie
blessed be the Lord Thunder, he was watching over your loved ones..what a fright for you
Things and home can be replaced, not so with those precious people...here is hoping some good comes to it. Can well imagine Levi being numb, just the worry..thankfully you were there to help out. Will the kids come back with you for a bit?
Katie sure hope you can find someone to go with you..you are not even over your last trip and here you must go again, not a wonder you can't rebuild your strength..enjoy the visit with friends
so glad that Meg was awake - the Lord sent an angel to watch over them.
Are they insured?
Katie - glad to hear you perked up yesterday :-)
Betty - did you get your car on a trickle charger - is that how you're able to drive it to the repair shop?
T's family remain in my thoughts and prayers ,, good news re Meg ..
Betty .. holy cow, nothing worse as an unreliable vehicle .. I had a Firebird who I called , 'Phyllis' .. Phyllis was one of those SURPRISE vehicles .. it'd be ok for months, and then, things would happen .. very disturbing ..
Well .. guess what ..?? DH bought a brand new truck !! e has been kind of secretive (not easy for him) .. I thought he had his eye on a new rifle ...
But nope .. he bought beaut .. I have pics, have to get them off my phone ..
It's a 2016 GMC Sierra Kodiak .. really nice metallic mocha colour ..
Not long on her .. my arthritis has hit my left shoulder HARD!!!!!!!!! Can hardly lift it ..
Lorna's cortisone shot worked (fingers crossed) ..
May BBL ..
~M~
Glad to hear the shot is working. Let's pray it keeps working.
Can't wait to see pictures of the new truck.
Sounds like Betty might be shopping for a new vehicle as well?
Just talked to my sister Alice. She's the one with lung, brain, and liver cancer, and her husband (Glen) has rectal and now has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Very small tumours.
At this point Alice is in a wheelchair only - one for inside and one for outside. It's just a matter of time - weeks, until she passes. She tells me not to send flowers, or come to visit her now.
Alice has always been my rock, and now she can't talk longer than 10 minutes before she has to go lay down for a nap.
Please, my prayer warriors - pray for Alice & Glen.
They live in Winnipeg.
Just got back from town, Greg brought me home, no car for me, they will chech to see what is draining the battery, they believe motor on back wipers, they are doubtful it's alternator..Greg is friends with guy who owns the shop and mechanic.. If not ready by Friday I will use Mel's car as they are all heading camping in Tobermory, even Jeff so wouldn't be without a vehicle.
Susan, fixed a few things for Jamie next door, wouldn't take $$$ said one day I'd need something, today was the day, he boosted my car.
"m" I've seen the Sierra Kodiak, nice wheels..glad shot is helping Lorna..likely humidity doing a number on your shoulder, sure is with my knees and hip...like the tropics out there, wow, didn't look at what the temp was, must do
Had just warmed up supper when Greg called, just rewarded it again, think I'll be walking over to the restaurant, overdid it! Lol
Little corner store/restaurant is getting new facelift, guy from Greece who doesn't speak English was cleaning up cement in wheel barrel before he calls it a day..went over to tell him I needed my hose as one of the ponds needs a bit of water, not sure he understood what I was trying to say..hoping he doesn't think I don't want him to use it..told him with a big smile so he didn't think I was upset about his having hose for almost two weeks
Oone all is okay, he must have understood, hose now in the pond lol
Will add them to my prayer list..she is trying to spare you Susan, all very sad.
How is your mom doing? Alice's death will hit her hard
My mom's doing pretty well for 96 :-)
She knows Alice is ill, but not how ill. She doesn't know the prognosis is so short a time frame. Alice decided that it would do Mom no good to know this. It's up to Alice, of course.
Mom's in a care home, and once when Alice & Ruth came to visit, Mom knew that Alice couldn't do stairs so they met in a common room on the main floor. Don't think Mom knows that Alice is in a wheelchair, like she is.
she will be overwhelmed I'm sure to get the news when she had no idea of just how bad things were..
unfortunately, I think Alice is right, but it's not my story to tell, regardless
Alice would be her first child to pass....... other than a baby less a year old, when she was a young woman.
My grandmother lost 5 before passing on at 99
She was able to say goodbye to all and accept that dying is part of living.
Managed to get about half of the quilt components done to the hockey quilt top, will finish it off tomorrow after I print more photo's
Tired, know it's early but going to call it a day, even if I don't fall asleep I can relax and play games on my ipad
Was getting 'memcache cannot connect for a bit'
Small glitch as here I am lol
Me too Betty. They must be "fixing" it again.
When I get that error, sometimes I just have to scroll 2 pages worth down
Just came in first in a speed poker game and won another $20!!!
hugs, katie
Yay for you.
Well there is some gas $$$ for your trip
Keeping your sister and BinL in my T & Ps Susan .. your Mom as well ..
My Mom lived through the death of my oldest brother .. she passed 2 years later, and, I am sure it was of a broken heart .. she wasn't anywhere near as aged as your Mom ..
Betty, sorry to hear about your car! Yipes .. I sue do hope they find the problem ,,
Lorna is still happy with her shot, a GOOD thing, as, the last 2 have not worked ... I think staying off work and being a bit less active for a day was a good thing ..
Today she goes to the dental Hygienist .. then into work, and, I go to have my splint made .. I do believe it'll be my first ride in DH new truck :-)
Still very warm here .. muggy too ...
Dianne .. jeeze .. I feel for ya girl, hope today is a better day ..
Good one Katie .. Lorna is still talking about flopping the Royal Flush ... I like Texas Hold'em .. but haven't got the knack for it .. I'm an 'ALL IN' kinda gal LoL
Attaching 2 pics of the truck .. not very good ones as it was so sunny ..
TOODLES
~M~
Meg got moved to a regular room! !! We had a quick visit with the girls, easy to see it tired her out very quickly.
Miracles continue, they have friends that live a few streets away from there home, well friends just bought new house and have moved, so other place is available, rent paid, for month of September.
They have been told , as soon as they have a place to put them, someone has beds for the girls.
Meg's sister set up a go fund me, and someone gave an anonymous donation of $1000.00
Malena school is collecting clothes, and a friends church also.
Feels good knowing they really will be alright.
Tried to explain a bit about insurance to Malena, as every time she thinks of things, a toy, a dress, etc.... she cries about it being gone. Trying to tell her she will get much of it back, only will take a bit of time.
Friends of both Levi and Malena coming from Massachusetts for the weekend, to help go through the house and see what can be saved.
It is totally awesome! !
One blessing after another :)
So happy Meg is on the up side. Poor kids, hard for them to comprehend losing everything. As their world gets back on track, they will begin to feel better. Fire is so devastating, what ever survives is likely ruined, and of course some things are not replaceable.
Morning all,
88 and feels like 97 in my neighborhood, another inside day!
Thunder what great news, am sure it will take Meg some time to heal and likely the shock will set her back a bit as well..there are so many 'earthly Angels' out there, wonderful they are helping out. How long will you sta?
More prayers being said.
"m" love the color of the truck..hurrah about Lorna's shot is working..did the cemetery board ever get back to her re working later than usual?
Thank heaven Meg is doing so well. And that all these wonderful people are coming through for Levi and all the family. I just wish people were like this all the time instead of just when tragedy strikes. What a world it would be!!! Malena will be fine in a while. She won't forget but the good that comes from all this will outweigh the bad. Try to make an adventure out of replacing things if you can. Many years ago my ex and I took in a family of six that had been burnt out. I can remember taking one child at a time to get what it was that they missed the most. Helped a great deal with their healing. My prayers continue.....
Thunder, can you give us the link for the gofundme page. Maybe on Facebook so we can share and get you more help.
Glad to hear she is feeling better.
Great suggestion about making it it a game Barb, yes getting back their most prized possession would give them a sense of well being..
I was about 6 when our home burnt, can't remember much about it except for the hours before the fire, my grandpa whittling a doll for me and losing my pet budgie..
The TV station that did the episode on Levi's homecoming, could they be contacted and maybe follow suit with a follow up story which would bring in more help??
Garage called, said there was nothing they could see that was drawing power enough to kill the battery..the motor is seized for back windshield blade so they are thinking it is that..I can pick up car as they will disconnect the back wiper, or fader new motor and call me when it is in
Have 4 more quilt blocks to do, thinking that might finish off what I need for hockey quilt..ex DIL Lisa is busy getting her class ready for Tuesday (she is a teacher) and Braedon and Caleb going camping with Jeff, Greg and family tomorrow so I will set everything back in the hockey tote until Lisa can find some time and get me a few more photo's
Time to tidy up the craft room, looks like a disaster.
My first time over here. Read about Thunder's son's family on Dave's Garden and had to find out how Meg was doing. I feel so bad for all, but so happy to hear Meg is doing a lot better. So many wonderful people coming to their aid. Sending a lot of hugs & prayers their way. Definitely earthly angels responding to their needs.
