Betty, just reading what you do every day is exhausting. I am slowly getting back to normal. I actually did a little bit of gardening today. Fed Vern and the animals and the dogs got two walks. That is about it for the day. I am so looking forward to be back to the energizer bunny.
Susan, good luck on your meeting with your landlord.
Katie, you and your dogs make me smile. I totally understand your battle with bermuda grass. The area I now live in that monster is not allowed. I think it will grow in concrete without water. I am so glad you got an additional helper. You have such a giving heart and you are a blessing to your workers.
Vern is doing good but still has difficulty walking. He has in home physical therapy 3 times a week and it is helping. We have an appointment with the Neurologist on the 22nd. It will be nice to ask some questions and hopefully get some answers.
We are still hot and I am so ready for cooler weather. And so is my garden.
My granddaughter is getting married October 10th. First granddaughter getting married. I have absolutely nothing to do but show up. Wedding planner ding all of the hard work. I do have to supply snacks for family between the wedding and the reception. Wedding at 1pm and reception is at 7pm. I have no idea what I am going to serve. And I need to go shopping for a dress.
Marilyn, hope you had a great visit with your son and family.
I know I have missed a lo of you but I read every day and think kind thoughts for all of you. I just need to get back to my drug induced normal self.
I have been watching the news and watching all of these people trying to get to safety from Syria. What a tragedy. Just breaks your heart to watch.

lol Katie - that nursery rhyme sounds cute - will have to google it.
Sharon - our landlords didn't come home - they called tonight asking Bob to pick them up at the airport (3/4 of an hour away) at 12:15am Tues! Bob works the next day, so he said no. With 4 people and 8 bags, they may have to get 2 taxis, or crowd everything in one, but there's no way Bob needs to be heading home at 12:30 and get home at 1:15am, and up at 6:00........ We're not their friends or relatives - we're their tenants!
Anyway - we won't see them until later, and Marcel (our tenant) says he'll come by and see us before they do, tomorrow.

Another couple of days peace, Susan!!
I'm sitting here waiting for Kathy and Michael to rise and shine. They wanted to leave while it was still dark, but they better wake soon if they want that to happen. I was afraid I'd miss them so I've been up since 5 drinking coffee. I don't think the traffic will be too bad today. Tomorrow will be the pits though!!
I ran Kathy all over creation yesterday. It sure was fun to have her here.
Sue was going to try to get together with us so she could meet Kathy. Timing just didn't work out though.
Well, my friends Sherry, Kathy W., Sharon and I have booked a cruise for the first part of Nov. we'll be going on the Princess cruise line to Costa Maya and Cozumel. Should be great fun!!
This month I get to see Betty in Canada. Next month I'll go with Sherry to Nashville to dachshund sit for her BIL and SIL for a week and the cruise in November. Bet I'll have to really save for Christmas in between all those trips!
Planning on a trip to see Kathy in Alabama in February and the Philadelphia Flower Show in March. So I'm looking forward to 2016, too!
I got another hamper condo yesterday because there are many more Monarch catapillers on my milkweed. In less than a week the ones that are in chrysalides should emerge. I'm so anxious to see that happen!
Waving to everyone! Hugs all around!
You roadrunner you Joyce, they are great gals to run the roads with.
Thought Kathy and her hubby were staying all weekend..where did you take her?how long of a drive is it to her home?? Likely about same as to here. Boy it will be butterfly heaven in your yard..you said they migrate back to their birthplace?
Sharon, great news that Vern is better and that you are on an up swing ..as for my being energetic I do so so I will not seize up...big sigh. I also will be glad for better weather.
My neighbor who has a nephew here from Greece doing stucco on the building thanked me for giving him a neck coolant..he said that our weather is cooler than in Greece, yikes, don't think I'd be visiting in their summer time.
It sure is a facelift , he put boards about 5" from the window, I wondered what he was doing, well he added his cement mixture and raised it like it was a frame..he said that they were at a standstill till Nonday as the woodworker on the other side of the mall was away for the weekend and so they couldn't cut the design board they needed for the corner design..wi said get it for me and I will cut it, expression on his face was priceless, you my sweetheart?? Yep
How surprised he was when minutes later I came out with the design boart cut to measure lol
Susan, glad you spoke up and said Bob could not pick them up, you are right, you are tenant and not a go for.
Lindakay, how was the visit with the kids?
Going to feels like 100 today, means if I want to rake in front of the grate in the ditch I'd best do it early.
I can barely move this morning, even my arms are hurting...shaking my head
Visit with the kids was awesome. It was Rory's 11th birthday. He is growing so fast.
Just popping in to say a quick hello, and send many hugs.
Meg still has very scratchy voice, coughing a lot. Using inhalers.
We are staying a few more days, so they can look for houses, without the girls.
Love Y'All
Barb, Have a happy happy birthday. Betting you will, I think you get the same kind of spoiling I do.
Singing birthday song as well Barb, off key but heck I'm trying..anything special going on today to celebrate, another outing with Norm?? My grandfathers birthday today as well, he is long gone but I remember good times.
Thunder is Meg out of the hospital? Glad you can spend a few more days, they appreciate it I'm sure.
Lindakay, he will soon be a teen, amazing how quickly they become young men.
Think the rain passed us on by, hope it's not in Tobermory so the kids can enjoy another day of sunshine. I should have packed me little trailer and gone with them ...hmm perhaps next year.
Rita called me about 1/2 hr ago, she has had company since Thursday, expecting last of them to leave this morning..asked me if I wanted to take a drive to meaford is she does leave..would be nice to do at least one thing over labour day weekend other than work so yes, if before noon we will take a run
Happy birthday Barb.
Yes Meg out of hospital. They are staying at a fisher house on post. Private sitting room, private bedroom, community living room, community dining room, community kitchen. Nice place.
Thank you all dear friends. It has been a nice relaxing day and Norm's doing me a steak for dinner. Heard from the family so all is good.
Glad to read Meg is doing so well. She is most fortunate. Hope all works out for housing. Enjoy your time with them Thunder. They won't forget that Mom and Dad were there for them.....
Happy birthday, Barb. Glad you are having a good weekend.
Inky Dink is doing fine. Still very hot and humid for all of us.
Very glad to here Meg is out of the hospital and recovering. It will take some time for the shock to wear off - for everyone.
hugs, katie
Happy belated Birthday, Barb!
Yes, a couple more days peace. Bob's going to hang a blanket or something at the bottom of the stairs until they put a door in there, as soon as they return.
Morning everyone. Are you all sleeping in?
Nope, up early actually, have a house full of company.
Morning,
Another gorgeous day here, not as hot and humid..might even make it outside for a bit and work at deadheading the back garden.
Have the quilt off the rack, going to hand sew, I find that relaxing, not so sure the pain I've been in isn't the sciatic nerve so just going to baby myself.
Betty, that sciatic nerve can be fixed. Go see your Dr.
Going to make an appointment..paining like the dickens..
Betty - glad you're going to have that looked at.......
Glad to hear you will call the Dr. Back surgeries are pretty easy to get through. I had mine April of 2001, and in May I was able to drive.
Shannon had a shot of steroids in hers, and is helping that region.
She is one of the lucky ones, that the shots worked.
I had the shot and no more sciatic pain but still have the miserable muscle pain in the same leg. But now I am back on my meds, that pain is dissipating. Now if I could just my get and go back. And English garden does not look good growing wildly.
Happy Birthday Barb, a day late.
We had 103 temp today and 105 tomorrow. ENOUGH......September is usually a beautiful month in the desert but not this year.
My housekeeper had to cancel today and will be here tomorrow. But that was actually a good thing because Vern and I stayed in bed until 11am. I know, very sinful but my body is protesting the heat and I am hiding from the world. And if I stayed in bed all day, so would Vern.
This to shall pass.
Betty, your family found a neat place to be.
As you can see not much going on here. Puppies birthday is Wednesday. They will be 4. They are so ready for cooler weather. We still take two walks but they are shorter because of the heat.
I will return. I am going to watch Masterpiece Mystery I recorded last night. I love English TV.
Hugs to you all. Sharon
Morning all,
Girls are coming today, I'm unable to sleep so thinking of getting up, early morning but if I'm going to lay here watching tv might as well be up..
"m" sure hope all is well in your neighborhood..not like you to not post
Sharon, been weeks of same weather here, we are not used to such extreme heat, spent most of the time indoors, can't imagine what you and Lindakay have to endure for months on end.
Amazing how the body says enough, rest you must..not shameful at all, envy your late sleep in.
"m" has birthday cake for her pooches, do you do same.
Debbie, great seeing you post as well, how are things in your neck of the woods, feeling better? Paul back to work?
Susan, I imagine today will be stressful for you, talk day with landlord, maybe ithey've thought it out and thinking same so might go well, here is hoping.
If I've missed you this a.m. I'll catch up in a bit!
Good morning all,
Off to the mountains today for a couple of days. It will be cooler there and less humidity. Very humid here the next few days so good to get away.
Have sold three purses with orders for three more. Going fairly well I think.
I love the quilt Betty. The colors are very restful.
Glad to read Shannon is doing better and hope you get a date soon LK. Would a shot work for you Betty?
Waving to all and keeping you all in my prayers as Norm is ready to hit the road..~~~~~~~
I'm sure it's too late for you to see this Barb, have a wonderful time. Is this your birthday trip?
The heat bothers me too but not as much as the cold. My old body doesn't seem to be able to deal with either extreme. The high humidity now makes it even worse. It's won't be much longer and I will be complaining of the cold so best be quiet about heat.
I love all the company and hate it when they leave,on the other hand I do get so tired. Not so much from doing as they all jump in and handled it all, I guess just from being around so much activity.
Was just going to post, hear car doors closing, girls are here, got to run
Sharon - glad the shots are working, and that HEAT......... yikes!!!
yes, DO you have b-day cake for the pups?
Betty - thank you for thinking of us - yes, stressful. I forgot to put the email to them asking for us to meet on "read receipt". Hope they got it. They arrived home at 1:30. Bob heard the car doors before I did - they would have taken a taxi (or two). They turned the heat on right away - now, because they're so used to extreme heat, they've got it blasting. We're not used to having "real heat" in here - they'd left an oil-filled portable heater, which lightly warmed the place. Now it's like a blast furnace. What a difference..........!!!
Hang in and hang n, Susan. You are not alone/ Lots of us have your back. And Bob's.
hugs, katie
Thank you, Katie :-)
Just waiting for an answer back on my email, asking when they want Remy back, and to confirm our meeting with them at 7:30 tonight. I know they're up, but they don't read their emails often. I don't feel like talking to her beforehand.
Betting they know why you want a meeting and are avoiding the issue.
Likely - they haven't even checked on Remy - she knows I'm up, so it's not that.
Last night, when they came home, they were pretty quiet, except they opened the door at the top of the stairs (to check if we were up I suppose) and there was a small slam of the door when she saw the privacy curtain and she went back into her suite (it wouldn't have been anyone other than her, that's for certain - Robert and the boys only come to our door)
Well let's hope your meeting goes well tonight.
Barb enjoy your few days away
Deb, you back?
"m" going to send out the DG police if you don't post 'all ok'tartopimg to fret
Girls just left, I'm zonked, just started to rain so might have a nap
Being up so early I accomplished much
Found enough leftovers from the quilt I finished yesterday to make a backing and get the stripe top on the frame, put paper pieces together and cut out bride/groom to start the wedding quilt project
As we gabbed while the gals painted, talking of the zillion wood pieces left To finish, Ann has been on a mission working on old unpainted wood pieces so we did a challenge. Lol
So the challenge for this week is pain and finish these pieces..got a few base coated ready to paint..let's see if I'm up to the challenge😜
Was hoping to head north tomorrow but we got a brief, but heavy, rain this morning and are under a hurricane watch for Linda. If it stays in course and we don't get more rain I'll be OK but nothing is certain.
We've had a few rains lately and there are lots of bugs out. I got a nasty bite two nights ago, adds to depression and generally not feeling too good. Won't kill me so I'd best get over it.
Neighbor Barbara had a rattle snake that wanted to live by her outdoor washing machine so I sent our helper up to clear the area. There was a large pile of plant trash outside her house yesterday so I think he helped.
Max got accidently shut in the storage shed last night. I called and called - he can bark but wont' when he's shut in (or out). Went out very early this am and Inky dink sniffed at the shed door, which led me to open it and have a happy reunion with Max.
What with the bug bite, I didn't need to fear I'd lost another dog. I think tonight will be early to bed.
I did finish and print my letter of gratitude to the IRS for their help with my lousy retirement association.
I've got a large planter to work on. It should cheer me up.
hugs, katie
those are beautiful, Betty! Looking forward to the finished product!!!!!!
oh Katie - that must have been so scary to "lose" Max! Happy reunion, indeed
Did I miss something - did you get some $$ back from the retirement association, Katie?
No $$. I have done what I could. Letter to IRS is last possibility of them looking into it. Either way, no $$ for me. IRS people helped by getting IRS problems caused by retirement solved so IRS is off my back - mostly. Retirement is horrible and worse than useless. kb
