Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is terrible "M" poor Lorna, just what she didn't need
You tell her she must listen, off to get 'x' Rays , could be a break and if she doesn't have it looked after now it will mean they may have to break and reset later..best pay the piper now if it needs tending to..wait wouldn't be long in emerge if it's for X-rays would it?

mulege, Mexico

Had to laugh at "sweet old grandma" as that is what I've been working to present. Don't want to spoil thing by showing them my Terminator side. Yet!!

We should be able to get the land paid for tomorrow and that will be one less major stressor.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad she is going "M", bet she has a break..

Sue, lots going on with the kiddies..will they spend weeks at their dad's this summer?

Keep looking at the clock, much too early for bed but wouldn't hurt making myself comfy

Linda emailed, said her leg is so swollen she can't walk, big sigh

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

So glad that Lorna has you to look after her - sometimes even we "older folk" need a "momma"

yes, Betty - get comfy :-)
oh, poor Linda........ she needs to elevate her leg, not walk on it

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Elevate the leg, and maybe some ice packs?

Sending prayers for Lorna.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

WOOT WOOT .. home, Xrays done .. NO break so the ER doc (Doogie Houser) says .. BUT, we COULD get a call from a radiologist tomorrow if he finds something .
She's getting her lunch ready, and, she plans to go in and plant the last of the Petunias ..

What's up with Linda's leg?

Bedtime, busy day tomorrow, Zoey to the groomer for 9am, then brkfst, then some grocery shopping .. DH and I are gonna be joined at the hip for the day ..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad nothing is broken "M". Now what did Dr. dogie Houser suggest? Bet it wasn't for her to go to work in the morning 😉

Was sounds asleep and mom called to chat, then fell back to sleep and my bedroom is right near next door neighbours drive, guess he got a load of wood, all were out taking it off the truck, tried to get comfy and another load arrived..shook my head and then thought poor fellow, works all day and only time he has to do this is late at night..this old Connie can sleep anytime so now I'm wide awake, went and got some ginger ale and marshmallows, thought I'd have a party with Missy

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Morning ...

well .. one thing 'Doogie' did not say, was 'stay home' .. he suggested she 'be careful' .. which I know she will be, but, I am trying to convince her to stay home .. I'm losing .. she is hel* bent on getting that flat of Petunias into their bed ..

Hope you got back to sleep Betty ..

Best get movin here .. be 'out the door' in about an hour ..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning

Well I'm sure Lorna won't overdo, she knows the consequences if she does

Sun is trying its best to come out although they say rain will be here early morning and stay for much of the week.

Garbage is out for pick up, brought 2 windows in for my project, need a good cleaning before I decide how I will design it

Don't know about all you northerners, Lordy the shrubs, trees have grown twofold, my yard looks like a forest, lots to cut down/trim, might have to wait till spring though.

Glenview, IL

Good Morning...
OH Betty, so glad you got some more windows! LOL I love my window...still deciding where it will go.

Well hands on the hips, So now my niece wants me to give her the money for the ride back.
So far, everyone here says no way, she didn't take me. I did tell I'd pay her gas to and from the Rez and that is what she is holding on to.
...I don't know, Originally She told me it was 50 bucks to fill her tank...I gave her 60. She said it "costed" her 70 because she had to add another 10 on the way plus tolls. She txted she wanted the balance of 150 oh and she did send another to thank me.
Sigh, still debating. What would you do??

whew, M, So glad Lorna didn't break anything. I fell flat on my face when Liz was here and I am still very sore...Sending a gentle Armwrap. Hope she heals quickly.

Ok charging battery so I can share pictures!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Big sigh, Judy that's a lot of $$$ for not fulfilling the agreement you had..don't think I'd send more

Glad you liked the window

Ones I will work on I had several years, a set of 3..had set them aside to make a gated entrance to back patio

Will be on the lookout for more

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Judy, don't you dare give her another penny. I would not have given her anything at all for what she pulled.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

I agree with everyone else, Judy. She didn't drive you, and you had to use that money for gas yourself. I think she owes you the $60 back!

what kind of car does she have Judy ? . I agree. don't pay that @#$ girl anything. The agreement was she would take you to the gathering in OHio and she didn't ! .... end of discussion.
break in the rain but no sun. *sigh*
Hope you got some sleep Betty
Glad there is no break in Lorna's hand. Hope it is feeling better today. Is zoey all nice and pretty from the groomers ?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad to hear that Lorna doesn't have a break.
Judy - I'm sorry that I didn't catch what "that girl" did, but if the agreement was that she was to take you to the gathering and didn't......... why should you pay for her to go there & back home? I guess it was to be a "shared" thing where you travelled together and you "thanked her" by paying for the gas. You weren't part of the "share" so why thank her by paying your "share" of the gas? She sounds like a greedy "entitlement" person, and living in the same house as one as I am (Mike)............ I get angry when I hear someone is feeling "entitled" to stuff they didn't earn and don't deserve.

speaking of Mike....... guess what I'm doing today? I'm getting us ready to Move Out of here..........!! We met with Grace & Robert last night, here, and they said not only can we move in as of anytime we're ready, they are charging us No Rent or DD for July. We start paying rent as of August 1st!!
AND, we can tie into their dryer vent with our dryer, so can bring our washer & dryer to the new place - there's room for the set in our bathroom!!!!!
AND, I found a set of free kitchen cabinets (upper & lower) and an 8' countertop on kijiji! Bob's picking it up tonight.
AND, I found a storage company that's having a discount special, so rent on a storage unit will only cost $21 for the month of July, and we start paying the $150 storage as of August 1st. With the smaller space, we need to store a lot. We have a lot over at our old place (2 sheds) and will store even more in them, but will still need a 5'x10' storage unit.
Bob wants us to move asap so we don't have to pay Ker anything for the July rent. He figures it will be compensation for all the bs that Ker's put us through with Mike.
oh, and here's something - Mike is getting rewarded for his bad behaviour - when we move out of the main floor suite, Mike moves in............ We figure Ker told Mike we're moving, so Mike has been pushing our buttons to get it sooner, rather than later. Guess Mike's "won" his fight.

mulege, Mexico

Judy, this is a "keep it simple" situation. A contract has two parts: what you agree to and what the other party agrees to. Your niece voided you contract by not taking you to the gathering. Not only do you not owe her money, she should return what you gave her.

"Dear niece, Our agreement was that you would take me to the gathering and I would pay for gas. You did not take me to the gathering and should return the gas money which I gave you. I am not going to reward you for failure to keep your word. I'm sorry that you have not learned the value of keeping your agreements; I had hoped your parents had done a better job of teaching them to you. love, aunt judy."

P.S. Keep it simple - we both agreed to something - you did not keep your agreement so I don't have to keep mine. Forget anything else. Remember Br'er Rabbit - a tar baby will have you stuck defending yourself in many directions when the situation is quite simple. As my high school chemistry teacher used to say, "Think simple minded." Don't let yourself get distracted.

Sue, good luck with the move. I went through similar problems getting settled here in Mulege. Today we are arranging to get the last of the money we need to pay for the land here. It will be a huge relief after many false starts on finding a permanent home. I hope this one works for you and Bob.

I didn't sleep much last night but expect I'll be better when the land is paid for. Then I can go back to the retirement situation without the land payment distraction.

It's hot and humid here. That will be our weather report until mid-October!!

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good note Katie, only thing I would omit is the part about parents doing better job, me thinks that would start world war 3..shall we yell Yahoo later today when land is paid for..should have a celebrations for sure

Susan, congrats on the move, here is hoping things go better for you..might have missed it, is it closer to Bob"s work? Are your plans to stay for the year then return to your own home once you've done your part in honouring your agreement with tenants?

Sue, wouldn't take much for weather to be nicer than the weekend, Lordy it was cold as well as rainy..take you a few days to get back into a routine..enjoyed meeting Tom

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Susan, glad the end is in sight as far asaggrivation goes. To my way of thinking, Ker and Mike well deserve each other. Thinking maybe they we in cahoots to get you to move out.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had wee visitors today
Alex and Aady, Lordy the look so healthy, hard to believe after all they've been through, especially addy with all the operations..won't be long she will surpass alex

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Awesome.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Awe, they are getting so big. How old are they now?

Victoria Harbour, ON

They will be 2 in July
They've been assessed recently and they are about 4 months behind
They will schedule so each thereby for them, that will be a challenge especially addy..they do think some of the problems for Addy will be her vocal cords because of having tubes down her throat for better part of a year

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

4 months behind id not bad! They will catch up quickly.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That they will..
How are you feeling today?

June just dropped in for a bit, stopped sewing while she was here, now I just feel like putting up my feet and having a nap

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I don't think 4 mos. is so bad all things considered. They were preemies too so some time toake up there. Most of all they are here and healthy. Could have easily gone thr other way.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Doing good as long as I don't walk. I walked to the mailbox and back, and had to get the ice pack out. I see the Dr. again Thursday, I will ask what is going on when I see him!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

awww Betty - they're adorable - 4 months is not far, especially as they get older - 4 months at our ages isn't much at all lol

yes, Mike & Ker deserve each other!!!
no, not closer - he'll have a *gasp* half hour drive to work. The spoiled baby is saying "but I used to only have to drive 5 minutes............." don't you feel SO sorry for Bob? LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Joyce, did you send Saturday's weather to me
Drats it's windy, cold and rainy..you can have it back

Susan, when you are used to five minutes it's like forever

How far was the park from his work?

Ann never mentioned out 'out' nor did I
You could see we were spending time together talking about the kids but not really looking eye to eye but that is ok

Trying to decide if I should push myself and get something done downstairs or have a bath and do nothing

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

The twins are awesome!!!! And just look at that proud Grandmother!!! Talk is a good thing Betty. The rest will come.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

It's a start Barb..for 10 yrs the gals have been using my craft room, she would have missed out on the crafting and good company..

Bed won out, haven't taken pain meds, will save that till later for now I'll just surf the web

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Park was 5 minutes, now we're 10 min, and will be 30 minutes

Victoria Harbour, ON

Victoria Harbour, ON

Isn't that something Barb, that is going a long way back
You've something to celebrate as well then.

Dianne, does the storm quieter them down..sailor would find a corner, try to get under the bed and shake for the day. Really is a good day to do nothing but not I my body chemistry to I'll sew a bit and play with glass

Linda emailed me, she is in Sprinfield Il, major weather mass, alarm went off at 3:15 to warn them of bad weather, says she is not liking it, worried about tornado..she is always nervous in such regions that have such weather, can just imagine the state she is in, add I n her bad led, well not a happy camper.
