Good morning everyone,

Good news today. I got an email from the woman who works for the Supervisor who is most likely to help with the retirement issues. I've emailed her twice with ideas and she said she will discuss them with her boss. I am encouraged. Any attention is most welcome.

AND, when I get my monthly income next Tuesday we will have enough to totally pay for our land. Tony was going to pay half of what we owe while I was gone but they told him that part of the land would be more expensive if we didn't pay for it all at the same time! Tony told me this yesterday and we just had to laugh and shrug - it's a Mexican thing. If they don't find an excuse to raise the price on us again before Tuesday the land will be paid for and we can move on. There's a lot of work to be done on the house and garden but we have been keeping spending to a minimum while we've saved to pay for the land - first things first.

I brought a box of succulents back with me. Most are quite crowded in their pots so as I have little energy I am gradually separating them.

Weather is hot and humid but clear and with beautiful blue skies and water.

Time to do some thinking - it's too hot for work!!

Lorna and I got up at 3am to go to a gardening centre for 4am .. 50% off !! .. Got there in the pitch black dark .. it was about 3:50am ... there were at least 150 people lined up to go in .. this business does this yearly, we've never gone, and, this will be our first, and last time.
Some people just go BANANAS !!!!
There were NO carts left, BUT, I spotted one way at the back of a darkened room, went in, and got it .. Lorna needed it to push .. anyway, she made a great savings on Canna Lilies, and some ornamental grasses .. we each got a free Geranium and I purchased some Hoasta and some Citronella plants ..
Went to Rotten Ronnies for an egg McMuffin, neither of us are used to that, so now we are both feeling a bit 'off' ..

H O T day today .. gonna be in the high 80s ..

Are we skyping, I think this laptop has it loaded .. has a camera I know that ..

Sure was a cold one,me with summer clothes, should have brought snowmobile suit

No skipping because half the electronics are on different system

My goal is to leave about 5:00 am and break the drive into 3 segments, here to around Cleveland, Cleveland to Buffalo them Buffalo home
Would love to be home early

Did stop at a Joanns this morning before getting here, bought fabric for a quilt and some fleece (wildlife) for 2 new sew blankets for Xmas gifts

Betty so glad you got there safe Now just get back home safe,. I am with Marilyn on this one, Has me worried. You need warmth, come on don to Las Vegas.

No doctor appointment. Cannot get me in until end of August. I am going to try and pull some favors and see if I can get into a pain specialist. But it is getting better. I changed the way I sit on the couch. I am now sitting in the middle of the couch and with a lot of small pillows behind me to keep myself sitting up straight.

Photo is fresh picked tomatoes made into a fresh tomato sauce for pasta tonight. I bet you can smell the garlic from here.

Oh that looks wonderful! I hope our tomatoes will ripen. We've had so much rain that I have my doubts.

Well when I got up at 6:10 this morning, Betty was long gone. I didn't hear her leave. Knowing Betty, it could have been 4:00!

We did have a wonderful day! I was so, so surprised! Couldn't stop hugging her! We made plans for a visit for a few days in September. Have something to look forward to now! AND.... You all know that I got a dragonfly window!! I love, love, love it! I have it sitting in the bay window right now. Can't decide if I'll leave it there or put it outside as it is intended. Decisions, decisions.....

SO SO happy all went well!

SHARON .. omg .. that sauce looks too good .. our tomatoes are the size of allies right now .. but, we do have HEAT and son, so, fingers crossed :-)

me - 1. met someone who has a basement suite to rent to us - we're going to see it tonight
2. Met up with a good friend (met when we camped during the 2013 flood - we camp in same place every year.
3. forgot my epilepsy meds in Calgary, so Bob went with a friend half way there, to another pharmacy and got 10 days worth - feeling better now
4. got home and found that Mike had flipped the breaker on our upstairs fridge, so everything was thawed out. He apparently flipped it back as we came home because the fridge was on, but nothing was very cold........... he saw us drive up and I heard a flurry of activity........
5 Booked M-F Aug 17 to 21st for camping - looking forward to it!!!!!!

Glad you are back home safe & sound Betty, We are hitting the road on Tues. to go to TN. Picking up the kids and coming back home so they can have a few weeks here. Company coming for the 4th too.
Made 4 blocks today for QOV-Stars. I'll mail them out tomorrow.
Should finish a tree skirt tonight, have about a third of the binding to finish and done. If I stay awake long enough.
Susan I'm just at a loss as to what you can do about that naughty child in the basement. Definitely let Ker know what he has done this time and that you expect to be re-imbursed.

Susan, I need to find a care giver for Vern for a few days and fly out and meet Mike. I grew up in Las Vega with the "mob" and I think I could get his attention in very little time. This man is just pushing your buttons and that is so very very weird. He wants you gone and when you leave he will be very happy. But I do not understand his motivation. How old is this guy?

We had a cool down today to 109. After 4 days at 112, it felt cooler. NOT.

I am on here late but wanted to see if Betty was home. Sauce was delicious and tonight we had a summer sandwich.

What great gardens you both have, I'm in awe..think how I'd love to have same but then this region (my gardens) are different re plantings. I stopped several times, 3 at cracker barrels, wanted to walk a bit, fell in love with a metal birdcage stand, wanted to buy it but line ups were crazy, didn't even get breakfast as the wait was so long, rainy Sunday morning I guess, everyone was stir crazy so out for breakfast...decided I'd wait till Buffalo and have lunch at ponderosa which I did and so enjoyed.

Rained all night and looks like much the same to come today so I'll spend a lazy day at the sewing machine and with glass, I have a idea about a entry area to back patio which would use up two window frames I have, can play with those and of course I've material for a new quilt, I could start it and a few naps in the offering as well

Think they are calling for rain all week...so glad I came home and there was no flood in the basement.

Drats, Linda went to Branson, her dh's deceased wife's brother is dying, they wanted to visit with him, she hadn't a clue as to how her legs would take being in a car for so long.,she says they are like balloons, can't walk, yikes not sure what is going to happen re our trip..Suzanne and now Linda...big sigh

Off to get the windows from back shed, interested in seeing if what I have will be useful in the project I want to do

Need 4x4's, bags of cement and if weather cooperates I can do my project this week

Karen love the tree skirt and how you've done the leaves, much the same as the ones I've done but I wasn't as creative, I just cut the leaves out of fabric, like how you did yours!
How many more do you want to make? Out of all of them, which do you like the most?

Betty, I am so sorry to hear about Linda's legs swelling like they are. Two wheel chairs may be needed?

Holly was easy to do. I traced the pattern onto some thin plastic for making patterns (at Joann's).
Traced onto the skirt and a simple zig-zag around the outer edges. No worries about being exact as leaves are all different anyhow. Go around again and add berries, there again just had an outline and didn't worry about being exact.

I think if I was to choose, I like this one the best. I have 3 or 4 more to make.

Karen, Love the tree skirt! Wow, that was a lot of work!! Hope the recipient know how much work and love went into it!

We've told Ker we're moving out - he just said to let him know when, so he can find a new tenant.
He doesn't want to know about anything other than rent.
Mike has a roommate, we've been told by him........ so now he can afford the rent, and Ker won't kick him out unless he can't pay the rent.
Only thing he'd do is increase the rent. We're going to have to get him to get Mike to pay the utilities. He owes 1/2 of what we pay - suddenly (because Mike leaves all the lights on) we're paying Double what we used to do, with less space.

I'm sorry - can't seem to keep up with anyone else's times and issues. I don't have the mental strength.
Bob has invited Grace & Robert over to see our place here, tonight. They're the ones who have the basement suite. This place looks like a hurricane hit it.
In order to move into their place, we'd need to remove a huge restaurant style sink area - 4 sinks (including the other double sink in the "other" kitchen area) with two sets of faucets - one for filling large pots.
We've got to find a place to store about 50% of our stuff, including an upright piano.
We saw a nice little basement suite, but it's only about 850 sq ft, and we don't have room for much of our stuff. Because of this, we need storage. Storage is about $150/month for a 8x10......... still would be cheaper, because Grace & Robert would pay for utilities, and here we do...........

I agree Katie. I got my shot Thursday, and was feeling really good, but yesterday, my leg started hurting, and today, I can hardly move, that is with taking a Vicodin!

Betty - they know we just moved in a month ago, and that Bob works at ServiceMaster (cleaning company) and they also know that we were camping for 8 days and about the freezer......
And frankly, they're clutter bunnies, so I don't think that's going to be an issue lol

You're so right, Katie - pain SUCKS - hope you're feeling better soon!

Pain is horrible; I'm crying from it. Am to my limit on pain pills.

Earlier I wrote a polite email to the woman who works for one of the County Supervisor my best hope for help at this time. With all the pain now I am writing to my friends here to keep myself from sending her a threatening rant. I wouldn't threaten her but my hurting mind wants to warn them of damage I could do - to their reputations, not their bodies.

Best to take a few deep breaths, let off steam here and proceed with them when I'm calm.

Took Tylenol 3 this morning just to take the edge off

Few times I stopped yesterday was for sharp pain in my left cheek ( wrong cheek gals) lower extremity. Lol. Walking helped..think it's this damp weather

Susan, good grief .. what can I say .. truly, I would be at my wits end, and, my trust in human nature would be right out the door having done business with Ker and Mike .. I think about it, and I shake my head at the audacity of the 2 of them ..how can they sleep at night !!!

Katie .. Precs have been my go to pain med for the last few days, my arthritis is pitchin a fit !!
I get a Biologic shot on Thursday .. all I can say is, the shots make me tired ..

OMIGOSH!!!!!!!!!! Forgot to mention .. Lorna fell while DH and I were at the BBQ yesterday .. luckily I had my phone in my sundress pocket and got her message .. she said not to come home, but, we scorfed down a burger and some salad and headed home ..
She has sprained her left hand, and, she hit her face on the patio
She had gone out to see what the dogs were fussing over .. here a wasps nest was in one of DH firefighter boots .. they were flying in and out of it, she went to throw it away from them, she misread how close the hose across the patio was, and she tripped on it and all 5'9" of her came falling down on her left side, her left hand went under her and it folded back .. she went to work today, but, is home and we're icing her swollen hand, I THINK she might need to go to ER, and, then Xrays ... of course, she's bucking that idea ..
