This is gathering week and i m getting all things prepped.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Quick 'good morning' ..
Looks as though we may be getting more rain today, along with thunder and lightning.

Sue .. you'll be busy this week !

Betty, great idea to sell the totes and quilt !

Hope everyone has a super day, I have an early class .. can hardly wait til this is over (end of June) Brain is in overdrive!

Toodles

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sunshine here, rain not expected until weekend

You've always got something going on "M"' don't think my brains could take in such in depth learning when it's hard to remember what I did yesterday, you are to be commended for taking it on

First "M" I have to finish the quilt, going to finish my coffee and head downstairs and get at it
I will spend afternoon picking weeds and taking a broom to corners of the house, amazing, had it washed down not a month ago and already spider webs..

Darlene was telling me they had their houses sprayed for spiders etc, should find out if I can buy something to do the same.

No Riley, think it's time to stop looking for her

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well we are either going to have a very violent storm......or nothing much will happen. This all from just one weather liar.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Karen, I was just watching the weather channel, please be ready to take cover. They say strong storms for your area.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Just wanted to hop in and say hello. Hope you are all well. Weird and wild weather across the whole country...be safe.

Sending good thoughts and prayers for all.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Linda it is mostly said to be aiming below us. Might clear out some of the deadwood. None too close to the house.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Jean, how are you and the family doing?

I hope it misses you, but it looks like my sis in Grand Rapids is going to get it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hope the storms miss you all..sure is a worry!

Jean, how is your MIL?

Suzanne just dropped in, you can see she is tired but trying to be a little active..on her way for blood tests

Thought I'd get some quilting done but so far been too busy

Lunch time, tummy says I'm hungry

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Pouring here, ran from the garage to the house, didn't want to leave the car out in case of hail!
Expecting Lorna home anytime.

Betty, I gotta tell ya, my brain is no longer a 'sponge'! More like a dish rag with multiple holes lol
But, I can keep up to speed with the young 'uns . In fact, they like to pick Gramma's brain.

Hope Suzanne continues to improve, quite a scare, how's Darlene?

Need lunch, starving.,
Everyone stay safe

M

Victoria Harbour, ON

Seems this spring we've had more rain than usual don't you think?
Are they calling for hail?
Hear you on the wet rag vs sponge..much the same here

Darlene went for tests on the 17th, going tomorrow for another then will wait for results
Pat was operated on this morning, will call George for update tonight

I called Linda to book a wheelchair like the one we used last year for Suzanne, don't want her pushing it in Boston, NYC and Washington, D.C. ,Reluctantly Suzanne agreed

Will call Robert tonight for update on Lorraine

Nice out, should be out there instead of inside

I've been playing with a window frame and glass, wouldn't mind doing a 2nd one just to have in stock, that way I can put the kiln and glass away

Hmmm wouldn't mind a nap

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm so smiling watching the way your brain works, Betty!

Hope you got that nap, you have to have your priorities 😃

No rain here today, but hot! I got to Sherry's about 9:30 and just got home. I'm helping her get all the plants she bought this Spring in the ground. We're getting close to being finished. She has a group coming for lunch on July 2nd and since she helped me get ready for all my group things, I'm returning the favor. It's been pretty easy digging in the clay because of all the rain.
Of course her having an in ground pool didn't hurt either! ;-)

So far, not much damage from the rain and wind to the garden. We're expecting rain again tomorrow....sigh...

Tim had the weekend with the kids. I didn't go out of my way for him..... LOL. Good thing i m not bitter. :P
I had a wonderful weekend with Tom. We had the " meeting of Jesus " talk. Deep emotions for both of us. Many tears shed. We do our morning devotions together. Wether we are together or on the phone. Lets hope the spirit stays in him. :) I m teaching him how to meditate. LOL. He does tend to get frisky ! when we do that together. He is pretty naughty that Tom.
I gave him a blanket that is personalized and says
Tom and Sue
Motely Crew 5
Savannah
Austin
Lucy
gave him a tear in his eye.
The rain kept us inside all day so we just made dinner and had some wine along with a movie.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening

Well Sue, sounds like a great weekend, glad you and Tom are trying to discuss issues and overcoming them. What day does Judy arrive? That will be some day. Lol. What's planned for your Friday?

Some boom bang going on here,

Just turned computers off just in case, think I will go downstairs and do same with sewing machines..better to be cautious

Was a good girl this afternoon
Labelled zip lock baggies, January to June and took all the receipts dragging around and put them in appropriate baggies, most I got done outside was burning old paperwork, so it was a tad bit of organizing, nothing too strenuous

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks for asking after my MIL.
She is about the same, unable to sit, stand, use her left arm or leg, can't swallow, so requires a stomach tube for feeding and diapers. Her vision is limited and she has hallucinations. She is querulous, demanding and less than cooperative in her Physical Therapy and all she wants to do is lie in her bed and have some one rub her feet, swab her mouth and adjust the covers.

Her immediate memory is spotty...if she doesn't like the answer to a question, she just waits 10 minutes and asks again..if I had not known her for such a long time, I would think she genuinely didn't remember. She knows the names of all her nurses, the aides, therapists, and the housekeeping staff, but when she asks when she will be able to drive her car and is told that she will not be able to do that until she can walk, use both arms and see clearly, she says Oh...and asks again in a few minutes. One skill she has not lost is manipulating people... sigh.

Sorry for being so negative in my response, but this is what I see on a daily basis. I have been with her every day except one since May 29th. She gets angry when I tell her I have to go, and when DH stops in after work, she tells him to order me back up there because she needs someone there in case she needs something. He said No, and she made a rude remark and told him to leave.

It is going to be a very long summer into fall and winter.

sending you warm thoughts for your MIL.
Betty everyone should be arriving thursday late afternoon. :)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the update Jean, so sorry your are going through so much, trying to take care of her.

Victoria Harbour, ON

How horrid for you both Jean! Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea Jean her being so close as you will surely wear yourself down going every day. You must look after you..sounds callous but it's a must.

Lindakay how are things going your way? Was hoping you'd have a surgery date by now

Spoke with George, pat went through surgery ok...said she was having TMI's due to neck artery almost 70% blocked..she is such a dear

When I got the update I emailed the gals who come on Tuesday's, wasn't going to ad ann to the list but couldn't bring myself not to, she replied and said she wondered about nobody calling her about Tuesday craft day this week so that was a bit positive

Sue, who all will be arriving?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks much. I appreciate your kind thoughts. My MIL is an unhappy woman and her current health problems have done nothing to change that. This whole situation is very hard on Jim and his sister and brother, and I keep reminding myself of that fact and try to make things easier for them all.

LK, I read your good results from your Dr's visit. So pleased for you.

Sue, hope you have a wonderful gathering and share lots of joy.

Betty, still flitting around...I do hope you rest before you set off on this summer's Grand Adventure.

Waving to you all...be safe and take care.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Then Jean it makes things that much more difficult for you all..hugs dear lady.

The rain is so heavy right now it actually woke me up

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Godd (ish) Morning ..
Been up a while trying to convince myself NOT to cancel my 2 qppts this morning .. just feel nauseous at times, then, it goes away .. almost like 'morning sickness) I was unfortunate enough to have that with Murray, and this is looking like a carbon copy!
However, there'd have to be a 'Star in the East' for me to be pregnant as I lack all the gear required !!
I'll suck it up and go .. DH is coming along .. so ... I have back up ..

Sue .. you must be so excited .. 2 more sleeps !!
Nice you and Tom are trying to work things out ..

Rain has stopped here, just a tad cool in the mornings .. maybe 48F .. nice n sunny though ..

Best EAT something so the lab person won't have a problem taking my blood ..

ENjoy your day everyone ..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Hope the nausea passes "M" at least until you return home
What an awful feeling..I was sick 6 months of my pregnancy with Greg, kept me in hospital and was down to about 98 lbs (how I wish I'd weigh that now) yuk
When will you see the doctor to see if it's the shot of meds doing it to you?

Cool, rained all night, winds up..put the garbage out and couldn't believe all the tree limbs I must pick up..time to have an evening fire.

Working on a window with dragonflies, need e6000 glue so will run into midland at 4:30..thinking of picking up Chinese

Guess it is another play inside day

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jean, when my Dad has his stroke's, he was very demanding to all the nurses and family. My Mom finally sat him down, and very sternly told him, that is enough. I am not your maid, and I will not keep doing things, I know you can do! He cried for a few minutes, but then realized he can do some things for himself, and was so much better after that.

No surgery date yet, I was told as he is a bust surgeon, that it will most likely be early fall, maybe October or so.

"M", sorry to hear you are having nauseous feelings. I hope they get better soon. Make sure you let your Dr. know of these side affects.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hard to set down rules but best in the long run, they act like children and the answer I guess is sternness

Are the meds/ needles at least easing the pain?

Need glue for this project
Great way of recycling old windows

Yes, the shots are doing pretty good, so far!

Love those dragonflies!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Not an old frame but just what I needed for photos of my great grandparents. Lower left is my great great grandparents, taken at the homestead they moved to in a covered wagon. My great grandmother, their daughter, (the one in the white apron) was about 5 when they moved there.

When do you leave on your trip?

Victoria Harbour, ON

July 24th
Not sure Suzanne will be able to do, was just gabbing with her..if she does it will be last minute decision, guess we will have to pay a tad more and go just the 3 of us

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Or you could pick me up!! ;-)

Wow, Karen that is really neat! What a good idea!

Betty, if I come to Canada can we make a dragonfly window for me?!?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sure could, you just have to find an old window with panes in it...yep, you could meet us in Buffalo and be the 4th in our ROADTRIP, what fun we would have

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, ran out of kiln firing sheets otherwise I'd fire a few small green dragonflies and voila, different window
