Good morning all. It is to be a nice day here today after several days of rain. Looking forward to a trip to Joanns with my neighbor. She needs fabric this time and I get to go along for the ride. I'm sure I will find something I just can't do without!!! LOL
Betty, I'm so sorry about the Ann situation. Maybe she is having a stress issue that you aren't aware of. Sure hope it isn't permanent.
Off to do the breathing machine...... ~~~~~Hello to everyone~~~~~~
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends new/old
Morning all, Sounds like you are sooo busy. I'm sewing on another tree skirt, it's kind of a freebie....I'll explain when it's done.
Our weather has been good, could be a tad warmer but at least it is on the warm side of the thermometer.
Amelia had to have a packet of pumpkin seeds when we were at the gardening store and is so excited they are coming up. Whether or not we get actual pumpkins is quite another story. So far there are 12 plants so totally no idea what we will do with any fruits beyond the one she will need, and two for the little ones in the rental. Our biggest problem is where to plant them now as we have very little sun areas.
Morning everyone. I am off to San Antonio to see my othopedic surgeon about my hip replacement. I will be back Friday afternoon.
Safe trip Linda.
Safe trip lindakay, here is hoping they can schedule you in quickly!!
Karen, always can make pumpkin pie and freeze pulp for pies for Xmas..
Ahhh, are you using swap fabric for your tree skirt?anxious to see it
You must be feeling a little better to be enjoying sewin go
Barb, I can hear the joy in your posts, a friend to sew and show with, same interests, add in nice weather and what more can you ask for
Sue enjoy Cincinattie, will you have time to drop into Joyce's? That always brings sunshine to your day.
Judy and Liz must be having one heck of a time..looking forward to jury's update
Sharon, how are you feeling? Bet you are just sitting enjoying your gardens
Deb any dog shows coming up? Sharon's out west hoping to bring home some awards
Debbie, what is keeping you busy these days..
We've been to a few small local shows. Pups just turned 6 months, and old enough for showing, a couple weeks ago. Not well enough trained to compete with the adults, yet. Something I definitely need to work on. I'm still fostering Annie, but she will be going to her furever home in early July. She's going to be living in Kentucky, from what I understand. Not sure if I have to drive her part way, or all the way. It sounds like a good home for her, though, and that's the main thing.
So glad you found a home for Annie
You do start early climatizing the young ones though in smaller shows
Lordy, they've been doing tests re Ontario "alert ready system" all morning, said In both English/French, wonder of they know something we don't
Fretting about cooking that roast this afternoon, want a really ice supper for my friends, mind full of projects I'd like to do, hate to think I'd burn itlol
Yes, we've been to 3 small local shows. Only puppies entered, so go blue ribbons, did OK, but still need more training.
I think I'd be terrified of ruining a roast that expensive! Good luck with your supper, I'm sure it will be well appreciated.
Very time consuming Deb training the dogs..can see you as is Sharon are very committed..
Well if I burn the roast I can always order at the restaurant next door
Clouding over, so hoped we could spend time outside but might not be possible.
clouding over here, too
had a lot of rain yesterday - caught in it, driving, when we went to view that home 1 hour plus away.
Beautiful property & house - 5 lots in one. Too bad it's too far for Bob to work. It's a hamlet - no businesses, Dr office, church, or school - nothing but homes, and SO peaceful. Even has a LARGE 2 car garage with a workshop. Just cannot ask Bob to add 2 hours to his workday by driving. And in the winter?!?!? yeah, it's paved all the way, but very winding roads
Betty, went to a rose festival on Sunday. Put pics on FB. Spent a lot of time at the lake trying
to sort my brain out, helps me to just sit an watch the sunset.
Working with the dog also, and it just is a battle. Kitties are doing tiny bit better with him, but not much. He gets loose on me, and I just feel he will get hit. I no longer have desire to chase him.
Betty, got a package for you yesterday delivered.
Oh, it's the red/white/blue -July 4th pkg Debbie
Forgot to let you know
When you have a moment could you post photo's?
This weekend is the 15th coldwater & area studio tour ..lots of artists showing and selling their wares..when Joyce was here she bought several pieces for her and her gardens
Artistic in painting copper,,metal, stained glass, wood carvers, stained glass, pottery, fibre design, bead work...sure wish you could have done this tour Debbie to clear your mind..perhaps another time.
omg - just got my "urgent" appointment for my MRI - Dec 29th at 11:30 am
I know they're busy, but geeze.......
It's terrible how long it takes for apps..still better having health services and not have to pay vs pay and have almost same day service
I think. Both should be available and we decide which to pick
yeah, very true, Betty - I would still have to go with the Dec 29th app't though - pay up-front would be expensive I would think.
We are lucky in Canada, that we have pre-paid health care. It would be terrible to be refused health care because we couldn't pay up-front.
Susan .. call the MRI facility and tell them you will go on an 'on call list' .. if someone cancels, they can call you .. they do that here .. only thing is, you could get a call at 2am to be there for 4am, but, worth it I think .
Betty .. do you do the prime rib at 450 for 15 minutes, then lower it to 350 for the length of time needed .. such an awesome trick, that, and onion soup mix over it .. I use a closed roaster, everyone has their own dealy doos ..
Busy day, just got my nails done, they were a MESS .. DH docs apt went well .. doc was happy, referral in for his first carpal tunnel surgery .. hopefully not too long to wait ..
Looking forward to the recital tonight .. it's in the mid 80s here, hope the auditorium is air conditioned !
My cousin and her Shelties are headed west for a dog show as well :-)
Susan .. sorry bout the place you looked at .. guess there's no 'public transit' close by ?
Better go iron a sundress
Toodles
Hi to everyone .. Dianne, Barb, Katie, Debbie, Sharon, Mary, Marion, Judy, Joyce, Sue Bev and on and on :-)
~M~
lol public transit....... no, it's farm country. There's no school, church, or any other businesses - only a school bus stop.
Good idea about the "on call list". I can do that..........
Must be like here then ... either you have wheels , or, you walk .. and I don'y see anyone hiking the 25miles to town ..LoL
Off to the concert .. here's hoping Brooklyn remembers her parts this year ... hahaahahah .. ahh well, it's what makes a memory more special :-)
Night folks ..
~M~
Night night everyone, outdid myself for supper, even hot rolls
In cleaning I made 3 TV dinners, always like that
On my feet all day, can barely move, back is paining so bad, think tomorrow will be a do nothing kind of day!
M have a nice time at the concert.
Went to see Tom at his place. Had lunch he cooked. We just hung out and watched tv. Rain and more rain so it was an indoor day.
Betty no i didn't get a chance to see Cookie. :( The art festival sounds lke fun. I do miss those. We don't have those around my area.
rain and more rain. hope we get a break with it soon. Just doesn't seem to stop today
I am her and not doing much. We were 108 today and under excessive heat warning. Suppose to be 111 or higher next 4 days. This is August heat and June heat. Our humidity today was 2% and we have no mosquitoes and air conditioning so just I spend time inside.
I did hand water a few pots today that looked wilted. They are all on automatic irrigation but I need to check a few lines.
Last two days we have been eating tomatoes out of the garden. First on was so so but second one was fantastic. I have been making cold sandwiches and salads because just to hot to eat hot food.
Marilyn, I cook my prime rib the same way but I only use salt and pepper. Betty use your alarm clock on your cell phone. Calculate how many minutes per pound for what wellness you want and then use a temperature gauge to see what the internal temp is. Remember, prime rib keeps cooking for about 20 minutes after you take it out of the oven. And do not cut it until it has rested and the juices have relocated back.
I check on you guys daily but often have nothing to say.
Debbie, I am so sorry about the emotional pain you are experiencing. That pain is the worst.
I had the Devil sitting on my shoulder the whole day a few days ago. I kept telling him to bring it on. At least he was picking on someone that could take it which meant he was leaving someone else alone. I really didn't feel that way but it sounded good. And "Yes", I talk to God and to the Devil and some times at the same time. Still having withdrawal side effects from Effexor XR but everyday gets a little bit better. Been over 2 months. Still waiting to feel normal. Wouldn't it be a big disappointment if this is as good as it gets. And what I thought was a normal me was the "Effexor Me".
Everyone, have a wonderful evening. Linda, stay safe on your dtrip to the doctor. Stay dry.
Hugs to you all, Sharon
I wonder where Katie is?
Hey
The concert was wonderful .. OH to have the energy of a 15 -17 yr old girl again .. my gosh, they danced their hearts out, Brooklyn even admitted to 'breaking a sweat' LoL
DS, Murray, won a door prize, a $20. Timmies card .. when we were sitting down he noticed a ribbon on the leg of his chair, he was going to move, but, I convinced him NOT to .. the ribbon signified a winner, and, he is :-)
Sharon, so nice to hear from you .. gawd, what excessive heat .. but the low humidity is nice, it gets hot here and the humidity just rises, everyone looks like droopy noodles !
You sound great !!
Good to hear your dinner went well Betty .. I find I go to a butcher now when I am going to fork out that much for beef ..
Prime rib is always a hit though :-)
Sue .. any chance you and Tom might reconcile?
Always wondering how everyone is .. KATIE, where are you .. just always wonder about health and safety.
That said, I have to make an opticians apt today .. the drug reaction from last August, DID do something to my L eye .. needs to be seen to ..
Best get a mosey on
~M~
good morning.
Rain stopped but may have more coming in.
yes we have high humidty and temps in the high 80 to low 90s . With humidity it is awful .
M yes i m hoping. There are some issues that need to be worked out. So we see eachother once or twice a week. We just have lunch together and chat.
Austin and I will be heading to the gym together. I hope this helps him build his confidence . Trainer Ryan is a great young man who will be helping Austin.
stupid goat got out while the rain downpoured.... stepped in knee high pile of mud and poop ! outside feild. Lost my flip flop. LOL
Heading across state to have lunch with an old friend. We were neighbors when our kids were in grade school. Then she moved and we moved, lost track of each other. Got re-connected through the daughter of another former neighbor. Very sweet person, I'm so happy we are back together.
Morning all,
Karen, that is exciting, how exactly far is she from where you live?
Lindakay, is your doctor's appt today or in the morning?
Sue, I'm smiling here, can just imagine what was said when the stepping in poop happened lol
Great that you and Tom still keep in contact
"m" know how proud you were at the concert last night, I remember how I was beaming when I attended Caleb's..there is a butcher in midland but I never remember about them..when doing groceries this week I will drop in..Barb, brought you there, mural on outside of storefront depicts the old fashion butcher store, you may not remember.
Sharon, omg how do you endure such heat, stay inside in a/c would be the only way I imagine..know you try to have hubby do a little walk each day but he couldn't possibly do it at this time of year..as for Nimitz, it's not so much humid as it is damp from all the rain, I empty the dehumidifier every morning, I should really do it at night as well.
As for cooking the prime rib Sharon I did do that, had timer and stayed right by the stove, new for me as I usually flit around and either burn it or overcook😉😜
had to take Tylenol 3 three times last night to ease the pain, ended up playing lazy and didn't get up until 8am...soon you will call me lazybones. Lol
Feeling great this a.m but might be because of the drugs but I will take it!
Sunny right now but calling for thunderstorm this afternoon
Not a lot to do today, I had dragonflies firing, need about 5 more firings to get all I need,
Have a quilt top I can play with then the girls come tonight so a fun day for sure.
I had a lovely visit with my friends, we will meet up again once I'm back from my trip. Gave Lois a tote bag, she was thrilled
oh Katie - wherefore art thou, dear Katie......
Just finished all my blocks for the swap. Will get them out tomorrow.
Sound like everyone is busy - so happy to read of you going to see your friend Karen. Things like that always make me feel great too. Sounds like you are going to be having fun too Betty.
Glad to hear the concert was fun "M" and how great for Murray!! Wasn't Katie going to try to spend time with Amma? That may be why we haven't heard much lately. Keeping her and all of you in my prayers.
of course - Amma - I imagine the time with her is very relaxed and she won't be in any hurry to go back home.
Yes, likely and she wouldn't have Internet access
Jamie next door sent a man over to pick up the large TV I replaced, likely weighed a ton lol
Had the old metal zinc from laundry room out back, he took that as well..no charge
My Dr appointment was yesterday. I was told I have click hip. Where the tendons are too tight causing pain in my hip. I need surgery to loosen the tendons, and two weeks later all will be good. No hip replacement needed at this time.
Well isn't that fantastic news LindaKay, are you smiling? Now how long before they can schedule it in? Soon I hope..whatever will you do with yourself once you can do all the things you've been missing out on
Storms brewing, just went and put covers over the back patio chairs, put down the umbrella, now watch it pass us by ..chase Todd around the kitchen?
Just took a ledbetters steak out, last night I made TV diners and completely forgot that I'd be hungry today. Lol
hooray, Linda Kay!! That would be ever so much less invasive surgery!! What a relief that must be :-)
Police just left a short while ago - Mike had his music so loud (with bass) that the floors vibrated twice as much as they did on Friday when we left the house to sleep in the RV. I put the phone to the floor when I called and they were shocked at the volume.
Anyway, they spoke to him and had to pound on the door multiple times until he woke up and answered. He was very belligerent, and they've suggested that we move. This much I already knew.
Bob's already spoken to the landlord and told him that Mike isn't paying his portion of expenses (electricity and heat).
Last night the breaker was tripped and we lost our electricity twice. Mike has access to it downstairs and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he flipped it.......
very volatile Susan, even if you have to move to an apartment it will be worth not having to endure the stress
Holy cow LK, have heard of this condition in kids, guess it happens at all ages ..
Just happy to hear you don't have to have a replacement ..
Susan .. what the heck .. should Ker not be looking after all this foolishness with HIS tenant ??
He sounds off balance .. bigtime ..
Fish n chips n tossed salad for supper .. Lorna is SO tired when she gets home from work .. but, her work is stellar !!!
Best get a shuffle on
~M~
Linda Kay, my youngest DD had that with her knee, and also oldest DD had it with her hips.
She was able to do exercises and it helped as she grew. Once it was taken care of, the pain was gone. Sure hope same for you.
Was looking for Katie also, thought she was done with Amma and heading home, that she would have to sleep in the van as Michael was expecting another guest. Just pray she is safe where ever she is.
Waving to all
Debbie
Waving!
Hope everyone is well!
Friend is almost straight across the state so we meet kind of in the middle. It is a bit more for them but they like to come over to shop. We sat and yakked and laughed for almost 4 hours. I suppose we made the server crazy, but oh well. Place was not crowded so we weren't keeping anyone from the table and we tipped the server well.
Susan I do believe I would tell Ker you are looking for a place to move to so one way or the other, he is losing a tenant. AND he can pretty well count on basement jerk driving others out too.
Linda that's awesome good news. Hope it can be done very soon so you get the relief you need.
Not for sure of the date, he said it might be a few months out, as he is a busy surgeon.
Let's hope there is a cancellation and he can fit you in before then..so you would be in a San Antonio hospital in order for him to do the surgery?
Girls just left, always loads of laughter..poor Rita, she has been down with the cold and housebound for pretty well 3 weeks she said other than last week when she went and helped with sr's bbq
Off to bed, hope I can sleep through the night without having to take pain mess...
Missy is looking at me as though to say 'where is my sister'
LK glad to hear you don't need a hip replacement.
still raining. did get some relief this afternoon. going to be on and off all week.
went to gym with austin. Don't think he realized how much work it would be LOL. hope he wants to continue ?
then got hair done. messed up my apt and was late :( i hate that.
