Usually 3 tvs on all day..one for me, one for Missy and one for Riley..they enjoy watching. Lol

Still no Riley, yep, perhaps the other family we have shared custody are up..one day I'll purchase something to go around her neck that I can out a note and ask 'who are you'

Usually I'm in bed by now, either doing a puzzle or playing scrabble but Marilyn called and said likely she would be here around 9 or so, I'll wait up

Didn't make anything for supper, think I will have cereal

You know Betty, I only have my RC in emergencies now. Not daily. If I am feeling really
bad, in what i call "crisis mode" I will have RC and sit on the front porch away from everything, or get in the car and go to the lake, and drink it. It calms me for some reason. I think it mentally takes me "home".

Sue if it this time of year please do not pick up the turtles. You have no idea whether they have laid their eggs and are going home or just starting their journey. I know its hard with traffic buzzing by not to do just that - it is better to stop the traffic. Here we have signs on the roads in various spots warning this is turtle crossing area. They tend to go back to the same spot every year. We felt bad when we built the house because it was obviously an area turtles lay their eggs. We didn't see any signs plus I had the Conservation Authority out to walk the area we were going to build - they saw no reason. why we shouldn't and their word is taken as gold.

I took a sleep med last night so I could get a wee sleep. I fell asleep after Fallon and woke up at 5 to a terrible mess. CHaos caused just that while I was asleep. The recliner I use in the bedroom is now outside the front of the house. and that was just the beginning.Man what a mess!

Off to finish the clean up... this is no way to staart the day.

Almost lunch, where did the morning go?

Cooking hamburger patties, mashed potatoes..thought I'd get a head start on supper but the way my tummy is might be for lunch..maybe I should cook up those 2 cobs of corn while I'm at it

Yikes lucky I had stove on low, went downstairs and did some sewing when I remembered I'd got lost in time..none not burnt but a little longer and I'd have been thinking of something else to cook.

Storm just passed through, black as can be, thundering but seems to have moved on..hope not to Dianne or "M"

Called plumber, the tap outside which is on the back deck is leaking, think winter did it in..Greg has been so busy that I don't want to ask him to repair it..plumber will come this afternoon and put new frost unit..wanted to go to town after 4:30 but might have to put it off while I wait for them

When I got home all three were acting as if NOTHING had happened .. happily, our groomer of 8 years understood completely, she knows how stubborn a Westie can be ..
Will re book when DH gets back .. she at least listens to him ..

Went to the university to turn in a paper .. met one of the profs and he was quite interested in talking o me about my years in bedside nursing .. so, we were sitting and chatting, and, suddenly I came the realization, that, he is 'NUTS' .. he was going on and on about this n that, not a flow of thoughts, but disjointed garble, and then .. gawd .. I looked at my cell phone and saw that his FLY was open !!!!! Talk about being uncomfortable, and, dontcha know it, I could feel a WICKED bad case of the GIGGLES starting to bubble up .. I finally just said 'Ya know Jack, it was wonderful speaking with you, but, I have a dental apt and I must get moving along .. he was understanding and offered to walk me out, I declined, but, he insisted .. so, there we were walking through the main concourse of the Uni and his fly is open!!!
When we got to the door, I gave him a little hug and said, 'do you still run your hobby farm' .. he replied 'why yes, my wife and I are busy planting this week" .. I replied' Good luck with the planting, and, always remember to close the barn door' ..
Off I surried, leaving him there with THE most perplexed look ..

ANyway .. I sure hope Ryley is OK .. good old Smokey is hanging on, eats well, goes out and walks around a bit .. still gets us up at night meowing, moreso now that Gord id away.

Dianne .. shall I ask what happened, or, should I just call it good and create my own visual LoL

I am sitting here crying....... someone renewed my DG subscription, and it's the nicest thing that's happened to me today.......

I'm living in a house that I don't want to be in. Yes, we can work with the setup, but have a dysfunctional relationship with the basement tenant (Mike) and the owner of the house won't allow us to be the Property Managers he says we are, and get another tenant.
Mike's gotten us to pay for his internet & tv, parks on the lawn (and last night Bob put up stakes across the front lawn and Mike removed them and parked on the lawn anyway).
Ker (the owner) has taken over the 2 car garage, and will make it into another suite. We are to pay for all the utilities for the house, and get the funds from the (two) tenants. Mike is supposed to pay for the internet & TV, but hasn't. Mike is also supposed to pay his half of the washer we bought because the washer we got with the place seized up and we replaced it because Ker wouldn't. Mike hasn't paid for his internet/tv, NOR the 1/2 of the washing machine.
Ker says we can't evict Mike (even though that was the agreement when we took over as Property Managers). We get NO discount for doing Ker's work.
Bob says, "don't push Ker, cuz he will push back". The difficult part is, Ker is Bob's boss. Ker would make life for Bob difficult at work, we both know it. Maybe Bob should go to the General Manager of the company?!?!?
We have tenants moving into our old place, moving in slowly from the 15th to end of the month, so we don't even have our own place to move back into. Plus the fact that we have to pay for re-tiling the bathroom in the old place because when we moved our preferred washer/dryer into the new place we discovered water damage on the bathroom floor (where the washer/dryer was). We put another washer/dryer in the old place.
If this all sounds like babbling, it's because I'm very emotional - both because of bad living situation, and because of the DG angel who signed me up again......... Bless you, my angel.

M Chaos ate and tore apart an old recliner I sit in when I watch TV in the bedroom. he tore up several magazines, ate the weather stripping off of the garden door to the deck, peed on a newel and had a poop in the living room. Man he was just a 1 pup wrecking crew.

Boiled peanuts are just what they sound like ....raw peanuts are boiled in salt water until kind of soft. It's a southern thing which I'm not but I did learn to love them when we lived in FL.

Plumber came, put in a new unit for the hose, then I asked him to put a shut off valve, then repair faucet, end result, going to clean,purge and reorganize under the cupboard..not what I had planned for my evening but a must

Just did the same thing last week. Got something out, it was all wet. Removed everything, hubby fixed leak, put back only half of what I dragged out.

Can you tell me why I need 4 wind ex, why when I have a gallon of Palmolive dish soap I have 3 other bottles, why when I hpjust bought wd40 I've 2 others. Grrrr

Main issue was the hose valve, more water came out then went into the hose..and of course it went under the deck..thinking with all the talk of mold I might have someone take a side panel 3' of drywall off just to be on safe side.

Oh, Betty! Bummer!

I so hope that all the I'll people are doing better now. I also hope that Ann soon realizes that you aren't at fault. How are the twins doing?

I had 35 people here from the Hosta bus tour this past Saturday. Then 12 last night for garden club. I'm having a lunch on Monday for the ladies I clean for. So clean the house once ;-)
I have lots of color in the garden and more things getting ready to bloom.

I hope to be around more now. I've missed you all!

Overcast/damp, looks like another day to be inside
Have been productive though, did kitchen windows, front/back door windows and inside picture windows, now if I can only get outside to do the picture windows I will see beauty instead of streaks.

2 chandeliers that hang outside had dulled over the winter, when cleaning the cupboards yesterday there was a can of black paint so they got a spray, look like new

Still losing water in the pond, going to break down think tomorrow I will get new liner, if I'm going to keep it might as well fix it right?

Betty I'm OK. Had quite a chat with our mail carrier. As it turns out, her mom had the same surgery almost a year ago and she went through almost exactly what I am. So guessing it will get better with time.

Had another depressing episode with our house. Got an offer, insultingly low.

Workers are next door putting fencing supports in, I spoke to the gentle,an who owns that little mall and he said no way would he touch the trees, staying 4' away from property line and only fencing in to end of building..wants to make a little patio for he and his wife..all the plans sound wonderful..I hardly will know it's there.

Spoke with Greg re pond leaking, he thought I should get Joe to remove all the rocks, take the liner out, wash it down good and have a better look and repair, sounds like a plan

So am getting all the little bits done, finding it's less stressful not wondering how they get done, trick is phone a company and get them done 👌

Oh Karen I am sorry about the offer on your house.Up here it is a bidding war especially in the Toronto area or what you got a very low offer. A neighbour up the lane has had her house for sale for 3 years. She has dropped the price $100,000 to 699,000 but has only had 5 viewings in that time with 2 coming back for a second look. The house looks like it is right of a magazine and it is huge but there is really no property and a VERY steep hill down to the lake. The 2 people who came back for a second visit kept harping about the size of the lot. The house basically takes it all up plus there is a worry about the lane in winter. She asked me if someone asks again could she send them down to talk to me. Hers is 1 of the places I take care of in the winter. Apparently there are 57 places over $500,000 for sale in this area so people really do have a choice at that price level.

Well Chaos has got himself a ticket to his crate when I go to bed after his shenanigans last night. Sometime between 3 and 4 am he decided to tear the fabric off of Warren's huge recliner in the LR. The recliner is 14 years old and I was planning on having it recovered once Chaos got through his chewing stage. He has been excellent up until 2 nights ago. Now because of the weather we haven't been getting our long walks plus the 1 neighbour passed us was up for a few days so we didn't go our usual route. After dark I am a little concerned about coming upon the bear again. She and her cubs have been spotted here on the farm a few times since I saw them.

Well the storm last night was all thunder and no lightning. Sheets of rain put not for a long period.It was as dark at 5 pm as it is at 10 pm. Hope everyone else made out as well as I did.

Susan I am so sorry that this move that you thought was going to be so good for you and Bob is not turning out that way. I have always said never borrow money from family or friends and never rent from them either. Hope things will soon smooth out.

I think I have asked this before but I can't remember ...... can I move my Goat'.s Beard now or should I wait for fall/ I never knew it would grow so tall and it is right by the front door. Right where I put the pups out.Plus when in bloom it is home to a large number of small wasps. Just to show me who is boss around here some iris that I had to dig up for the generator pad and just tossed down by my rhubarb are blooming.

Betty I started windows today too. I had called a fellow listed in our local rag who said he would come clean the window, screens, sills and install the screens. He said he would be here Monday - guess I should have asked him what month he was planning on coming.

Oh wow Dianne, we aren't asking nearly that much for almost 3 acres, almost 300 foot frontage and a hard sand bottom, two houses, This one sleeps 20. 3 bedrooms down and a large dorm & bath upstairs. Granted not so fancy but it is a cottage after all. We have lowered the price $30,000. Agent says our price is more than fair and yet acted offended we didn't accept the offer. I told him If we can't move to a decent house, why move? Oh well no sense worrying about it.

Seems to be one of those days I wish had 36 hours in it !

Was out early to Shoppers to use up coupons, Shoppers is sorta like Walgreens I guess .. they have just started the 'loading your points to your savings card', online, instead of having to print them out .. works very well .. another store, NoFrills does the same ..
So .. I spent $98. and, with my points and coupns, ended up paying $12. out of pocket .. felt good :-)

No Frills (grocery store) was a bust .. had gone specifically for the cat food Smokey loves .. they had NONE !! One box of packets was worth 250 points, I'll keep looking, have til next week ..

Went to Lorna's pharmacy to pick up some meds for her, talk about a busy place !!!

Drove past the cemetery on my way home .. WOW WOW WOW .. has she done an incredible job .. she is almost finished the 15 or so gardens, and, once they start to fill in .. well, gonna be showy for sure .. thanks to Ms LK and her having me load DropBox, I have pics, but, still have to mess with them a bit ..

My Mom and Dad used a product called 'Bon Ami' .. it was a white cake of something .. you wet a rag, rubbed it on the cake, and spread the Bon Ami on the window, waited til it dried, and, wiped it off, just beautiful the job I did !!

Bon Ami I remember that. My mam used to use it.

Well I won't be going too far this weekend, Just called the dentist and he left at noon and not in tomorrow. My front tooth on the left side came away as I was water picking . I have no teeth now on the top left hand side of my mouth. Hopefully he can see me Mon. That tooth had a cap on it but the tooth under it as eroded away. My caps are all at least 40 years old which according to my dentist is amazing.All my caps on the left have come out in the last 4 mon plus I think I have an infection there.My radiation to my head has caused all of the roots of my upper teeth to die off. I am just sick about it.

Karen this lot the huge home is built on is less than 1 acre. When we sold it to them both Warren and I shook our heads. I thought that lot would never sell. They told us they were going to build a bungalow. Betty is right Karen someone will want your place and WILL pay what the house is worth.

Just spoke with Danny next door,nice man. Workers are doing all slate and ceramic in all rooms, Sooo roomy. He will live here for 6 weeks, 6 weeks in Florida then 6 weeks here again then off to Greece where he own an olive farm..

His plans for the corner mini mall are great, the little enclosed garden he is making will be gorgeous..lots of upgrades

I am so sorry that the potential buyers were that way. Was it one week since they gave the offer?

My knees are really bothering me today. I thought that I could get away with the morphine for morning only, and not take it at bedtime, but I guess I was wrong..... guess I need to keep some in my system for it to work properly. Tonight I'll take it at bedtime. It doesn't put me to sleep, so need to take a T3 as well. btw - just so you don't worry - I only take 1 or 2 total of T3's per day, and could take up to 8 - not going to take what I don't need. That, and 2 morphine per day get me through my day.
I now wrap my right knee before bed, and it allows me to sleep on my right side. For some reason I think the muscles "slip" and it makes it very uncomfortable/painful sleeping on my side (my preferred way to sleep), but sleeping on my back doesn't hurt (I don't like to sleep on my back......)

I've gotten most of the "extra" furniture out of the old place, and going to meet someone in just over an hour to take the couch & loveseat, and hopefully the display cabinet too. They'll decide on the cabinet when they see it. It'll be a relief to have the old place cleared of furniture.
Then, Bob just has to fix the subfloor in the bathroom, and we can get the tilers in to put new ones in.
Marcel says that Carolyn will paint the place - after all, she's a professional painter....... that's one thing off my list of things to do.
We'll have to get the sealant and paint for the deck - she wants that done, and will do both, if we supply the stuff......... it's something we didn't want to have to pay out for, but I guess we will........ damn - $$ keeps flowing out of our pocket.
This is all stuff we really can't afford...... we'll be keeping the receipts for tax time, because it will help to show we're making the place "move in ready" for tenants.

Sorry to hear about the dog chewing the chair. I sure hope you are not in a lot of pain with your teeth.
