Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends .old/new

I am feeling very very very tenuous.......... with our current landlord. He's making yet another change to our location - now, the 2 car garage is not going to be his workshop, it will be turned into another suite. We are not going to be getting a discount on the rent, rather - Ker will be making more $$ from it. I also asked Bob if Ker gave him a receipt for the rent we paid him (one month $1200). He didn't......
We have good tenants, but our tenancy is not good.
The home was renovated for tall people - of which I'm not one. I can't reach the 2nd shelf of the upper cupboards, let alone the 4th...... We were to be property managers and now Ker says "no, not until we get new tenants in the basement and the current tenants move out."
We don't have a lease, and everything has been a spoken agreement, which Ker keeps changing (ie: we were to have 1/2 of the 2 car garage but now have street parking).
My daughter said "look for a new place NOW, and when you've found one, give your notice. I will pay for your move". Bless her heart.

She may be right Susan, could you not before the young couple moves in go back to your home, where you where king of the castle. This Ker is Bob's employer? Feel badly for you but migh be wise to bite the bullet now before he has someone moving in the spare bedroom

Like like why you were having difficulties with the man downstairs, Ker telling you one thing and him the other

We were to have had rain last night, few drops and moved on so I went out and watered the gardens.

Have vacuuming done, laundry done, now sitting and having my coffee then off for groceries and post office then the day is mine, bit of weeding then I'll have to find a project.

Well Good Morning and Hello!

Waiving hiya Betty and Everyone.
So sorry to be Missing. Last month I went to the Doctor, another new one.
I actually like this one and she really listened to what I was telling her.
And luckier for me, symptoms were happening so she could see for herself.
Well, Dr. gave me an additional dose of 5mg of High blood pressure medicine to open the nerves in my feet. She said it would take a bout a month for it to take full effect, but I kid you not, The 2nd day, I could feel a humongous difference. With it an entirely new attitude.
I CAN walk again, lol or at least I think I can, we'll see when I go to the Powwow today.
It being held at Bussee woods right near me! Lots of walking.
Anyhow, with the new re-found energies, I have been a hard worker bee.
The Cottage, is completely ready for our first Summer vacationers (this weekend), I even did some transplanting! (mostly iris)

On the homefront, continue "bulldozing" this house! This is a forever struggle, since I am dealing with everyone stuff. I have been striving to keep it kept semi clean for Liz's visit, which is in 1week!!! OMG, I am so excited, heheh so is she!
Well, now that I amfree to move pain free, I have been up and down the stairs, even ran through the house a few times and many a happy dance, lol just because I can!!
You know, it's funny because I used to pray daily for my hands, now I pray for my feet.

well lets see, I have been bird sitting as Summerfest is well underway and Jake and Emily have been doing much traveling. Well, they even had the gall to take Pegasus with them all the way Colorado for 1 week....so lonely, I missed my Grandbird, He missed me too. When he got back he didn't leave me for a minute, totally ignoring anyone including the kids. Had DH take our picture, yep with his little head on my shoulder. While he was away, I worked myself to exhaustion outside, Since the new meds, I have been on my feet a vast majority of the day...But the front is starting to look like someone cares for it again, smiling about that.
The foyer was clean for a week and all the packing/unpacking,laundry etc and then some is right up to the minute! Well, hopefully the back yard comes together in the next week.
OK, so I brought Feather's cage back home so I can take the little birds outside. Put them both in and good heavens they fought for 45 minutes over this shoestring! ROFLOL, finally they figured out they both got an end to chew.
Well, I bought Julia's wedding Dress, She asked Grandma to house it...We figured there is nothing that would disturb it, right? First day, it "fell" off the hanger!! Sigh, just shook my head.. She called me to run right over to fix it, nope it's been removed from my care so I didn't. I never heard if Julia did or didn't go take care of it, but i'm sure she did or I'd be getting calls about it...Speaking of weddings, I did piece together Heather's bridal bouquet.
I like it and more importantly Heather's reply it's Fabulous!!! Yesterday created the boutonniere. Had to remove a few petals as it was a full bloom, now just have to wrap the handle for bouquet and stem of boutonniere. Also need to work on the Bridesmaids...ohh which I still need to get the floral. Going to be right by hobby lobby so will take a look at the Real touch roses for those.
Lets see...OH MY GOSH! you will never believe who visited me...On the Thursday just before Memorial Day, working in the front garden, mail lady Rosie comes along and say I have a present for you! Really, stop working to take the box and read aloud the box was from Boldgers funeral home. Rosie said Oh, I'm sorry, I said very excitedly, no it's ok it's my Sister!!
Yep, Bear came for a visit via first class mail...lol. Well, yesterday, I got a call from my niece to say her very good man friend passed away on that Tuesday before. Roger was such a nice guy who Loved her unconditionally. Memorial Service on the 27th. I won't be going as I will be in OH at the gathering. My niece will take sister Ginni. They were quite close, lived at the same Community house for years.

Well, this is my busy bee time, constantly running, lon, long working days, lol making up for a whole lot of waited time from not being able to walk or stand very long. I having to "make myself stop to rest or eat, lol....
OHWAH!!! just got a call from my Niece, asking if I was going to powwow...Said yes I'm going alone. She said nope you don't have to go alone, she and my Sister Honey are 3 hours away!!
What a fabulous surprise...okay then, my day just got changed, now got to go prepare the fire pit! nothing like instant happy.

I have been lurking, send prayers everyday for every one.
Betty, goodness I sure have been praying for Darlene and Suzannne, what a scare.
I hope they are both on the mend...Yikes about your helper guy. had kind of the same thing last fall. I almost wish he would show up to help with the front again, sigh.
Wow, it's a good thing the gathering was changed or you would have been away during your friends/family time. One just never knows why things turn out, glad your there for them.
I haven't seen much about thee gathering, but I sure hope you were able to fit it in so I can Wrap my Arms around you. I miss you, and I love ya.

I have to be in Barrie for supper so will go early and visit garden gallery, liquidators and Canadian tire before I meet up with the family.

Was outside, skitters are bad, bedding being washed, about all left to do so might go work on a few blocks till I can get outside

Good morning... Just finished pancakes and sausage that Norm made for breakfast. I'm so lucky that he likes to cook!
Got another block made for the swap yesterday - Mittsy's -and Pat's is done so will try to get them mailed out tomorrow.

Just a bit of background info, Suzanne's daughter who just had the baby a week ago Saturday went home, saw leakage in basement, hubby who is quite handy pulled some floorboards, everything covered in mold so they packed up the 3 kids and moved to Suzanne's, they had just got there, out the kids to bed when Suzanne said she wasn't feeling well..so the household now has 3 kids and 4 adults

The insurance will not cover damage, now why am I not surprised, So they will be at Suzanne's for quite awhile.

Suzanne came home at lunch, quite tired, no visitors Lenny said, that's ok

Phone rang it was Lenny, he said his sister Marilyn will come from the city to look after Danielle and Suzanne and because they've no room could she sleep here,,absolutely

Now after I hang up I'm wondering why would she look after Danielle..hmmm

Phone rings. It's my BIL Robert, he took Lorraine his wife to the hospital, she had been to Barrie Friday for a procedure on pancreas, couldn't do it, too enflamed so after probing and probing they sent her home. Linda when she dropped in yesterday said she had gone to keep Robert company while waiting for her because he lost his 1st wife to pancreatic cancer..she was amazed as ill as Lorraine was they sender her home.

Robert said it was 45 minutes of non stop vomiting
She was home till yesterday morning in severe pain so he took her to midland emerge, she is intensive care..waiting till inflammation is gone and they will send her to St,michaels hospital

Then he asks if I heard about Danille, now, she was just rushed in the hospital hemorging (?)
So she is hospitalized until tomorrow when they see what is causing it..

That answers my question why Lenny's sister is coming to look after Suzanne and Danielle

Oh Betty you must be afraid to answer the phone today. St Mike's we both know is a fabulous hospital. When I was having my radiation at PMH there were 2 guys who the bus dropped off there before we made our way to PMH. I must say the Oncology Departments have really stepped up their services - well at least the ones Warren and I used.

My double vision is really bad today so just know I have read, sent hugs, positive thoughts and prayers to all of you.

The Thundering Herd has the zoomies today. Its like I have 3 teenage boys in the house. They have added the deck to their circuit so it is like a circus. I'd love totell you I am the ringmaster but I think Diesel has that covered.

Gorgeous weather here today. Nice breeze off of the lake, sunny but not too hot. Hope everyone is enjoying weather like this.

Checking in quick, saying prayers for all those in need, and it sounds like there are many.

Great weekend for me. Took Friday off work, my birthday and a dog show all in one day! Had a great time catching up with old friends and meeting new. Went out with my daughter yesterday, today trying to get caught up with the usual chores, laundry is done, I still have some plants I picked up on the clearance rack at Lowes that I should get in the ground, then I can relax for a bit.

As you can see in the picture, first thing to do on Monday, is schedule a haircut!

Betty, sorry to hear so many are not doing well. Sending prayers for all.

Going to try this sleep thing for a bit.Have company coming at some time this morning so I would like to have a bit of a rest before then. Looking forward to visiting with Jamie. She worked after school, weekends and summers for me for 6 years. Went off to college majoring in glass blowing ...... yep you guessed it no jobs in this field. Right now she is working in a paint store in Toronto. Must give her credit she has repaid all of her student loan and now is tackling her CC debt. These CC companies just prey on these college kids. She maxed 1 card out and then another CC company sent her a new card with even a higher max limit. This is the one who didn't know what Warren meant when he asked what the interest rate on her loan..

Nice pics Betty, what was the occasion?

House has been a buzz since about 6am .. DH packing to go, Lorna fetting over her flowers, and me trying to quell the masses!!
Ends up that I will follow Lorna to the cemetery after a half hour of her leaving, and I will bring the flowers the truck couldn't hold .. mostly Cannas and Violas and Lillies.
I would love to stay and help her, but, it's frowned upon as I would not be covered were an accident to occur ..
I have a class later this morning anyway ..

Deb .. my cousin is in the US showing her Border Collies/Shelties quite often .. she is in the process of running the course for young handlers, apparently they did quite well this past weekend

Guess I should get busy here .. as Betty says, nothing will happen if I sit in the chair !!!

CC are a pariah ..I have ONE, and I am constantly trying to keep the balance UNDER $1000. it sure isn't easy, especially when emergencies come up, and you need cash NOW .. and, you have to watch the interest rate for sure .. I have a Visa Emerald card .. 4.5% !!! My Master Card (I cut it up) was 19.5%, I called them on it, and they dropped it to 11% .. I am NOT the kind of person to have 2 CC ..

We learned our lesson with CC years ago . We cut them all up but then we couldn't book a hotel/motel or flights without a CC. So now we have 1. I don't think Warren ever used his even once. My mam got her first CC at 85. She called me when she got it not knowing what it was - I have to add here she used it for several purchases thinking it was coming out of her chequing account.

Well Diesel and Duke just had a rockem,sockem fight. Duke has been spoiling for a fight for days. I think I am going to have to put Duke on his meds until he gets used to all the summer noises. It is so quiet here 9 months of the year. Don't think I will be able to nap now.

We got rid of our credit cards years ago. I agree they come in handy sometimes, but we have lived to learn with out them.

Our one and only is a credit/debit card from our bank. Only difference is the the credit part is safer and takes a couple days to come out of our account. We only use the debit part when we need some pocket cash.

It's a beautiful sunny day here. No Michael yet. I tossed and turned most of the night. Board of Supervisors' meeting tomorrow. So hard to think of what to say. Three minutes. I will apologize for my emotional outburst and talk about the problems of a lying culture. I looked up an article about Oprah saying that an author she mentored lying wasn't a big deal, then having a public meltdown and retraction - lying is a big deal, especially if you are in apposition of public service/trust.

Think I'll work on Michaels' yard and go to see Amma for the evening program. If I stay in San Ramon overnight I can then go to Oakland to the Sup's meeting tomorrow morning, then return to Amma for the rest of the day and evening. Then back to Michael's for Wednesday to pack, etc. Retreat starts Wednesday late afternoon. Don't know if I'll come back here after or head for LA.

Must restart puter. Will think and return.
