bil said he would have come earlier this am, he had set the tunnel cover on back deck and said there was ice on it

you are having a nice day today though?

am working but wearing a light jacked, sunny but wind chills you..just put stain on the quilt rack, wind should help dry it quickly

how is the thundering herd doing today..lots of outside time?

organizing the house again
not much here
very nice weather today

Victoria Harbour, ON

accomplishing much, but not what was on my 'to do' list, ever happen to you

in the back shed found a flower tote I must have painted about 15 years ago, bottom came out of it, rotten, so I managed to find a piece of wood, left draining area open on both sides, think if I give it a coat of finish I can get another year or so out of it..maybe set it under the gazebo that way it would be out of the elements

we all must be in an organizing/cleaning mode Susan..just think, once we're caught up the tan we are going to get

time for chinese

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

"ahead of schedule"......... no, Betty - just realizing the STUFF we have...... siiiiiiiigh
I feel so far behind
BUT, Bob's boss, Ker, came by and mudded the ceiling & wall, and will be back tomorrow to scrape off the excess, sand and re-mud so it can be painted by me on Monday, hopefully.
Doug came by this morning, and helped. It's tough trying to help someone figure out what to pack. In some cases it's easier to do it myself, because he's never packed before. He's amazed at how much Stuff we have, and so is Ker. Ker's trying to figure out where we're going to put everything.... we are going to keep the large shed on this property, to put stuff like our camping gear, etc. It is a very large shed........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Take a deep breath Susan, will all come together I'm sure..lucky you, have storage!

I've worked non stop since early morning
Was going to do the weeding now that I cut all the grass but enough is enough, tomorrow is another day

Went through some closets in my bathroom and rearranged the bed in my bedroom.... still not happy with it LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sometimes you can only fit one way

I was always rearranging, when roger was on the road for the week he said he would always turn on the light when he'd get home as he never knew where the bed would be

Bet you feel better though for what you did accomplish

I said I was finished for the day but ended up going downstairs and painting the rack blue, didn't like it just stained, it can dry tonight and I will distress it in the morning

Kettle boiling, think I deserve hot chocolate and a few marshmallows. Lol

Legs/hip just throbbing, soon pain meds and into bed

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ok, let's see if I've been taken

My helper, who didn't come Friday just came to the door, he said he had been working, asked if I had any work, well no..I cleaned the shed myself, asked if I had anything, anything for him to do..ok, want to pause weeded tomorrow, said he would be here first thing

Asked for a favor, could he borrow $10 so he could buy milk and bread and would work it off in the morning..gave him $20 and told him I trust him to be here at 10

Best will be he shows up and I wasn't wrong in helping him
Or
Worse..I'll walk around with a sticker on my forehead saying sucker. Lol

What did I learn today?? Hmmmm
Oh yes, Darlene said Terry from Fort Myers is coming up for a few weeks..am hoping he will spend some time here..he is always a gentleman, would be nice to show him my Georgian bay

mulege, Mexico

Dang. Just lost a long post but it was mostly whining so let's just forget it. Too much stomach ache; too little energy.

Got more naked lady bulbs dug up and found three more patches to do later. May go around the neighborhood looking for trades for succulents.

Sharon, your garden is beautiful.

I'm going to post this before I lose it.

hugs, katie

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, Look at it this way.....sucker or not, you may have provided a child a meal for the night or week....with the $20. You will sleep tonight. If he stiffs you for it...he may not.

How is your burn, healed, any news re Paul and his work?

Long weekend for you all, anything planned?

Got to hate losing a post Katie to cyberspace. There must be a big improvement at michael's with you doing all this work

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trying to fill my morning until 7am when walmart opens..need some soil and hanging baskets

lol, Sharon, you could send me some of yours! Thing is a couple concessions from here a farm has about an acre of them🌻

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

LK your new statue is wonderful. I love the simplicity of it although the message is so powerful.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Back from walmart, ended up buying only 3 of the hanging basket, best of their lot, got to say I've never seen such poor quality plants..so wanted to fill all my planters but not paying for something that looks dead before you even buy it

Trip to Barrie nursery is in order

Sharon, bought some sunflower seeds, let's see how they do in a pot if I baby it and move pot around to say hello to the sunshine

Victoria Harbour, ON

Going on 10:30am...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Always say 'a man is only as good as his word!'

Drats those bugs

Work a bit then come in and wash up, itchy

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, tuck some dryer sheets in your clothes.

mulege, Mexico

Good morning everyone, Woke up feeling much better. No nightmares I guess.

Michael, Jane and I had a nice dinner which I had put together for us. They were very happy and thanked me a lot. I'll cook the little roast I got tonight.

Jane asked some good questions about my retirement situation. Helped me to clarify the situation and how to communicate it to a person who is not familiar with any of what has happened.

Betty, I've had similar experiences with a few workers. I know it's ainful to have our trust broken like than but it's on the person doesn't show up for the promised work, not youl. Sometimes I laugh to myself thinking how much more they might have gotten from me if they hadn't been so greedy. This way you can be done with him and move on. It reminds me again how lucky I am to have Tony.

It's another nice day here and I'm glad the black mood (and stomach ache) that were with me yesterday are gone.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Better late than never
Apologized for being an hour late..had to fix his bike
Weeding ditches then entire yard done
Asked him to come every Friday so he can do the brunt work..reminded him that if he doesn't come early am I'd have it done
Might get him to edge all the gardens this week

Smaller of the ponds still not 100% level, if he doesn't have to rush off I will get him to help me do it

Looking good, pleasure to go outside, omg weeds know I've nothing better than to weed so they are hiding

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, sounds as though you are acknowledging your thankfulness for accommodations by all your hard work, best you watch out, they won't let you leave. Sometimes it does well to explain the situation to someone who has no knowledge, gives you points for clarification

Betty I finally found the blues festival I mentioned. You are probably away then. It is in Owen Sound on July 25 at the Kelso Beach Ampitheatre.(sp) Tickets FOR RESERVED SEATS ARE $109.50.I forget what the General Admission is .... I think $59.95

summertime-blues.com They also have a FB page

Colin James is going to play with Jonny Lang for the first time ever.

Tried to use the leaf blower and the wind is so strong I gave up. Trying not to do much inside.. as... yesterday between the pups and I we broke 2 Waterford Crystal high ball glasses. When I went to take my dinner out of the nuke I dropped it. Pups did an excellent job of cleaning up. Good enough reason for me not to vacuum I figure.

My borrowed son and I are going into Kingston tomorrow to do some errands. I so appreciate what good care he takes of me.

I've spent a couple of nights at the hospital so a good/friend/neighbour could come home and try and get some rest. She and her DH lived across the road when we lived in the farm house Ron is very ill and I am not so sure he will be coming home this time. It's the least I can do for her He is aware you are there so I took some real old school C&W cds in and played them for him He loved it!

Betty I am so glad your helper finally showed up. But hasn't he heard of this wonderful invention called a telephone.Saying this in jest but I can remember my mam telling me that. She always wanted to know where I was when I went out. Not that she approved of some of the places I went but at least she knew. One night I didn't call when my BF and I went somewhere else than what I had told her.Hope he turns out to be a good helper for you.

M does Gord come home tonight from the show? Nice break for you all I am sure.

Jean I am so sorry for your loss. These furries have a way of sneaking a chunk of our hearts don't they?. How is your MIL now? I have missed a few days so am out of the loop. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. How are you doing?

LK how is your leg? Still in a lot of pain?

Susan your packing timeline is on schedule?

My security detail is telling me someone is out there on THEIR lane so I best go see.
Dianne

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Just came inside from the first "Let's get to know one another" picnic here at our building. There were 8 of us and we had an enjoyable afternoon with good food and wonderful conversation. We all got to learn a bit about each other and it was a lot of fun. Planning another one around the fourth of July.
Made another purse - trying out a pattern for Christmas presents. Very easy to do but I don't like the way it finishes with exposed seams.... Will hunt for another pattern.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nice to hear from you Dianne. Sorry to hear of the broken glass. Bless you for helping your neighbor while her hubby is in the hospital. Sending prayers for all.
My leg is not doing very good. I am going to call the Dr in the Tuesday, which means I will have to make the 160 mile trip to San Antonio some time this week.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Keeping you in my prayers LK that you don't get put off once more!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Barb. Me too.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

we're getting pushed ahead of schedule - Bob's wanting to move the bed over tonight, and sleep there - and we have coffee and fixings there, but I'm Not ready to move into a disaster zone, and that's what the house is.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all,

Dianne, I'm sure your neighbour appreciated your staying with her hubby, poor dear, must be exhausted...can attest to that can't we, not wanting to leave our loved ones while making ourselves ill..

Yes will be away or would go to the festival..one next month in Wasaga Beach, not as well know blues venue though, might try to make it

Barb, how wonderful for you to get the opportunity of meeting other residents...I had bought a wallet pattern, Lordy so complex I made 2 in class then gave up on more..hope you find an easy pattern

I feel badly for you lindakay, not like you to be in so much pain for so long.

After going to San Antonio twice and not see the doc I'd be worried same would happen.
Been quite a day, EVERYTHING on my to do list is done,
Young man certainly earned his keep..and yes, did say he should have called!

As luck would have it when all was manicured, car pulled in, here it was Darlene and Terry (Terry from Florida) couldn't be a better time to drop in

I called Rita to come over, lovely visit, just by chance I had spaghetti sauce out to cook, enough for all and then some,, quick salad and garlic bread and voila..eats

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maybe bob should move in, get everything organized and in order then call you to move in Susan,,,just saying. Lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LOL Betty - good plan!
But, Bob's at work all week, so it's "organize the new, and empty the old" for good ole Susan............

I shouldn't complain - Bob & our friend John are moving all the BIG stuff, like... our bed, etc etc etc. John's a wonderful helper. I know that Bob appreciates all his help, for sure! John said that no one else was helping so he's glad to.
I have 2 ladies from Northminster Church coming to help clean on Tuesday afternoon (1pm). I can sure use their help!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wonderful news Susan that you have help when you most need it.

Forgot to take pain meds before bed, just got up a hurting big time, hot bath, meds now let's see if I can doze off.

Mind is working o/t, think it's the excitement of having everything done ..doesn't take me much to be in 7th heaven does it

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Raining, good day to go check up on why I don't have my car, visit the nursery and check for plants and Barrie sew has a sale on, that ought to fill in my day

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

My gosh, for those of us who are 'weather nuts', that'd be ME .. Thunder Bay was close to 100F yesterday, and, today, will hardly reach 60 with torrential rains ..

Here's the current bass contest leader. with 2 1/2 hours to go. DGD Amanda. We do catch and release so he has been sent on his way.

That is a nice size bass. What did it weigh?

My ex hubby caught one years ago that weighed 15 lbs 4 ounces. It was 1 ounce shy of our lake record. It was alo released back into the lake.

mulege, Mexico

Good morning everyone,

Didn't sleep much last night so I got up and played on the puter. And thought about the retirement people. One thought that is crystalizing: I used to work with abusive parents. There are certain behaviors of abusive parents that have been much written about. Mental abuse, that is. And as I thought about this I realized how many of the behaviors of the retirement board members and employees are abuse and can be shown to be so. I made some notes so I wouldn't forget it all when I finally went to sleep.

I could do a great one page hand-out on this. Naming names, of course. The biggest common denominator is that they never admit to a mistake and, worse, blame the person they have abused for their bad behavior, Told Michael about this a few minutes ago and he's still laughing. Jane, his girlfriend, has been very helpful with comments and questions.

Michael had planned a trip to LA before is parents needed his help. He'd made plane reservations for tomorrow and he couldn't change them so he'll be gone for a few days again. He thanked me again for all the yard work. I thanked him again for letting me stay here. It's a lot like my relationship with Tony - both of feel we're very lucky.

I got all the naked lady bulbs dug up yesterday. There are bushels of them!! I'm going to take some around to the neighbors. I love sharing.

It's another nice day here. I miss my furry friends and am glad to read about those who live with Dianne and others.

My mind is churning. I love being able to think. Like many who grew up in dysfunctional families, the ability to think clearly about problem situations was often strongly discouraged. I still have a lot of the emotional reactions to these problems but I've learned to proceed - cautiously, but I proceed. I've also learned to ask for help, rather than to withdraw and stay quiet. All of you are a part of this process and it's part of why all of you are so important to me.

Enjoying another temperate day here. We had a little rain yesterday but not enough to end the drought. Barely enough to dampen the streets.

hugs, katie
