Calling for a sunshine day here

Apple replaced iPad yesterday, error happened and lost all my info/photo's but that's ok

Going to try and spend the day out of bed..keep looking at the outside, Gerry
Hired landscape team last weeke but with rain and snow all week it never got done, he called yesterday and said Tuesday so here is hoping

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the new room Betty. I hope you are on the mend!

Glad to hear you have help for the yard.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good morning - it's a good day - Birds are singing, sun is up and, although it's a cold day compared to what we've been having, Bob's not feeling bad at all. I guess it was a 24 hour flu he had.

We went to his bowling banquet last night and had a good time. They called people up to choose their own prizes and Bob & I agreed on a Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt - Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker.
It can make 2 of 1 1/2 quarts of a frozen treat. Didn't really think to add more "stuff" to our household when we're planning on moving, but....... oh well LOL

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

It's so good to see you back with us Betty! I think I speak for everyone when I say You had us a little worried. You take it easy and don't try to tackle everything at once just because you are feeling better.
I am going to try to get another bed cleared out for new plants, mostly Dahlias and Cannas, maybe some Daylilies. I have LOTS of plants that need a permanent home. There are so many jobs to do outside, if it would quit raining long enough to get them done. I also got a new smart phone (first one I have ever had) that I am trying to learn how to use, talk about a learning curve. lol I may have to get my 6 yr. old grandson to show me how.
You all have a great day!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, glad to see you're out of bed and getting around - we don't like it when you go missing - worries us.......
Take it easy & slow and you'll be back to yourself in no time. No major yard work - you have friends and neighbours, besides your ever-so-busy family!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Thanks for the new room Betty, and, please, mark your moments with thought, no rushing and scurrying .. enjoy the days in slow motion .. trust me, things will come around, rushing them is not in the cards right now ..

Only going to be in the 4os, maybe 50s here today, but, sunny ..

Was up at 3:45am, on the road @ 4:15am and, at the airport by 5am .. Lorna's folks are now at home, and, ready to take a nap !!
It'll take us a bit to recover from the visit, but, the house is sure clean :-)

Have a good one!

I was in the paper today - here's a link to the articles in the Calgary Sun, including one by me - I'm the "tearful" one :/

Very well said Susan! Emerald green looks awesome on you!

Spend a few hours outside, so enjoyed it..new neighbours have twin girls, I'm guessing 8 so they came over, we gabbed,gabbed..I offered them treats, the helped picking up branches..I made some friends

Greg came over and said before I decided to put the new top and dome on the gazebo, structure he thought he'd come and do it...done

The girls played at putting cushions on the set and placing side cushions, think they looked at it as a play area. Lol

By 2pm I was back into bed, less lonely with the iPad

Bought pork chops, for supper when I went to food land, kitties were crying they wanted treats..just went to get juice, looked at pork chops and said not today

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Oh Susan, how awful for everyone living there. Government doesn't care about the people anymore, it's all about the "almighty dollar". It's a business, plain and simple. It sounds like they figure if they have to spend the money to update the water/sewer system, they mean to get the most return from their investment. And the current residents are just collateral damage. Good luck to all of you!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Luckily you have somewhere to go Susan ...

Betty, gosh, seems you are up and running once again .. PLEASE take it easy !!
Nice you have made friends with the neighbours :-)

Up into the low 70s here, major sun burn, but that's summer :-) (spring)

Still recovering from the visit ..

Early bed time ..
DH called from MB .. he is off prednisone now , and, he is HURTING .. not good :-(
He'll be home tomorrow by noon ..

Off I go

Not running "M". Am in slow motion
Greg just came, dropped in to see if I need anything , short visit
Greg was saying he hoped he doesn't run out of friends..last week 2 of his friends went to Roy
floss car dealership, one of the largest in Ontario where Kyle is a salesman, one bought a camero and another friend a 4x4 truck fully loaded..yesterday Dan and Laurie ordered a new Corvette, next years model but had to be ordered this year so Kyle did eztremely well
We had lunch yesterday, said he sold 2nd most vehicles last week..one salesman complained, said he has been there 7 years and should get more sales than Kyle..big sigh, always someone to rock the boat..told him I'm proud of him

didn't tell you, Rita's youngest had a boy Tuesday..10lbs 3 oz I think it was

"m" should Gord have stopped taking the meds

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - glad to hear you're taking it slowly. Do not want you to continue to be ill.
Congratulations on the newest baby - wow - 10lbs 3oz is a healthy weight!

Thank you all - yes, collateral damage is just what we are.
The rotten thing is, there is a developer who is willing to build a Mobile Home Park, and would offer us a space and guarantee only 3% increase in rent for 5 years, and 6% increase for the next 5 years. As there is no rent control here, that would be awesome. I gather the City thought "If Landsdowne can do it, so can we". The City offered us a location that had a closed sour gas well on it, and two big box stores refused to build their new mall near there because they didn't want their employees to have to work near it. The City would, however, allow us to live there 24/7. We turned that down. It also turned out to be our then-mayor's brother in law who owned the property - nepotism at it's worst..... Landsdowne Properties has again stepped forth and offered to help us, but the City is not taking them up on the offer. It's shameful, is what it is.

Jenny died this afternoon. She was up and down since yesterday. Tired but didn't seem to be in pain. Was with me by the computer, sleeping, then gone. katie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Katie - do not know what to say. It's so tough to find the right words. I know you loved her dearly, and will miss her- nice that she was with her friend to the end. She's gone over the rainbow bridge, and you will see her again. Prayers for you, in your loss.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Heading back to MI today...heavy sigh....Same person who already looked at house twice was there again Saturday. Haven't heard from him as yet.
This has been a wonderful trip, very good for me and full of wonderful people. So enjoyed visiting with all the "cousins". Found a terrific fabric place and oh my the wonderful weekend at the water park. Didn't go in the water (too conscious of the scars) but just watching the kids having so much fun. Wasn't as warm as I would have liked but guess you can't have everything.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm so sorry for your loss Katie. But she will be waiting for you whenever the time comes.
Sorry also about Tom Sue. It's hard to maintain a relationship when distance and ex's are involved. Most men don't want to share time.
With you today "M".
Hope you are feeling much better Sharon.
Praying all goes well for you Susan in CA. You looked great in the video...
Happy to hear Kyle is doing so well Betty. He has come so far. How is Noah doing?
Getting ready for our weekend away. Brandon rides in Nationals!!!
Saying Hi to Judy, Dianne, Karen, Joyce, Terri and anyone else I may have missed~~~~~

Verona, ON

Oh Katie I am so sorry for your loss. How are the other dogs taking it? When Quill died Diesel carried Quill's quilt around until I couldn't take it any more and hid the blanket.

Tony is here and digging a grave for Jenny.

She was always happy. Always bouncing around like a puppy and excited about almost everything. It was her endless happiness that I will miss most. She just never thought there was anything to be sad about. Made it hard to disagree with her. Her death leaves a huge hole in our little pack. She had my heart from the time I first saw her as a puppy.

She was only about eight years old but her muzzle had been getting a lot of gray in it. I had a huge bout of crying when I found she was dead. Was able to release a lot of grief about losing her and also about the stress of trying to deal with the retirement people. She did not seem to be in pain, just very tired.

She and Scout always knew when I woke up and they would come in to say good morning. Scout came in alone this morning so there was no jossling for who would get petted first/most. The house seems much more empty without her happy energy.

We will bury her at the edge of the property where there is a lovely view of the mountains and the Mulege river.

Don't think there was a day we were together that I failed to tell her how much I loved her and how much joy she brought into my life. She's just gone too soon.

hugs, aktie

mulege, Mexico

It's very quiet here. Yesterday when Max saw how tired Jenny was, he tried to get her to play with him. It was touching to see how far he has come in being part of the pack. Today we are all very quiet. A big piece of our lives is gone. kb

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hugs to you, katie - losing your loved one is hard but you told her how much you loved her and that would be, in part, why she was so filled with happiness.
How sweet that you'll look over the lovely view of the mountains and the Mulege river and be able to think of her.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Tears for Jennybear, Hugs for you, Katie.

Weather is scary..tornado watch and severe storms, power blinking on and off and thunder so loud it rattles the window panes.

Hope you are all safe.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like y our getting the storm we had last night Jean. Take cover if you need too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Be safe Jean, would imagine you have a plan in place should the storm come closer.

Katie lovely words you've spoken of Jennybear,am sure your heart is heavy.

Dianne, how have you been doing? Likely you've the same cold weather as my area..only 4c today..I just turned up the heat. Brrrr. Even the kitties have decided to stay in

Barb, yes, hard to believe a young lad with a spectrum of austism has done so well. So glad you are able to make the Nationals..am sure Brandon will shine.

Little girls next door came over before school and said they picked flowers for me and hoped they would make me feel better..too cute..love having interaction with little girls.

Had parts of a small Fall piece cut and ready so played for a few hours this morning, just know I'll have to make one for julie and Melanie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Karen, meant to ask, did you meet up with your Aunt Bessie? anxious to hear her stories re quilting. Here's hoping 3rd time is a charm and your place sells..would be lovely for you to be closer to your family

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, sounds like you got your granddaughters after all. Even if it is just the neighbors girls. That was so sweet of them to bring you flowers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maybe I have, told them we would make a stepping stone using glass for their mom for Mother's Day

Thought at first they were dandelions but they werent
